Ashe Sentinel Connections #1-4

Ashe Sentinel Connections Box Set

Rate this book
It's a small world, especially in a small town like Ashe, Kansas. Ashe Sentinel Connections is series of stories about m/m love connections between Ashe Sentinel staffers, their sources, and their readers.

Book 1: Changing Focus
When two Ashe Sentinel staffers cover breaking news and bullets fly, it's an eye-opening experience. Jorge and Mac clash at work, but it's only after a close call in the field that Mac realizes he's misjudged the editor and overlooked a sexy man. Can he apologize enough -- preferably with his lips -- to earn Jorge's love, or will he lose him to the sergeant with a flirty smile?

Book 2: Source of Protection
Sgt. Rick Wilson is still smarting from rejection by Ashe Sentinel staffer Jorge Ortiz. But when Rick finds himself with an armful of gorgeous murder suspect, he can't help but be intrigued. When it turns out Will McCall may be more victim than criminal, he becomes determined to protect him despite the risks -- to his career and to his heart. This is the second novella in a m/m romance series.

Book 3: Rewriting His Love Life
Looking for a distraction from crushing on his boss, Archer gets roped into writing a dating series for the Ashe Sentinel. When Tyler meets his cute, geeky neighbor after a day of moving hell, the two fall into an easy friendship. But after rescuing Archer from one dating crisis too many, he wants more. Can Tyler win over Archer, or will the man's fear of dating too close to home keep them apart?

Book 4: Winter Blom
Andy Blom is a winter intern assigned to write about a construction worker who creates metal art. That wouldn't be so bad, but Andy's uneasy about meeting a macho guy who will no doubt find Andy just a little too gay. But when he meets Lane Cross, he learns appearances can be deceiving and Lane is a man of many contradictions, not the least of which is that a man like him could want Andy.

The series continues with "Hard Press," Book 5, published separately. This box set contains sexually explicit content appropriate for readers 18 or over.

My 1st book(s) I read from this author and I was not disappointed.

Book 1: We meet Jorge and Mac two men who have a hate relationship in their interactions at work! Until a mistake caused by Mac makes them start to see things differently within each other. The hate starts blossoming into love but they have trouble understanding what's going on between them given their history. There are some hiccups by other characters that will eventually get their own story! My only complaint is that this story was just a little too short for me!

Book 2: We met Rick in book 1 as an ex of Mac and who had interest in Jorge. After feeling slightly rejected he starts to fall for Will, who is a murder suspect, yet Rick does not believe Will is capable of violence and makes it his duty to protect Will. Will is drawn to Rick yet is repelled by him because Rick is like that of Will's ex who he is running from. These 2 fall hard for one each other in a short time and must learn to trust each other to deal with the threat that effects both of them!

Book 3: Archer finally gets his love story with Tyler. Archer is down in his love life, having crushed on his boss Jorge and breaking up with his girlfriend who now had turned his gamer friends against him. Archer joins many dating sites and tries each one to find a compatible date and writes his experience on a column. Tyler moves next door to Archer after divorcing his best friend and embracing his life as a gay man. These 2 become best friends but are not sure if they should go beyond that after Tyler saves Archer from a jerk, we see the jerk in his own story in book 5. Archer does not want to damage his friendship and Tyler is hopeful for a blossoming love. It takes awhile before these 2 come together.

Book 4: Andy and Lane where my favorite out of the boxed set! I think it was seeing how Lane was a great father and Andy with his interactions with Zach made the story very sweet. Seeing the characters learn to grow and care for another to become a family made me smile as I turned on the last page of the book and this boxed set

News Flash!!!

Come one come all this is a must read. There are hot,hot bodies and lots of loved from the hot nightly news director to the lowly intern searching for love. But if you think that is all wait for the shy but hot editor who finds love after he stars in a dating column from hell and then there's the hot police information officer that is in the right place and the right time to frisk a hot suspect. The news hasn't been this entertaining in a long while.
Again great story!

I love 'em all!

I don't know how this author flew under my radar for so long. I love her writing style and sense of humour. Plus, the characters she writes are so lovable. Not perfect by any means, but realistic, with flaws and tantrums and insecurities. I'm definitely a fan!

Entertaining With Guys Who Come on Too Strong (at least at first)

Not quite up to the level of her second series based in Ashe, Ohio - these are shorter, and there’s a pattern of one romantic partner coming on too strong sexually and then having to back-track. And everyone seems to want or have a crush on Jorge, LOL. It’s also funny how there’s a little meta about how conservative Ohio is, and yet how a large percentage of the Ashe Sentinel staff is gay. So you know while there’s some serious stuff going on, there is some tongue-in-cheek. I like Sarah: I hope she gets a guy (or girl!) in one of the later books in the series.

Wonderful story

This is a good story line. Reviewing all four books at once is both tough and easy. All of the characters are wonderfully developed. Reading them together makes for an amazing discovery of the town and the newspaper.

Enjoyed the collection

I enjoyed reading this collection of interrelated, but standalone stories. They are all centered around a different couple somehow related to the newspaper (The Sentinel). I found humour and heart in each novella and looking forward to reading the next book.

This is a very sweet and heartwarming collection of 4 contemporary love stories. I'm soooo glad I gave this author a second chance because I liked this series so much better than the one I read previously (the Anti- Series: My Anti-Boyfriend, etc). The first story in this set of 4 was my least favorite of the set. Mac's actions were so harsh. The other 3 were great though. I usually read more historical, supernatural, or futuristic stories and it's work like this that makes me enjoy contemporary story lines and keep me coming back to them. I would definitely recommend this set as a fun and sweet read.
