First Kill (Heaven Sent Book 1) by Mary Abshire is the first book in the Heaven Sent series. This story is humorous, excitement and action packed. This is a story about demons and angels. This story will pull you into their world of heaven and earth, find out how this journey will end?

Andrew is a man who lives in heaven and seems to love the women a little bit to much. When the council has had enough of his sexual promiscuity, they send him back down to earth to kill demons. But there is a catch with this, if he has a sexual encounter he has a year is added on to his sentence on earth. Has he learned his lesson? Will he have to stay on earth longer then planned? He has no money, clothes or food, what will he do? What will happen when he meets her? Will he convince her of who he is and to help him?

Emily is a woman who has problems of her own. She leaves her family, friends and job to start a new life. What will happen when she comes across him? Naked in the middle of the road, what will she do when he asks her for help? He is built, sculpted to perfection, with a fine package south of the bellybutton. What will happen when he asks for help, will she help him? She seeks to find out the truth about him. Will she like what she discovers? Can she handle the truth?

Emily and Andrew's story is one where they struggle to keep their passions under control. They both have secrets but he is determined to change her future. What does he have to offer her? Is heaven an eternal resting place for her? Do they have a future? What will happen to them if she helps him? Does heaven, hell and demons really exist? Their story will pull you in and will have you wanting more. Will they make you believe?

This is my first story by Mary Abshire. Mary lives in Indiana and is a lifetime lover of paranormal, fantasy and science fiction stories. When she is not working she enjoys creating stories about vampires, demons, werewolves, angels and other supernatural characters. This story is a page turner until the end. It will leaving you wanting more and a need to find out what happens. I highly suggest this story as I know you will love this story as much as I have.

First Kill by Mary Abshire a heaven sent five-star read. This is the first book in the heaven-sent series, and it really does kick the series off with a bang. It’s the first Mary Abshire book I have read and I am sure I will be reading lots more by her. Mary writes great characters and really makes you care about them, she writes with care and passion that you don’t see often.
This book tells the story of Andrew an Angel who has been sent back from heaven for punishment after repeatedly finding comfort in the arms of different ladies. The council have had enough of his sexual promiscuity and have sent him to kill six demons, he will also be punished with an extra year on earth for every woman he sleeps with, something he would struggle with as he is in very good shape and in his prime as he died when he was a very fit 26-year-old, but when he is on earth he ages, he’s not vain but he does like to look good. He hasn’t ever wanted any woman for more than a night until he becomes friends with a stranger who picks him up of the side of the road when he is naked.
Emily is the woman who finds her, she is running from her old life leaving everything behind. On her way to get a new vehicle she picks up a random naked man off the side of the road, he is everything she should avoid, as she has a timescale to uphold and wants to get away without any complications. He leads her into several situations that make her question everything she believes, and he makes her believe that maybe after everything she has done she could get to heaven after all? But would she want to go if she was going alone?

First Kill: Heaven Sent Book 1 by Mary Abshire
5/5 stars

This is the first time reading from this author. And I gotta say, I enjoyed it from the moment I started until the very ending. It's full of drama and suspense, keeps you on the end of your seat. It's amazing!
Emily is a young and troubled woman. She leaves everything and everyone she loves behind. To start over… to start fresh. To try to forget the past and move on. The day she decides to leave, she comes across a naked man in the middle of a road. He is insanely gorgeous, his body…. well it's absolutely perfect, in every single way. But the last thing on her mind, is getting caught up in a guy, especially a naked one.
Andrew is what you call a ladies man. Perhaps a little too much. The council in Heaven, got tired of promiscuity ways...So as punishment , they send him back to Earth to kill demons. But it gets better, the Heaven Council even told him, as part of his punishment… for each sexual encounter on earth, he gets another year added to his sentence. But once he sees Emily, the attraction is there. Will he be able to hold out? Can he keep his hands .. and well, other body parts to himself ??
Emily and Andrew embark on an amazing journey. It's full of drama and chaos. Can they help one another on this epic journey? Will Emily tell Andrew why she left everyone behind? Can Andrew convince Emily to help him kill the demons? But will she believe him when he tells her his very unbelievable story?
You have to read this book to see what happens. I can't wait to see see what happens in the second book. I'm patiently waiting on pins and needles over here. I thoroughly enjoyed this book from start to finish! Amazing job!!

