Miranda and Me

Rate this book
Hello and welcome to the first book ever written by a dog - me, Miss Peggy Hart. I just couldn't wait any longer for Miranda's book all about me (Peggy and Me) to come out in October so decided to release my own book ahead of Miranda, and here it is! It turns out I am not just pretty face. And what a pretty face I hear you say. I know. Just look at me. I like to say I look like a cloud breathed by angels. I just say it how I see it. But my skills are not just my incredible natural beauty, I am also quite the literary whizz. And I hope you like my book . What's even more exciting is it contains Twitter stories from the nation's own #AndMe moments, the best of which Miranda and I have hand-selected to appear in this ebook! The great British public have spilled the beans on their own doting companions, canine or otherwise. Oh and it also contains a sneak preview from Peggy and Me AND an exclusive introduction from none other than moi and Miranda. Expect laughter and tears - fuelled by a rich reserve of chaotic cats, pompous pooches and the odd human along the way. I do so hope you like it because I love you very much and want to make you happy. I am lovely like that. Lots of licks and woofs to you and I hope to meet you in person one day.The Pegster signing out (but do follow me on Twitter @realpeggyhart).

A story from the perspective of British comedian Miranda Hart’s dog sounded really cool, even if it’s basically just a teaser for her memoir. As a fan of her brilliant sitcom, I was expecting at least a fun little read. But all this story is about is the dog pretty much saying: “I’m a dog. I’m cute. I like food. Did you know my owner Miranda wrote a book?” I mean, come on. A story from the perspective of a dog is a really cool concept. And this is all you do with it? That’s disappointing. What’s worse is that most of this book consists of nothing but tweets from fans and pictures of dogs, not the story itself.

I found this free short ebook (63 pages) on Amazon, and it's a teaser of "Peggy and Me" which is a full book published in 2016 that tells about Miranda Hart's life with her dog, Peggy.

"Miranda and Me" is written from Peggy's perspective and it's lighthearted and funny. It describes who Peggy is and what Peggy thinks of Miranda (e.g., what Miranda likes to do and eat, how Miranda overuses "such fun!" 😂). It's lightheartedly funny.

The book also includes photos of dogs/pets and their humans submitted via Twitter. The pictures and captions mostly don't match on my Kindle, but it's fun to look/read regardless.

I would recommend this book to the fans of Miranda show, unless you've already bought "Peggy and Me" as I assume there is some content redundancy.

This little story (and the info about Miranda's new book) came at such perfect moment for me! I needed something to cheer me up and this did a wonderful job at it.

I'm a huge fan of Miranda's work, so I may be slightly biased but I absolutely adored Miranda and Me. It's a short story from the point of view of Miranda's dog, Peggy, and a sort of small taste of Miranda's new book release in October. We're introduced to Peggy, who tells us a few things about herself and why she is the real star here :D The ebook also includes a section with photos tweeted by Miranda's fans of them and their cute pupils, as well as a sneak peek into Peggy & Me.

I would definitely recommend it to all fans of Miranda and her show, or anyone who likes humour in books, as it's a quick and really funny read :)

Peggy and me aber umgekehrt:
Lustiges, ultra kurzes Buch.

5 stars for the dog photos!

I'm a fan of Miranda and I love dogs. This is a prelude to Miranda's new book about her and her dog Peggy. Peggy already has Twitter and lots of followers (wondering if Miranda pinched that idea from Kim and Andy Murray's dog?!). Peggy tells us a few things about herself but I found the writing style annoying. All the 'tee hee hee's' and the amount of times she says 'SO, so much'. I didn't find much of the text amusing.

There is a small extract from the actual book and then the best part..people tweeted photos of their pets (mostly dogs). Some great photos and some cute dogs!

Super - quick freebie that just contained a little intro from Peggy, Miranda's doggie, and a load of pics and tweets from owners showing how much they love their dogs and other pets. I guess this is just a taster as Peggy and Me is out later on. Thankfully it was free, as it was a bit rubbish. I still love you though Miranda :D

This is a cute little ebook that introduces Miranda's dog Peggy. It is very in tune with Mirandas' type of comedy so if you have enjoyed her sitcom or her other book then you will enjoy this and her forthcoming book Peggy and me.

Fully enjoyed 'romping' through the book with Miranda! It is definitely unique the way she writes, her own thoughts portrayed along side that of her faithful hound. Peggy's point of view did seem repetitive at times but I think it painted a true picture of what dogs think of their human owners- they live and breathe to see you happy. Such silliness and joy they bring! I love the experiences, the funny moments revisited and exploring Mirandas history of comedy with Peggy as costar! It was such fun!

