Hannah Fielding is an incurable romantic. The seeds for her writing career were sown in early childhood, spent in Egypt, when she came to an agreement with her governess Zula: for each fairy story Zula told, Hannah would invent and relate one of her own. Years later – following a degree in French literature, several years of travelling in Europe, falling in love with an Englishman, the arrival of two beautiful children and a career in property development – Hannah decided after so many years of yearning to write that the time was now. Today, she lives the dream: writing full time at her homes in England and Ireland, and in the South of France, where she dreams up romances overlooking breath-taking views of the Mediterranean.
To date, Hannah has published eight novels: Burning Embers, set in Kenya; The Echoes of Love, set in Italy; the Andalucian Nights trilogy (Indiscretion, Masquerade and Legacy), set in Spain; Aphrodite’s Tears, set on the Greek islands; Concerto, set on Lake Como; and Song of the Nile, set in Hannah's homeland, Egypt.
Set against the spectacular beauty of Spain, Hannah Fielding's Legacy is a wonderful piece of romance that commences gently, in a poetic manner soon to be turned into a whirlpool of secrets, lies and storms one does not faces customarily.
When Luna Ward, a young science journalist has been appointed to investigate the plot holes in a doctor's clinic, she is far away from understanding its significance.
Being involved with a world full of secrets, the reader himself questions if what he believed till date about relations should be checked once more to confirm their fidelity.
In reviving romance into her readers' lives, Hannah Fielding's dedication is magical. Passion flows in her writing effortlessly. It is crisp, delightful and heart-breaking. She voices her characters in an unforgettable melody.
Like her other tales, she has penned down characters who challenge her readers, who do not flinch, who are persistent to the core.
Legacy offers romance, beauty, wonder, suspense and love from the beginning to the end.
I have read all 3 books in the Andalucian Nights series. This is the third and final book in the series. It was great to revisit characters that show up in all 3 books. Reading this book, any of the books in the series really will make you forget your troubles as you get so absorbed in the book the afternoon will just fly by.The rich descriptions of Spain will make you fall in love with it. The cool spray of the beach.the exotic food, the gypsies. They will enchant you in this magical book. Luna Ward, a young science journalist investigates a clinic claiming to have natural cures that work for ailments including. Having no idea she was falling in love with the clinic's head of operations, Ruy Rueda de Calderón. He is not all all who she expected him to be and it's not helping that she is running into him literally everywhere she goes. The tension mounts as they spend more and more time together. I loved the dynamic relationship between them and respect between them even when they argued and had a misunderstanding. There is a longstanding family feud between their families What happened recently doesn't help it at all but love will find a way and family feuds doesn't stand a chance when the talking and forgiveness is present. I loved this whole series but each book can be read as a stand alone. I do recommend the whole series though! My review for "Legacy" by Hannah Fielding will be featured on Romancing the book blog, later this month. Look for the full review by clicking on this link: http://romancing-the-book.com/
When a troubled young journalist heads to Spain to investigate and expose the truth behind an alternative health clinic touting cures for cancer, she is not only unprepared for what she discovers, but she will also find answers to her own heritage and any ghosts in their closets.
At first blush, we can prepare for an intriguing romantic suspense novel filled with hidden agenda, secrets and lies, as two strangers are caught up in a whirlwind romance that steals both of their hearts. Once you begin reading, you know this is something special, something purely in Hannah Fielding’s style, lyrical, enchanted and alive. LEGACY is just another in a string of books by Ms. Fielding that will sweep readers into her world, as she creates the beauty and romance of Spain with her words.
Don’t expect a high velocity start, expect to be gently brought into this tale on the breezes filled with the smell of flowers, the feel of the breezes and the energy of the streets. Feel the settings come to life like magic, as Luna undertakes her investigation in a foreign land that has enchanted her as much as the doctor she is investigating. Rodrigo de Rueda Calderon is as brilliant as he is charming and handsome, but what is going on in his clinic? Does he hide secrets?
Passion flares, blending with the sights, sounds and sometimes flamboyant citizens of Cadiz. Truly a romance between two people that will be filled with conflict, yet, Hannah Fielding has also given a flare of reality to her tale. One will see the Spanish phrase as Luna hears it and it is as if we hear her mental translation as it is repeated in English. Do NOT let that break your concentration, feel it as a piece of what anyone hearing a foreign language would!
Once again, Hannah Fielding has brought the world of romance to life with her quiet and passionate words and descriptions. The final question remains, what will happen between two intense human beings when their truths are revealed?
I received this copy from Hannah Fielding's PR in exchange for my honest review, having read the previous books in this series.

