Drake
Hot. Feisty. Irresistible. The second Nicole showed up, she was mine. It just took me a little while to admit it.

I know in my gut she's mixed up in something. Something bad. But now that I've claimed her, I'm not letting her go no matter what.

Even if the club doesn't approve.

Nicole
The only way I can find out who killed my father is to go undercover in the Blood Riders MC. Getting close to Drake was smart.

Falling for him wasn't.

I can't quit. Not now, when I'm so close to learning the truth. I just hope Drake can forgive me when he finds out who I really am.

Threat is book one of the Blood Riders MC series with no cheating and a guaranteed happy ending. This book is a full-length motorcycle romance novel that's intended for mature audiences only. Reader discretion is advised.

It was ok until the TSTL moment.

This came as a bonus book in with 'The Hitman's Possession' despite having mixed feelings about that book (well Tess actually) I decided to see if I liked this one more, and I did for the most part.
Since there's load of reviews already I'll keep mine brief.
So long story short:
Nicole decides to infiltrate the Blood Rider MC to try and discover if they killed her father.
I had trouble believing that the nerdy, well educated daddy's girl could transfer into a club girl but I went along with it. And while it wasn't anywhere near the dark read I expected I was enjoying it until the stupid part.
Now I'm moaning again but seriously if women were anywhere near as stupid in real life as they're portrayed in some books there'd be no hope for us, I mean come on!
Luckily the TSTL moment came towards the end otherwise I'd just have stopped reading but apart from this it wasn't a bad read, a much softer read than I expected, it was more of a romance first MC second kinda book.
Drake was hot and sexy and a lot softer than I thought he'd be.
#### SPOILER ####
Hawk is the president of the rival MC and after meeting him this is Nicole's response.
“Oh, my God. What the hell was that? He’s so disgusting, I could throw up,”
And she's told "Hawk’s the worst. Filthy, ignorant, nasty. Just vile. All of his guys are like that, too. They don’t all look as bad as he does, but they might as well because they all have ugly hearts.”
So she knows what he's like so when he sends a pic of Richie strapped to a chair in her house and she's to come alone what does she do?
She's an 'intelligent' woman who not only has the MC behind her but the police force as well so which option does she take?
She turns up alone, unarmed of course which means Richie has served his purpose and now she's the prey to trap Drake. I am seriously sick to death of these stupid women that are plaguing a lot of romance books these days and I have to ask why?
Am I just too picky?
Do people actually like these characters?

It could be a case of "It's just me".

I had previously read Tia Lewis's Stadium of Lights: A Second Chance Sports Romance, which I really liked, but this story was completely different. For one, it was about a MC Club, not sports. For another, there wasn't just angst and drama, there were elements of danger and suspense as well.

As a huge fan of dark and romantic suspense novels, I'll say that this story had a lot of potential. However, I felt that it lacked depth. The plot was rushed and unrealistic (timeline-wise), it needed to be fleshed out more, and there was almost no character development. so although the characters seemed to be likable, I couldn't connect because there wasn't enough to hold on to.

Unfortunately I didn't enjoy this one as much. However, I do look forward to more from this author because I did enjoy her previous book.

it DID sound dirty and gritty...hmmm
BUT ...

This being my second book by Tia Lewis and even as i liked the sport romance written by her, this book unfortunately wasnt what i expected.

I felt the relationship between the characters needed a little bit of depth. It was too fast to have developed any deeper connection between them.

They also seemed to be lacking in more meaningful characterisation in general, as well as the storyline went, it was predictable and narrowly straight forward without any twists or suspense.

The physical intercourse was nicely written and all considering it was a solid romance read but absolutely nothing more than that.

So i can give a rating in between 2.75-3 stars...

3-3.25 stars!!

This read was an in betweener for me. It wasn't bad or anything, I just could not connect with it and the story felt not as fleshed out as I would have liked it to be. It was very abrupt, rushed, and needed more layers to the characters and storyline.

I quite honestly, always like there to be more range to the novels that I read and some sort of core moral(s) to what to story centers around and I feel as if this lacked it a lot for me.

But, seeing as this is only the first in its series, there can be potential. I won't give up on this series just yet.

Not the best MC book I've read, but also not the worst.

