She's hurt, scared...and their mate.

After leaving their community due to an altercation with their shifting council, Alric and Sam, wolf shifters and mates, start their new life on their own terms. But when Dalia, a lost and injured female wolf shifter, pleads for help on their doorstep, the two wolves know they can't turn her away. She's hurt, scared...and their mate. With Dalia under their care, it takes everything in their power to curb the beasts inside that demand they claim her.

Running from an abusive past, Dalia will take help in any form. When she finds a cabin in the middle of nowhere, she hopes the inhabitant is her salvation, at least for the time being. What she didn't expect to find were two savagely attractive wolf shifters who are her mates. As she heals physically and mentally, she finds herself not wanting to fight the powerful pull her mind and body have toward the two males, even if her past could destroy everything.

4 Love and Destruction Stars ⭐

~Second Read. Perfect if you need a steamy Post Apocalypse fix!~

“She’ll do whatever he wants so long as he kept them safe. And he agrees. She’s now his… the property of a savage who will use her because he now owned her.”

In the blink of an eye, the end of the world was upon them. Chemical warfare had turned most survivors into violent savages. Left to fend for themselves, an eighteen-year-old Sasha becomes sole guardian to her little sister Lucy. The girls are forced to leave their home to find temporary refuge in their uncle’s cabin up in the mountains.

Ah, Malachi, drug lord, underground king, lived a life at the top by ruling with an iron fist. Except, power means shit when the world as you know it is gone. What remains, are people scavenging to stay alive and others using force to obtain what they want and need. Luckily, Malachi has the skills to survive as long as he doesn’t get infected by the virus first.

When by chance Malachi stumbles across Sasha and Lucy, he is quick to intervene and rescue them from a dire situation. He is more than willing to offer his services permanently in exchange for Sasha, even though subconsciously he has already claimed her. A development that Sasha is not keen on. But in this new volatile life, she is unable to refuse, especially now that Lucy is her number one priority.

“I don’t know you and so far, in order to get your help, I’ve got to have sex with you. Forgive me for not being so thrilled by that idea.”

I love a post-apocalyptic romances with caveman heroes that will go to extraordinary lengths to keep their woman safe. Savage was surprisingly slow burn that explored the horrors and sacrifice one would experience if this was their new reality. I loved Malachi and his growth as a person, plus the patience he showed to the girls while maintaining his badassery. But mostly, Sasha was the true hero in this book with her unflappable will to keep her sister safe. The romance felt organic and real, and of course the sex hot! Honorable mentions for the seriously delicious cover!

5 stars!!!

Now when I tell you this was a fabulous read, I truly mean it. Which is why I'm changing this from 4 stars to 5 (I can't remember why I rated it 4 stars, but I do know why I'm rating it 5 stars!).

This story was such a unique post-apocalypse read! Like the plot was truly enjoyable. There were no aliens (not saying that I hate alien books, as I love them, but know, it was something new). No zombies. It was just about a virus.

A deadly virus that kills people and that turns people mad (I truly cannot wait for Book 2 as I really do wanna know more about this virus and what it does to people).

With all this in mind though, I do have some trigger warnings:
- almost rape
- hella violence
- murder/death

Nothing too dark though or unbearable.

The chemistry between Sasha and Malachi, though – hot! Their sexual tension was too much at times. And when they (Sasha) finally gave in, it was just yummy. There's an age gap, but Snow never reveals just how many years of a gap they have.

The care and protectiveness Malachi has for Sasha and her little sister, Lucy, was like the sweetest thing. They ended up becoming the perfect family. Though they had two more people join their team, the familiar love these three shared with each other made them so sweet. Ugh.

I still can't remember why I rated this 4 stars before, lol.

I cannot wait for book 2! I hope it's a continuation of Sasha and Malachi's story. Or at least, I hope it includes them in case they aren't the MCs.

I am a complete pushover when it comes to apocalyptic romances, and I wanted to like this book so much. I've read some really terrible post-apocalyptic stories and some really fabulous ones, and this one hovers right in the middle of all of those. I think part of the problem was I went in with my expectations too high.

The premise: two sisters forced to survive after a mysterious plague kills their parents and the majority of the human population. The first half of the story is really well done. The relationship between Sasha (18) and Lucy (10) was so sweet and beautiful.

