I want to write this review without revealing too much of the plot and the twists that occur within the story. I want to say the book did catch my attention immediately so that's how I ended up reading the whole book. The story line does not flow evenly for example: the main character's past and how the man who made her a kept chick came up with her nickname. In the flashback, Amina was walking to school she is 16 years old and Kaylin slows down and asks where she is going so when he asks for her name she says Amina Washington. Kaylin says I'll call you Mimi. Then Amina said okay well I will call you Kay when learning that his name is Kaylin. Why does Troy call her Mimi when she gets to school? It was implied that he came up with that name for her not that it was already her nickname. Lol I had to laugh at that part. Then there is not much background about where Troy got her nickname from because her real name is Katherine. I know she is not really a pivotal character well somewhat she does have some funny lines but I found myself skipping some of Troy's chapters in the book since she would just recap what Mimi said in the previous chapter. Whew! Anyway that was just a few of the inconsistencies I caught while reading but nevertheless it kept me interested.

What to expect from this story...hmm.. well it is urban fiction so it has what you would look for in that aspect but the main character Mimi is not one to mess with. The twists in the story will have you wanting to see who is behind what and why. The story ends with many unanswered questions setting it up for a sequel hence the word saga in the title. It is a quick read and it is not hard to follow. The characters are a bit shallow with low standards but the characters are young yet they have lived a life far beyond their age. I liked the book and will read the second book to see what happens to Mimi and what her loved ones will do to help her.

Whoa! Life is not a box of chocolates for these people, because ain't nothing sweet. You don't know who you can trust in this book, and if nothing else, everybody is fertile and out to populate the world, which aggravates me. I also could have done without the constant designer name dropping every chapter. In addition to that, everybody does not look like a celebrity, except apparently, they do in this book. At any rate, it was written well, albeit a bit far-fetched at times. So I went on to read book 2.

My momma always told me what 2 people know ain’t a secret. Secrets of a Kept Chick Saga is a great read. Bit will keep you entertained.

When you are in Love you will do some crazy things to keep your mate. Men’s held onto secrets that when they came out made more of an impact than what I think anyone could have imagined. Meena had deadly secrets that only her best friend and an old flame new about.

A cheater and shit.

Can’t wait for part 2 because revenge is a Mutha!

Ok, so this was a lot to take in 🤣 but I enjoyed it for the most part. I mean, so many twists and angles happening..Phew! However, there were some loose ends I found, like how does everyone except Kaylin know that Mimi had a two daughters? 🤔 Anyway, I loved how it ended because it definitely makes me want more. Looking forward to start part 2.
