Terran Captives #1

Taking The Human

Rate this book
He took everything from her … and she found the only thing she ever really needed.

For Alisse Southwick, the problem wasn't just the musclebound 8 foot tall alien who'd taken her from everything she'd ever known. No, the problem was she was seriously contemplating trading the knowledge that unlocked the secrets of the universe, in exchange for her freedom — sexual and otherwise. She was a woman of science, yes, but why did the alien holding her captive have to look like something out of her darkest wet dreams?

From the moment he'd set eyes on her, Lukanos knew only one thing: he had to have her. But there was one minor problem — she was a human. To even show himself to a human — let alone abducting one — was against every law of his people. But each time he looked at her, those sparkling, keen eyes, the long, sable hair, and the lush, shapely body human females were notorious — and celebrated — for, his resolve to follow the law, to obey his people's sacred Directive, was in serious danger of crumbling. He knew he wasn't supposed to want her — but he knew somehow, someway, she would be his — whether she was ready for it or not.

Taking a human being was much more than an abduction though — it was a taboo act. Fearing he'd lose more than his commission in the Survey Corps, Lukanos quickly learned he was far from the only one of his people obsessed with human females. He wasn't the only one keeping a female slave.

The repercussions for capturing humans were serious, but Lukanos was prepared to endure them. He'd endure almost anything to make the gorgeous human his, in every way.

But what's a captor supposed to do when he begins to fall for his captive? Does he keep her as the only thing she'll ever be on his world — a sexual plaything? Or must he — for the first time in his life — do the right thing?

3.5 Stars

So, I really did enjoy this story, despite only giving it 3.5 stars. There were just a couple of things I would’ve like to have seen that I didn’t get.

Alisse has been abducted from Earth by the humanoid alien, Lukanos. But it’s going to be rough go for them as humans can only ever be sex-slaves on Lukanos’ planet. Alisse is a scientist who willingly decides to stay with Lukanos because of the amount of scientific information she can garner from the experience. What plays out is a very erotic and sensual growing relationship between A and L. Alisse struggles with her desire to be a sex-slave for Lukanos, but also wanting something more with him. Knowing that she is nothing more than a slave on the planet.

I really enjoyed the dual POV in this story as I felt it was a necessity to get L’s thoughts on what was happening. So many times stories are prolonged because of a lack of communication that could’ve saved everything. Unfortunately for the two of them, they are in such a precarious situation, that it’s more difficult to communicate with each other. Alisse knows she’s no more than a slave, and Lukanos knows that she shouldn’t be anything more than a slave.

What I would’ve liked to have seen more of was some more detail around Lukanos’ home planet and its inner-workings. His friend is so upset by the injustice happening to the slaves, but I didn’t really feel like we were shown anything that was truly terrible to illicit such a reaction. I also would’ve liked to have known what happened to him after he shares the information he has with Lukanos. Is he reprimanded? Does his slave come back? I just would’ve liked more to tie up the secondary story-lines. This didn’t really detract from the romance, but I like having more than romance in my stories and the author got me interested enough in this alien world that I wanted to know more.

I would definitely recommend this story to those that enjoy the captor/captive story lines, as well as those that enjoy an HEA. Because there is one in this. This book also contains BDSM elements, anal play, lots of toys, orgasm denial/forced orgasm, sex-slavery, exhibitionism/voyeurism.

I would gladly read more by this author and appreciate the author providing a copy of this story to me in exchange for my honest review, via the Goodreads BDSM TPE Bar.

Well, that was hot.

The inner sci fi nerd in me loved how Trent Evans had to have been inspired by Star Trek's Prime Directive. I liked how he tied the 'Directive' into the plot here.

Highly recommended for people looking for a dark erotic sci fi read.

edit: I just want to add that I also totally caught onto the influences from Owned and Owner by Anneke Jacob while reading this...I looked at this author's GR shelves and was excited to see he rated it five stars. I'd love for Trent to dive fully into these kinks and go as full throttle as possible :))

I now officially love alien romances! I've read a few already, some great, some not so great but this was fun of the best kind.

I've always loved the 'alien kidnaps human from earth' tropes, it's one of my favourite romace plots and Trent Evans does it super well.

