Kristen Ashley was born in Gary, Indiana, USA. She nearly killed her mother and herself making it into the world, seeing as she had the umbilical cord wrapped around her neck (already attempting to accessorise and she hadn't taken her first breath!).

Kristen grew up in Brownsburg, Indiana but has lived in Denver, Colorado and the West Country of England. Thus she has been blessed to have friends and family around the globe. Her posse is loopy (to say the least) but loopy is good when you want to write.

Kristen was raised in a house with a large and multi-generational family. They lived on a very small farm in a small town in the heartland and existed amongst the strains of Glenn Miller, The Everly Brothers, REO Speedwagon and Whitesnake (and the wardrobes that matched).

Needless to say, growing up in a house full of music, clothes and love was a good way to grow up.

And as she keeps growing up, it keeps getting better.

The second book in Kristen Ashley's 'The Three' series, 'With Everything I Am' tells the story of Callum and Sonia. Callum, the King of Werewolves, meets his mate when she is a young girl. Although their initial interaction was brief, Callum was never far from Sonia's mind.

Since she was a young girl, Sonia has dreamed about the wolf she "adopted" as a young girl. After the death of her parents, she is taken in by a family friend. Eventually her family's cabin and "her wolf" remain only in her dreams.

When Sonia is attacked, Callum is forced to claim his mate earlier than he had intended. The threat to her safety has made it imperative that Callum step in. He no longer has time for the prolonged "human" courtship that he had planned for Sonia.

Unaware of the existence of supernatural beings, Sonia dismisses everything Callum does as the actions of a madman. Clearly, he is unhinged and completely delusional. Initially thinking that she's been kidnapped for ransom, she soon decides that Callum is the leader of some fanatical cult instead. This made for some pretty comical situations as Callum tries to win Sonia over.

As Sonia comes to terms with the existence of werewolves and other supernatural beings, she slowly comes to question her own special abilities. Sonia has always had extremely heightened senses, but never knew the cause. Furthermore, she suffers from a debilitating illness that she must take daily injections to manage or risk suffering tremendously.

This book was definitely a slow-burn, as is typical of a Kristen Ashley book. At times, I found myself wondering if the storyline would ever progress. Similar to the first book, Callum was not upfront with Sonia about the prophecy and what she meant to him.

Eventually, everything between Callum and Sonia works itself out. Now two of the three prophesied couples have connected. Things are heating up and it is clear that war is on the horizon.

After finishing 'With Everything I Am', I was anxious to meet the third couple and see what Ms. Ashley has in store for these supernatural warriors. I am sure that the third book will prove to be much more action-oriented and dangerous. I cannot wait for Lucien's father to get what he has coming.

Overall, this was a great story. It was a little slow at times, but the characters and storyline were well-developed and engaging. I enjoyed Sonia's quirky personality and sense of humor quite a bit. I will definitely be continuing this series.

“The days, I can forget, baby doll. But the nights…” his voice dropped to a hoarse growl, filled with intense feeling, “the nights will be torture knowing I won’t have this for eternity.”

I wish I could end the review here cause that one word describes it all, but ok, I'll make an effort :D

I totally and absolutely loved this book Photobucket Photobucket
I totally and absolutely loved the story and KA's view on werewolves Photobucket
I totally and absolutely loved Callum Photobucket Photobucket
I liked Sonia PhotobucketPhotobucket
I totally and absolutely loved Lucien and Leah cameos PhotobucketPhotobucket

And

I totally and absolutely want to read the third book from this series - NOW! Photobucket Photobucket

The story

In his wolf form, and running from hunters through the forest, Callum finds a little girl who ends up saving his life Photobucket
She isn't afraid of him as a wolf, and thinks he's "her puppy", so she takes him to her parents' cabin where he manages to heal.
But destiny had something else for them too, they were soulmates, prophecised by their Oracle, and a part of the big Prophecy, mentioned in the previous book.
Thirty years later, Sonia still remembers "her puppy", and has dreams of her handsome wolf, vivid hot dreams (lucky her Photobucket ).
Callum wants to claim her as soon as possible, because there is a war coming, and he needs his queen by his side. The only problem is: she's human, and human females need courtship. Photobucket
But, of course, it doesn't go according to plan (does it ever?) when someone breaks into Sonia's house and tries to rape/kill her.
And there came Callum to the rescue!! Photobucket
Now there is only one teeny tiny problem Photobucket
He has a week to get to know her, explain everything and make her think he's not absolutely crazy when he says he's King of his nation Photobucket

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

"Callum showing her physically what it meant to support her during her times of struggle by holding her close, holding her strong. Showing her in ways she didn’t understand and couldn’t put her finger on that he stood between her and pain. Perhaps not able to halt it completely but he would be there to cushion the blow."

Callum

I am going swoony just at the mention of his name Photobucket Photobucket
He's the King, and has waited for over thirty years to claim his mate. Now that he has her with him, he doesn't know what destiny was thinking, pairing them together. They couldn't be more opposite!
But, of course, as time passes, Sonia shows her temper, and that he likes Photobucket , and next to his overprotective instincts, he slowly falls in love with her. Photobucket
I think the hardest was to read his reactions to her injections. Just awful. I kinda felt bad more for him than her! I'm crazy, I know Photobucket
Sometimes I wanted to kick his ass Photobucket for not explaining everything to Sonia. Yeah, man, I know it can be overwhelming, but she has to know! And it just leads to fighting and bad stuff :(
The ending, OMG the ending. I think my heart broke Photobucket and again, I think I felt more bad for him, poor baby Photobucket
But it turned out so so so wonderful Photobucket I cried happy tears :D

“You have to know, I didn’t think I would feel that way at first but every fucking second I was with you I realized it more and more. Every day, I would wake up and think you were perfect and every night I’d go to sleep thinking, somehow, during the day, you got even more perfect. If I could have wished what I thought was my perfect mate on the wind and had her come back to me in a storm, I could never have come up with anything as exquisite as you.”

Sonia

I liked her. A lot. But still, most of the time I just hated the fact that she misinterpreted every f*cking thing there was to misinterpret in this book. Photobucket I KNOW it's not her fault, I understand it all, she was pushed into an unknown world, surrounded by people who said the craziest things, and expected to marry/mate with a guy she just met in a week!
BUT! In my brain, it all led to heartbreak and fighting and everything, and she was the one where it all came from. So yeah. I just wanted her to know it all and think straight for once! Photobucket
Her disease - I knew from the beginning what it was Photobucket and I just couldn't understand why would they do that to her. Still kinda don't, but oh well. Poor Sonia.

Well, as I said, the ending was brilliant, first it ripped my heart out, then glued it back together Photobucket
And made me love them all the more Photobucket

The teaser was wicked! I want to know more! I want to read more, now! Photobucket

So thanks KA for this awesome paranormal series, I hope there's gonna be more than 3 books in here <3 I'd love to see Ryon's story Photobucket

Here's just one more quote and pic for the end:

“My glorious queen, I told you we’d have a beautiful life, you and I.”

5 brilliant stars!

So as not to bore you to tears, I’ll keep this short:

No surprise here since this is Kristen Ashley writing, but I LOVE THIS BOOK. Love the story, love Callum and Sonia, love the romance, love the sex – oh yeah, LOVE the sex! This book has it all and delivers it in true Kristen Ashley style: Hot, edgy, passionate and romantic, and I cannot ask for more than that!