When Malachi (late 30's) enters the story, he's a drug running, hardened criminal looking out for himself. But the instant he sees Sasha, his world changes.
When he’d looked at her that first time it had been like a shot of electricity had slammed into his body, twisting up his organs, refusing to ease up unless he made her his.
The insta-lust is very strong for him. The age gap and the fact that they were polar opposites didn't bother me, what was lacking was a genuine connection between the two. Their romance/erotic relationship was more physical than emotional and his dirty talkin wasn't my favorite.
“When we fuck, you’re going to love it. I’ve got a nice big cock and regardless of what you think, I’ve got a lot of patience. It could be worse.”
I actually really liked Malachi and Sasha individually. I think if the relationship had evolved organically, this book would've been so much better. (rather than the initial 'I'll protect you in exchange for sex' trope)

Overall, the world building and twist with Tree Man was interesting. Ends with a hfn, with a decent amount of setting up for the next book.

For whatever reason, I've read two books with a similar premise in one month and... Last Light did it definitely better. Maybe it's not fair to compare two such different writing styles, but here comes.

I liked the characters.
Malatchi and Sasha, but also little Lucy were decently written. And even though some people were unhappy with how soft Malatchi came off since meeting Sasha (after being presented as a hardened and vicious criminal in the beginning), I actually loved it. For me, it made sense that a man, who suddenly was left on his own (with no rivals or gangs or whatever), realised what he'd secretly craved and found it in sweet and fierce Sasha. Even though the blurb promised a completely different story, I went with it.

But the execution...
The build up was great, the character development wasn't too bad either and I liked the chemistry between Sasha and Malachi in the beginning. Yet down the road, some parts started to feel lazily written and the story kind of shifted into and out of smutty territory abruptly: it was a decent book one moment, but became lazily written smut the next. And lukewarm at that...

The adding of two characters in the third part would make sense if those characters weren't so flat. We were told something about them, some things happened... and all of a sudden: "now they are a part of our little family as well!" - after travelling for a week together. I didn't buy it.
The chapters were extremely short and unnecessarily named (56 chapters in 410 pages); and the story itself did not feel well worked through, more like a rough sketch of one.

The cover is freaking hot though.

I will try to write an articulate review about Last Light now.

I also got this as an ARC for a honest review!!
END OF THE WORLD!!! NO ZOMBIES!! there are savages and crazy ppls

I enjoy when Jenika and Sam write together and this one was awesome!!!

We see how Sasha and her sister and Malachi when the virus hits.. what they had to do solo.. the girls losing their parents being on their own   all the dangerous people in the world. And we had to see Badass Malachi at first not giving a fuck still being the boss of the underworld drugs until his clients all left or died.. i enjoyed the sister bonding the way Sasha had to grow up and protect herself and her sister, and when they met Malachi who was watching them when he spotted them, he had a mission to keep them alive he felt a attraction towards Sasha yes he wanted something but he wasn't going to force Sasha even for protection he's waiting for her to give in and he has time.

The three travel and head up North to see if their is a safe heaven.. tons of sexual tension, banter and well killing to stay alive.. and they meet few peoples along the way, Sasha finally gives into Mal and lord it was haawttt woods sex ;)

I wouldn't call it a cliffhanger.. but we have a Happy for now when they reach the safe haven.. i really wanted a epilogue but since it says book 1... maybe other characters shall be in this series?? Also maybe middle part it did drag alittle..

No ow drama slight om drama (rapist and wild guys), Angst, Drama, secondary charas, sexy times, virgin gal and no manwhore guy

I really enjoyed this story. The stories that I have read that involved a virus also involved zombies so this was a very nice change of pace. This is the story of Sasha, Lucy and Malachi and how they have to survive in this new world. Each character had their own struggles to deal with but to add on the extra added worries of staying safe from people who only looking out for themselves. The characters were wonderfully written and it felt like you were right there with them living and fighting right beside them. They were so real. All I can say is that Jenika and Sam did it again and I can’t wait to read what they have coming next.

I received an ARC of this book and I am voluntarily leaving a review.

Savage (The End #1) was an ok read. I'm totally addicted to these types of books and while this one wasn't the best, it also wasn't the worst. For starters I thought it was too long with absolutely nothing happening except traveling and even that wasn't exciting. Also I honestly didn't feel any connection between Malachi and Sasha. Even the intimate times lacked heat in my opinion. The ending is a HFN and sets up a continuing story. I will probably continue this series.

description

Savage is a full-length sexy and suspenseful post-apocalyptic romance. The story starts off with a virus that is wiping out mankind, those who are immune to it survived. However, it maybe would've been better to have died then to live in the world after the virus attack. There is no law or rules and everyone is on their own. Sasha is eighteen and has to take care of her ten year old sister Lucy. There is plenty of danger from bad people who will act anyway they want. But Sasha also has to make sure she and her sister have enough to eat, drink and have a place to rest. I have no idea how I would react if the world as we knew it ended out of nowhere. I think Sasha did a great job and acted very strong and did everything in her power to keep her sister safe.