Luna Ward is a medical journalist sent on assignment to infiltrate a clinic claiming to have found “natural” alternative medicine that works. Her passion to prove this a hoax comes from deep emotional scars.
Luna is surprised to find the young and sexy man that she connected with on the plane, with witty banter and a wonderful intellect was none other than the head of the clinic. And she can’t get him out of her head.
Luna and Ruy Rueda De Calderon, clinic’s lead doctor have many secrets that cause havoc in their lives.
Legacy was a slow start for me but once I was hit by some of Fielding unexpected twists and turns throughout the tale. This was my first read in the Andalucian Nights series and found that Legacy read like a standalone, not leaving me feel like I was hanging in the dark.
Overall, this is a good contemporary romance with a slight touch of Gypsy Hoodoo on the side.
I received this copy of Legacy from Hannah Fielding. This is my honest and voluntary review.
I don't know where to start; this novel was packed. Mrs. Fielding describes the sites in an incredibly breathtaking way. It made me feel as though I was seeing the splendor of Spain through my very own eyes; that made feel nostalgic for a place I've never been. And that sentiment was so overwhelming and odd to me. It felt like each paragraph describing the cities and their landmarks was literally like canvas being painted on with words. This was a first, I was utterly captivated by the way of writing. The connections and historical events and the ties were so carefully and delicately woven it was astonishing. I admired Luna's resilience and self-reliance, but what I loved more was how she progressively overlooked that part of her by virtue of her fervor and passion for the man she loves, the one who's willing to cherish and hold her. Among many aspects, I found this as the most exhilarating sense of Luna's character transformation, which -let me just say- was absolutely grand. What I also loved about Luna was the way she prevailed over her prejudice towards Ruy. Ruy, the guy with a tortured past and this unexpectedly vulnerable part of him. Nothing hits me harder than a supposedly-arrogant man with a dark past and a fragile heart. Oh, the feels. Did I mention he's un médico?!
And finally, I'd like to introduce my favorite character; Señora Sanchez. She's such a huge part of the novel. And I literally lost it when everything clicked together at last. I feel so frustrated for the fact that I can't write or talk any further because I honestly don't want to spoil such an extraordinary story. P.S. I'm not usually a hopeless romantic, but reading this novel got me soaring into a whole new level of exquisiteness and ardor. P.P.S I need to learn Spanish ASAP.
***First off, I want to thank Ms Hannah Fielding for sending me a copy of her book in exchange of an honest review. This doesn’t influence my review in any way.***
Okay. First thoughts, “Oh hey I like this because there are undercover mission, and then there’s romance. This should be fun.” And then, “Okay, so far so good.” Lastly, “When is the story gonna catch up?” “Still nothing.” “What the hell.” Conclusion, “That’s it. I’m done.”
Truth is I was excited to read this book because it was said that this was fast paced romance and, again, there’s undercover stuff. But as I read this and managed to read up to a hundred pages, there’s nothing going on except two people attracted to each other but not doing anything about it. And then the rest is how it was describe their attraction to each other.
Bes, as every time I read this book I get a headache. I don’t know why. It’s one of the reasons why I can’t seem to continue reading it. The concept of the story is pretty good. It has some kind of mystery but it’s not like other mystery romance books. The only thing is, some things seem to contradict the other things in the book. Like Luna’s attraction towards Ruy is so strong but then she doesn’t want to have any other relationship towards him. It’s like she’s not ready or something else but then it wasn’t totally explained why. She surely wants to be with him but when an opportunity comes, she won’t take it.
It’s like there’s a chase and then when they finally caught each other, Luna will wake up and then run again and then there’s a chase again. It keeps going and going and I got tired of it. I keep waiting for something to happen, something like, I don’t know, Luna finding something that is actually essential to her real purpose in being in Spain. But no, there’s none.
Also, one thing that I can’t get through in this book is the narration. It’s in third person point of view and it’s mostly on Luna’s. I’m fine with it. The only problem is the paragraphs after paragraphs of describing other things aside their feelings. I mean sure, it’s important to describe the surroundings of the setting of the scene to paint a nice picture inside your head but sometimes it’s too much. And if you haven’t noticed up till now, bessies, I’m not a fan of too much describing books.
Every time I open the book I keep saying to myself that I’ll finish this now. Then when I start reading, my mood is gone and I can’t continue. I can’t keep reading. And then I realized that it’s harder for me to DNF a physical book than an ebook because no matter what I do or say to myself just to make me finish it, I really can’t finish reading it, I DNFed it. I got tired of reading of something that there’s nothing happening except two people obviously attracted to each other but not doing anything about it.
To wrap this up, I hope I can say that it’s a good story. But I didn’t manage to reach the end of it to say that. I don’t also know if I should recommend it or not because for me, I didn’t quite like it. There was nothing happening in it. But if you bessies want to try and read it, then go ahead. You might like it.