Just a heads up for those who might not have been WOW’d by book 1, Until the Sun Falls From the Sky – don’t let that stop you from reading this story. It’s sooooooo freaking good! Seriously, one of my favorite PNR/Shifter stories, ever!

In fact, I've decided that KA should write an entire shifter series centering on this world she's created. Kristen Ashley and Werewolves? Oh, HELL YEAH!

Imagine if you will.... a woman attacked in the middle of the night in fer own home by strange men hell bent on rape, some serious maiming and possibly murder. Horrible isn't it? It would make a person very frightened.... But not our heroine...OH NOOOOO!!!

She wakes up after above mentioned attack to find herself in a house she thought was long gone, burned in a fire. The first thing she does is dry hump the guy that brought her there, but that's OK, she was half asleep and plagued by erotic dreams she had forever...we can forgive it.

Then in the next 24 hours he tells her he is a king of a different race of people and she is his prophesied mate. I dunno about you but I would have a few things going trough my mind... First would be how to contact the people who raised me to tell them I was held captive, second since my captor is going on about races and mating I would ask what is this race you are on about? Nop she doesn't to that either. She makes a half-arsed escape, not thinking of taking a cell phone that is in the cabin but running away to a cave about 20 feet away and bedding down for the night. (???!!!) Moving the fuck on...

After being brought back by our super, alpha, macho, sex god king she meekly accepts everything she hears (including that he fucks around) and decides that the best way to handle this situation would be putting up Christmas decorations and baking cookies.... So it's snowing outside, right? How much you wanna bet her IQ is lower then the outside temperature?

I truly detest spineless women who don't know their own worth. I mean she allows some random guy to storm in her life, take over every fucking aspect of it and tell her what to do in every moment. He was even like: My man just ran 20 miles woman, get to the kitchen and make him a meal. So he turns to his friend and asks, you want her to grill you a stake? I would see red at that point complete with empowered fire breathing dragon female rage, and most probably shove a frying pan up his ass for good measure.

I am only a few chapters into this book and I have to take a break, I will attempt the rest tomorrow...so far I am NOT AMUSED.

No....It doesn't get any better, it gets oh much much worse.....

So it's been a total of three days, Sonia has been claimed and then taken to meet the rest of Callum's people. As the couple proceeded to the throne room Sonia was briefed on “protocol”. To sum it up, do as you are told and shut up. She sat in his lap for the entire time not allowed to say one single word. After spending the entire day like that they eventually get to her house and she's pissed. She tells him so. This is some of his response.....

“I, obviously, should have explained this more clearly earlier but I didn’t. Now I am. The queen’s duty is to support her king. You stand by my side or sit in my lap, however I want it, and you listen, you learn and then, after I perform my duties, which can often be not so much fucking fun, you’re available for me.”
“Available for you?” she asked angrily.
“Available for me,” he repeated.
“And what does that mean?”
“It means whatever the fuck I want it to mean.”

Oh and....

“Right now, you’re going to perform your queenly duties by letting me use that sweet little body of yours to deal with my day and you’re going to love, every… fucking…  minute of it.”

He treats her like shit the entire time, like she has no brain, her thoughts don't matter, her needs don't matter. It got me fuming.

But then she starts to fight him off and it lasts for about one minute before she forgets everything and spreads her legs.

I am not finishing this crap....

5 Handsome Wolf stars!!!

 photo 43b83d9d-47d1-44c5-b4e5-100e19ce5e2b_zps1b02b157.jpg

Everyone knows Kristen Ashley knows how to do alpha males. She also knows how to do paranormal! So much better than the first book of this series. I fell for Callum. Once I started reading, I couldn’t put it down!

Callum and Sonia meet when Sonia is just a little girl. Sonia doesn’t know this wolf she finds in the woods is set to be her future mate, but she will eventually. Sonia has always had gifts. She hears a little better than most, has sharper senses and a way with animals. After her parents died at a young age, she has mostly kept to herself. Sonia has had vivid dreams since she was a teen. Dreams about her ‘puppy’ who brings her the man she calls ‘handsome wolf’.

Her ‘handsome wolf’s’ name is Callum. She had no idea this man really existed, but he does. And one day he saves Sonia. Then tells her he is king of his people. And they are destined to be mated. Sonia is in shock. As much as she tries to get away, wants to resist Callum, the man is irresistible.

“Come to your wolf, baby doll.”

Sonia and Callum don’t have the easiest start in their mating. Sonia is left in the dark. A lot. A majority of their issues could have been avoided if there would have been more honesty going on about the situation. Callum thought it best to ease her into it. Callum is THE alpha male. Not only is he a wolf, he is king of the wolves, therefore he is used to getting what he wants when he wants it. Sonia isn’t the kind of mate he was expecting. She doesn’t listen to everything he says and she’s got some fire to her. He likes her feisty nature. Even though he wasn’t sure if he would, he likes HER. Everything about her. It takes time, but as it grows, he knows Sonia truly is the one for him.
“I loved you before you took your first breath on this earth because that was my fate but you made me love you because you’re just… fucking… you.”

If I could have wished what I thought was my perfect mate on the wind and had her come back to me in a storm, I could never have come up with anything as exquisite as you.”

Sonia and Callum grew to be one of my favorite KA couples by the end of the book. I felt they complimented each other. The steam between them- off the charts HOT! I don’t know if it was the mating thing or what, but damn! I absolutely loved the nicknames... Baby doll, Handsome wolf. Swoon. Callum and Sonia lived in two different worlds. The adjustment wasn’t easy, but once Sonia took her place beside her king, it was beautiful.

Kristen Ashley- you rock my world with your most awesome books. I love going back reading some of these older ones I’ve never read.... this was a long book, but I didn't mind. It was packed with action, steam, alpha males and all that KA goodness. I’m so excited to see how this story ties up with the final ‘The Three’ book!

"With everything I am, everything I'm meant to be, baby doll. Always."

Another amazing paranormal book by Kristen Ashley!

Finding himself drawn out to the woods one night, Callum, a gorgeous Alpha werewolf prince, comes across a young, blonde child roaming about who ends up saving his life. Little does he know that she is destined to be his queen one day...

Sonia is gifted. Special. She has abilities and heightened senses that others don't but has been taught her whole life to keep it a secret making her life quite lonely. But when a plot to harm his destined mate is hatched, Callum is forced to intervene and rescue her throwing her straight into a world she never knew existed. And before she knows it, Sonia finds herself claimed, and bound to him, with only one week to familiarize herself with his world, his culture, and him before their mating ceremony where she will become his queen.

But Sonia has a rare blood disease, and with Callum being an immortal werewolf, he is faced with the tragic certainty that no matter how strongly he loves her, his time with her as a mortal will be fleeting.

Despite their physical attraction, they actually took a while to warm up to each other. Poor Sonia thought he was her kidnapper at first. And Callum just didn't have the time or patience to deal with courting her the human way. But, despite his frustrations, he couldn't help but fall for her.

Callum was about as Alpha as you get. He was a werewolf King who believed in duty first above all things. He was bossy, bossy, bossy, and arrogant. His duty to his kingdom came first and despite loving to play in bed, romance did not come naturally to him at first.