However, the time comes that their luck runs out, and thankfully Malachi was there to save Sasha and her sister Lucy. But Malachi has his own motives for saving them. He had been watching them from afar for a while and feels a strong attraction to Sasha. He wants to own her and this opportunity is great for him to show Sasha that she can't do it on her own. She needs him if she wants to continue keeping her sister safe. In the beginning I thought Malachi would've been more of an anti-hero, but he wasn't too bad in my opinion. He was a drug lord before the world ended, but I didn't really get that vibe from him in present time. I was really happy this was a full-length novel, because otherwise I don't think the story would've been done justice. The authors really took the time to tell a complete story. There were heartbreaking, sweet, erotic, dark, and suspenseful moments. Everything came together really well, and I love the world the authors have created. I am intrigued to see what will happen next in this series.

First off..

The beginning of this story..

All up in my goddamn feels. I was hooked from the start and I instantly fell in love with Sasha and Lucy. How at such young ages they had to face stone cold reality when the virus took over.

It was every one for themselves and Sasha took care of her little sister all through it.. And then comes Malachi.. Boi oh boi this was written wonderfully. I easily find myself getting bored with full length books because the stories end up being predictable or there is lack of feeling and emotions due to endless characters..

But this baby was just perfect!

Different story for these 2 authors and while I don't normally read stories written like this, it had me hooked from the very first. It was crazy with twists around ever corner. The characters we so interesting and complex and you could feel the emotions rolling through them at any given time. Sasha, Lucy and Malachi were awesome but I would love for Tree to get a book before long. Great story and can't wait to see what these two come up with next!!

Find your beginning at the end
These two authors have the ability to make even the apocalypse swoon worthy. This book may be longer than their normal works, but they managed to move the story along smoothly and build up the characters and the story until I was tied to my seat and my book. I love the way the relationship between these three slowly builds into a family and they found their HEA. I am looking forward to the next book by these two authors.

This is a bit of a departure for these two. Great story with a slow burn in the romance area. The characters need a lot of strength and heart to face how the world is changing. Romance really doesn’t happen until the second half of the book. Looking forward to the next!

Great idea, but I didn't like the execution. The H was tough, and once he saw the h, he wanted her. She's young, protecting her sister in a world of chaos, and it should have exciting but the plot devices were on repeat. I got bored about 60% and gave up.

I’ve had a similar idea before, but this execution left me wanting. Not all that romantic. Not all that erotic. The main characters don’t even meet till almost 30%. It’s mostly world building and “I miss mom and dad and our old life” dialogue.

Repetitive Apocalyptic Promises

Okay, we get it. The older sister is protecting the younger; the hero is in angst over his life. How many times does the author have to repeat this to make sure we understand that this is happening?

Alric and Sam are lovers, mates. They also happen to be wolf shifters. Alric is an Alpha who is feeling restless and tired of being told what to do by the pack. After meeting with the council, he and Sam are free to strike out on their own, and settle in a cabin on a strip of land.

During a snow storm, they find a body out in the snow. It's a young woman, almost frozen, and she's been hurt by someone. But, their wolves know their mate.

Dalia Cooper is on the run from hunters and an abusive alpha who would stop at nothing to have her back. As much as she feels the mating call between her and the two sexy wolf shifters, she doesn't want to put them in danger. Alric and Sam want to show her what protective, loving mates would do to protect her.

This was an enjoyable book, and I've always loved Jenika's stories. This is fast-paced and the sex scenes are hot, especially for fans of M-M-F books.

I received this ARC in exchange for an Honest review.

Savage by Jenika Snow and Sam Crescent was an excellent apocalyptic book that was super hot and steamy. Sasha and Lucy are now orphans after a great sickness has wiped out their parents and much of the earth's population. They struggle to survive and Sasha has to be parents, big sister and friend rolled into one for Lucy. She tries but it is hard and they both have their break down moments.

Malachi was not a nice man before the sickness. He is ruthless and this new world is a good fit for him. Survive or die, kill or be killed. He can do all of that. When he spies Sasha and Lucy traveling alone, he decides to protect them with his life as long as he gets Sasha. He wants to own her and make her his forever.

This book is certainly juicy and yummy and hot. Malachi is a sexy man and knows what he wants. Sasha rebels at first but comes to understand that he will do anything to keep her and her sister safe. Savage is hot. Great steamy scenes. Highly recommended!

I love dystopian romance!