When her dad is murdered by the Blood Riders, Nicole Bluth decides to infiltrate the MC as "Bree" to get answers. The death of three members has the club in chaos and mourning, wanting revenge. She meets club VP Drake Collins and sparks fly, and she knows he's the answer to getting to the bottom of her dad's death. She doesn't expect the sparks to fly, which will put her in even more danger from the very people who killed her dad. Will Drake be willing to keep Nicole safe even after he learns the truth?

THREAT, book 1 in the Blood Riders MC series was just an okay read for me, primarily because of the fact that almost nothing rang legit about the story. I'm all for good fiction, but at least make it somewhat believable if that's what you're going for. We have this uber dangerous biker gang who just welcomes this smart-ass girl into its protection (albeit with cursory "I don't trust you" words from Drake), not even bothering to do even the barest of background checks. Then, THEN, we have the wildly deep feelings that crop up between lunch and dinner, with the "I love you's" flying by dessert. Now, I get this is a book, but it was long enough to spread the timeline out just a bit, even a WEEK, to make them feel a little more realistic.

The sex was very good between the MC's, and their chemistry was excellent as well. Overall this wasn't a bad book, it was just too unreasonable to believe.

Bottom Line: No OM/OW while MC's were together; condom use; sexual assault; violence/murder.

This book was not for me—and I'm speaking as someone who truly loves MC romance. Tia Lewis' very pleasant writing style wasn't supported by great (nor good) storyline and well-developed characters.
Although both main characters talked like they were on top of the evolution, the heroine took it to another level. Every time there were mentions in the story about how awesome and smart she was, I couldn't help but wonder, "Damn, am I reading the same book?" because it surely looked like Nicole thought she was shitting gold and considered herself better than other people who'd chosen different path in their lives. She was grating on my nerves whenever her POV came up.
And her super undercover skills were just laughable. I was truly confused how this "very smart" hero couldn't see though all those inconsistencies in her story. I mean... All of this happened during three or four days! And she made so many mistakes even deaf and blind (or stupid) man would be able to spot them—especially when Drake claimed they were warring with another club. And still, they let her into their club without any background check and spilled their MC business to her within one day. That's just plain stupidity.
Speaking of the war, even though they spoke about violence and deaths, I didn't feel that dangerous, raw and gritty vibe I usually get from stories about MCs (whether they are one-percenters or not). Basically, there weren't any action scene at all... It was like expecting a tiger and getting a cute kitty instead of it.

This one was just an OK read for me. My main issues have to do with reality vs fantasy and the truth of the matter is that although this plot sounded good and the story was entertaining...Bree/Nicole would never and I mean NEVER have been able to walk into a MC Clubhouse and get away with all she did, especially being an unknown. The fact she learned so much club business from all the gossip and everyone seemed to talk about things that the women are not supposed to hear/know made me just roll my eyes. I like a little more realistic situations with my fiction and it just seemed very unbelievable that everyone trusted her, forgave her and accepted her into the fold so easily.
This is just my opinion but I do read a lot of biker books and know something of the culture/rules from first-hand experience.
If you want a fun and entertaining book with a fantasy type HEA, then you will like this one.

Once again, the author did not disappoint. Threat is a book that will get you sucked in from the beginning. I couldn't put it down and was craving to know more as I had no idea how it will end.

Nicole is a strong, intelligent, feisty woman, who decides to infiltrate the Blood Riders MC to find out who murdered her father.

Drake is the VP of the Blood Riders . He is strong, hot and sexy as hell! He is the Alpha you don't want to mess with.

When Drake and Nicole's world collide, you can feel the passion, for he heat but also their vulnerability!
I can't wait to read book 2.

I have read Lewis' Stadium Lights series and really enjoyed them, so when Threat was offered to the blog for review I thought why not. I liked the author's writing style in her previous work, so for me it was a no brainer. Threat is a fairly quick read and although I did like it, it seemed to fall a little short for me. I didn't feel as connected to the characters as I had in her previous work. The characters were good, they just lacked a little depth. Lewis does however give the reader a good dose of suspense and drama.

Nicole is on a mission to find out who has murdered her father, a detective that was investigating the Blood Riders MC. She has a feeling that the answers she so desperately wants and needs lie with the VP, Drake. When she decides to go undercover and immerse herself in his world. What she didn't expect was to be so taken in so quickly by the MC and once she meets Drake, there is no denying the connection that she feels when they are together. Can she keep the real reason that she has come to Blood Riders from Drake or will he learn the truth, putting an end to what they have started?