"It wasn't simply that Callum didn't have time for this ridiculousness (which he didn't). Callum didn't date. He didn't court. He seized."

But the more time he spent with Sonia, the more she warmed him.

Now, I know that the werewolves' culture is different than ours and I tried my best to be accepting of it, but there were definitely some aspects of it that were just sexist to an extreme and kind of rubbed me the wrong way - how he'd insist on her sitting in his lap at all times (even meal time), how the Queen's duty was to be silent and basically just be there to fulfill any needs her King might have... it took me a while to get used to the fact that this was just the way of their culture. But the more we learned about it and how utterly different than ours it was, the more I found myself able to appreciate how hard he was trying to make things good for her by her culture's terms despite it not really seeming so from the outside.

"I believe I told you at e time that it was the way of my people."...
"Yes, and I believe it was also once the way of my people to treat diseases by using leeches but they found another way that works a whole lot better so now they're doing that."

But the way Callum kept ordering her around bothered me. The words "allowed", "ordered", "demanded" just didn't sit right. I didn't like how he was always making decisions for her without asking her first. Dragging her here and there without explanation. I knew that he loved her and cared for her, but that part of his behavior almost detached me a little from him. And I wish that Sonia had fought him a little harder. She wasn't a doormat by any means, but she gave in in a lot of places where I kind of wished she'd have just given him the middle finger.

"Did your people skip past the twentieth century?"

"You defy me again, I'll take you to that bed and make you my queen right... fucking... now."

But I will say though that when FINALLY, she was able to confront her about how she felt about the whole thing, that he was able to see her side and apologize. That definitely made me warm up to him more.

That being said, if there is any author out there who can turn my head around make me sympathetic to even the biggest Alpha jerk and make me coo and melt over him, its Kristen Ashley.

Callum's fierce protectiveness and clearly intense love for her gave me shivers on more than one occasion. I liked watching him clue in (albeit very slowly) to the fact that maybe this whole scenario wasn't as easy on her as he assumed it might be and then how he found all these ways to go out of his way to bring happiness into her life. It was really sweet :)

I guess the bottom line about the way I felt about Callum was that, unlike with Lucien in the previous book, he didn't come out and do anything that really ticked me off but his cultural expectations and nature were just so vastly different that it gave me the squinty eyes on more than a few occasions.

And then the more their story went on, the more open he became to little compromises and accepting more parts of her culture as well. And the more he did that, the more I fell in love with him.

I felt strongly for Sonia. For her frustrations with the world and with Callum. I totally understood why she'd feel the way she did but I didn't like how every time she'd decide to confront him about her feelings, all he needed to do was breathe the same air as her and her resolve would vanish.

It did take them both a while for their issues to come out into the open but I did love that once it was confession time, EVERYTHING was put out there. No holding back. It was a great feeling.

And you just gotta love a man who can say, "I fucked up, baby doll." and still retain all his Alpha-ness.

Both Callum and Sonia had very valid view points given their vastly different worlds and I thought that KA did a brilliant job of making you see both sides of a story that seemed so clear cut at first glance.

And I did really love how they compromised in the end. It wasn't all about one of them giving themselves up for the other, I felt like they both made changes to accept the other's culture into their lives :)

"I'll make you a deal... I'll help you understand my people and you help me understand yours."

Oh, and can I just throw out a HUGE shout-out to Ryon! He seriously gave Cal a run for his money for swooniest werewolf in this story. God, I want a whole book about him!! I totally fell in love!

I loved that the Prophecies we were introduced to in the first book continued straight through to this one. Once the characters were established, we got to see how they fit into the overall scheme of things.

And LUCIEN!!!!!!!!! We get a wonderful (longish) cameo from both Lucien and Leah. I loved seeing them again. Seeing how in love they were, how strong their bond was. It was a wonderful treat to see so much of them after the ending of their book.

There was loads of hotness in this book. I mean between the claiming, and the intense animal attraction and the whole lifemate-can't-get-enough-of-you bond... *whew* *fans self*

"Baby doll, you're about to be claimed."

I really have to say that with Kristen Ashley's book, you REALLY get your money's worth. Her books are long, packed with awesome stories and gorgeous characters, and just overall pure win.

"I loved you before you took your first breath on this earth because that was my fate but you made me love you because your just... fucking... you."

I absolutely can't wait for the third book to see how everything is going to tie in together with the Prophecy. I and predict lots of epic badass Alpha moments with Lucien, Callum and the next hero. SQUEEEE!!

Here's my casting for Callum:

5 “Are you mine?” Stars

This time we’re headed to the werewolf world, where there King, Callum is finally being mated with his mate, Sonia, after being secretly protecting since her birth, for the last 31 years.
The problem? He’s immortal, she is human.
If that wasn’t bad enough prophecies are lurking in the corner, waiting for being fulfilled which meats the beginning of the biggest war that both humans and paranormal creatures ever seen.
Callum wants a way of keep Sonia with him eternally, or at least take the most of the years they get to be together. But what if those years are shorter than neither of them can even imagine?

description

Being a “Phoenix Pack” fan for a while, I honestly couldn’t believe that anyone could write about werewolves so well like Suzanne Wright. I will not say that KA was better, but she was equally good. It’s more than proven by now that she can write basically anything. Werewolves, vampires, enemies, prophesies, wars, death threats and an amazing love story? This book had It ALL. And so amazingly wrapped up that will not out it down. Seriously, it’s impossible. I’ve tried. So grab a good cup of coffee, lay on the couch and get ready for an amazing ride!

Rating: 5 Stars.
Characters Development: After being agitated with the hero basically during all length of the previous book, this was a great surprise. I loved, loved, LOVED Callum. What an amazing guy/werewolf and sexy alpha-male he was. By now we know that KA writes the best alpha of them all, and this guy was no exception. Definitely earned a spot along with my KA favorite heroes: Liam Nightingale and James Bennet! Sonia was also pretty good, sassy, and strong and sweet, just like KA also got us used to. An amazing group of supporting characters and we got to see more of Lucian and Leah and we also have a glimpse of the next couple.

4 to 4 1/2 WONDERFUL stars!

I had a blast reading this book! I loved the plot. I loved the world building. I really loved the werewolves. And I especially loved the two main characters, Callum and Sonia. I could have done without the constant misunderstandings, but I had a lot of fun getting to know them individually as well as a couple. They had incredible chemistry right from the start, which made for delightful interactions and heated love scenes.

After struggling so much with Until the Sun Falls from the Sky, the first book in this series, I wasn't sure I wanted to continue with this saga. I'm so glad I listened to my fellow KA friends and gave this book a try. I LOVED it! This is the Kristen Ashley I know and love!

By now, I can say for certain that probably there won't be a Kristen Ashley book I won't enjoy. Her writing style, her almost obsessive attention to detail and description just appeals to me. I feel, as if I am with her heroes in the room, observing and experiencing their elation and despair along with them. Her love scenes make me fan myself (that's where the wine comes in handy) and her heroes are the just right amount of badass!

description

Book specific points
* Cover:
I love the cover. Hands down the best of her books for me. Don't ask me why, the forest scene and the gold, glowing lettering, just appeal to me.
* Story:
A book in her Three series, regarding a prophecy concerning vampires, werewolves and humans. The werewolf King must claim his human mate and come to terms with the fact she has a mortal lifespan and no clue of his kind.
* Characters:
Callum is the typical Ashley male. Badass but deeply in love with his mate! If only he had opened his gorgeous mouth sooner and revealed the truth we could have avoided a lot of heartache and 200 pages...

