Talia normally enjoyed her mornings teaching her class. The little boys and girls looked up at her, their big eyes rapt with attention as she taught them their daily lessons. But today was different. She felt it in her bones, but she had no idea her life was about to change forever.
Alec knew he shouldn't do this. He should've called, but this wasn't something you could talk about over the phone. Hi, I'm actually the father of your small child, who might be a Bear Shifter like me. Sometimes, you just had to be bold, even if that meant crossing the line into dangerous.
This 10,000+ word novella has hot Bear Shifter action, a Happily Ever After, no cheating and no cliffhangers! I've attached some free stories afterward as my thanks to you.

One second I was clicking on the cover to open the book on my Kindle and start reading, next thing it was I love you and happily ever after!!
There was no actual story no background stories ... no explanation as to how everything works in this shifter's world or what the hell was the epilogue about?? Really where is the story?? Wasn't this the first book? Did I happen to miss one?
by the end I checked a couple of times to make sure I haven't skipped any chapters by accident I was intrigued by this series but now I'm disappointed ... big time.
When I started reading romances (a looooong time ago!), shifter romances didn't exist on the shelves anywhere. I decided romances weren't very interesting, so I didn't read any more unless they were connected with mysteries or paranormal. I didn't discover these little darlin's until just a few months ago, and I finally started reading them just a little bit ago. I discovered I like them! They sure beat regular vanilla romances!
In this story Talia is raising her son on her own, her ex-boyfriend Danny opted to be a superjerk and harass her for her past decisions. (Another reason to keep looking for Mr. Right.) She comes in contact with Alec, who she doesn't realize at first, is her son's father (the sperm donor?). They grow closer and closer very quickly, but there is still Danny for Talia to deal with. El Superjerk, also her landlord, and a triple pain in the patootie. Well, you're going to have to read the story to find out what happens from there, but it is a really fast moving story and Danny should have thought twice or twenty times before giving Talia grief. I think the writing moves pretty well--well enough that I was engrossed enough not to notice any grammatical errors or syntax, or anything else. Becca Fanning is a pretty smooth writer, and an engrossing writer, so I certainly recommend this story to romance readers who want to try a werebear romance (bear shifters treat their ladies right!).
I received an ARC of this story in return for an honest, unbiased review--the only kind I give.
This is a super fast paced story about Talia a human. The boyfriend she was with at the time couldn't give her a baby so she goes to the sperm bank. Things didn't work out with the boyfriend but he had a son. A few years later the boy is growing fast and chewing on the table lol Out of the blue Alex shows up asking for a date and melting her heart. He just happens to be a bear shifter. He and a few others donated sperm to Dodson university for a research project. I would love to know how their sperm made it from research to a sperm bank but that might be part of the series yet to come! Like I said this is fun sized and quick read
Another bear shifter story from this writer. The burb says what the story is all about.
This is the first book in this series and the concept looked promising. It also started promising with a prologue. And how they meet and what her son is doing different as a normal baby. Put in an evil ex and you have a great story-line.
At their second dinner date Alec can't control himself after she tells him that her ex is blackmailing her. He can't control his bear. What happens next is written so quickly and without details. it feels like it was, oops I am only allowed to uses so many page in this story so lets wrap it up real quickly and lets get them into bed together. That is why I gave it three stars.
Also why is there a pink basket on the cover when they have a son together?
This quick read starts with an entertaining warning about jumping to conclusions on bad days.
Talia is an elementary teacher with a profound love of children, and Alec is a man who wasn't looking to change his life.
I wish we had gotten more of Alec's side of the story, as it felt like a lot of interesting stuff was going on there, but quick reads don't have a lot of space, and this was sought to cover a lot of territory.
The story was really cute but things happened way too fast I understand if it's like fated mates but even then they go through a process of coming to terms with it. She watches her ex get his throat ripped out and then does it with the guy who did The ripping of throats. the pacing was wrong. the idea is really great but they tried to put a story that could have been 300 - 600 pages into like less than a hundred.

Alec just found out he might be a dad. Talia has always wanted to be a mother. She finds the means to make it happen. Now when their paths collide, which path would she choose? Super cute story. Can see it as part of a series due to the other characters introduced in the prologue.
Cute story but didn't have substance. It is a feel good type of story about Talia who wants a baby and takes desperate measures by going to a sperm bank. Alec is a professional and a bear shifter who donated sperm for study. Like I said cute story.
I thought the cover book was good, but to get so many additional books was just crazy! All bears, in sets, 30(?) more books was awesome. All romantic, HEA. MORE than with the money!
I loved this book it was sweet how they had a conversation of he wanting to take responsibility for baby and explain everything that was going on just a great read
So she had sex with the guy who just killed her ex whos body is still on her front lawn, and a babysitter in the living room with her kid on the floor near the babysitter?