Drake, VP of the Blood Riders MC is your typical alpha male. With no shortage of women to keep his bed warm, he enjoys the fruits of his job. Loyal to the core, he will do whatever is necessary to keep the MC and his brothers safe. When he meets Nicole, he finds himself drawn to the beauty and he stops his womanizing ways...a little to quickly if you ask me. He does feel drawn to her and the chemistry between the two is hot. When lives are threatened will Drake be able to keep those he calls brothers and family safe or will there be unnecessary bloodshed?

As far as MC romances go this is a fairly tame one. It is not riddled with violence and brutal treatment of women. It is a decent read with some drama and suspense and the love story of Drake and Nicole wrapped up in it. It is a good start into a new series and I look forward to seeing Lewis grow with her writing with the next installment in the series.

This was just an "ok" read. I didn't "like" a lot of things BUT I hung in there till the end and it was ok.

SAFETY SPOILER BELOW: WARNING

PS This is not really quite a "safe" read for some of my safety gang peeps. It wasn't OTT non-safe but there are things that I do know some of my GR safety people don't like and won't like in this read.

3.5 BLOOD RIDER CROWNS

Threat is my first book by Tia Lewis and my first MC novel. I have never been interested enough to want to read an MC book, but this synopsis drew me in, making me want to know their story. It was well worth it!

I really liked the characters in this book, which I am not sure that I should considering they are an MC gang that commit acts of violence and are criminals. I, however, liked them. Tia Lewis presents them in a way that all of that becomes secondary. I actually found that as I was reading, I didn't even think about it. I really only focused on their positive qualities, and the heart of it, they are a club of brothers.

Our main character, Drake, VP of the Blood Riders, is honorable at the core of his personality. At the beginning of the novel, the reader understands that he is happy and content with his life at the club, but yearns for more. He wants someone permanent, someone to share his trials and tribulations with, and even though he is a VP of a MC, this idea is relatable and makes him relatable as a result. I wanted him to find that partner, his equal. I was rooting for him through the book, because he is a good guy behind the criminal activity.

Nicole, the heroine of the story, is seeking answers. She foolishly puts herself in the path of the club and danger to seek out answers to who killed her father. And while I logically can say she is foolish, I understand that people do crazy things when they are grieving, so I didn't fault her for her choices. At her heart, she cares for all people, and it was intriguing to see her learn that these men and their woman are good people and a family.

This plot will keep you engaged as it fast paced and filled with suspense. The reader is balancing the relationship of the characters, the threat against the club, and the potential leaking of the secret that Nicole is keeping. Although the plot is very interesting, I would have like for it to be more developed, just more background, more depth to the many layers she creates. Now, this is book 1 in a series, so after reading Reveal I could easily go back and change my review to 4 crowns. Because even though I wanted more details and development from the plot, it is still written well.

Threat, the first book in a new MC series by Tia Lewis, is a fast paced, engaging read that will have the reader falling in love with the Blood Riders. If you are a fan of MC books, this is definitely one to try, and if you are a newbie, like me, I think this would be one to try out first just to test the waters.

Brilliant start to a series

Threat the Blood riders MC is everything an MC read should be.

Angst, club business, drama, hotness and great characters.

The plot:
After the death of her detective father, Nicole has a plan to do a little investigating of her own and the only way of finding out who killed her father is to get into the Blood Riders MC.

Drake is the Vice President of the MC he's a typical hot alpha male and has his choice of women.

its lust at first sight when Nicole posing as Bree enters the club house and Nicole not wanting to have to sleep her way through the men becoming a club whore gladly accepts Drakes advances knowing no one else will touch her.

Threat is a suspence read that had me hooked from the first pages.

I loved the characters and the flow of the plot told in dual pov's and I am definitely looking forward to more In this series.

For Tia Lewis 's first MC book I thought it was brilliant and equally as good as others I have read that are on the 5th 6th or even more in the series.

Threat isn't an overly gritty or raw read with sex and violence like some mc reads but its as romantic as your going to get in the MC world

I don't usually read MC romances because I always worry that they will be too violent for me, and I definitely don't enjoy violence. I almost didn't read Threat but since I enjoyed Tia Lewis' last book, Stadium of Lights, I thought I would give it a chance. It did have a few "gritty" moments, but it wasn't too violent for me. Tia Lewis is a fairly new, but seemingly prolific writer (which I always love). Her first two books published last month and she has three more coming out this month.