Sonia is a sick human, alone since her parents death, weak and frail but with some strange capabilities that has to hide. Her only solace are her dreams of a wolf she saved in childhood and a gorgeous male who visits her and of course Christmas. She is thrust into the middle of an unbelievable situation and she tries to make the most of it but is it possible to guard her heart against Callum? I could do without her constant doubting and thinking the worst of everything...

All the secondary cast was PERFECT! No complaint there, I just love them all and the werewolves habits were fracking amazing!

description

We even got a glimpse of Lucien and Leah and I liked them more than in their own book.

We also got an intriguing but vague introduction to the last couple and I can't wait for the last book and the breakout of the war that we got teased with in the first two books!

If you are a fan of Kristen Ashley you will certainly enjoy this book! If you are a newbie, this isn't the book to start with! It certainly stands alone but you will savior the Ashley experience better if you start with the contemporary ones.

I love you Kristen Ashley! You make me believe in fairytales and happily ever afters and that I will find my dream man... or that he will find me ;) !!!

I was in the mood for a wee bit of a growly hero...

Embarrassing but true, I cried AGAIN listening to this one. You would think after multiple reads/listens it wouldn't leave me so emotional but it did.

I really love this narration and I would seriously consider going on a Stella Bloom marathon...as long as they're romance...and by KA... and if it's as good as this one.

I will definitely be back for a re-read/listen in the future. I love it that much.

**********

Can I give extra stars because the audio is so good?

With Everything I Am was already a five-star read for me because the story is so bloody good. When it came to listening to the audio, even though I shouldn’t, I kind of went in with low expectations. See, there’s a lot the narrator has to get right for it to keep that 5-star rating. It has to make me feel, experience and live what I’m hearing. I need the emotions to be conveyed and have my heart shredded and brought back to beating. A really good narrator will have me laughing out loud, sniffling and gritting my teeth…because that is what I would feel and experience reading a KA myself. Stella Bloom absolutely bloody NAILED IT!!

As you may already know, I’ve started listening to audiobooks on the train to work. I knew the potential mess I would be if I happened to be travelling when I reached certain parts of this book. There is NOTHING worse than trying to avoid the eyes of the passenger across from you when the tears are threatening to fall. My throat gets tingly and the sniffling starts. Do I stop? No, I just can’t do it. I need to go on. So, I tuck myself in the corner, face the window and try to hide my emotions. This…is just another part of reading and it’s something I adore. I’m never embarrassed about it. I love the emotions I feel from a bloody good book. If someone was to tap me on the shoulder and ask if I was OK, I can promise you that the poor bugger would regret that they asked. The poor sucker would then have to listen to me as I tell them in depth what just happened. Ask my family, I do it ALL THE TIME!

With Everything I Am is the second book in The Three series and by far my favourite. Callum and Sonia are pre-destined mates. Callum is a werewolf and also King of his kind. Sonia is a human. Callum has known Sonia for a very long time and was just waiting for her to reach adulthood. He had plans to court her before making her his mate and Queen. The plans go a little haywire when rebels try to capture and kill Sonia before Callum has claimed her. Luckily, Callum finds out and manages to save the day. Lickety-split, Callum drags Sonia to a private cabin and orders her to accept him as hubby/mate so he can protect her.

Oooh boy…Sonia’s not too stoked about Callum’s lack of charm but bites her tongue and goes along with the plan. Hmmm, Callum probably should have come straight out and mentioned a few pertinent facts as well. Poor Sonia ends up having way too many surprises piled onto her very human shoulders that eventually pushes her over the edge. Luckily, Sonia’s pretty resilient and Callum is patient…most of the time, and they manage to get things all cleared up.

It's HOT!! It's EXCITING!! It's bossy Alpha Male who knows what he wants and takes it. It's a vulnerable and sweet heroine who loves with her whole heart. IT'S PERFECT!!

Anyways, the plot is brilliant, the characters are very engaging, and the love story is beautiful. Yes, it’s part of a series but I can honestly say that it could easily stand alone as a fantastic paranormal romance. There are parts that revolve around the ongoing saga (which joins the three books together) but I think it holds its own.

After experiencing some exceptional new audios of late, I’ve decided to go back and visit my Rock Chick mates and get a Lee and Indy fix. I’m sure this will bring on a Rock Chick marathon…YAY!! See you on the flipside.

5++++ FANTASTIC BRILLIANT STARS!!!!

With Everything I Am Is everything we come to expect from a KA book & more...sexy, smokin' hot, fantastic, brilliant, fabulous, and anything else you can think of!!

Callum is a HOT Alpha Warewolf who is destined to mate with a human who, as a child saves him. Sonia dreams of her "Wolf" and "Pretty Puppy" all though her lonely childhood not knowing what the future holds for her. When the time comes for Callum to claim his mate Sonia, he "claims" her as only a KA Alpha can claim a mate, mortal or immortal.

"You defy me again, I'll take you to that bed and make you my queen right... fucking... now.”

“I loved you before you took your first breath on this earth because that was my fate but you made me love you because you’re just… fucking… you.”

I absolutely LOVED this book and it will be added to my KA favorite(s) shelf. I cannot believe I was so reluctant to read KA's PRN books. Thank you Karla & Kellie for a fantastic buddy read of Until the Sun Falls from the Sky without your suggestion for a buddy read I may have put off reading this one too and I would have totally missed out!!

"With everything I am, baby doll, and everything I'm meant to be."

description

A sweet, paranormal romance told from alternating POV's. As a child Sonia meets her destiny in the woods, a wolf named Callum. Her life is changed that night, in more ways than one. She spends the next 31 years dreaming of her 'puppy' and eventually, her 'handsome wolf'. Now, at 37, she is reunited with Callum, when she is told she is to be his mate.

"Baby doll, you're about to be claimed."

Now, I have to be honest, I have a major issue with this book...Sonia, this woman is thrown into a world she knows nothing about, told Callum and his family are 'not human,' but she NEVER asks what they are! Seriously?!?!? WTF? I just can't wrap my head around it. And guess when the truth finally comes out... Also, most of the issues this couple has is a result of her assuming things and TONS of miscommunication. It just annoyed the shit out of me. I can see why lots of readers will enjoy this one, but it felt like a lot of arguing, sex, more arguing, some sweetness, a little bit of story, more arguing, some rough sex, etc. There were sweet, swoon-worthy moments, and times I was hooked to my kindle, but the above mentioned issues really distracted me.

"I loved you before you took your first breath on this earth because that was my fate but you made me love you because you’re just… fucking… you."

As with most KA books, this one was entertaining and Callum was a grade A alpha, the sex was steamy and the story was interesting enough to keep me reading.

*4.5* This one is very much a KA paranormal romance, dramatic, emotional, and packed with fated-mate intensity.

I liked the premise of Sonia, a woman with unusual gifts and a fragile health condition, being swept into the werewolf world as Callum’s destined queen. Their bond is both tender and overwhelming.

