Rate this book
A limited biography (2000 words) of our first Captain-Commandant of the United States Coast Guard previously known as the Revenue Cutter Service. Captain Fraser was one of a few men who greatly improved our coastal defense and established the foundation of the modern day Coast Guard. His rise through the Service from 1830 till 1850`s is well documented in the Coast Guard Archives. His achievements and dedication to duty were beyond the call of most men. It is to this remarkable man that this story is told by the author Bruce J Fraser, who was honored to write this short biography of his great-great grandfather Captain Alexander Varennes Fraser
