This book (both Dari and English in one volume) contains stories written by beneficiaries of safe house. Their name and other critical information has been changed to hide their identity because of their safety. Poems of Nadia Anjuman, Afghan female poet who died due to domestic violence, have been added in this book. Some pictures from safe house and drawings by beneficiaries of safe house asking for EVAW has been also included in this book. Ines Alberdi, Executive Director of UNIFEM, and Luisa Morgantini, Vice President of European Parliament, have sent their exclusive messages which has been published in the book. Introduction of the book has been written by Christina Lamb—journalist, columnist and writer and currently chief editor of Sunday Times—who had personally met Nadia Anjuman in 2001.

Nadia Anjuman (Persian: نادیا انجمن; December 27, 1980 – November 4, 2005) was a poet from Afghanistan.
Nadia Anjuman, poeta e jornalista afegã, nasceu a 27 de Dezembro de 1981 e morreu a 4 de Novembro de 2005 na cidade de Herate (Afeganistão), assassinada pelo marido.

Entre 1996 e 2001, sob o regime do Emirado islâmico do Afeganistão, fez parte dum círculo clandestino de mulheres estudiosas de literatura, Escola da Agulha Dourada de seu nome, sob a direção do professor Nasser Rahiyab.

A pretexto de trabalhos de agulha aprovados pelos Talibãs, as seis estudantes praticavam uma actividade expressamente vedada às mulheres. Mais tarde, após a intervenção americana, Nadia Anjuman virá a inscrever-se na universidade e, em 2004, publica Gul-e-dodi (Flor de Fumo), best-seller que terá vendido perto de 3.000 exemplares.

Em 2006 é publicado postumamente Yek Sàbad Délhoreh / Um Cesto de Receios, e em 2007 Divâne Sorudehâye Nadja Anjoman / Os Poemas Completos de Nadia Anjuman.

A sua obra foi editada em Dari e Pashtun, sendo esta a primeira edição em língua não persa. Edição bilingue, em Português e Dari.

It has definitive social, political and historical value but the literary worth feels somewhat short in comparison
