All Hannah ever wanted was the American Dream: a loving husband, a family, a home. For Hannah, the only man she ever wanted was Gunner James. Gunner is not only devastatingly sexy, he is also the leader of the James Brothers’ Motorcycle Gang.
Locked up for a crime they didn't commit and after three years in prison, the James brothers are back in Atlas, Nevada, and Gunner is more determined than ever to get the only woman he has ever loved back.
Hannah has spent the last three years trying to move on from Gunner, and now that her life is back on track, Gunner returns, hell-bent on reclaiming her. This time, Hannah has to keep her head; it’s not only her that she has to think about, but also her young daughter. Gunner is faced with an impossible choice between the woman he loves and revenge.
Author Notes: This is a 9,000-word short story containing explicate adult sexual content with no cliff hangers and a happy ending.
I knew this was a short read after seeing this Authors Notes Warning: This is a 8k word stand alone short story with steamy content and a happy ending. But it's still disconcerting when the actual book ends at 4% while normally I wouldn't read a book this short I've been struggling to settle on something so I thought I'd give it a try. It didn't work. There's too much missing, the story starts with Gunner being released from prison after serving three years for a crime he didn't commit but there's no build up we don't know what the MC is like, why were they framed? How were they framed? There's no real beginning, no past and then it just ends I can't understand this book at all seemed a waste to me. What's here is ok but this story needed more so the 2* is for the bit we do get in fact it's so short that when you download the sample from Amazon you get all of 'Released'
It felt too short. We're introduced to the story of Hannah and Gunner, but not their beginning. The book starts in the middle. There were so many questions left unanswered. The book was so fast paced and too short. I didn't really got to know Hannah or Gunner. To me they're just two names, but nothing more. Where is their chemistry? What exactly happened in the past? Why was Gunner in prison? What happened to Rich, Hanna's now boyfriend? How old is Charlie? (she's introduced as a young woman, but she's a baby). Was Gunner the President of the MC? He sure didn't act like one.
The ending was very abrupt. It felt unresolved. I wouldn't call it a happy ending.
The writing style was good. The concept of the story too. Perhaps if the book would have been longer, I could've fallen in love with Gunner and Hannah. But sadly that's not going to happen.
Just when it gets good the book is done at only 5% of the book. I was like wtf. It was getting good then nothing. I didn't read the others because I wanted to read a MC book the next one is not about that.
