As a prior member of the US Navy, who just happened to be stationed for six years in San Diego, this book really tugged at my heartstrings! The mentions of Coronado, the SEAL base, and Comic-Con all brought me back to my Cali days. Go Navy and hooyah SEALs!
No, not those seals. The other ones. You know, the strong and sexy manly weapons-of-heart-destruction who are quick on their feet and good with their hands? Well, this book is filled with them. It is the second book of the series and the first that I have read. (Although, I do have the first book in my clutches, compliments of Lea Hart, so expect a review for Vortex very soon!)
Grady has just returned from an extended trip out of the country. He may or may not have been trying to avoid his loony ex-girlfriend, Angelina. And while he's away... the crazy woman did play. Angelina put on quite a performance while taking out all of her frustrations on Grady's poor house. Her antics entertained the entire neighborhood, including Grady's next door neighbor, Sara.
Sara is a woman in hiding. After an unfortunate situation with her biological father puts Sara on a crime family's radar, she has fled her former life and found herself here, living next door to a man who has obviously questionable taste in women.
But now that Grady has cut ties with Angelina, he finally realizes that something (or someone) special has been living right under his nose, all along. He immediately feels attraction to Sara and a strangely intense need to protect her.
Enter: Security Alliance International, the company Grady works for that specializes in just the thing that Sara needs to keep her out of the hands of the mob. Grady takes his job of protecting Sara very seriously, despite her efforts to push him away. Soon, the two are on a steamy journey to escape Angelina's wrath and put the mob's interest in Sara to rest.
This was a sweet story of a man finding someone special and trying to hold on to her. The plot of the book was mostly steady, but the romance side was quickly developed. So if you want a slow burn sort of romance, this book may not be for you.
I liked the storyline, but I loved the characters! The neighborhood elderly women were downright hilarious. Grady's coworkers were a colorful crew that I definitely want to read more about. In fact, I see at least two more couples brewing in the SAI company. I hope Ivy and Ryan's story gets told, soon!
My only critique is due to personal preference. There was a lot of sweet and sappy interaction between our main couple. Most people like this sort of thing. I do, too, to a certain extent. But I really prefer my romance to be snappy and spicy. In fact, I think that's why I look forward to hearing more about Ivy and Ryan. *wink, wink*
In closing...
Four suns for Whirlwind, which makes me want to go hug my Navy sailor husband and take a short vacation to San Diego!

When Grady gets back of a mission he hears all the details of what his ex girlfriend has been trying to do to his house so goes next door to Sara´s house to make his apologies for all that´s happened while he´s been away, what Grady did expect was to see Sara in a new way and feel things for her but when he invites himself to her training class when they spar with each other to get away from him she kisses him and the feelings he has is she´s it for him forever. Grady just has to get Sara to agree to forever cause while she´s been hiding she hasn´t been living. Grady not only offers his help to protect her he demands it, he has to protect her cause he loves Sara. What will happen when they have to face down the Mafia. This is the second book in SAI Series and it didn´t disappoint a must read would recommend this book to everyone.

Second member of the SAI Florida team finds his forever. This one is not as strong as Vortex, but the storyline has promise. Sara Montgomery has been living next door to Grady for over a year. He hasn't really seen her, and she has stayed clear of him because of his very loud relationship with a former lover. Now that he has noticed her, he is enchanted. She has a big secret, though and she needs help, even though she doesn't realize it. (Of course, these SAI guys always crash into a lady's life to help).
There is, of course, some very funny dialogue, some real danger for Sara, and a West Coast visit that gives us a chance to meet Mark and Birdie's baby girl. There is also a look at another prospective team member and the newest SAI executive.

Every book I read by Lea gets better and better! In this SAI story, we have Grady and Sara's story. Grady is just getting out of a bad relationship and Sara is on the run. They are neighbors and when Grady finally notices Sara, he knows there will never be anyone else for him. He makes it his personal responsibility to keep her safe and eliminate any threats to her. Sara is tired of running and just wants a normal life with Grady.
We get to see so many of the characters we have come to love through Lea's series and of course meet some new ones too. I love to reconnect with old friends and see where new romance might be blooming for the next book. Lea does a great job of connecting all of her series together. I think every time a new book comes out, her writing gets stronger and so do the stories. I thought there was suspense in this story and danger. And of course the alpha man that needs his woman. Loved the book.

Read This Book !!!!
Ms. Hart proves once again that she is the queen of red hot alpha heroes and snarky smart funny heroines. Grady and Sara are the new additions to the club. I demand that the authors I read give me great entertainment. They ask me to give them hours of my life. They better make it worth my time. Ms. Hart has not failed me yet. Read this book. You won't be sorry.

Wonderful story
I loved loved this book. I loved the characters and their story line. I loved it when he said:
I haven’t owned my heart since you kissed me. You have it, and there’s not a damn thing that I can do about it."
Love love this author. I cannot wait to read the next book from this author.

Best book in the series!!!
Finally a Navy Seal made mistake!!!....crazy ex-girlfriend! Thanks to the crazy ex Grady was able meet the right woman for him. Grady and Sara's love story will make you laugh again and again! I loved Gladys and Agnes as much as Grady and Sara. I loved all the SASSINESS! I can't wait for the next book!!!

Grady yes he is my next bbf! this guy is hot and alpha! And Sara is no shrinking violet, that always gets me, when the female lead takes charge of her own destiny. Absolutely love this series!

Loved it
To be able to lay on the couch and get lost in book is something I look forward too. With lea's books I know I can do that for hours. I hope to be able to enjoy more of her books to come.

Poor Grady just can't get nothing right! Sara is inspirational and spunky! Together you get an awesome story full of love romance suspense and twists n turns!

Nicely done romance with a security services backdrop. Characters were enjoyable and the plot was well organized. Easy read, worth the time.