The pacing sometimes drags, and there are sections where the dynamic between Callum and Sonia feels more frustrating than romantic. Would the two of you just TALK already??!!

The combination of an epic love story, high-stakes politics, and paranormal danger is pure KA, OTT, messy, and yet still strangely addictive.

Tropes/themes:
Fated mates
Wolf shifter king
PNR politics
Heroine with hidden abilities
Overprotective alpha
Communication issues
Slight age gap - He is 383, she is 33

Holy shit !!! Swoon overload !!! This book was perfection to me !!! There was such a beautiful, heartfelt love story here ..... My heart was just filled to the brim !

" I loved you before you took your first breath on this earth because that was my fate but you made me love you because you're just ..... Fucking....you."

"Wolves mate for life."
"What?" she asked.
"We mate for life. We never cheat. We're never unfaithful. We never leave. We mate for life. Our instinct, everything that makes us, everything that is us centers around our mate, our pack, our family. It's the only thing that matters."

And it's everything I am to you. Your protector, and I'm also your possessor.

Sonia

All of this leaving her feeling pampered, desired, protected and adored.

This story was so passionate. Their physical attraction was off the charts. Wowzaaa. I could not even control the swoons! Now I understand why this is my sweets Christine's number one and why she held back on me !!! I see how it is !!!

Destiny. Fate. Prophecies.

I melted. Then everything erupted into a molten lava hot mess. Then I melted some more.

"Are you mine?"
"I'm yours."

ALL HAIL TO THE KING & QUEEN OF THE WOLVES!!!

"That's us I bathed you with, little one. Us," he growled, the intensity of his tone proving the moment was profound. "And we're...fucking...beautiful."

Callum is the wolf of Sonia’s dreams and mine too!

description

This book is WOLF-TASTIC! If you enjoyed the first installment in this series then you will LOVE the story of Callum and Sonia!

Wolves, Vampires, Prophesies, Plots and Oracles made this book a real page turner and I’m just going to say it…It was an EPIC read!

Sonia Arlington was a sick and gifted child. She found happiness and peace in the woods by her parent’s cabin. One night she ran into her destiny and displayed courage and compassion by protecting an injured wolf against violent hunters. She fell in love with the wolf whom she called “her puppy” and from the moment on she slept with a wolf stuff animal to remember him by.

In Sonia’s dreams her “puppy” would visit and would always bring her the “handsome wolf”.

Callum is the Wolf King. Lets remember who the author is and boy can she write swoon worthy male characters. He is bossy and also loyal, strong and has rightfully earned a spot in my top five book boy friend list. He has come years later to claim Sonia as his Queen.

There’s marking, claiming, terms of endearment “baby doll”, sleeping connected, and some pretty tender moments as well as hot moments.

A relationship between a wolf and human has its culture issues. This story takes a lot of twists and turns. This reader cried and loved every minute.

”And I you, my handsome wolf. With everything I am, with everything I’m meant to be and with eternity to be it in, that’s a lot.”

It was absolutely beautiful! Thank you Kristen Ashley!

Twas time for another reread 😜

Well...this is KA....so of course I loved this book !! Awesome ! I did come to find out that the books in these series are actually connected (I thought they were stand alones), so I started with the wrong book. Doesn't matter because I still fully understood what was going on. Just means I'll have to go back and read book 1. I loved the hero and heroine in this book. Callum (such an awesome name) was deliciously alpha. Sonia was a sweet and strong heroine...I really liked her. I wouldn't have put up with all his shit, the way she did, but i understood were she was coming from. My heart broke for her on more than one occasion. I only started reading paranormal and shifters recently, because I only like it when it's done really well. This one was done really really well !! But I should have expected that from KA.

5 stars from me

“You defy me again, I'll take you to that bed and make you my queen right... fucking... now.”

“My people like to sing,” he informed her easily. “They like it best when they’re shitfaced.”

"Chest hair that only the hand of God could have created after which, God could only remark, "My work here is done." Callum's chest hair was just...that...perfect."

“That’s us I bathed you with, little one. Us,” he growled, the intensity of his tone proving the moment was profound. “And we’re… fucking… beautiful.”

“And it’s everything I am to you.” His arms moved in tighter at her sides. “Your protector,” he ran his lips around the curve of her ear and she trembled underneath him before he murmured, “lift your ass for me, little one, I want to go deep,” without hesitation, Sonia did as she was told and Callum did what he wanted, muttering, “and I’m also your possessor.”

“With everything I am, everything I’m meant to be, baby doll. Always.”

The Oracle has spoken and their fate has been determined. Callum came to Sonia when she was a little girl, something called to him and knew that he had to be with her, finding out the reason when his father brings news of her parent’s murder and a piece of the prophecy. Years later we find that Callum is now King and Sonia is living a lonely life by choice. Being alone was the only way to protect her secret. Callum receives news that the rebel army has moved to hurt his destined life-mate and threw away all plans of courtship to save her. Callum has one week to claim his life-mate and prepare her for her new life.
“You’re my mate, Sonia, my queen,” he announced, his voice the exact same as his face, his words, quite simply, were mad. “You were destined for me before you were even conceived. I’ve been waiting for you for longer than you can imagine.”

Sonia can’t believe it her dream man is real, but she has to protect herself, protect her secret Everyone around her is explaining her destiny, she knows she has a duty to fulfill and she will stand by his side, but she has to be strong enough to not let him take everything. The difference in culture is a big shock to them both, although Sonia does not know that Callum is a wolf, she believes his ways are downright mid-evil, who speaks of claiming and mating ???
“That’s us I bathed you with, little one. Us,” he growled, the intensity of his tone proving the moment was profound. “And we’re… fucking… beautiful.”

Callum can’t believe his luck, his life-mate has turned his world upside down, she is the only person to drive him up the wall and shatter any self-control he possess. If he didn’t know for a fact that she was human he would think she was a she-wolf. And no matter how much Sonia tells herself that she will do her duty, she can’t deny how alive she feels in his arms.
“It’s everything we are.” He slid out a bare inch then settled back in. “The connection, our connection, so fucking strong.” There was a depth in his voice that slithered lazily through her system and then settled there in a way that felt like forever. He went on, “And it’s everything I am to you.” His arms moved in tighter at her sides. “Your protector,” he ran his lips around the curve of her ear and she trembled underneath him before he murmured, “lift your ass for me, little one, I want to go deep,” without hesitation, Sonia did as she was told and Callum did what he wanted, muttering, “and I’m also your possessor.”

Their union was as close to perfect when they didn’t have to communicate with words, but even with all the time they spend together, things are overheard, assumptions are made and doubt begins to fester. The longer it takes for Cal to share his secret the farther Sonia withdraws emotionally. Callum tries to prepare Sonia for the news of what he and his kind truly are, but there are things he cannot ignore, his kingly duties, meddling family members and the rebellion war. All a test that will prove how strong their love is.
“You know I love you?” she asked.

“You know I love you?” he asked back by way of answer.

“With everything you are,” she whispered.

He dipped his face to hers and murmured with feeling, “With everything I am, baby doll.”

“And I you, my handsome wolf. With everything I am, with everything I’m meant to be ...”

