I do not agree with some of his views
Some parts resonated with me like the desire of the creator to reach him, through Jesus or directly. That he is a living merciful God who wants us to understand that we are all interconnected, to love each other and give without expectations, specially to help out with an open heart. Also, the fact that no one is perfect and that we can reach out to God to clear our darkness and chose his path of light. What truly bothered me about this book was that he uses the word “obey” from beginning to end practically. That implies that God wants us to obey like a master expect this from his slave. God has given us free will and our creator loves us so much that he sent his own son, the only one to be the Bridge and our salvation; then, the same God want us to “Obey”. To me he wants our unconditional love given freely, our choice to follow him out of love, not as an “Obey my Command”. Also, Jesus was a simple humble man who preached love to the father and to love each other, but the church is very wealthy, the priest wear fine clothes and seat on a chair like a throne, the Vatican is one of the richest institutions, they have created religion to fill their pockets and control the masses, they have even killed innocent people in the name of God with the inquisition and all the corruption that the church tries to hide when innocent kids have been victims. We do not need this church to reach God, it is said that our body is the temple of God for a reason, we can easily reach and talk to him, reach him with an open heart and through our actions, love him by caring and helping each other. Most of this book is to praise the author life choices and to tell us to “Obey” God which to me, I don’t think that word is part of the essence of our creator, if he really want us to “Obey”, he simply has the power to make it so. But I agree with the author that God wants us to seek him and care for each other by good deeds, by what comes out of our mouth, our actions and what truly is inside in our hearts.