That’s it for my review of this book bessies. No rating because I DNF it so I don’t think I have the right to rate something I didn’t finish. :D
I must admit that "Legacy" is my first ever book by Hannah Fielding, but as soon as I've seen the beautiful cover of this book, and read the synopsis, I was intrigued - Luna's boss wants her to investigate a clinic in Spain. She lives in New York right now but she is half - Spanish, and also the investigation could help with Luna's personal dilemmas. There is also - of course - a verrry interesting male character involved in the person of the clinic's doctor, and believe me guys, I was really immediately sold, so I didn't hesitate long to agree to be a part of a blog tour for this book.
However, soon it turned out that I'm going to have a problem with this book, and it was the very descriptive writing style. I love rich descriptions, as long as they don't keep me away from the plot, but sadly it was a case this time. I had a feeling that the characters are never going to come up to a conclusion and it took them three, four pages before they replied to an answer for example. Just have a look at this: "A vivid streak of lightning flashed down to earth from the sky, followed immediately by an ear - splitting crash that seemed to shatter the ground about her, a deafening roar of mighty thunder that rolled and reverberated angrily from directly above, grumbling as it travelled away into nothingness. That tiny part of Luna that still clung to a modicum of reason registered that the storm was passing over. Then again there came more blinding flashes of light that shone through the trunks of the trees like the sharp flickering of old cine film. In fact, the storm was edging closer." - see? It's beautiful, right? But it is also so pompous, descriptive, and when the whole book is written in this way, there comes a moment that you are just tired with the richness and beauty of words. The second problem that I had is that was a very slow read and it was quite uneventful. It also took me some time to get into the story at all. The romance didn't work for me so much - no idea why! Must be my problem. Maybe it's because it is a long book and it focusing only on the romance did become a little too dull eventually - but the author has captured the passionate budding relationship with all its up and downs in a great way. It is explored in - just like all the other things in this story - in a very detailed way, that truly doesn't leave much to imagination, as we know everything, all the inner thoughts, feelings and emotions of those involved. The above mentioned ups and downs were not of life - changing significance, so maybe it's the next thing that made it not working for me. However, this relationship was very straightforward and even the will they/won't they didn't make it so thrilling - yes, there were some misunderstandings, but I wouldn't say that they were so significant to write about starting the relationship for more than 400 pages. I appreciate that the author tried to add some spice through some characters and some events from the past though, although I was dead sure that even this is not going to change the end of the story - because it was clear from the very beginning how it's going to end.
I was also expecting, what with the blurb signalizing, that the story will also focus on Luna and Ruy's work - it would be really interesting and I was really waiting for a scene or two happening at the clinic, or seeing how they work and what it is they do, or how Luna's investigation looked like - this could make the pace in the book quicker and the story itself a little more brisk but sadly, except for a few passages it mostly focused on the two love birds and their will they/won't they.
But rich descriptions apart, I think it was mostly the setting that made the book - I personally felt as if I were in Spain, as the author could really beautifully tell about the sights, sounds and people. "Legacy" is a story with a depth about chances, secrets, secrecies and overcoming barriers, about learning to trust. I would say that if you are a romance's fan than it is a book for you. I personally have expected something more, something different, something that would keep my attention for longer and not make me skip some of the passages. However, judging on the very exuberant writing style, Hannah Fielding is a very talented person and she has a way with words and she has written a passionate book, and I will be looking for more from this author.
Copy provided by the publisher in return for an honest review.
Legacy by Hannah Fielding was one of the most beautiful, exotic and sensual romance novels I've read this month.
A journalist travels all the way to Cadiz to interview a successful doctor who is hiding a dangerous secret and...delicious drama ensues.
Spring, 2010. When Luna Ward, a science journalist from New York, travels halfway across the world to work undercover at an alternative health clinic in Cadiz, her ordered life is thrown into turmoil.
The doctor she is to investigate, the controversial Rodrigo Rueda de Calderon, is not what she expected. With his wild gypsy looks and devilish sense of humour, he is intent upon drawing her to him. But how can she surrender to a passion that threatens all reason; and how could he ever learn to trust her when he discovers her true identity? Then Luna finds that Ruy is carrying a corrosive secret of his own…
Luna’s native Spanish blood begins to fire in this land of exotic legends, flamboyant gypsies and seductive flamenco guitars, as dazzling Cadiz weaves its own magic on her heart. Can Luna and Ruy’s love survive their families’ legacy of feuding and tragedy, and rise like the phoenix from the ashes of the past? Legacy is a story of truth, dreams and desire. But in a world of secrets you need to be careful what you wish for…
A troubled young journalist finds her loyalties tested when love and desire unearth dark secrets from the past.
