I've always been intrigued with how fast Beth Jones writes her books. It has always amazed me. Of course, I wanted to learn more about it since I am an author who doesn't write fast. How To Write Your Book Fast gave great tips and tools to practice. As for creating an outline before you start the writing process, I think that each person is different in their approach. For me, I do need an outline to stay on task, gain more clarity, and stay organized. All three of my published books and the one I am currently working on started with a rough draft. It wasn't fancy, but did give me a place to jot down ideas, chapter titles, scriptures, and necessary content. The chapter in this book about outsourcing is important. The one lesson I've learned through trial and error is that a picture is worth a thousand words. And the image you choose for your book cover can make or break retail sales. Therefore, I strongly recommend aspiring writers to interview plenty of graphic designers and artists in effort to have the most eye catching image. While it may involve an expense, I believe this is the top priority for any bestseller. No skimping on your book cover! Another area that Beth Jones mentioned is outsourcing technical help, such as an expert in formatting an e-book and print book. Unless you are super savvy and experienced, hiring a trustworthy professional can be a godsend. I know that it made a dramatic difference for me. I loved Beth's enthusiasm and real life experiences that she shared in her book. It was like having a cheerleader rooting behind the scenes to keep the momentum going!
