I'm the bassist in Molly Riot, one of the biggest bands in the Miami area, and I'm surrounded by female fans night and day.
I love the life I'm living...hell, I wouldn't change it for the world. But, I have a confession to make...something inside me has been changing lately.
This isn't like me, but, I'm falling hard for this chick Sophie, the hot new bartender at my all-time favorite local dive bar.
Problem is, our drummer Mark has his eye on her as well. Normally this wouldn't matter, but there's just something about this girl that's different. I can tell already that I don't want this to be just another one night stand.
I have to get to know her--all of her. There's no way in hell I'll share her, but it looks like Mark has a similar agenda and it's creating a divide between us.
Could Sophie be the girl that spells the end of Molly Riot, or will Mark and I find a way to play nice?

Hmm I am not sure how to review this one, I liked it just fine. But I don’t know... Dan was ACES in my book he really didn't act childish at all.
I think Mark is really the way this book fell flat for me. Like I wanted to yell dude, the girl shouldn't have said yes to a date with you when she already said yes to a date with Dan. Dan was cool about it too he would have backed off if it had been Mark she set the date with first.
It was just a lot of unnecessary drama. I am glad I listened through and I hope Marks book isn't as drama related as this one. Also kinda pissed at the girl for being like that she had to have known it was going to cause tension in the group if you say yes to both members of the same band.. just saying that was a douchey move on her part.
Love the narrrrrration.. Yummy is my word for D.C. Cole's voice. :D
*You don't have to like my review but its 100% my opinion, and I am allowed to have it.*
I really liked Dan. He is probably the most laid back go with the flow member of the group. I really liked him and Sophie together too. The conflict of the story was how can Dan get the girl that his friend Mark likes... grrr. Sophie made me so mad with this one. I thought Dan's reaction was very realistic and I understand why he felt the way he did. Even though Mark was acting very childish about it, I kind of understand where he was coming from. What Sophie did was not cool but I like that she tried to smooth things over on her own without Dan's help. Dan and Sophie really were great for each other. 3.5 stars
DC Cole as always did a great job on the narration with this one. 4 stars
I love this series. This book was quite different than the rest, though. What I found engaging was Mark. People who function or operate like "Mark" baffle me. He clearly is upset, but rather than communicate and tell people what's going on, he simply refuses to address it. At first, I was maybe skeptical of if I was going to like this one as much. But, then, I could totally relate in the sense that, I'm such an upfront. And, I have no problem letting someone know what I think, how I feel, or if I don't like something. So, I find personalities like Mark's frustrating. I'm a true believer that communication is key. So, I could totally identify with the frustration and confusion when dealing with someone who clearly has a problem, yet refuses to just address it and spit it out.
And, of course, D. C. Cole is so good at capturing thoughts and emotions. So, you feel all of the different nuances of the varying feelings and reactions of each of the band members, but mostly Dan's confusion and reticence to deal with Mark before communication finally happens allowing for resolution to begin.
Book four of the Hard Rock Star Series has a better tone in writing than the previous books. It is like the author has hit her stride with this series. Or maybe Dan had to be written in a different vein than the others because he is not an alcoholic, drug abuser, or a sex fiend...okay so he might have just a little issue with the aforementioned issues but he does not require rehab right now.
Dan and Marcus are the only two band members not to have seriously hooked up women for a committed relationship. They are feeling a little left out of the group.
I liked this book more than the others because Dan recognized the something was missing in his life but was not sure what to do about it. Drama will unfold that will affect the band a whole and individually. Can they hold it together or will they allow it to tear them apart?
Received this book for an honest review from the author.
Hot Rocker Sequel or standalone. I was provided this audiobook at no charge by the author, publisher and/or narrator in exchange for an unbiased review. I loved the first three books in this series so much my fb audiobook reviewer group let me listen and review the next audiobook in the series when I requested it. DC Cole is a new narrator for me and I am loving his voice and ability to bring characters and stories to life the more I listen to him. His voice is very sexy and rugged and he knows when to fluctuate and pause. I plan to look for more of his audiobooks to add to my wishlist. This series has me hooked and I can't wait for the next book in the series to be released to audio. I highly recommend this series.
** I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review **
I liked this one ok, but the drama between Mark and the band was kinda lame...I dont see why it was necessary...and all the drinking and chain smoking is very stereotypical of a rock band...I do like Dan and Sophie together...Sophie is really a cool chick...and I am glad Dan realised he really was falling for her...I give this a solid 3.5....but to be honest, there are much better rock band books out there..The Narration is sexy though!! :)
Dan has always been the one drawing whilst the band held their meetings, in the previous episodes. Now we see Dan and Mark the only unattached members of the band. So off course the spanner, in the shape of a shapely bar maid, is what puts everything out of wack. Yeah, a bit of a hard lesson, but another excellent read from this author.
This was a typical rock band/star story. I didn't find anything necessarily great or out of the ordinary with the story. Two band members fight over a girl they've found and want to date and the band suffers for the rift. I found the drug use distasteful and not appropriate though. Why would you even want to include guys doing drugs in a story? That was off-putting for me and I think Jade Allen needs to rethink the normal use of drugs in the storyline. It's not OK. I listened to this one on audio and DC Cole's voice is great for this story line. I don't, however, find his depiction of other voices (other band members) good at all. He voice reflects the mood, for sure. He doesn't just sit and read a book, he does get into and voice the enthusiasm and situations. That is a good narrator to me. I just don't like the other band members voices he uses at all and makes it a little more hokey.
So a little play on words since it's a rock star romance. Jade Allen continues to entertain us with Dan. He is taken with Sophie, but finds out that Mark also is interested in her. The communication between these two band mates creates a huge problem. As soon as Dan knew that Mark had already made his move with Sophie, there should have been a talk. While I loved the interaction between Dan and Sophie and their budding relationship, I had a real issue with the way things were dealt with inside the band. I think that is one of the reasons I was so interested in the outcome of this book, wanting to see if the relationships would be recovered. This book was a little different in that way, not just the one on one relationship of the couple, but included all the band members. I love the integration of all the characters, it makes you feel like you know all of them.
D.C. Cole...what can you say? Perfect for this series. His voice, with the inflection and ability to change characters with so many included is amazing. Can't wait for Mark's book
I enjoyed “The Bad Boys Of Molly Riot: Hard Rock Star Series, Books 1-3” and was looking forward to reading more. Jade Allen does not disappoint with Dan. It seems like Dan is the nicest of the band members, so far. This book has less angst than the first three, though it is not angst free, thanks to Mark. I am looking forward to the continuation of this story thru Mark and am hoping to hear more about the other band members as well. While each book can be read as a stand alone, I believe you get more out of their stories by reading them all in chronological order. And each one gets better as you go.
The story of Dan and Sophie was a sweet one, I enjoyed it very much. Mark thrown into the mix gave me a little sadness mixed with curiosity as to what his story is about. Anyway back to this book, Dan & Sophie share is just so damn sweet in the beginning and as things develop more between them it gets steamy at times and I loved it, I was wearing yet another grin at times. Loving these Molly Riot Men. This is my voluntary and unbiased review
Dan & his best bud Mark are the last bachelors of Molly Riot. In walks a cute spunky bartender. Both men go for her. With the unease in the band already, this just pushes it over the top. Great sex scenes. I'm left worried if the band will pull itself back together. On to Mark (book 5) to find out.
Dan and Sophie start out on a slippery slope as she accepts a date with Mark as well as Dan! Dan wins out over Mark but the tension in the band because of Mark's refusal to work with Dan is threatening to tear the band apart.
The characters are likable and the storyline is believable.
