Kaz knows Boston isn’t a good person. He just doesn’t care.

Boston’s looks alone could only be the work of the devil. His wicked smile, sexual expertise, and black heart are further proof the man had to have been created by Lucifer himself. He’s tried ruining Kaz’s best friend’s life and has never been faithful to a soul. None of it matters. Kaz still can’t stay away. He tells himself Boston means nothing. Kaz can quit him any time he likes. As long as Boston remains a secret, no one gets hurt… Right?

As the former cruiserweight champion, Boston is used to having the world at his feet. There’s been few things in his life that have made him feel an ounce of guilt. Kaz is no different. Boston saw him, wanted him, and then set out to have him. He knows Kaz thinks to keep him a secret. But Boston hasn’t gotten this far in life by hiding in the shadows.

When their relationship takes an unexpected turn and is shoved into the light, Kaz finds himself at a crossroad. He can accept the life he’s always known, saving his heart and oldest friendship, or risk everything on the bad boy who could give him the world.

Pride, guilt trips, pity and self depreciation are the theme in this book. A tough combination on two semi unlikable men. At least they are equals in their misery.
Kaz is very keyed down in this, he comes off as a follower without any amount of self preservation. Boston keeps taking control and Kaz keeps letting him. Light submissive tendencies that feel very off character🤨

Add in a major health issue and many different personality switches and we have a very messy, unreadable and almost unlikable Boston.

Then, in true Charity Parkerson fashion, weddings and kids and let's not forget the white picket fences.🙄
But the forming found family is wholesome. The pushing of friendships in these books is heartwarming.

Another great addition to the series

As with book one in this new series, Parkerson brings to life the world of professional sport and the masculine men who operate within it.

She also redeems two of her previous bad boys with this tale of broken and scarred (and scared!) men finding their peace in the arms of the other.

And, as with all of her books, the cover is gorgeous.

Wickedly Twisted or Twistedly Wicked

One of these days I will stop doubting Charity Parkerson. I don't know of any other author that can make me fall so hard for a character that I was sure I thoroughly disliked as much as I did Boston. In Clinch, book 1 in the Low Blow series, we meet both Kaz and Boston. Kaz is Liam's ex and Boston is Gunnar's ex. Kaz I liked, a LOT. Boston? Not so much.

In Slip, Ms Parkerson shows us a totally different side of both men. I'll be honest, there were times I wanted to smack one or both of these men and there were other times that I had no idea how the author was going to pull it off. But pull it off she does. We get to see a side of these men that they keep hidden from everyone else. Sides that only they see. Will they be able to overcome all the obstacles in their path to find a love neither of them thinks they deserve? Will you be rooting for them like I was? Will you fall for these broken men as hard as I did? I think you will! And I hope it sucks you and won't let you go just like it did for me.

Some of my favorite lines that aren't spoilers:
**The way Boston's blue gaze followed Kaz's every move, as if waiting to pounce, had Kaz's blood singing.**
**"I wouldn't let you be alone"**
**"Your mind is beautifully brilliant. It might take your mouth anywhere."**
**"Everyone. They'll all hate you for loving me."**

*Received an ARC copy from the author for honest review*

When you find your person, the person that makes you smile and accepts you just as you are, don’t let them slip past you…hold on and be prepared for anything that life may throw your way!

Kaz and Boston are the most unlikely individuals to hook up...Kaz is a bouncer for a night club who is still mending a broken heart, and Boston is a prize fighter that has a bad boy reputation. Everyone warns Kaz that falling for Boston will only lead to heartbreak, but Kaz is determined to not listen…haters gonna hate, and Kaz was all in for loving Boston for as long as he can. But Boston has a secret…one that is a game changer for both of them.

Highly recommend Slip by Charity Parkerson! Look forward to the next in this series!

Fav quotes:

“Kaz didn’t think receptions in general had been devised by the devil. However, this one was certainly taking place in Hell. The music was too loud. People stood too close. He hated everyone from the bottom of his heart.”

“Have you ever tried seducing someone wearing skinny jeans?” Kaz shook his head, laughing too hard to speak. “It’s bloody awful. If I’m oiling up someone’s ankles, it had best be because we’re about to try some freaky shit. Not because their jeans are stuck.”

