The perfect love story. It puts me in the mind of the movie Love and Basketball. Kelani was hurt at a young age by her father and a basketball player in college. This turned her away from all men. I'm so glad that Shemar came into her life and was persistent. He also had a past filled with hurt. Him and Kelani were mean't to be together. Of course when things are going good, drama has to come along and mess up everything. His ex comes back into the picture after 10 years causing drama. It's about to get really interesting in part 2.
I cannot believe that cliffhanger and all of the drama! Tasha kind of disgusted me in part 1 as she never consider twins needs... I need to see what the heck happens in part 2! Great job!
This was my first read by this author, and I must say they did not let me down. This was a fascinating read to say the least. Kelani who’s a young lady that endured a lot after her father abruptly left from trying to better her future to learning not to be taken for granted. After a horrible situation happened in college Kelani vowed not to put her heart on the line again. The story line, and twist and turns reeled me in. Shemar and promising athlete has his worked cut out for him when he begins to pursue a lady very hard to get. Once that is done secrets, past indiscretion, and a whirlwind of love is soon to follow. As a follow this opposed pair and their friends I learned that there’s more then what meets the eye. When you think everything is peachy trouble soon follows. The shocking revelations at the end have me wanting more.
Kelani was a strong black woman who had her own and didn't need a man for anything this is what I like about reading these books you get to experience people of all walks of life the characters were outstanding in this book but what took the cake was the storyline the stories of love the source of standing by your man never saw it going this way but I love it from the professional basketball player down to the mother that is a little sick of depression....Tasha needs a rude awakening and she got just that now Shemar is a great man I love his willingness to take the chance on love ....OUT FREAKING STANDING
I don't feel sorry for Tasha she should have been single she's not ready for a relationship by any means. Kelani ass needs to stop being so naive how did she let one dude in college mess her up for ever, and Shemar ass made himself look guilty by not telling her his ex was back
This book was amazing. Author Lori Robins brought a new twist to urban fiction. I loved shemar he was just what the doctor ordered for Kelani... I totally understood were Kelani came from I'm just glad she gave love a chance...SN Tasha and Tammy are miserable and need to get their life
Great Read. I'm glad that Kelani decided to open back up and give Shemar a try at a relationship. Even though he about ran her down. I hope that snake Tammy doesn't mess it up for them and Kelani let's him explain. Tasha is going to mess around and loss Twon. And then she is going to realize how selfish she has been. Waiting on part two.
I read this in one day!!! I don't like a lot of characters but how they played into the story fit well! Enough background was given that it did not overpower the current story line! The struggles of each character was relatable and can't wait to see what happens in part 2!!
I don't like Tasha she is too damn selfish I want twon to find him a nice lady because that girl is all for herself. I knew Tammy was up to no good I just hope Kelani does not run off and leave my baby Shemar I love them two together.
Man Look here. I dont do sports nor read about it but this book was good. That Josh omg my words have failed me. Tasha wow. I would have been shocked too!! Kelani, man she just got played by somebody she considered her friend!! I gotta read part two to see what happens!! Ughh
Damn this book was good! I literally could not stop until I finished the whole story because I had to see what happened next.. I can't wait to read Part II because I have a lot of unanswered questions.. Great book young lady
Melanie and Shemar are made for each other. I love their relationship. I hope this with Tammy doesn't tear them apart. I knew she was up to something at that game.
I know kelani is going to go off on shemar and leave him but she needs to punch Tammy in the face first because she is dead wrong. Tasha was wrong to but this is all making since right now
An awesome surprise. A well written story that will have you saying dam. The main characters are loving, sweet, and believable. A realistic story with real life issues. Can't wait for part 2.