Great story and awesome characters. I loved Malachi and Sasha. I would like to tell the authors of the inconsistencies within the plot. In the beginning Sasha had brown eyes like her mom, and now they are blue. You said Malachi was a smoker and he was smoking a cigarette in the beginning of the story, but mention of them again. There are other plot discrepancies as well, but it didn't distract me to completely from the story. I would say though... if you're going to charge $4.99 for a book, please make sure you have an editor or just someone to proof it for you. I won't ask Amazon for a refund as I actually enjoyed the characters and story as a whole. I detest plot inconsistency and grammar mistakes within a book for purchase. I'll have to think about if I want to purchase the second installment in this series. But as I said.... I love dystopian romance. I loved Malachi and Sasha as well as the story.... just not the inconsistencies.

good but needed an epilogue.

The story was good; it definitely built up to the hero claiming the heroine, and you felt their exhaustion and the constant trekking. Movement is life, all that.

I get the sense this is gonna be a series because of the way the book ended so abruptly. It left open a bunch of questions—im not gonna give any of them away because no spoilers. But towards the end of the book a couple questions are raised with a secondary character who may be more important to survival than originally thought. And the book doesn’t answer them so I’m assuming future installment in the series will.

However, the book still needed an epilogue for the main characters. That was my biggest disappointment. Other than that, the story was well-written, had good flow, the smexy bits for steaming hot and I loved the hero—a flawed, possessive alpha protector

Alric and Sam are wolf shifters and mates who decide to leave their pack and be on their own. Moving away was hard but was something they wanted to do so when they hear something thump against the door during a blizzard, they are curious. To their surprise, they find Dalia, their third. She is running from an abusive wolf shifter who raped her and made her pregnant. Together Alric and Sam bring her in and start taking care of her. As time goes by, she starts falling for them and they all form a trio, but Dalia's past catches up with her and it's up to her to save herself, her unborn baby and her two mates. The story keep me engrossed from the beginning and I found myself wanting to be her! Wonderful book and since I hadn't read it the first time around, it was all new to me.

Great start to a new series! Sasha and her younger sister survived, The Virus. Will they be able to survive the World they now live in? Learning about a safe community up North, they decide to try and travel there. When Malachi sees Sasha, he knows that he wants her and to keep her sister safe. He wasn’t a good person before and knows how to survive in this world. Will Sasha agree to be his? Fast-paced read with loads of drama and suspense. The story really transports you to another time. I loved it!

This is definitely not your usual Jenika Snow book. It’s an apocalyptic romance with plenty of doom and gloom. Malachi and Sasha would have never been together but this new world nothing is normal. And they will have to fight to finally find there happy ending..........for now at least.

This is the first romance I've read where I skipped the sex and read the rest. Yeah, it surprised me too, but I wasn't expecting to have such a visceral reaction to an 18 year old heroine who should be in her senior year of high school being pursued by a dude who is in at the least his late 30s. This is my No Line, I found out.

I'm usually okay with age differences, but this was just too young for me. 18 year old starting college is a different beastie than 18 year old who hasn't even started her last year of high school. But honestly, if there's going to be a big age difference, I prefer it when the FMC is over the age of 20 and has at least a little bit of life lived at that point. I'm also not a fan of the upper class, never had a hardship in her life, thinks life is great and nothing bad ever happens, virgin trope.

But I'm not giving a rating based on that, since this is a bit of a shame on me for not realizing this was going to be that type of romance. It's preference rather than actual flaw in the story telling.

Overlooking the romance storyline...this is an interesting piece of apocalyptic fiction and held my interest enough to finish. One thing that definitely solidified for me during reading this is that even though I would be scared for myself in one of these situations—women always get reduced to incubator commodities or holes to fuck right away—the idea of what could happen to my 11 year old daughter was frankly, terrifying. Not because I haven't considered it, but more because I tend to suppress it when it tries to surface. Lucy is a cute, though seemingly young for her age, 10 year old child in a world full of monstrous men. And because of Lucy, I was wired tight into this story, having to watch her from afar and hope she safely navigated this new world they found themselves in.

Savage ends on a HFN with promise of more dark things to come for the survivors who banded together to make their own community. Tree Man and his rantings lend a mystical element to the story, and I want to see how it all plays out. And I want to see Good Things happen for Millie and get to know her better.

Overall, dark but good read.

Here's a story about another virgin good girl that meets bad boy at the end of the world.

Sasha is a teenage girl who hasn't even finished high school before a world crisis in form of a virus kills her parents and forces her into starting a new life that involves protecting her and her sister. The first 1/3 of the book is basically an endless dialogue about how much she needs to protect her sister and that she will fight with her life, etc etc.
In the meantime we learn about Malachi, a seemingly drug-lord psychopath with no feelings or empathy whatsoever who devours the end of the world, almost enjoying it - right. Ok. I can accept it, even if I had to read "fucking shit" in literally every other sentence.

After a lot of world-building, the characters eventually crosses paths. And here's what I just can't accept -

Overall it was OK and entertaining, but I didn't really fell for it.