Wow wow wow!!!

I was not expecting to feel the way I did after this one. Here is a book where the two main characters aren't exactly your favorite people. Kaz isn't so bad but after the first book, I wasn't a fan of Boston at all. It's funny because in life I know and love by the fact that there are two sides to every story but in books I get swept away. This was a great reminder of that. What separates this series from Hard Hit is that it's darker with more realism and it's obvious there are secrets we don't know. I can honestly say I'm liking it so much more than I expected.

as much as I enjoyed this, I wanted tension at the beginning was kept. because I loved Boston's character. he's so special until, he's not. once their misunderstanding was cleared up, It's like, he became a different person. He suddenly acted like a romantist. because of all the warnings that Kaz would been hurt, I expected some conflicts. but nothing. pretty soon, I am sick of the whole I love yous and I personally didn't believe the freiendship between Liam and Kaz or Boston and gunner I almost expected they would switch their partners...

Look, I know--okay? I know. I so, so know what you're thinking. Yes, absolutely ridiculous, over the top romance with lots of sex. But this book had me so emotional about these characters. I just wanted them to be okay so badly. And the background issues with each of the main characters' exes and those tattered relationships... I just... my heart, okay? My.Heart.

I feel like I need a shelve called "don't judge me" but it's not like I'm going to stop reading these books.

An easy 5 stars, I didn't read the 1st book so I don't know the point of view of that couple, but Boston and Kaz are perfect for each other, the book have almost no drama and it's just about love that some people could think of as twisted, I'm living for this twisted pair, I liked how at the end things were better for both couples the last chapter was all I expected, I honestlt wish them the best.

Enjoyed

Happy to see Boston and Kaz get their HEA. I would recommend this book to others especially to the ones that have read book one. This book can be read as a standalone though.

I loved Kaz in the first book, and I fell in love with him even more with this one. He is hot, sexy and a heart so big. I actually think this book is better than the first where character chemistry comes together. It did take me a while to trust Boston. But overall, a good book.

Wow

Again she grabbed me with such an awesome love story. I'm loved reading a story where two people are destined to be just what each other needs.

Maybe if I had read the first of the series I might have a description of Boston and Kaz, since I'm pretty sure it was missing from this book that was about them. Because of that I felt a bit disengaged from the story and generally it felt throughout that I was missing something. Like there was a key detail that I didn't have so that puzzle of those 2 MCs coming together could feel complete.

Even so the book brought a lot of feelings and hotness, but for the sake of not going through what I did better start with the 1st and then move on to this one.

That said I will go back to read Liam and Gunnar's story and definetely read Aden's =D

Book two in the series. I loved Kaz and Boston's story. Boston showed up in book one. I kept waiting for him to be the bad guy. But in truth, he was a very complicated yet passionate and romantic guy! I truly enjoyed reading their story. I hope we get to catchup on their relationship in the next book.

This was my Favorite...

Boston and Kaz are both to really amazing complex characters. I absolutely loved all sides to Boston..each of his personalities grabs your heart just like it did for Kaz. Kaz was no different, he blindly trusted in Boston and his love because he was just up front and honest. There was no nonsense in this story between these to men. They just loved each other!!! You can not help but love along with them. Sometimes simplicity is the best way to winning your heart.

Maybe I'd have enjoyed it more if I'd read the first book. But for me this one was just too 'sweet' without the angst that I love. It was 4 stars all the way through the book. It the last section was just too damn happy- almost cliche.
The characters were great though and the scenes were hot. Overall, good stuff.

I didn't think I would like Slip as much as I liked the first book but I was wrong. I like how this story focused solely on Boston and Kaz. Once again Parkerson did an awesome job on the sex scenes. I do want to know what Aden was hiding from Gunnar though.

The book skips the first hook up and the first 6 months of the relationship. I feel like it would have been better if it would have showed how their relationship blossomed but they go from about to hook up in Low Blow 1 and than 6 months later and in love pretty much at the beginning of 2.

3~3.5/5

I'm not a fan of topping-from-the-bottom, and I didn't particular like that about this book either. Yet I still liked the book anyway. Like the first one, there is this curtain of fairy tales casting over the story, but it works well for a nice and easy read.