I was sent this book by the author herself, the beautiful and talented Hannah Fielding, whom I have grown to respect and love, because EVERYTHING I've read by her has been an instant favorite.
At the top of my list is Masquerade but this one is becoming a close second.
As always, I absolutely enjoyed the descriptions of the exotic locations the novel takes place in. The author gives an intense feeling of the place, the country and its people, and I love that feeling of being there, of actually immersed in the story.
The story itself has a great deal of suspense and drama going on so, if you enjoy that kind of thing, like me, you're in for a treat! A lot of secrets emerging from the past, life-threatening danger, unanswered questions. But what made this book really special for me (and a bit different from her other books) was the tension between the two protagonists. You could cut it with a knife! I enjoyed the back and forth of their relationship, as they started with an initial attraction, which quickly escalated in scorching heat. In the end, however, it takes them a great deal of hardship, so that a true friendship and relationship of trust will form between them, before they even have a hope of a happily ever after!
I totally recommend this book to all fans of (mostly clean) romance, especially if they enjoy their romance lyrical, sweet, and with a touch of suspense.
This story has the very distinctive (READ: romantic) signature of Fielding's writing. I was immediately captivated by the passionate Ruy who was a paradox unto himself. He is quite intense - a passionate Spaniard. I need to dub him swoon-worthy. He has the personality, the body, the brains, and a touch of Alpha (in the best way possible). Ruy was by far my favorite of the story.
Luna Ward initially comes across as a bit cold and somewhat lost soul. Professionally she has it together, but her head and heart are way behind everything else. Going to Spain was a way to find out more about her life and herself. Moreover, I believe she needed to be found by Ruy. Hiding behind her ever-pragmatic persona, she almost misses out on seeing, experiencing, and reveling in the mystically beautiful aspects of life. She lived in a world of black and white until Ruy brought on a tsunami of color.
I was surprised a few times in this book. It took me a bit to become invested in the story; I found it was a slow start, but once things began to roll, I was enchanted by the setting, the twists and turbulence in the story, as well as the development of the characters. There is a heavier and more dramatic tone to this story, but it is appropriate and done well. The romance (physical, emotional, and mental) is wonderfully melded with the spirit of the writing.
The story resolves exactly as it should, and you're left with a complete picture of who these characters where and how they will live & love on. Sounds like a worthwhile read to me.
Thank you for sending me this book was a fantastic read. Loved the plot gripped me throughout. Worth 5 stars. Can't wait to read more by this author :)
"Legacy" is a great conclusion and - for me - the best book in the series. Like the previous books, it's well written; the writing is captivating and wonderfully descriptive (you can almost see the spanish scenery in front of you). The protagonists are likeable, have edges to them and secrets that make the story exciting. The dynamic between them is interesting as well. Luna has problems to trust men due to traumatic experiences in her past, which is why she does not really welcome Ruy's advances even though she feels attracted to him. Moreover, her reason to be in Spain is to write about the alternative medicine he practices and she regards as quackery which he doesn't know. He also has a secret that could hurt their blooming relationship. conceals something that could hinder their relationship stones. This keeps the book captivating and as a reader, you just wait for both to learn the truth and how they react to it.
The development of their relationship is well written and there are many beautiful, romantic moments between them. I must say that Luna's prejudices against Ruy have bothered me a bit, but when you consider what she has experienced, they are understandable. It was nice to see that she slowly looked behind the facade and realized that some things are different than she thought. Of course it is not easy between them. Both make mistakes, there are misunderstandings, they do not communicate well. This was frustrating, but the book itself refers the famous Shakespare quote that the course of true love never runs smoothly and this certainly applies to Luna and Ruy. The chemistry between them is obvious and you feel that they belong together, but they have to overcome obstacles and mature before they are really ready for their happy ending. It was worth it though - I really liked the way the story ended.
I also liked that the couples from the first two volumes - Alexandra and Salvador as well as Luz and Andrés - appear again and that you can see how happy they still are after all the decades they were together.
I give "Legacy" four stars. The love story was nice, the characters likeable and although there is also drama, it was well balanced and not over the top. _________ I received a copy of this book through Netgalley. Thank you!
Legacy by Hannah Fielding is the third book in the Andalucian series. The book is an intense and intriguing romance, which does not allow the reader to put it down. Not even for a moment!
Luna Ward, a medical journalist, is sent to Spain to conduct a research on an institute that preaches the use of herbalism and hypnotherapy as an alternate cure for cancer patients. Her organised and proper life tumbles down when she lays eyes on Ruy, the handsome gypsy musician and also the institute's head. While Ruy doesn't shy from expressing his feelings for her, Luna finds herself in a tug of war. Her primitive emotions on one side and the fact that she is secretly spying on him, on the other.