Went a little to quickly in places for me. Why have all the guys in the lawyers office? Would've liked an epilogue with a proposal not just them living together.
As always, the author has delivered a terrific story with believable characters and a decent backstory. Talia, the female lead, had a disturbingly violent ex who was continually harassing her and didn’t know the meaning of the word “no.” When Alec hears this he becomes so angry that he has to go outside to try to calm himself down so that he won’t shift in public. He winds up shifting anyway and running off, either because he believes Talia’s afraid of him, or to keep from hurting anyone else. Not knowing what else to do, she puts his clothes in his car and drives it back to her place. When she gets there she finds her ex waiting for her. When he grabs Talia to try to stop her from going inside, Alec jumps out from the bushes at him and attacks him, quickly killing him. He then shifts back and he and Talia rush inside, leaving her ex laying in the yard. Alec has already made the offer for Talia and her son James to move out to the preserve with him, and he repeats that offer. This time she gladly accepts, and they presumably live happily ever after.
The female leads in other stories have often quickly accepted their love interests’ shifting without too many issues, but this is the first time it’s happened after she dreams about him in his shifted form. Alec comes over during the day to check on Talia and James, and spends time playing with James on the living room floor. No mention is made of it at the time, but later Talia tells Alec that she knew he was James’ father when she saw them playing together, and Alec responds by saying he knew as well. Alec takes her out to dinner a second time, and it is while they are out that she tells him about her ex trying to blackmail her, and he becomes so enraged at what the man was trying to do that he had to go outside before he shifted in a restaurant full of people.
The only part that seemed a little contrived to me (which has never happened before with this author) was when Alec attacked Talia’s ex. Granted, her ex had evil plans in mind for her, but he may have only intended (for the moment) to keep her there long enough to threaten her some more, grabbing her arm to ensure she couldn’t go anywhere till he was done having his say. But Alec was still so enraged at the man that he didn’t give him a chance to do more than grab Talia before attacking and killing him. Whenever a fatal fight has occurred before in this author’s stories, the shifter has always immediately cleaned up after himself, hiding or burying the body immediately so it won’t be found by either other humans or wild animals. This time when Alec shifts back he just leaves the body out in plain sight in Talia’s front yard, she grabs his clothes from his car, and they rush inside so that he can quickly get out of sight. No mention is made after that of what he intends to do with the body, he doesn’t go back out to dispose of the body, the body is never mentioned again---not realistic at all by any stretch of the imagination (even for a shifter story).
Overall, I loved the story (even the rushed parts), and hopefully Alec and Talia will make further appearances in the other stories in this series, like the author’s done with her other stories.

