Rate this book
Dig the Shining? Like a creative experience? You must read this book by Owen Harris. It is scarier than Stephen King’s novel and more horrifying that Stanley Kubrick’s movie. The SHINING Code is a scene-by-scene accounting of the truth hidden inside an American horror classic. From the formula to lunar soil, to the murderous Willy Otto Oskar Ley, the secrets of “Gemini 11” and “Apollo 11” are clearly presented....chapter by chapter...scene-by-scene. Remember the green bathroom? Read Harris' perspective and you will never "see" that scene the same way again. A horror story as BIG as the MOON, that will stay with you forever, and ever, and ever and ever. MADE IN THE USA | 2016 THE ART OF OWEN GONZO SEMI-FICTIONFrom the most basic level to the deepest of all truths comes a family of intertwined books by Owen Harris that take the reader through a coded historical scene-by-scene through some of our most beloved movies, stories, art and truths. I don't disagree with Mr. Harris' interpretations as a whole, in fact I feel I gained some new insights despite having delved into the subject myself over the past few years. I can even overlook the pompous tone he takes throughout the book. But I have never, NEVER read a book with so many typos, misspellings, crazy punctuation choices, missing words, made-up words... Obviously no-one proofread it but did he even re-read it himself?! If it was a High School writing assignment I could perhaps be a little more understanding. Four stars for the research and insights into the subject, minus two stars for abysmal (and distracting) mechanics.
