I just didn't like it

The whole book was off. I hated how she was always having negative thoughts when they were working on the house together and he was flirting and stuff. Then I didn't like his thoughts when they got back to the ranch, after he got her in bed again and now he wanted a divorce!? It was boring too. I just wanted to slap them both upside their head and say 'snap out of it'! I know they were both hurting and it was tragic but their thoughts didn't make me feel their pain. They just annoyed me. I did get choked up when they met Polly but then th H ruined it with his okay time for a divorce mentality. Just annoying and boring in parts. I didn't feel a connection at all between them. Something was just off.

This book is kind of a downer - I had a hard time getting through it and there is zero resolution of the mystery. Guess they decided the threat through the whole book was no longer a threat.

Reunited with the Rancher is really a sweet story. The story is truly heartbreaking. Tom and Emily lost their son in an accident and things never were right for them since. They are married but living separate lives. (suddenly I hear Phil Collins)

Maverick, an anonymous blackmailer gets to Emily. Trying to convince her that Tom has a secret family stashed away.

This isn't as hot and spicy as most Desires are. In fact, it was very tame, focusing on trying to get two people that are very obviously still very much in love back together.

I went through most of the book wondering why Tom and Emily hadn't tried counseling after their child's death. Both of them obviously had a lot to work through, Tom especially. He has a lot of issues he needs to deal with.

Emily has issues too, but I couldn't help but wonder why she didn't fight for her marriage. She wanted a family and she certainly loved Tom.

I've read another book in this series and Maverick was a little more a part of the plot and I think that's why this book lacked the excitement of the other books in the series.

This is a lovely story, but if you are looking for the normal Harlequin Desire fare, you aren't going to find it here.

Blackmail is the catalyst to get this estranged pair talking again. Although, now that I look back, the bad guy never asked for anything and doesn't make more contact after the initial email. I have not read the others in the series, so I don't know if this is the normal pattern or not.
This was a hard read, even though I haven't lost a child like that. The actions and reactions of Tom and Emily felt very real and normal for a grieving couple. The two steps forward and one back pattern will be very familiar to many couples.
They truly love each other, but think the other would be better off if they were divorced. Tom's protective instincts drive him to take care of Emily when she gets a hateful email. The willingness to work together and really talk to each other helps them to come back together.

2 stars.
Trigger warning: Child loss, sexual coercion.
The intimate scenes in the first half of the book were absolute cringe. He was overly pushy, and she didn't want what he was pushing. Things got better in the second half... as in normal instead of *puke*.
Child loss was a big theme.
I feel like these guys would have been fine if they had just gone to counselling.
"HEA", although if it's like the rest of the book, that'll last a week max.
Book needed an epilogue.

I really enjoyed this story. This one is part of the Texas Cattleman's Club: Blackmail. However, little of the club was discussed in this book. I cried and smiled while reading this one. It broke my heart sometimes for both the main characters. But I like a book that I can get emotionally involved in.

Interesting second chance at love

Emily and Tom had a lot of kids and painful memories to work through before they would reunite. The story was good and I liked the characters. I would have liked to find out who Maverick was without having to read complete series.

Two stubborn hurting people. Again Maverick blackmailed someone. But in this case it brought them closer. Was that his real-intent?
I am expected them to get pregnant now since they were nit expecting a baby. I wanted to know how their future ended up

I'm so curious to know who Maverick is. Following these stories is always a thrill. I hope it all unravels soon.