First of all, let's start with the bedroom scenery. It was fantastically kinky and I wasn't bored once. Often when I read romace I skip the samey, boring, sex scenes. Thankfully I didn't have to skip anything in this book, it was all spank bank material.

Both main characters were utterly likeable. The alien hero had the strong yet caring thing going, which I really like and the heroine was both sweet and smart. It was a winning combination!

If you enjoy alien capture romances and the M/s dynamic, this is one to try.

*I received a review copy of this book from the BDSM group on Goodreads.*

I read the shorter version before as part of Bound,Spanked and Loved, but this.....i'm glad Trent took the story by the hand and delved deeper,so much deeper....As a fan,i know the magic Trent creates and let me just say he delivers yet again. Even in space, owning a sweet human woman is a dream come true for this hotblooded alien. Exploring their dynamic, finding out how their bond deepens...like i said, pure magic!

My feelings about this book are mixed, but there is absolutely no doubt it kept my interest from beginning to end. I read the short version in the Valentine's Day anthology, Bound, Spanked and Loved: Fourteen Kinky Valentine's Day Stories, and did enjoy the additions made to expand it into a novel. However, I'm left feeling somewhat confused about several aspects of the story - perhaps there's meant to be a sequel, that would be nice.

There are times I want to read something a bit darker, that takes me out of my comfort zone into guilty discomfort - this book did that. It is not light, although it is a romance with a happy ever after ending - despite the fact I'm convinced Alisse is insane for being happy with Lukanos. Did I mention the, "out of my comfort zone" part of the story? Actually, one of the biggest issues I had with the story is believing that Alisse would agree to stay with Lukanos in the first place. That comes up several time through the story, but I was never convinced she would agree to spending a lifetime as a pet/slave on an unknown planet within hours of being abducted by a huge, and very scary, alien. Not to mention there wasn't even remotely the "full disclosure" the admiral said Alisse should have before making her choice - she didn't have a clue what was going on.

I enjoyed the additional world building in the full novel, the insight into Lukanos' society was interesting and I would like to read more about it in further stories - hint, hint. There were some awkward transitions between the original novella and the expanded version, as if the novella were split in half and all the additional material put in the middle. The end felt sudden in the lengthy book, without enough build up to make Lukanos' actions and feelings believable. I did appreciate the addition of an epilogue.

While well written, I didn't buy the characters' relationship development or Alisse's motivations. The whole "she never fit in because of her deviant desires" thing just didn't ring true. And her willingness to agree to slavery *as a means to gain more knowledge* just was laughable. Maybe there are people who would agree to be a sex slave (to an alien creature) but the case wasn't made for Alissa in a way that I thought made sense. She seemed more like a sad case with a degree of mental illness.

Lukanos' development flowed a little better and was more believable, but some of his behaviors didn't make much sense in light of the world building that came before. In the end, which was rushed, I wasn't sure what Alisse's status would either with Lukanos or his people.

The Yaanfahr Lieutenant's 💘Temptation

This is a 24/7 master /slave, dark, erotic, power exchange relationship. I wouldn't call most of it romance.

Tall, handsome, alien Lieutenant Lukanos🐺🍌🌋✋, is a member of the Yaanfahr Survey team watching certain humans on earth. Lukanos🐺🍌🌋✋💪 is watching a woman scientist, Alisse💃💋💔, and becoming obsessed with her. So obsessed, he manages to steal her but he's caught by his superior. After a slap on the hand by Admiral Kosha, he takes her to hide her away in his home on Yaanfahr.🌎
The Yaanfahr🐺🔫🔪 are a superior race, evolutionary wise. They have superior technology, superior strength💪 and size compared to humans. But, somewhere along The way, they lost their humanity, if they ever had any. They are a cruel, male dominated, patrician race. Males are the only sex that matters.
Females💋💃 are merely vessels to be used for the pleasure of males, be it for cruelty or sexual release, and the procreation of children.
Into this Alien and Foreign 🌎world, Alisse💃💋💔 is brought by Lukanos🐺🍌🌋✋, naked, afraid, dominated, cruelly treated, beaten and spanked👋👋 to bruising, utterly humiliated and unable to communicate or to know what is expected of her.
Stripped of Her clothing and humanity, Alisse💃💋💔 is treated like an animal🐕 and a prisoner. She is bound, gagged, sexually tormented, and hidden from Yaanfahr society, because owning her, possessing her, is highly 🚫illegal. Many high officials are looking the other way, though, and there is a growing underground society of owners of human women💃 slaves.
Most of the book is depressingly hopeless for the captive, Alisse💋💔. Somehow, the author has Alisse💋💔 begin to crave her captor, crave his cruelty, because once in a while, Lukanos🐺🍌🌋✋💪 does have a small shred of decency trying to break out of his otherwise completely cruel, self centered, arrogant personality. Is there enough to give Alisse💋💔 hope?