Ruy, on the other hand, is mesmerized by Luna but he has some demons of his own too. The past creeps up to him from time to time and puts him in a tangled spot as Ruy thinks of finding the right time to tell Luna everything. With their love for each other so obvious and fierce, both wonder if it will all be lost as soon as the other is aware of each's past.
As stated earlier, this is the third book of the series but is a standalone book, which is great. I personally love romantic books and this one had me at the edge! The author has done a wonderful job of rendering a story so powerful that it feels realistic. Even after the book is done, one goes back to the characters, revisiting their emotions and circumstances.
The lead characters of Luna and Ruy are very strong. Luna is portrayed as the organised one, who has always had her head in research. But her emotions go wild when she sees Ruy. The feeling is mutual as Ruy finds that he, too, cannot keep his hands off her. All these feelings and train of thoughts for both the characters are quite amplified which adds a realistic feel. Both are shown to be physically drawn to each other but not in a sickening sort of way, which is a relief!
Legacy gives the reader a glimpse of the ever romantic and beautiful country of Spain. The culture, the people, the streets, the food - one can experience all these things through the book. It also throws some light on the way of life of the Spanish gypsies and is quite enjoyable.
As a final word, I would say that I definitely recommend this and the others in the series(although I haven't read the others but I'm sure they would be no less interesting!) to all romantics out there. A refreshing read, indeed!
This contemporary romance novel is an exotic tale set in Spain, and filled with rich history, legends, and traditions. This wonderful locale is the perfect backdrop for a hot, steamy forbidden love affair, but love is the furthest thing from Luna’s mind when she accepts a job as a scientific investigator. Her job is to work undercover investigating alternative medicines being used by Dr. Rodrigo Rueda De Calderon.
However, her first sighting of the doctor, in a most unusual environment, awakens a longing in her she can’t shake. When she discovers Ruy is her ‘boss’ and her target, she must swallow any desire she has for him in order to do her job objectively. But Ruy is a very persuasive man, one who is seldom rejected by the opposite sex. Luna’s insistence on keeping their relationship professional only increases his desire.
While it is predicted that Luna and Ruy are fated to be together, an old feud between their families and the secrets they are both keeping could cause their love to die on the vine. Can they overcome the obstacles in their way in order to find true love?
I will confess, I thought the story would have more of an investigative tone to it, and would perhaps have the reader suspect Ruy , creating more of a mystery surrounding the work he is doing. However, that area of the story takes a backseat to the slow, romantic dance between Ruy and Luna as their passion develops into an intense love affair.
The author does an amazing job of capturing the essence of Cadiz. The Andalusia Flemenco originated with the gypsies who settled in Cadiz, and this bit of history is woven expertly into the story, and is described so well, I could envision all the sights and sounds of Cadiz, which felt like a such an exciting place to be.
It is easy to see how Luna was easily seduced by this exotic, and remarkable locale that awakened her senses, touching on her own heritage, which seemed to draw her out of her pragmatism, and inspire her to take new risks and live in the moment.
Secrets and surprising discoveries kept me interested in the story, however, I thought it ran just a tiny bit too long, and could do with a little tip or tuck here and there, to keep the pace from dragging.
Ruy is Spanish. and as such, is quite passionate and amorous. He comes on a little too strong sometimes and is quite arrogant in the beginning, but I grew to like his tenacity, and absolutely loved the grand gestures he bestowed on Luna.
I enjoyed Luna’s awakening, her embrace of this part of her heritage, and how she blossoms as the story develops.
Overall, this story has a magical quality to it, telling a fervent, tantalizing, and sweeping love story, is rich in details, and captured my imagination as well as my attention.
I received this book from the author for the purpose of this review. All comments and opinions are entirely my own.
Flawless writing and impeccable character building. Legacy takes the readers on a journey through the passions and desires that are aroused from the romantic Spanish culture.
Everything about this book is exquisite; stunningly captured in a way that brings not only the story to life, but also the characters and their feelings with them. It has been a very long time since I have read a book that was written this beautifully, so I am going to be giving it 5 out of 5 stars and simply giving a warning to my followers.
The romance and selective language is extremely high, with intense romance scenes and vivid comments/thoughts from characters, however, this is not an erotica novel by title, just a passionate romance (that does include a sex scene).
This is the first book by this author that I have read, I loved the blurb and the setting but unfortunately for me it was nearly a DNF. It is a long story with a lot of description in it and I didn’t feel any bond with the hero Dr Rodrigo Rueda de Calderon (Ruy) or the heroine Luna Ward, they kept their secrets a bit too long I think for me and way too much thinking from both of them.