I don't have a problem with Insta-Love, but I know many do, if so, this may not be the book for you. The "meat" of their relationship takes place over 3 days and then we get a cute epilogue from 2 years later. I really enjoyed the premise of this story, and how it played out. You get a feel for how much Nicole loved her father and why she needs to find out who killed him. I would definitely recommend this book for people that are just trying out MC romances and aren't sure if they will like them or not. It made me feel comfortable with reading more in this genre that I had previously avoided.

Great Storyline - Very Enjoyable MC Read
Threat is great start to what I see as being a great series. Tia Lewis, a new author to me, has taken a lot of the things one loves about MC books and rolled them into a great story. It has humor, suspense, thrills, romance and of course off the charts sex.

The story starts by informing the reader that Nicole’s father was recently murdered. Nicole is convinced the Blood Riders MC killed her father and decides to go undercover to find out exactly who killed to him. Drake, the clubs VP, is taken with her from the moment she walks in the room, but knows she’s hiding something from them. Does Nicole find out who or what was behind her father’s death? Was it the Blood Riders? What about Drake, does he put two and two together about who she is and why she’s there? The storyline has numerous twists and turns that will keep you turning the pages to see what’s going to happen and how all the pieces fit together. This book is a definite 1-click and I not only highly recommend it. Bring on book #2 Soon!

Overall I really liked this story so 4 stars for me. I think the premise of the story was fantastic. Woman seeking revenge for her father's death infiltrates the MC he was investigating when he was killed. Very interesting! While the author did an ok job with developing the story I don't think it quite lived up to the potential. Still, the characters were interesting and there was enough suspense to keep things exiting. In the end, I enjoyed it and would definitely recommend it. It will be interesting to read more in this series.

It was a good start for a new series and had all the elements for a great MC book. The storyline was interesting enough, but the characters I didn't love all that much.

Nicole was ballsy, I'll give her that, but she was book smart and well, street stupid. She didn't think her plan through and hopped in bed with Drake right away, even though she thought his club had killed her dad. And Drake, he thought Nicole was just another slut, yet they fell for each other within 24 hours. That I couldn't buy and ruined the romance for me, but I'm still looking forward to the next book in the series.

So this is a Free KU read and it was a quick read. I LOVE gritty MC and this was not that. I think it had potential but fell short. I was excited at the thought of the h going "under cover" and for the most part I liked the H. But when things came forth I didn't like the way all was forgiven. I needed more drama and angst.

The idea for the book was good, but it wasn't executed right. I mean, a girl going undercover to try and find her father's assassin, it's a good idea, what I didn't like so much So I think it was a good idea that just didn't get well developed. As usual, I let little things like common sense get in the way, and that makes me not enjoy the book as much.

Drake is the VP of Blood Riders, cocky as hll, and knows he can have any woman he wants. And the woman he wants comes from the feisty Nicole. Nicole is investigating the Blood Riders, because her father was murdered by someone in the MC. She has no intentions of falling for the hunky VP but that’s exactly what happens. But when the lines become blurred and she is put in the line of danger… can she trust that Drake will protect her over his club?

I was sucked in the minute I started reading and I liked every single page. I’m no stranger when it comes to MC books, so I wasn’t disappointed by this book at all. Tia knows what she’s doing when it comes to Alpha bad boys… and women who keep them in their place. Great start to the series, and I’m excited to see where it goes next!

Drake is the VP of his MC club, readying himself to soon become Pres. he can't make any mistakes. Now that they have already lost 3 to the Cobras he has to be extra careful to keep his men safe. He doesn't do relationships. But when she arrives, he can't help but think she's perfect for him. Or is she?

Nicole wants to find her fathers killer. Going undercover in a ruthless MC club she is in over her head. When the VP takes notice of her she knows she has to keep going on her mission. No matter what. However the feelings and the truth about these men are more than appearances.