Lucien and Leah make an appearance and there is more talk of the prophecy and what will come to be, all they have to do is wait
The third lifemates needed to be found, the female claimed and bound before The Prophesies could come true.

********************************************

With Everything I Am, was a book filled with angst and heat, Callum and Sonia were easy to love even when he was being a bossy-King and she a self-absorbed human. I found myself yelling at my kindle more than once,

I can’t wait for the last(?) book in this series, maybe it will be a really really long book, or we get the full 3rd life-mate story and the prophecy as a 4th ???

Review posted to: Swept Away By Romance

4.5 Stars
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Heat Barometer: 5 out of 5 stars

With Everything I Am was a Beasty and Fabulous read. I am usually not drawn to anything paranormal. I think I overdid it in this genre years ago and I got bored with it. That being said KA’s paranormals work for me because they aren’t over the top. Her stories are more about the romance, the “hit you in the heart dialog”, and the arrogant alphas (and their perfect matches). These are the things I look for in a story and KA is the master for me. You also have the wonderful settings and environments that KA creates and describes with vivid detail throughout the whole book. The castle and cabin’s décor were magical and comforting, as well as, the clothes…to die for. There was a belly chain that was pretty erotic too, I liked its meaning.

I knew as soon as I started the prologue this was going to be another thrill ride. Callum is the Werewolves’ King and he has been shot. His protectiveness draws him to the woods where he meets a young, 5 year old girl, Sonia. She isn’t scared of him and actually saves him from the hunters. Unknown to him until then, she is his mate. He can’t believe it; she is human and he is the king.

He is also bossy, chauvinistic, demanding, controlling. This you find out 31 years later, when Sonia and Callum are brought back together. “The All Powerful Callum” was never challenged, always obeyed and I grew to loved him. The werewolves were a lusty group, they liked to party, and their rituals were sexy and of course, animalistic…(ooh la la, lots of goose bumps and tinglies here). I felt KA went beyond her usual is this department, which can tend to be a little abrupt, instead of sensual. She did a wonderful job with the sex scenes in making them new and fresh with scorching hot dialog and well described positions. There was also lots and lots of whoopee because WOLFMEN can never get enough.

My heart broke for Sonia, as I got to know the older her in the story. She was alone in the world, had dealt with tragedy, and was afraid to show her true self and abilities. She had some unique qualities as a human, but because of them she had always been considered weird. Callum didn’t really want Sonia, it was more of a duty and he always did his “duty” as king. He thought she was pampered, obedient, pretty (but he didn’t like blondes), and too health conscience about food. He thought he was settling for her and she made him yawn- it was maddening and sad. She dreamt or thought about him everyday since she was five years old, but of course she didn’t know him in human form, he just reminded her of “her wolf”. She did have her moments where she would take a stand, but many times she would tolerate his domineering behavior and internalize her unhappiness. I wanted to scream "LET HIM HAVE IT"!! I wished for more sass and volcanic explosions, but it was more gentling. I probably began to like Callum sooner because he saw her sweetness and how perfect she was for him.

Even though I couldn’t put the book down unless forced to because of life, I felt the story went a little on cruise control over half way through instead of the warp speed like in the beginning. What was missing for me? The secondary love story or the young love that KA sometimes develops in her plots. It tends to add the spice and sexual tension once the H&h come together and it keeps me going through her wonderfully long books. That being said you still get a spectacularly twisted plot with many conflicts, heart pounding action, and a beautiful epilogue.

If you enjoyed book 1, Until the Sun Falls from the Sky, and love Kristen Ashley’s writing style, characters, heartfelt dialog that is sigh worthy, you won’t be disappointed. I do feel I benefited from reading book 1 first, especially once you get to the action and plot in the second half. It was fun to catch up with the H&h, Lucien and Leah too. Happy Reading!

Usually, I love Kristen Ashley's work. However, this book made me want to pull my hair out.
I understand that Kristen Ashley portrayed werewolf culture was different from human culture, but this time, she went too far.

The male protagonist, Callum, refused to listen or ask the female protagonist, Sonia, what she wanted or desired, even after he was told by his cousin (repeatedly) that human women are not like she-wolves. He did what he wanted and she had to go along with it. And, when Sonia did stand up for herself, he thought she wanted it "rough".

Sonia, on the other hand, was an idiot. She didn't stand up for herself and tell Cal what she wants or needs. Instead, she let things fester inside. When she does finally decide to tell Callum what she's feeling, Cal gives her a slight explanation and she melts. Then the cycle repeats itself.

In conclusion, she's an idiot. He's an idiot. They're both idiots.

It took me a week to get through this book; normally, it only takes me a day to read a Kristen Ashley book, I get so absorbed.

4.5 King Wolf Stars

I’m starting to REALLY like this series. Oh my gosh. If you loved Until the Sun Falls from the Sky, then you will LOVE With Everything I Am. I felt like this one had EVERYTHING I looked for in a KA novel.

Strong Alpha Check

Adorable HeroineCheck

Crazy, sexual tensionCheck

Interesting, page-turning plot Check

Unforgettable Steamy ScenesDouble Check

This was a GREAT book. This is Callum and Sonia story, which happens to be the wolf story. I’m a fan of paranormal reads and I love how KA wrote these. There’s no crazy language or hard stories to follow. It’s simple and straight forward. The main plot is the about the two characters, nothing less and nothing more. It’s Perfect.

The prologue was fantastic. I was hooked from the beginning and I had to dive into the story. Callum will soon be King and when he is, he will need a Queen. Before Sonia’s birth, she has been destined to be Queen. The thing is, she is human and she doesn’t know she is going to be Callum’s Queen.

I loved how Callum knew about Sonia and when it was time for Sonia to be Queen, he went all out on her. He wanted to claim her and bring her back to his people. I also loved that Sonia is human and she has no idea what wolves and vampires are.

So a HUGE part of the book is Callum and Sonia working on the relationship. I love it when a big, dominate male chases away the Heroine. It just gives me a tingly sensation in my belly and I can’t get enough of it. It’s super cute to read Callum telling what Sonia needs to do, like cook, clean and when to speak. It’s also funny to read Sonia finding the situation so difficult.

Sonia does frustrate me at times and there’s mild angst towards the middle. Everyone knows I’m not a fan of angst, but it didn’t really bother me so much. Also, I usually don’t like long books, but I seriously couldn’t put this sucker down.

It’s just that good

If you are a fan of the series, you will not be disappointed with this one. I can’t wait to read the final book.

He was running.....

Running towards something.....but he didn't know what.....

Something had drawn him to this forest, so much as called out to him.

As he ran, he sensed it again, out there. It was close, whatever it was and the pull of it was so strong, it made him momentarily lose focus.

He skidded to a painful halt, the snow blossoming out in white wings at his sides.

He stared.

A child. Wearing a pink hat, scarf, boots and mittens and a navy coat, her long blonde hair falling down her shoulders.

Her green eyes were on him.

That's how they meet for the first time.

That night she protects him.....she innocently calls him her "puppy" not knowing that he is her destiny, her fate, her mate, her everything.....

And so the connection begins.....