Luna who is a journalist has been asked by her boss in New York to travel to Cadiz, Spain to investigate a Dr who runs a clinic specializing in alternative medicines for the treatment of cancer, as this is close to her heart having lost a dear family member to cancer Luna accepts the position even though she has family ties in Spain that she would rather not catch up with.
Ruy is half Gypsy and has suffered in his life but also has worked hard to get where he is today, he has been having a lot of success with his natural treatment of cancer he is also a musician and is close to his family, and has been known as a playboy he has yet to find his lifetime partner, Although that will change when he meets the eyes of the beautiful woman one night in the nightclub.
Fate and destiny have stepped in bought them together and yes the love was instantaneous and it is a very strong and deep love that is sure to last a lifetime, but before they can get to their HEA there are a lot of bridges to cross and secrets to uncover. This is a story I am sure many will love, it was a bit too descriptive for me which I think took away from the hero and heroines journey.
First of all, I love the cover. It's very beautiful. Secondly, the blurb is interesting and promising, with the undercover thing. When I read the book, I found that this book is only about the romance, despite the blurb. Well, this is a long book with not that long story in it. The more I read, the more I found that this book is going very slowly, too descriptive to my liking, and it got disturbing to the plot. There are twists and turns here and there, but they didn't go quite deeper to affect the plot. So, 2.5 stars it is.
I ONLY recommend this book to fans of romance novels.
I voluntarily read and review a free copy of this book provided via Librarything Members Giveaway.
I'm excited to have read the Andalucían Nights series and even more excited to say that I have genuinely enjoyed each novel! I'm a fan of strong lead females and Luna had an exceptional story to follow. I loved the descriptions of Cadiz. Anytime an author can make you feel like you've actually been somewhere you've never even seen pictures of is such a treat. The romance was one that will leave you longing for your own romantic story.
A great romance novel, loved the setting, loved the characters. It's been a long time since I've read a traditional straight forward romance novel and I really enjoyed it. If you are looking for a lovely romance to read and especially as a holiday read then I would recommend this book to you.
Thank you to London Wall Publishing via Netgalley for the copy.
The protagonist, Luna, a medical researcher/journalist goes undercover to investigate the head of a Spanish alternative medicine clinic, Rodrigo de Rueda Calderon (Ruy) who has tall claims about his "natural" methods to cure life threatening diseases such as cancer. Ruy is a complete charmer, the typical Spanish hot blooded passionate male and has a reputation of being a womanizer. With his dark irresistible looks and fascinating gypsy ways, he pursues Luna with unrelenting enthusiasm. Luna discover the murky bond between her Spanish side of parentage with that of Ruy's family which ends up throwing her already complicated life into a full blown spin.
In spite of being the third book in a series, the book can be read as a standalone as it isn't a logical continuation of the other books.
The book was an absolute delight to read. The rich narration and vivid descriptions is every prose lover's dream. The writer has brought to life the charm and sensuality, the region of Andalusia inherently possess. Reading the book made me want to visit Cadiz. Thanks to her previous books, I managed to visit Cordoba. It is evident that the setting deserves a special mention. Spain is truly a magical country (for that matter I'd say most of Europe is magical!)a nd the writer has very smartly used that to construct the series. Andalusia, Cordoba particularly can overwhelm people with it's old world charm. I'm sure the writer has not written the series based on a "internet research". The tone, the writing, all of it sounds as if it was born purely out of the creatively inspiring setting from a physical visit.
The story, the setting, the narration all if it were simply perfect. It wouldn't be surprising if the entire series is given the same treatment, few years down the line, as that of Jane Austen's works today - Classic romance with a cult following!
Science journalist Luna Ward is sent to an alternative health clinic in Cadiz, Spain to work undercover and produce a feature on the clinic’s unusual methods. Whilst there, she catches the eye of the clinic’s founder, Dr Ruy Rueda de Calderon, a handsome and charming half-gypsy. Ruy is determined to draw Luna to him and whilst she cannot deny the attraction between them, she is scared of giving in to his advances due to a traumatic past that has left her with a guarded heart. Both Ruy and Luna hold secrets and as they grow closer, they must work to overcome the barriers of family, secrecy and tragedy that threaten their love in order for their relationship to survive.
This was one of the first novels I have read where romance is the sole genre and I enjoyed it more than I expected to. The author is obviously well versed in writing romance, and the passionate relationship between the two main characters is explored in great detail through their interactions and also both of their inner thoughts. Alongside this, the atmosphere of Spain is beautifully described in such a way that the sights, sounds and smells of Luna’s new home are almost apparent to the reader and the locations of the novel become easy to visualise. I enjoyed the parts of the novel that focussed on the gypsy culture as well, as this was something new to me that I know very little about.
