I am a fantasy author.

Born and raised in rural Nova Scotia, Canada. I always loved fairy tales and was a voracious reader but truly became a hard core fantasy fanatic after reading Jane Yolen's Dragon's Blood. From there I discovered the worlds of Susan Cooper, Margaret Weis & Tracy Hickman, Anne McCaffrey, Piers Anthony, J.R.R Tolkien, and Isaac Asimov, all of whom have shaped my love of the genre. There are many other authors I also enjoy, however those listed above are the ones who influenced me the most.

I can't rule out the Atari either. My Atari computer had a tape drive and a floppy drive and existed before the first Nintendo. There were some pretty basic games, but there was also 3D dungeon crawler called Ultimate Reality. I explored those dungeons for hours. Later, Nintendo would keep me enthralled with such classics as Dragon Warrior and Final Fantasy. My love of those type of games has not ceased. When a good game comes along, it's important not to let it interfere with all the writing that needs to be done.

Way back when, I was pretty shy. I'm not going to say how long ago, but I am certainly starting to feel my age. I was the classic nerd/geek with zero fashion sense in high school. I loved technology, fantasy and science fiction. Those hobbies did not make you very popular, so it amazes me that nowadays it's so mainstream and cool.

I never imagined the amount of work that goes into self publishing. I always knew that writing a story would require a million edits. What I didn't consider was the work needed to create a cover, prepare a document for print, and the marketing needed after you click publish.

Thanks for checking out my stories. I hope you enjoy them and look forward to more to come.
