Excellent story. I couldn't put it down and it interrupted the work I was supposed to be doing. The writing is so addicting it's hard to stop. Each little section labeled with one of the characters names, I'd think I'll just read one more section... and then on and on I kept reading! I couldn't STOP. I've never read anything like it. We have two seventeen-year-olds in the present who meet and have an intense and adorable connection. They immediately become boyfriend/girlfriend and I loved reliving such a sweet, funny, adorable first love as this couple was. But they also paralleled Johnny and Christine who were also the same age of couple in 1969. Both Jack and Ivy have flashbacks of Johnny/Christine, but they don't understand why or what it means or that the other has the same experience. Finally, they figure it out and start to solve a mystery that goes all the way back to 1969. I felt just as invested in Johnny and Christine. The end had me tearing up. What a book! The writing was easy to read but not simple. The characters were well developed and the present/past combination was integrated so smoothly. I even loved the smaller details, down to how Jack related to his mom which totally endeared him to me. Seriously amazing story.