I love MC and this one is no different. To tame the wild and untamable man is what we all want to do. We want the man that nobody else could claim. And Drake is that man. He's broody, hot, and bada$$. The sex was hot, the banter fun, and the story line intriguing. The story had definitely taken us on a good ride. I can't wait to read who's next.

review 1

Cover- It's a catchy cover! It's the type of cover that has me choosing to read this book without even looking at the blurb. Looking at it I knew this would be an MC novel with a sexy alpha male. It's pretty clear what this book will be about and you get what you see.
Plot- It was a fast-paced read, that had me wanting more. I've enjoyed the overall concept of the story, even though some things needed to be better constructed. It's a promising beginning for a new series.
Characters- I like them. Drake is hot and bossy; Nicole is kick-ass and take charge.
Heat/Romance- This book is hot! The author writes some great descriptive scenes. Their first time has you needing a cold shower afterwards.
Addictiveness- It was a very fast read for me. I was really into the story and had a hard time putting the book down.

Review 2

Plot- It was too fast and full of contradictions. It was full of promises that were not delivered at the end.
Freshness- I can't say that I found something new here. It was all very predictable, without any twist. I've missed a few plot twists.

my-thoughts

Ok. I have really enjoyed the book, but I must point out a few flaws.

I usually don't mind insta-love, but I believe they must be somewhat coherent. This was not! The girl who first went into the clubhouse was sassy, full of hatred for the group and 12 hours later is ready to jump into someones bed without even some fight. Really, if he was the one starting, maybe it would have been more believable. I understand chemistry, but when you believe that person is responsible for murdering your father, you at least need a few days to truly know him better, so you can start finding some redeemable qualities.

I have also missed some action inside this club. Oh, everybody was ready to fight and at the end they were all drinking and partying all the time. In fact, for a MC book, this is too tame.

If you have been raised by a cop that has spent his life dedicated to get this certain group, that is your hero, than you suddenly become part of this group? It was never really confirmed what they were doing at the clubhouse, but it had to be illegal. So, the ending in another party, didn't jive with the heroine personality. Ok, she got her "prince", but she accepted all the illegal stuff? I don't know, it was too hard to believe in all of it.

quote

I won't touch you until you beg me to do it. I won't put my hands on your body until you feel like you'll die if I don't. And you will. I promise. And when I do give you what you need, you won't look at another man again for as long as you live.

You MAY buy this book because you enjoy MC romance; you SHOULD buy this book because you are looking for a promising new series; you MUST read this book if you like your romance HOT!!!

Drake and the rest of the Blood Riders have just buried three of their men after an ambush by rival gang the Cobra's. Nicole has just buried the only family she had, her Detective Father, Robert Buth. When Nicole is advised that the cops suspect the Blood Riders of killing her Dad, Nicole decides to go undercover and find out who did it. Drake doesn't fully trust the new girl Bree that showed up with prospect Richie, but he's attracted to her like he's never been to another woman. Nicole can't believe she's basically selling herself out as Bree, and the things she willing to do to prove these guys are guilty.

I really loved how the story flowed and how Nicole worked through the emotions of the loss of her father. Drake, despite his womanizing ways, has a kind heart and is very endearing. Another great story by Tia.

This is my first Tia Lewis read and I was not disappointed in the least. I love MC books and this was a fresh read in the MC world. Threat is a book that will suck you in from page one and have you wanting to know more and find out the answers.

Nicole is a feisty, stubborn and intelligent woman who decides to go "undercover" on her own within the Blood Riders MC to find out who killed her father.

Drake is VP of the Blood Riders and besides being just as stubborn as Nicole hes also hot as all get out. He is one person you do not want to mess with. But there is more behind his layer than what meets the eye.

This book give you not only a great MC but amazing characters, drama and angst. The suspense of not knowing what will happen next or how Nicole will fake her way through being a "club girl" will have you flipping page after page to get more.

Great read from Tia Lewis that I recommend to all MC readers and even those who are thinking about venturing into the MC genre. It will not disappoint.

I liked the romance between Nicole & Blake. Also, the friendships she built quickly. And the ones he had in the club. Some of the secrets, once they started coming, were revealed rather quickly is the only reason I did not give it a 4 stars. I did enjoy the book & am about to read the next in the series.

Loved it 🔥😍🔥

Unique and intriguing plot helps to make this first book in the Blood Riders MC romance series so awesome. Very well written that flowed from page to page. Couldn’t put it down. Well developed characters and storyline. Totally recommend it 🔥😍🔥

Didn't finish it. Could have been a good story but the characters just weren't believable. No way would someone fall so fast and believe the lies being told. Too easy.