31 YEARS LATER......

I've never gone with the wind
Just let it flow
Let it take me where it wants to go

Meet Sonia Arlington. She is the daughter of former Senator Lassiter Arlington and Cherise Arlington who were assassinated 31 years ago. She has been lonely for a long time and has accepted that she always will be. Because she has secrets which she cannot let anyone discover. A promise to her dead father binds her from opening up completely to anyone....not even to her guardian, her father-like figure Gregor.....no one. She was gifted, her father had told her. She sensed things. Strange things. She smelled things too. Things others didn't smell. And these were only part of her many gifts. And she could share it with no one.....not even the fact that she had a very rare disease which if left untreated might kill her.....

Till you open the door
There's so much more
I've never seen it before

But one day, at the end of a very normal, usual day everything changes and her normal, happy, lonely life turns upside down....when her handsome wolf, someone about whom she has had dreams for years now, comes barging into her life...

Dark eyebrows, sky blue eyes, strong jaw, interesting nose, full bottom lip. He was, put simply, beautiful.

Meet Callum.

He's Strong.

Tall ( I mean seriously tall).

Handsome.

Arrogant (way too arrogant).

Sweet (oh so sweet).

A Medieval Caveman ( I mean seriously, my inner feminist was shrieking with outrage at some of his tactics, expectations, and actions!!).

AAANNND.....

A WERE-FREAKING-WOLF!!!!!!!!!!
(Sorry, can't help my excitement....I've read a paranormal romance after sooooooooooooooo long!!! ;) )

HA! Not just any werewolf but he's the KING OF WEREWOLVES!!! :D

And he's determined to have his mate, to claim her......and impatient, very impatient.....

He didn’t tease her.
He didn’t let her wrap her limbs around him.
He didn’t wait for her invitation.
He slanted his head and he kissed her.
Ho.
Lee.
Cow!
Sonia absolutely loved this dream!
Her mouth opened under his and that was it.
Explosion.
Not gentle.
Huge.
And consuming.

He wants to spend an eternity with her but has only decades of her human life or maybe even less....

“The days, I can forget, baby doll. But the nights…” his voice dropped to a hoarse growl, filled with intense feeling, “the nights will be torture knowing I won’t have this for eternity.”

And so without wasting any time he begins the claiming or his version of courting his queen.....

“Now, take your hands off me,” she demanded.
“No,” he replied.
She went even stiffer.
Callum ignored it again.
“My people are affectionate, Sonia. We touch. We hug. We cuddle.” Amongst other, more pleasurable things he decided it sensible not to share at that moment. “You’re going to need to get used to this.”

Affectionate??? That term is like the understatement of the year....
He expects, NO, COMMANDS her to sit on his lap always.....I mean seriously always....

"The queen’s duty is to support her king.

Yep, told ya!!!

His people have apparently skipped the 20th century and come straight from the 19th to the 21st century!!!

And he thinks everything is perfectly alright.....freaking perfect....until Ryon, his cousin (whom I seriously liked a lot!!!) enlightens him....

Ryon pulled in an annoyed breath and explained, “Cal, she-wolves don’t hide their emotions. You know where you stand. They’re pissed, they come at you. They feel playful, they jump you. They need affection, they nuzzle you. They want something, they ask for it and you get it for them. Female humans are not like that. They communicate in a kind of… a kind of…” he hesitated before snapping out the word, “code that only they understand. Half the time, you’ll never have any fucking clue what’s going on in their heads. Female humans’ minds are like the answer to the meaning of life, impossible to decipher.”

Poor, poor, clueless Callum!!!! *pointing finger and laughing*

But even though he acted like a medieval jerk sometimes....he still managed to make me fall for him....Managed??? *snorts* He made me fall for him spectacularly.....

With his temple, he nuzzled her own then down her cheek, to her jaw, up again and into her hair.

This tender, beautiful gesture was him marking her, his mate, claiming her as his own.....*sigh*

I was trying to fly
But I couldn't find wings
Then you came along
And you changed everything

He gives her the best Christmas she's had in 31 years (And trust me when I say that she had a thing for Christmas....I mean she starts preparing for the next Christmas even before the current one is over....and she does this every year!!!)......and vows that she would never be lonely again....especially not when she needed him....when she's in pain.........And with him she'll never have to hide again.....

“Sonia, no one will ever hurt you. Not when you’re with me.”
She felt a different kind of tremble slide through her body.
Because his voice wasn’t firm when he said that.
His deep, rich voice was rock-solid. Like those words weren’t just words, they were a sacred vow.

And so he claims her.....

“Baby doll, you’re about to be claimed.”

Makes her his own forever.......

But she claims him too in her own special way......

In the box was a wide, simple, gold, human man’s wedding band.

Staring at the often neglected symbol of another culture’s connection between male and female, Callum felt something shift in him so huge it was as if the entire room moved. His chest tightened as did his gut but his mind blanked of everything but that fucking ring.

“Put it on me,” he ordered, his voice so thick it was almost harsh.

And she brings out his merciful side, his compassionate side.....

...my wolf, compassion is often mistaken for weakness when the fact is, there is very little that is more powerful than the courage it takes to give it. The one thing I know that’s even more powerful is the courage it takes to forge your own path, make your own mark and in doing so, make change. Leaders who follow are never remembered because they aren’t actually leaders. Leaders who are trailblazers, who lead their people to better horizons, who do that with strength, wisdom and compassion are revered.....

And he promises her that they will have a beautiful life together......

“My glorious queen, I told you we’d have a beautiful life, you and I.”

But for how long????

What will he do when she's gone???

When his whole eternity is yawning before him without her???

He’d die for her. She was in a very important sense, his reason for being.

"If I could have wished what I thought was my perfect mate on the wind and had her come back to me in a storm, I could never have come up with anything as exquisite as you.”

“I loved you before you took your first breath on this earth because that was my fate but you made me love you because you’re just… fucking… you.”

You stood by me and I stood tall
I had your love, I had it all
I'm grateful for each day you gave me

Maybe, I don't know that much
But I know this much is true
I was blessed because
I was loved by you

So what will happen when his mate, his queen dies??? Because she will.....the oracle has spoken.....the prophecy has been made.....

Her human life will be fleeting....

It's a beautiful story.......a wonderful experience.....don't miss out on it.....

“Wolves mate for life. We never cheat. We’re never unfaithful. We never leave. We mate for life. Our instinct, everything that makes us, everything that is us centers around our mate, our pack, our family. It’s the only thing that matters. Not beauty, not youth.”

I want a wolf of my own!!!!!!!!!!!

*deep breath* Ok, coming back to the point at hand....

Will this wolf get his mate for an eternity??? Or will he have to exist forever in agony without his love, his life, his wife???

To live the perfect dream with the perfect woman what amounts to a blink in your long life only to have it swept pitilessly away and then find a way to be happy for eternity?
Impossible, Callum thought.

Read the book and find out......

“Cal?” she called.

His eyes opened instantly, they were golden, she loved that so much she felt her heart swell and she whispered, “You love me?”

He answered without hesitation. “With everything I am, baby doll, and everything I’m meant to be.”

Both his hands came to her head, sliding into her hair, pushing it back.

Then he stated throatily, “You love me.”

Sonia rested her lips against his but with her eyes open and, staring in his, she whispered, “With everything I am, wolf, and everything I’m meant to be.”