The book is well written, overall showing a depressing, broken, pompous, alien society that must change to survive. In that respect, the book📕 has a moral message to convey. Getting there is tough, sometimes even sickening. This was a hard read, but I know it's meant to be that way.

Remember! Aliens👽 are not bound by human laws or values. They have different goals and feelings, or none at all!. If you cannot accept this premise, you will be offended by this book📕

A matter of trust

Trent Evans is a master at erotic stories,as I read more I realize how great a writer truly is he. His books have taught me a great deal about alternative lifestyle. One of the most important lessons he has taught me is the D/s importance of trust. So when Trent Evans said "sci-fi" I kicked into "no way" I never do sci-fi except for Sloane Howell's Matriarch. But, I took a chance,I trusted. This story line was fascinating when it first came out in a mini me version. It had legs,so to speak. So when I opened this book I was simply blown away with this story. It is an extraordinary story in the exploration of relationships- the premise being the alien and the human. I like to think of this as a play on the D/s world to outsiders- it is quite frankly alien. While this book approaches eroticism at its deepest level the subjugation of slave to master again serves as a masterful depiction of this relationship. It was mesmerizing, it was captivating and it was Trent Evans at his best. I never re-read books back to back I did this book. Why? Because I wanted to savor each scene, each nuance and most of all the master and his slave. This book is without a doubt in my mind one of the best books - as all great books should do is to teach a reader something-in this case 6 fingered aliens are extraordinary and Trent Evans is amazing- he taught me trust.

I really liked this book I will admit the first chapter of the book had me confused but as I read I understood it better it's an adventure with twist and turn and some things you don't see coming

Alisse is scientist who is kidnapped by an alien and is given a choice to fulfill a secret desire or to go back to terra and have a mind wipe
Lukanos is a lieutenant in the Survey Corps he is always watching Alisse he is obsessed with her he finally decides he can't live without her disobeying order to not go near her or interact with any human because it is against the directive to interfere with a lesser species but he takes her and is give two option to keep her and be sent to the review board where he will lose his job and most of the money he's earned or to let her go back to terra go to the review board and be promoted but never be aloud on terra again he chooses to keep her but the obstacles they face may take them away from each other to find out what happens next I strongly recommend that you read this book 5 gold stars

Alisse's character was flaky and inconsistent. She was an astrophysicist/scientist but talked and talked and behaved stupidly and irrationally. She broke up with her boyfriend because he couldn't give her a BDSM relationship. She wanted and gave her consent to a "pet" relationship with Lukanos. Contrarily, she fought his control and resisted submitting to him.

There was no D/s relationship development. Most of the BDSM was off page. There was no romantic relationship either.

There was too much telling. Also, there was no world building.

TPE BAR
Received from the author in exchange for an honest review via the BDSM Group on Goodreads.

First of all, I would put a disclaimer saying: THIS IS NOT FOR WEAK READERS! The book comes with a disclaimer in the info, anyway, so perhaps that’s unnecessary, but just in case…

I actually feel partly that I should be rereading this before rating and reviewing, because of some of the amazing detail that goes through it. It was mostly focused around their relationship, yet did include parts of the alien world and how their relationship was and would be affected by their location and local customs and rules. I did skim reread somewhat, actually, as there are some things that happen in the beginning that tie in completely with the ending. Or rather, perhaps not. It all is to do with the Induction (and for those who’ve read the book, they’ll understand. Yet perhaps this confusion is to do with all the other smoke screening that happens between the superior officers, who are actually more complicit in such events than they would have their under officer believe. A good part of acting on their part, because of the supposed illegal action performed by Lukanos.

