Before they can build their heaven, they’ll have to go through hell.
Brick Greenhugh is the only mechanic in Piedmont Falls, a biker haven that also caters to tourists. When he’s not fixing cars and bikes, he’s trying to keep his younger brother Deck out of trouble. He has no idea that a chance meeting with a beautiful woman stranded on the side of the road is about to change his life forever.
Scarlet Beaulaste doesn’t do relationships. After growing up in foster care, bounced from one home to the next, there’s no room in her heart for trust. But British bad boy Brick, with his dark hair, green eyes, and lean muscles, stirs feelings she’s never had before.
The heat between them quickly turns incendiary, melting their defenses and burning through every inhibition. Just as they’re about to have it all, tragedy strikes and heartbreak drives them apart. Scarlet needs Brick more than ever … but her man is lost in plans for vengeance.
Can they find a way to heal the breach and start a new life together? Or will the darkness swirling around them drag them both down and destroy their chance at happiness?
BRICK is a scorching hot MC romance with no cheating, no cliffhangers, and a guaranteed happy ending. Contains mature themes and intense scenes that may be too much for some readers.
Don't go in to this thinking this is your typical biker story because it isn't but I can see if there are follow up books it will be more MC based.
The humour and sassiness of the h was fun - she was so independent and not used to relying on anyone else. The H was Alpha - gotta love an Alpha. As an Alpha he screwed up - don't they always!? He was sorta justified, I suppose, I am being generous here but he came good in the end.
Really enjoyed this story - great characters, great side characters - the only thing I wanted was an epilogue further in the future - it was a HEA but I wanted more - telling sign of a book with good characters.
I love MC books, and was not disappointed with this one. This is the story of Brick, who is the typical, hot, bad boy biker, and Scarlet who is sassy, and independent. This is a good read with great characters, and the story had depth, as well as being humorous and emotional. The only downside for me was I felt it was too short, but that is just my opinion! I enjoy reading Meg’s work, and she always has me enjoying her stories, and looking for more. I recommend Meg’s work to all readers. I received an ARC for an honest review.
NOTE: I received a copy of this book in return for my honest review.
What did I think of 'Brick'? Well I didn't know what to expect when going into the book. Yes there's a synopsis I had available but where is the fun in that? It's basically a Bad Boy Bicker book - enough said.
Let me get it out there now, I do not include anything that could spoil the mood, feeling or well actual parts of the book. I dislike ruining anything of a book, because it's the experience of it.
What I can say is this: It's a really good read. I liked the characters and the story gets deeper and deeper. To me plot wise, all included it's not so basic of a story of girl falls for 'bad' boy and he's hot and stuff happens...it's a great story. Characters are well written, I didn't find any flaws or lacking of anything - and that is ALL characters.
If you haven't read Meg Jackson before...I suggest you read this, and possibly look into her other books too because this book is to par with the rest. Well written, enjoyable and well who doesn't love some hot moments right?
Ok - so bottom line, I recommend. I liked, I didn't stop reading, it's not too short leaving you wanting more. Meg Jackson does a good job of keeping you interested, not bored but allowing the story to unfold slowly. Come the very end, you're happy with all you got and you don't feel you needed anything more.
I laughed, smiled, teared up a moment or two - all the things that make reading a good book, well good. So READ THIS BOOK. (And, if you like it too...leave your own review, starts or words - either way. Authors rely on reviews to help get their names out there and more reviews help make more books. End of story. :)
This is a very short read that is quite honestly, average as grits. Neither Brick nor Scarlett are all that complex. Very light on the angst and the steamy scenes are just so so and limited. hmmm...3.5 stars, and Im being generous.
