Sudha Koul provides a great introduction to the basics of cooking Indian cuisine in this little cookbook. If you're a picture person, you'll be disappointed since this is a strictly text-only, instruction-based book. I don't really mind that, but part of me wishes that there was a bit more description on what to expect from the food. Is it spicy? Super flavorful? A little greasy? I've only made one recipe so far out of this cookbook and it was definitely not what I had expected despite having eaten the dish several times before. Still, after reading all of the recipes, anecdotes, and the historical background piece included in the book, I feel confident that I will be able to continue perfecting my cooking abilities with the help of my friend Sudha. :)
this book is a little simplistic but provides readers with all the information necessary to cook sumptuous meals quickly and easily . great for beginners in indian cuisine. could use some color pictures.