It was okay. You could tell it was just to promote the main book but it's free to download and it's nice to look at the cute animal pictures. Plus, it captured Miranda's, sorry Peggy's, voice perfectly even if the tee hee hees were a little annoying.

I love that this is actually attributed to Peggy Hart aka the dog. Hee hee. Well this little ebook had a helluva lot of typos (like was anyone even bothering?) but other than that, it was lovely and I can't wait for the full Peggy and Me book to come in the mail <3

1.5 stars, really.

Okay, so, as others have pointed out - this is not a book, this is a sample couple of chapters, written by a dog (who sounds exactly like her owner, just with a smaller vocabulary) and the rest of the thing (from 36%) is padded out with tweets written by other people, about their love for their dogs.

Now, I love Miranda Hart. I really do. I need to underline that for the sake of what comes next. This was very disappointing. The writing is bland and empty, with some quite shocking spelling errors and homonym slips, for example:

“Right now, back to the point in hand, I mean, paw. Although I get to chat to you a bit in Peggy and Me I simply can’t wait until that is published. I am just to to TOO excited. So I have decided to write my own. Get it published before Miranda’s. CHEEKY PEGGY!”
24-26% in, Miranda and Me, by (Peggy) Miranda Hart

To to too.

But the main issue with this one was twofold.

1) if it’s promotional and therefore, presumably, intended to increase sales for the main book, it should have been not only better written - thereby increasing interest in the main book - it should have all been the work of the main author, rather than filled up with tweets from other people.

2) I can name easily a dozen authors who are self-published (which some readers can be a bit sniffy about, as if it suggests an absence of quality) who could write better than this in their sleep. All I can think is: if this was written by really anybody else, it would never have been published.

Also, re: the tweets - the book makes a point of saying some of the tweets have been "edited for clarity". Shame they didn’t bother to spellcheck them because I found two errors without really looking.

I still love Miranda but this was disappointing.

This is NOT a book. It is merely and advertisement for an up-coming book. Two chapters of essentially drivel about owning a pet followed by a series of comments by others on her 'Twitter' account.
This was desperately disappointing. I know it was free, but that does not make this good! And if this is the quality of writing in the up-coming book, I will not be buying it. Frankly, its awful!! Beware!

Freebie that is purely to promote

I knew this was a short book and that it was designed to promote a book called a Peggy and me but as it was free and I usually enjoy Miranda’s work, it seemed like a no brainier.

However, I suspect that unless you are one of the people shown with their pets this short will hold little to no interest. Worth it if free, but otherwise it’s a few pages of text followed by lots of Twitter pictures.

Wasn't quiet what I expected as I didn't realise it was more of a build up before the 'Peggy and me ' book. However I felt there was a bit too much of the general public part and twitter and would have much preferred Miranda (and Peggy). Although the preview has not deterred me from possibly getting it at a later date.

This was actually something of a promo to introduce Miranda Hart's book "Peggy and Me." It is rather silly as it is told from Peggy's (Miranda's little dog) point of view. However it does demonstrate the love that Miranda felt for Peggy.

I found it free from a major bookseller in the Kindle section.

Most of the book is photos of readers dogs. It's just a handful of pages and took me under 10 minutes to read it. The preview of Miranda's Book 'Peggy and Me' was good so that will be downloaded soon.

I thought this was a little mini version of Peggy and Me, with the roles turned around, but it is just sales promotion for that book and mainly consists of tweets with photos of random people's pets.

Really Dreadful!

Sadly, this was my first encounter with Miranda Hart, and it will be my last. Just irritating, repetitive nonsense without any meaning. Books written by dogs can be good (see the Doodle books by Susan J. Kroupa), but this one is not.

Dont

It was free. I love MIRANDA just not this book. I was just tryin 2 find a humorous story 2 read after the very serious bk I finished that was a hard topic 2 handle (incest, sexual abuse, murder, corruption, and child porn). I continue my search.

Funny, cute short from a beautiful dog!

Being the dog of a celebrity can not be easy but Peggy seems to be enjoying herself. She is a beautiful sassy girl who deserves extra treats for her amusing story.

I didn't realise when I downloaded this that it was a short. And by short, it was over in about 3 minutes and I didn't totally understand what it was trying to be.

As this was only a few pages to 'advertise' an upcoming book, it wasn't worth the effort, sadly.
I'm sure those that had their 'pet pics' published were more than pleased ..