Three cheers for Kristen Ashley, she’s done it again! I knew it was going to be good. I planned my weekend around this book’s release, clearing my schedule so that I could get totally absorbed back into this world with minimal interruption, and all I can say is – it was absolutely worth it!

The second book in ‘The Three’ series, we get to meet Sonia, and Callum, the King of the Werewolves. I won’t go into too much storyline here, because you can read the synopsis, but God, I love this book! I love the werewolf life, customs, and the structure of their world. And OMFG I freaking LOVE Callum!!! Yes, he’s a brash, sexist, controlling and demanding Alpha, but he’s a werewolf, it's to be expected because it's his nature and it's all he knows. Plus he’s King of the werewolves, so it’s to be expected even more! (but he can still be really tender and gentle and calls Sonia "little one" *clutches heart*). And that’s a huge part of this series - these supernatural OTT Alphas meeting their mortal mates and the struggle for the couple to find their balance as they fall in love and their two completely different worlds come together.

The love story between Callum and Sonia is absolutely beautiful! With the story being told in both of their POVs, we get to see everything that they are feeling, and with KA’s beautiful writing, you feel it right along with them.

I find myself a little torn over Sonia. Here she is, thrust into this world which is totally new to her. As a mortal with no knowledge of the supernatural world, she is told that Callum and his “people” are not human, but it never occurs to her to ask what they are. Bizarre!! She’s also the kind of heroine that overhears and misunderstands things, holding on to it, blowing it all out of proportion and letting it turn her bitter and angry, never actually talking to Callum to work through what’s really going on. *sigh*. But all of this is resolved, and it’s resolved with so much freaking swoon that it was all forgotten and forgiven immediately! But through it all she loved her wolf and I loved that she was strong enough to try and protect herself from getting hurt, but still be willing to become a part of his world, and embrace all that that entailed. Her life had been incredibly difficult, and yet she takes everything in her stride, and just deals with it as best as she can. And I like that about her.

It was Callum’s story that really touched me, as the whole time he and Sonia were together and he was falling for her, he knew that Sonia was mortal (and unwell), and that their time together would be brief, but he still gave her everything he had and he loved her immensely. Towards the end of the book he had me in a constant state of swoon.

“I loved you before you took your first breath on this earth because that was my fate but you made me love you because you’re just… fucking… you.”

Along with all of this glorious swoon and emotion, the sex is intense! It’s the wolf way – they like it hard and rough, and they like it a lot. And with one little statement from Callum - "Baby doll, you're about to be claimed" – my pulse was set racing. And it continued throughout the whole book! But it didn’t feel unnecessary. Sex is a very intense connection for Callum and Sonia, and as it is not only the way the wolf claims his mate, but also the way that they express themselves to each other, it’s an incredibly important part of their relationship (see me rationalising the smut here… it’s totally working too).

The cast of characters is brilliant as always, but I need to give a shout out to Ryon because he is such a sensational character! Callum’s cousin and best friend, he has spent a lot of time in the human world, and he keeps an eye on Sonia to see how she is acclimatising to her new life, and then counsels Callum on how he should be treating his new mate. I love this quality piece of advice:

"Female humans need communication, a lot of it. It's fucking annoying but, trust me, you're better off giving it to her than suffering the consequences."

There are twists and turns as Callum’s world goes to war, Sonia’s ‘gifts’ and the secrets from her past are slowly revealed, and the mysterious Prophesies once again come into play – forcing a long, and very welcome, visit from Lucien and Leah. Squeee!!! I loved seeing them again, and seeing them still so blissfully happy and in love.

And the ending of the book had me absolutely sobbing! KA always brings the drama in the last 10% of her books, and even though I was anticipating it, when it happened, it just floored me. Absolute, emotion-fest! But of course there is a HEA and an epilogue, and we even get a very brief glance at the final pair of lifemates to complete the prophecy. All very mysterious I can’t wait for their story!

KA, as always, you never let me down. I bow down and worship at your feet.

5 amazing stars!

KA does no wrong. I'm biased. I don't care. Words fail me when I try to write a review for her stories. But here's about 4 things you should know about her...

1. This chica can write. She's a wonderful storyteller. Her imagination is beyond wild. She has the ability to make you escape into the world(s) she creates that sometimes you don't want to go back to reality. Seriously. She's that...wait for it... FUCKING awesome.

2. You get your monies worth. Yes her books can be long. Yes she goes into detail, whether it's the way she describes the people, place and things. All her books are inexpensive.

3. All the characters in all her books(yes I've read em all)are brilliant. Whether it's the fucking hot alpha men or the bad ass chicas(who dress fabulous by the way), you wanna be said bad ass chicas who have the pleasure of fucking said hot alpha men.

4 You will either cry, ball your eyes out, get teary eyed or your throat closes up. In some books there is death but then there are just those moments that bring a smile to your face and make you teary eyed. If you know me, I don't like crying. But got damn, KA does a brilliant job that I don't mind the tears.

Now on to the story...

I bow down. I curtsy. I click my heels in air.

We get werewolves. Yes. Fucking hot werewolves. King alpha fucking hot werewolf Callum. His description had my heart a fluttering. He's alpha so that entails that he's bossy, wants everything his way, he's fucking hot and OMG...that king can lay it down on me anyfuckintime.

We get his Queen. Yep. Queen Sonia who doesn't have a clue that werewolves and other things that go bump in the night exist. All she knows is that when she was little she met her "puppy" who she protected and he did the same with her thru her life.

Let me just state that this book is the best in sensuality. Of course there's sex. Rough sex. Headboard sex. Sweet sex. The way Callum "marks" and "plays" Sonia had me sighing. Won't say more but here are some of my favorite moments/lines...

"Come to your wolf, baby doll."

"My glorious queen, I told you we'd have a beautiful life, you and I."

"Ho...my...gawd," Kerry breathed.

"You're not hot. You're dreamy."

"And it's everything I am to you."
"Your protector...lift your ass for me, little one, I want to go deep...and I'm also your possessor."

"Cal?...You love me?"
"With everything I am, baby doll, and everything I'm meant to be."

"Your mother's mother gave that to her when she was a girl. Your mother gave it to me for safekeeping to give to you today." Sonia drew in a breath as her fingers curled tight around Regan's and tears flooded her eyes. "Oh Sonny!" Mara cried. "Your makeup!" "Let her cry," Sonia heard Callie say quietly. "We'll fix it." "I-" Sonia began. "Say nothing." Regan cut her off then finished on a whisper. "I know. What you need to know is that Cherise knew, Lassiter knew, they knew you loved them just as much as they loved you." Her lips quivering, she could hold them back no more and Sonia whimpered as Regan pulled her into her arms and held her close.

"Vampire grandpa to my Sonia's children."

"You're beautiful always but today, you glow. I love you, my hear, I have from the moment you came to me even if that moment was a sad one. And I'm immensely proud of you."...Then she whispered, "I love you too. I have for ages and I'll do it forever."

"Are you mine?" he asked, his voice gruff. "Yes," she whispered immediately, her voice still husky and her eyes got brighter.
"Are you mine?" she asked, this new nuance of The Mating something he came up with just that morning. He was king. he could do anything he wanted. And he wanted to give to her what she gave to him. "Yes," he replied in a strong, carrying voice...

Go forth if you haven't already and go get any and all of this fabulous chicas stories.