Well! Andrew has been a VERY naughty boy in heaven, but he can't help it, the Ladies love him! (who would guess you could be punished for having too much sex? Go Figure!) So his punishment is to come to earth to kill 6 demons - while he's here he can't have sex with any woman - or it will add another year to his sentence for each woman.

Emily is on the run - taking the backroads to avoid the authorities - when she nearly runs over Andrew, who is the middle of a deserted road and he's naked. What's a girl supposed to do? Help him or leave him there with no other help in sight on this cold night? And what's with the tattoo that suddenly appears on his arm?

Emily is a basically decent person, she's definitely made some wrong choices and the last one is a doozie - dumping her best girlfriend's body (there's a story there but I'll let you discover that) - maybe she IS heading in the wrong direction. I liked Emily she seems to be trying to do the right thing with the cards she's been dealt.

Andrew is fun, I loved all the 80's references. In spite of his attraction to Emily, he really is trying to do things right this time. He enlists Emily's help and they are in for a wild cross-country road trip!

I also found myself LOVING Troy - Emily's Best friend, who may not be all on the up and up but he is loyal to her and will do pretty much anything to keep her safe.

Enjoyed both the action and the attraction tension between the two main characters. The adventure had its share of wrong turns but eventually the road leads to the ending point in this story and it didn't disappoint. I look forward to where the quest takes our unlikely couple in the next book.

I voluntarily and honestly reviewed this Advanced Readers Copy.

First Kill by Mary Abshire Rated 4 stars

Andrew is an angel who resides in heaven. That's where angels live right? They do as long as they follow protocol. Andrew has a problem. He likes having sex with women... A lot. The problem is he keeps getting into trouble for being too sexually promiscuous. Andrew doesn't really see a problem because all the women come onto him and they seem to want it just as much as he does. The council has already reprimanded him more than a few times. His punishments each time had been to be away from his family for years. That was tough. This time when he is called to the council he figures “what else can they do to me?” Well he is shocked at the answer. He will be sent back to Earth to kill six demons during his time there he can Not have sex with any woman. If he does a one year sentence will be added for each woman.

Emily has recently run into a bad time. She is fleeing Chicago with a new look and identity. On her way to trade out her car she finds a naked man lying on the middle of the road. Unsure what to do she almost drives on. She changes her mind and stops to possibly help this guy. The guy tells her he is an angel sent down here to kill demons. Now she is wondering what mental facility he escaped from? She doesn't believe in angels, heaven or hell so he can't be telling the truth. He seems nice enough so she decides to just plays along with his story waiting for him to tell her the truth.

Andrew needs help from Emily with just about everything. He has no money, clothes or idea of where he is. Emily has a car and money and she is willing to help him. She even decides to help help him find the demon. Andrew is starting to like Emily and it's hard keeping his hands off her especially since he saw that “look” in her eye. He must resist…..no woman is worth getting another year added to his sentence, right?

At first I thought this book was moving way too slowly. But then I found myself thinking about it while working and hurrying to get back to the book to see what would happen next. So I ended up finishing this in about 2 days. Crazy right? Now looking for the next book to see what happens next

Hmm! Interesting start to a series!!

Ok. Quick run thru.

We have 2 main characters-

Emily - who is on the run after ditching her best friends body at the side of the road after she died from an OD after a night out. It was a total panic move but it's a case of -its done now, so gotta live with it.

Andrew - an angel sent back to Earth as a sentence to kill 6 demons as punishment for his (snort!) sexual promiscuity. This is his 3rd offence and they'd had to make it a serious punishment. As an additional torture, for every woman he has sex with, an extra year would be added on to his sentence.