Anyway, it was interesting watching their relationship develop. Alisse, quite a fan of certain erotic fiction, never would have believed that the fiction would become reality for her. Many of the scenes, especially the sex scenes, were well written – it could appear as abuse at first glance, but Alisse consents to everything that happens to her, with the care between them obvious to the reader. As one fellow reviewer comments:
“It is an extraordinary story in the exploration of relationships- the premise being the alien and the human. I like to think of this as a play on the D/s world to outsiders- it is quite frankly alien.”
This is quite true for me, enjoying reading these books from the outside, especially when describing full time and perhaps more extreme D/s relationships like this one, but it makes it no less enjoyable or fascinating. And, as the same reviewer described, it is all, “A matter of trust”.

There were a few unresolved parts (like what happened with Tynan?), but overall it was a seriously good read. I was actually very emotional toward the end, a sign that the characters were easy to empathise with. The more I learnt about them, despite the very male-dominated world and how the characters discovered each other, the more I could empathise with them.

Final rating: ★★★★☆ – Really liked

I received an arc of this book for an honest review because Trent Evans is my favorite contemporary bdsm erotica author. He writes the hottest kinky fuckery, intimately described and panty soaking novels. Taking the Human was no exception. I thoroughly enjoyed my first exposure to sci-fi erotica.
It was believable and relate-able. You can read the synopsis elsewhere, so I will tell you the nitty-gritty. It is smokin' hot. Lots of panty melting sex, thoroughly detailed sex. Mouthwatering sex. Every kind. The heroine is smart, strong and self confident, not damaged or escaping. I love this portrayal. And her choice is consensual. He is a delicious, confident, mans man. An alpha that knows what he wants and goes for it. Their feelings are well described and in depth, making them believable and likable. Mr Evans can describe scenes like no other. You can visualize every orifice, every drop of moisture, each chill and goosebump, along with their emotions during each encounter. Taking the Human contains great sex, including oral and anal, bdsm, corporal punishment, objectification, and love, all gloriously detailed. Everything a girl could want. Read it, you won't be sorry.

I am not a fan when the female falls in love with the male when their only interaction has been sexual and in this case she was treated literally as a slave. What exactly are you falling in love with?

This story contains very strong BDSM scenes. The plot was simple. The characters were the most complex aspect and were very well depicted. Altough, the master/slave theme was a bit overdone. My rating is only an average three because the rough sex and pain involved were too severe for my tastes.

Aliens on a survey team are visiting Earth to watch human development. They are forbidden from letting humans know about the visiting aliens. Lukanos has been watching one woman, the scientist Alisse, and has been experiencing an increased level of possessiveness towards Alisse. When orders come for Lukanos to return to his home planet, he kidnaps Alisse against the laws of his planet, making her a sex slave (with her permission). Turns out the males from his planet are fascinated with Earth women and enjoy BDSM with the captured women, but it is illegal to own these women so they have to sneak around.

The book has a lot of dominance, submission and rough play that inches into sadism. I liked Alisse's scientific curiosity about this alien culture (and the reason she agreed to stay as a sex slave) and also Lukanos appreciation of her intelligence, providing her with books so she can learn more and discussing science with Alisse. Otherwise, I'm always leery of books that show women enjoying being humiliated and experiencing a lot of pain.

Not really my kind of book

I am giving the author 3 stars because the book was very confusing for me it had absolutely no story plot what so ever in my opinion. It starts out with the main character I can't even spell his name so I won't try but he's on earth surveying our kind for reasons I didn't get they said in the book that humans would either evolve or die out and most likely they seen it too many times they knew eventually we would end up dying so why bother surveying our world anyways it starts off with him outside Allise house stalking her how he met her who knows but when he took her back to his planet when they weren't having dirty very very dirty sex it seemed like the story was heading towards some sort of foul play with the military he served that they were doing something terrible with the humans they captured but she never followed through with that story line it just always led back to sex so I don't understand this book at all but if you're looking for some raunchy sex this did have good well written scenes I'll give her that LoL

What may have started as one aliens obsession with a female human slowly evolved into something deeper. Lukanos was intrigued by Alisse. His desires were deeper, darker, intense for her. He studied her, stalked her, captured her, and wooed her. This is definitely not your typical love story, but Lukanos was able to tap into Alisse's shameful desires and give her what she wanted. Needed. Craved.

I read and reviewed a copy of this book.
