“Path to Doom” part six! In the epic conclusion, the mystery of Black Zero deepens just as the Man of Steel makes a fateful decision that may stop Doomsday, but also risks the lives of those he loves most.
Dan Jurgens is an American comic book writer and artist. He is known for his work on the DC comic book storyline "The Death of Superman" and for creating characters such as Doomsday, Hank Henshaw, and Booster Gold. Jurgens had a lengthy run on the Superman comic books including The Adventures of Superman, Superman vol. 2 and Action Comics. At Marvel, Jurgens worked on series such as Captain America, The Sensational Spider-Man and was the writer on Thor for six years. He also had a brief run as writer and artist on Solar for Valiant Comics in 1995.
Finally, the Doomsday fight is over! One star is purely for that. Otherwise, not much else happened. I do like that Wonder Woman came in to rescue Superman.
So I think Dan Jurgens is a cool guy; I can imagine he's the one who at the story board meetings contributes the most ideas, is the most enthusiastic etc, but when it comes to the finer details, he skips that part... This story can be described as a big block buster film with tons of action, but it ain't winning any Oscars! So the story is a simple, Superman vs Doomsday story, with annoying family elements added! The family element is Lois and Clarks Son, crying every time superman has to go out and be a hero; this is obviously because of what happened in The Death Of Superman Arc(Despite the fact Superman has fought and defeated Doomsday multiple times since then!!!) and their worried something is going to happen to him; I understand if they do it once in a very powerful scene, but when their showing it to you every five seconds, it gets old very quick, I mean thanks for the vote of confidence Lois and Son(I forget his name)! Despite that and the weak story, the artwork is top notch, and the fight scenes are well done, plus theirs a side story with Luthor that I liked! But overall its an enjoyable read, and not as bad as some people are saying it is!
so another arc in the DC rebirth era ends and yet again it feels dissapointing
the issue in itself felt OK with the art really looking good for another series and definitely surpassing the Superman titles and yet the end felt awfully abrupt and not only that but even the beginning of this issue was abrupt with the cliff hanger in the last issue ending after the first page of this issue and with absolutely no significane
the mysteries behind Dr OZ, the 2nd Clark, the super lex all remain intact over all for much of the arc there was a feeling of stagnation and the end was abrupt so I am not gonna say that I really loved the series and yet there were quite a few blockbuster moments to criticise the arc much
in conclusion the arc was decent but not awesome and the issue was neither good enough to praise nor bad enough to be mad
Well, the Doomsday fight is finally "over," and this first arc has been completed. I have enjoyed this arc, though I was hoping for more information about some things that I have questions with, but I have a feeling that comes in the next arc. This was a great introduction to the action that Superman can bring to the comic world but still allow him to have connections. I do think that this fight was dragged out way too long and I think a little bit more information could have been given to new readers to this world in regards to some characters. I'm glad I started getting this comic though and I'm looking forward to the next story arc.
A mysterious group of armor-suited men has arrived to try and contain the rampaging Doomsday. While Superman needs the help, do they have other intensions for the beast?
This issue wraps up the initial arc of the Action Comics “Rebirth,” but doesn’t wrap up all the plot points. Jurgens leaves several things on the table including the hows and whos of the “other” Clark Kent, the identity of the mysterious figure monitoring the battle with Doomsday and more beyond that, and Lex Luthor’s place and intentions in this post-New 52 reality. I am really intrigued by all of these ideas and I’m actually very happy that they did not all resolve in this arc. It gives us something to look forward to and a broader sense of story and how this Superman will fit into it all.
I’m much more engaged with Superman in these six issues than I was in most of the New 52 run. I like this version of the character and was happy to see his return in Convergence and subsequently in the Lois and Clark miniseries. This is really MY Superman, so I’m happy to be here experiencing these adventures along side him. It feels like a return to a comfortable shirt or blanket that you can just settle into and enjoy.
Throughout this arc we’ve seen the talents of three pencilers and I’ve enjoyed each of them. I’m curious if this will be a constantly rotating roster due to the frequency of the book, or if it will settle down to perhaps two. Regardless, the styles have meshed pretty well and all the artists have brought something unique and amazing to the issues. All very nicely done.
A really nice starting point for the new Rebirth continuity. I’m looking forward to seeing if the rest of the universe holds up.
The Path of Doom story arc ends here... and it doesn't feel like an ending.
I'm disappointed by how this arc goes. It was a bit rushed, ending the fight abruptly. Its just a plain fight between Superman and Doomsday with no definite story on it, just leaves everything hanging. It answers the questions but not on a full scale leaving an empty feeling, a deep hollow, to me. I liked how Superman smartened up on this but it doesn't suffice and they just make the whole thing less exciting. This doesn't live up to my expectations but I will give another shot on this.
Superman still fighting Doomsday. He decides to take him to his fortress of solitude and attempt to blast him into the phantom zone, which only works once WW shows up to buy Supes he time he needs. Supes is still skeptical of Luther and isn’t willing to call him an ally yet. The mysterious figure behind everything intercepted the doomsday transmission and now has Doomsday

Lois & Wonder Woman are watching Superman & Doomsday fight on the Watchtower satellites. They wonder who the other people were that were trying to capture Doomsday because it seem as though they were trying to harness Doomsday powers.
What does harnessing Doomsday's powers have to do with what Superman is made of? It just sounds like more bullshit from the hooded man.
Superman is still fighting Doomsday, but this time his plan is revealed. He leads Doomsday to the Fortress of Solitude so that he can banish him to the Phantom Zone. At the request of Lois, Wonder Woman goes to help Superman. She distracts Doomsday long enough for Superman to put him in the inescapable prison.
It is revealed the hooded man intercepted Doomsday journey to the Phantom Zone & has kept him for himself. The hooded man is becoming a pest. What could be possible want Doomsday for?
I kinda feel let down by the way this arc ended. I'm going to have to wait for the next arc to find out why there is human Clark Kent and Superman, and who the villain in the hood is. Damn. Overall, I liked this Doomsday day story and I really enjoyed the WW appearance.
Action packed finale with Doomsdy and hopefully the last for some time. There are a lot of interesting things going on here so it will be interesting to learn these in the issues to come.