I was given a free copy of this book for an honest review. I did enjoyed this book. But for my honest review and the reason I only gave it four stars you will have to read on.. This is the first book in a new series by Becca Fanning, which involves a group of brothers; bear shifters that donated their sperm to the university for research. Then they get a call to go to see a solicitor, from which they learn there has been a mix and they have all fathered children - the solicitor is offering them a settlement to sign away their responsibility but the brothers are having none of it, there is no way they are willing to walk away from any child they have fathered. Talia is a single mom to James following the breakup of her relationship, not that her ex wants to leave her be. I really do enjoy Becca's books and I truly wish they were longer but this time I have only given four stars is because of the way Talia and Alec meet, Talia is an infant or preschool teacher and during a morning lesson the alarm goes off unexpectedly and she gets all the young children into their drill of getting under their desks (which I found confusing, as it isn't clear what the alarm is about so I automatically thought a fire alarm so couldn't understand why they'd got under their desks rather than filed out into the playground? maybe it's how things are done in the states?) But then Talia peeks out into the hallway and see's the lights have gone off, which wasn't normal protocol (which again had I actually been in that situation it would have made me think of fire, as it can affect electrics) But then the door swings open and a huge man is stood there, so she scream's for help but she also becomes what we all want to be; the powerful woman, and she tackles the intruder with the fire hydrant and he crumples to the floor before the police rush in handcuff the guy and lead him away. Then later after school finishes and she heading to her car the guy is waiting for her and she except a date? OK more is said but that's the basis of the story but had that happened I can't imagine a lone female stopping to talk to the guy yet alone accepting a date, they'd be more likely to run back into the building and call the police as nothing was sorted before he was took away other than her learning from the school receptionist, that the guy had been asking about her at reception before ignoring protocol and heading to the classroom - and causing such an bad situation and what type of father is he truly going to make when he could cause those young kids to be so scared? - it doesn't ring true with the guy he actually is.?, which is such a shame as the actually story/series is really good and I honestly do say it is worth reading as I just fished part four and the books do move past the mistakes in this book:-) normally I hate to spoil any of the story for future readers but I felt this time, I had to say more to explain what I found wrong but it's not all of the story and there is a lot more to the story:-)
Five men met in front of a creaky sign. No one seemed to know what the strange message had been about. Inside, an elderly secretary led them into Mr. Partridge’s office for some sort of a mysterious meeting.
Talia Roberson taught at an elementary school. She was a single mom; her infertile boyfriend had left her when she turned to artificial insemination to have a child with him. Now her two-year-old son, James, was behaving strangely, and she was mulling over these thoughts in her mind. Suddenly a shrill alarm went off in the classroom and she had her students move underneath their desks for safety. An intruder broke in and she hit him over the head with the heavy fire hose. When the police came and ushered him away, they had no idea who he was or why he forced his way into her classroom. But when she left for the day, he was waiting for her in the parking lot! He wanted to talk to her and invited her to dinner.
The characters are likeable. But I think this story would have benefited if there was more time taken to develop the relationship between Alex and Talia. It stretches the imagination that she would readily accept a date with a man who had broken into her classroom that morning and was hauled off to jail. And on their first date that same evening, she explained fully about her infertile boyfriend and the personal decision to be artificially inseminated as if it were a discussion she routinely had with strangers. Then she “suddenly” poured out everything else bothering her too! The dream later about the romping bear was a bit too much. The last part of the book was completely unbelievable. But nevertheless, if you can totally suspend your disbelief, it could be an okay read. I love this author and I thought I would really enjoy this book, but I was disappointed by the direction it took before I reached the end and parts that were left hanging. Unfortunately I didn’t like the book I wasn’t feeling it. I did email the author and let her know my concerns but I didn’t get a response. I normally don’t have issues with her work. This time I did. I realize this is a short story. This is a Paranormal Romance and I understand its made up. As a reader I have to believe that some of the things that happen in books COULD potentially happen even in an unrealistic world. Reading as many books as I do a year those are just my feelings on it. What I mean by that are 2 main parts of the story.
1. Alec trespasses at her school looking for Talia which in turn she hits him and he’s knocked out. She’s got no idea what is going on but is in protection mode with her kids and herself. That part doesn’t bother me. What does is hours later after being released by the police he asks her on a date and she accepts. I want to know in what world would a woman do that? She still has no idea who he really is and why he was looking for her. She’s still kind of wary of him but goes out with him anyway?
2. My other problem is Talia’s attitude with everything that happened including her ex-boyfriend getting murdered in front of her. Now, he was a jerk and really pushy. I’m not sure killing him warranted that but ok. Surprisingly she’s ok with everything all at once. She’s like “oh ok lets mate” She somehow figures out that Alec is the father of her son James. I don’t quite know how she figured that out being human for one and only witness them playing together for 5 minutes.
This is an insta-love story but this moved a little too fast in my opinion and is way under development. I read short stories with insta-love all the time. Parts just felt off to me. I can’t recommend the book based on my feelings on it. I’m sure a lot will like the story and that’s fine. I’ll read the second story when it comes out and see how that one goes.

I enjoyed this book its fast paced steamy and the characters are well done. The plot is very good if a little short i really would like to see the author write more in depth books as its such a shame as she has the potential to do really well with more length to her stories. I liked the new introduction of prologue. There were a few things i didnt like to be honest which is why i marked this as a 4* not 5*. i dont think it was the best Becca has wrote simply as some bits are a bit unbelievable. The meeting she clocks him for being a stanger in her class and has him arrested. She later finds out he was looking for her but never asks him why when he waits outside for her and immediately agrees to a date with him. As a woman i think hormones would not take over caution when you know you have a kid depending on you. The other bit i really didnt like was that she watched him murder her ex then calmly goes inside to mate with him while the babysitter is still there and a possible body outside, it sort of ruined it for me. It was a great book but those two things were such a rush to get the characters into place i feel the book itself could have been great other than those things.
Alec, a bear shifter, and his friends donated sperm whilst at college. They get called into a lawyers office and the bombshell is dropped that they are all fathers. Bad news is that Talia, who got Alec's sperm doesn't know her baby is part shifter!
Talia is a teacher and when she and her partner couldn't get pregnant she went to a sperm bank. But when she got pregnant he got weird and she dumped him. Bad news is he is still her landlord and he has a really sleazy offer for her to stay in her apartment. But with her baby literally shewing on the furniture, she has enough on her plate to deal with. When a strange, but very hot guy, rampages into the school where she works, little does she know that he is the baby's father.
I loved Talia. She is a loving mother who doesn't care her son is different she just wants to know why. Alec is a total sweetheart. He is compassionate and just jumps into the whole fatherhood thing feet first and I loved the way he just tried to be friends with the baby and worked his way into Talia's heart slowly.