Unfortunately, a whole 400+ page book focussed solely on romance did eventually become a little dull for me. I found that the apparent ‘issues’ keeping Ruy and Luna apart were either quite petty or, if very serious, were easily overcome through a couple of conversations between the characters – at no point did I ever feel that their relationship was truly at risk, as any arguments between the pair lasted no more than a few pages. It seemed to me that the author was scared of upsetting her readers by producing any real divide between Ruy and Luna and so quickly resolved any disagreements so as to avoid producing any upset. Personally I believe that a bit of heartbreak makes a story more romantic, and I would have felt more invested in the relationship if the author had taken a few more risks in it. Although she tried to inject drama and upset through the interference of some characters, it progressed with only a few very minor upsets and so the ending did not come as a massive surprise nor was it hugely fulfilling, as I had predicted it virtually from the first page. Once I had finished reading, I found that I could not recall a whole lot of actual plot happening in the book and whilst perhaps this is the case with some romance novels, it was a little disappointing personally. I was also frustrated that more information was not given on the actual work that Dr Ruy was doing at the clinic or Luna’s investigation of it – this was glossed over in favour of focussing on the romance, which was not unexpected but did come across as a little lazy.
Overall, if you are a fan of pure romance then you will probably enjoy this book, but it does suffer from a lack of any real threat that, in my opinion, is needed for a truly romantic novel. The author is talented but I felt that to be more invested in the characters, I needed them to experience more hardship on their road to happiness. I would consider reading more by this author as she writes passionately and descriptively but would probably not recommend this story in particular.

Another beautifully written story by Hannah Fielding! I enjoyed everything - from the names of the characters, Ruy and Luna, to the exquisite descriptions of Spain. "...the morning was blue and gold - a poem of warmth and sunshine." I fell in love with the rhythm of the country, the descriptions of the fiery gypsies and the intense passion lurking on every singe page. A lovely story!
Luna Ward is 25 years a journalist for the best Medical Magazine in New York. Or maybe the perfect Scientific US has one of the best and first in class Molecular Biology at Princeton, while with most impressive PhD in Medical Communication or briefly Scientist with perfectly academic knowledge in their ranks. But ..... Does all this knowledge will be enough one day when her boss, the Honourable Ted Vandenberg will award the most important task of her career. Expecting to be released after six months internship is assigned to be an investigative journalist in secret. Specifically its task is to unveil the manner of operation and functioning of the Institute for Research on Natural Remedies from Cadiz, Andalusia. Its function as a non-profit organization which puts emphasis on alternative way of treating cancer patients, in particular treatment based on natural herbal remedies. This task includes the main culprit and financier of this institution renowned Dr.Rodrigo Rueda de Calderon. One of the most powerful figures in Cadiz, phenomenal doctor, with sharp wit and extraordinary knowledge of ancient medicine. Among other things known as Playboy in the true sense of the word, which no pardon them steals the media space of major pharmaceutical companies. And it is precisely so called Playboy will attract attention and will intrigued Luna`s mind. However returning to Spain for Luna is still not healed scar. One hot night in one of the street bars of Barcelona, attracted by the extraordinary sounds of flamenco eternal, perfectly performed the nicest man ever saw, Luna is not aware that she will fall in love with right Rodrigo Rey de Rueda Calderon. Which is far from playboy, and so close to the perfect man of her hottest fantasies.
And not for nothing the people said, “ In this world, full of secrets careful what you wish “ !!! If you thought that this is just another love romance, you are in a huge delusion !!!
This is a real love at first sight, the way we could only dream of. Love from that dream. Love that desire.
But ..... story written by Hana is not so simple.
Here you will find the power of women, the size of the male love, and emotional scarfrom family.
The significance of female beauty, sex appeal in mind, the beauty of feminine courage.
Perfection and weight of male love.
Deep emotional scar in ruins family.
Scar deeply embedded in the soul of a child who grew up too soon. Father obsessed with his business and his mother totally ignorant of the existence of his child.
The scar which can envision a mature enough kid, an excellent student, a successful career, a perfect man and a lovely powerful woman.
Caliente, apasionado y maravilloso! I have never fell in love with a place inside the book like ever, more so I have never fell in love while reading a book! This is the first! Hannah Fielding's expertise in bringing us to Cadiz, Andalucia in Espana is great here as she takes us to this paradise of wonders.
Luna and Ruy's love is one of a kind. A different story of fate far from those that I have already read. They are destined for a tell-tale romance infused with secrets, repressed emotions and uncontrollable passion that the two lovers cannot escape.
