Book Review - ...finally got to Stephen Templin’s Special Operations Group series, “Autmun Assassins." After reading, “Trident’s First Gleaming” and “Patriot Dreams, "Autumn Assassins did not disappoint! Book three in the series features CIA's Max Wayne (formerly of SEAL Team Six) and his brother Tom (a former Army Ranger). They were bound by blood to execute the highest threat missions that the United States denied. This book had a ton of action and some great dialogue between two brothers who just so happened to work together and on some really serious Black Ops operations. This series by Templin is worthwhile. I read this book in three days and was glad that I did. It had been on my reading list for awhile and I just decided to moved it up. And, again, I was glad that I did! A solid action thriller that should not be overlooked!
“He felt little connection to the cold side of wealth that took so much and gave so little.” Stephen Templin’s latest thriller, Autumn Assassins delivers the package and we prosper. Escalating action, subtle humor, and character names resonate with undertones of Ian Fleming. Heroes Max and Tom aren’t quite 007, but they’re good, very good, at what they do and that’s taking out the trash. This read fleshes out the senses with historical and culinary tastes from Asia and Hawaii. The weaponry and tactical technique tips are also tasty. One of the best Templin tomes to date, Autumn Assassins hints at future literary delights born in on the winds of the changing seasons.
Two Sons Are Called to Assist in a Personal Classified Mission
ST has penned another nail buyer for those who are hooked on SEAL TEAM and other DOG Groups. Two sons, one who loves his duties as a Classified agent and one who will do this mission and return to school and his future wife. Their father is kidnapped and they join the rescue team. This is an excellent read for the genre.....DEHS
Max & Tom Wayne working for the CIA must find their father and rescue him. They also must complete the mission their dad started. It is a race against time to save the next target on the list an out of control Chinese officer has set for himself. He has anthrax but they do not know his plans for it. Very fast paced and great read.
A deadly assassin Zhao , Chinese military leader has a plan to allow China to overtake the USA in the Pacific . When his government tells him to stand down , he decides no. He leads the US team of two brothers plus in a merry chase from Vietnam to Washington DC . I felt this book was sometimes wordy and stiff.
I'm sorry I ever started this book. It began well and soon deteriorated to senseless babble such that I quit halfway through. In a word..... Corny....and that's generous.
First rate spy thriller, The story starts with intrigue as Hank (CIA operative) is on a mission to gather information about seven ball (Chinese baddie) when it all goes to hell. Hank goes missing and a rescue operation is instigated. The extraction team are brothers Max (formerly of SEAL Team Six) and Tom Wayne (a former Army Ranger) AND Hanks sons. I was hooked from the start, the plot was believable, fast paced and action packed. Max and Tom need to have another book. Templin’s writing just keep getting better and better, buy this, you won’t be disappointed.
In many places the descriptions of things became redundant. The plot, such as it was, was very predictable. The characters did not come to life. There was no connection for me as the reader to the two leads.
The best spy mystery written by Stephen Templin. Spun yarn is pure gold. Its like reading the first nonfiction book of Seal Wasdin and picking up the second sequel, but its fiction by Templin!