The Latin Telenovela in a book
This novel reminds me of my telenovelas. The arduous escapade of romance. The string of destiny willing its way for a passionate momentum. The sunsets. The house by the beach. The sensuous boat ride. The island get away full of love making. The tall, dark and handsome Senor and la Hermosa senorita. This book has all the magic!!!
Rodrigo Ruy Rueda de Calderón, the Gitano Doctor
Tall, dark, handsome and playboy that is Ruy Rueda de Calderón. However, things turn its way around when he met Luna. He knew he likes her and she feels the same way too. At that instant, beguiled by her beauty and personality, he pursued her and proved her he loves her in the most passionate ways possible.
Luna Ward, the Queen of the Night
Luna is as bright as the moon. She is a confident heroine tryingbto suppress all her affection for Ruy as she knows she must protect herself. However, she cannot runaway from her own fate and soon she finds it easier to accept the ardor she is bearing towards him. I love how she resolved her dilemma the scene showed her maturity, her sincerity and love for Ruy.
Legacy is one hell of a by the sea romance. This novel have me falling hard for Cadiz that I also want to find love in that place. Although there are moments when I feel that making love is the language of the two leads, somehow Ms. Hannah Fielding really showed that Luna the Queen of the Night lights up the brooding Ruy Rueda de Calderón and like the Moon and the night sky they make the best complement.
Luna half Spanish half American gets an undercover job to investigate the controversial work of Doctor Rodrigo Rueda de Calderon. She must go in Spain for that, and the doctor isn’t what she expects to be, a young and attractive man. The attraction is vivid between them but could they cross all secrets and finally find true love?
Legacy is the third book of the Andalucian Nights series and is perfectly written like the other two books. Hannah Fielding doesn’t spare words but genuinely gives us in this perfect story which started in Indiscretion, the first book of this series. This is well written and engaging story, which brings my emotions up and down along with Luna and Rodrigo.
Luna is smart and dedicated to work young woman, who is frightened to give her heart. Rodrigo is a half-gypsy, and his reputation isn’t good, but his charm and humor work like a magnet to Luna.
I like how they met and how slowly get to knowing each other playing hot and cold. The settings, beautiful Cadiz on the Spanish coast makes the story to sound more convenient and more romantic. The house on the beach which Luna rents is fascinating, and it fits very well in the picture of Cadiz.
The whole package which includes the story and the characters is unforgettable, and It will stay in my mind long time.
I recommend Legacy for everyone who likes romance in extremely romantic and exotic settings and for everyone who loves intriguing love story twining with secrets.

Legacy is an intriguing, well-written, compelling romance novel by author Hannah Fielding. The book introduces us to Luna Ward, a beautiful ice-blonde half-American half-Spanish girl. When she’s commissioned by a leading New York science journal to investigate the head of a Spanish alternative health clinic, she jumps at the chance. But she never expected she would fall for him. He’s a brilliant, outspoken man, with irresistible looks and a devilish sense of humor. Luna feels drawn to him, but can she give in to the passion she feels, especially when she can’t really be honest toward him?
I didn’t read the previous books in the series, but I had no trouble following along for this story. It’s a very passionate, romantic story set in a picturesque small town in Southern Spain, which immediately gives it a holiday feel. A large part of the book is the gypsy community, and I enjoyed reading more about gypsies, their culture and lifestyle.
Luna was an interesting character, and I could easily connect with her. Ruy was amazing too, dark, handsome and mysterious. The chemistry between them is undeniable, and they’re both very passionate and romantic.
An ideal romance novel for during a holiday abroad (if you’re going to Spain, and enjoy romances, I can’t think of any book I could recommend more than this one) with a solid cast of characters and an excellent setting.
Do you accept your destiny or do you run? Luna has taken on an undercover assignment to bring to light a doctor and his practice. The doctor uses natural methods and Luna knows that they don't work, her cousin went down that route when she had cancer and it killed her. The doctor that she is about to meet is nothing like she pictured, he is younger more handsome and he does things to her body that she isn't happy with. Ruy is attracted to Luna and he can't stop thinking of her but she isn't falling at his feet like all the other woman do and he can't understand why. They both find it very hard working with each other as Luna starts to like him and she is here to do a job not fall for any man. Ruy has a secret that will destroy their new relationship, he just doesn't know how to tell her that he was driving the car when her half sister died, how will she ever forgive him? Luna is angry that he kept it from her but she has her own secret and she knows that he will never trust her again. The more they learn about each other and their family secrets they more they realize that they could have a future but they just need to trust each other before they lose everything. A great story full of fairytales, letting go of the past and make new memories. I was lucky enough to receive a copy from the author.