There's also one more permanent but not as central character-

Troy - Emily's childhood friend. A drag queen with attitude. He gets Emily her new ID, car and comes to her aid when things go a bit awry for her and Andrew at one point. Not someone you want to mess with.

So basically this is the start of Andrew's journey of killing 6 demons and Emily's escape from her life and finds their paths crossing. And by crossing I mean he's lying butt najed in the middle of a road (not a bad sight by all accounts!).

Of course trying to convince someone you're an angel isn't the easiest thing to do. But when Andrew was sent back hes told that the name of the demon will appear on his arm like a tattoo. Once killed it will vanish, then the next will appear etc. The only thing that they can think of to prove hes an angel is to get this name erased. So Emily agrees to help him kill this demon while getting far away from her home in Chicago.

Of course things are never totally straightforward....things go wrong, attraction is fought, communications die....

But I enjoyed this!

No sex, a quick diy from Andrew but that's it! Strong language and violence.

What worries me is that each book will get repetitive....i hope it won't so for now I'm just gonna have to take them as it comes and hope they don't but is definetly give this a try if you're looking for something a little different!!!

First Kill is the first book in the Heaven Sent series, by the talented Mary Abshire. It is a wonderful paranormal, action/adventure.
Andrew is a resident of heaven, who has just appeared before the heavenly council, on trial for his blatant promiscuity and flagrant disregard of the rules, as well as ignoring his previous warnings and punishments. This is not the first time his love of women has gotten him into trouble, but this time the outcome was quite different from past hearings. This time he has been sentenced to return to earth- where he is required to vanquish demons.
If that’s not bad enough- he has the added difficulty of arriving naked- with no clothes, food or money. And….. if he succumbs to his libido, any sexual relations will then result in another year being added to his sentence; a year for every encounter.
Emily has had her world turned upside down- She’s in quite a predicament and has had no choice but to leave her home, family and job behind in Chicago and take to the road in search of a fresh start and a new life. While travelling along a back road in the countryside she comes across a man lying naked in the middle of the road. He doesn’t appear injured, but is very good looking and has a really sexy, chiselled body. He manages to get to his feet and asks her for help. He asked so politely, how could she refuse him?
Andrew tells Emily who he is and what he is required to do. She agrees to help him find the first demon, even though she doesn’t fully believe his story. They set off on the road together, which sets off a very interesting chain of events. Emily is determined to discover the truth about Andrew, but what she finds out is quite disturbing. “Angels, demons, heaven and hell all exist.”
Where will their journey take them? Can he gain her trust, little by little? What is it that finally makes Emily believe Andrew’s story? Will she still be willing to help him? She is truly beautiful and very sexy, can he resist her- or will he end up with an increased sentence? Will she give in to her wanton thoughts and desires? How will Andrew be able to repay Emily for her kindness, there must be something he can do for her?
This story captured my imagination from the beginning and I became completely immersed in this fascinating story. I have read angel vs demon stories before, but found the whole concept of this story, to have a truly unique and exciting take on the notion.
Ms. Abshire writes beautifully- her story was well developed, wonderfully planned and detailed, right from its conception through to the brilliant finished product.
The characters are fantastic, with their own traits and flaws- which made them all the more likeable and endearing. Her ideas and visualisation of heaven is a very interesting ‘take’ on that whole concept. I enjoyed reading about what her heaven is like and what happens there.
The story is told from a duel POV, it has a fairly fast pace and a smooth flow- it is easy to read, very engaging and exciting. I read it in one sitting.
I really recommend this book. It is well worth your time and money. But be prepared to be swept into a spellbinding story that you will have a hard time putting down.
I can’t wait to continue Andrew and Emily’s adventure in Book two.

Thank you Ms. Abshire!

First Kill by Mary Abshire. I give this book 5/5 stars. The theme of this book is angels, humans, and demons. This is the first book in The Heaven Sent Series.
Emily is running because of the fact that something happened. She finds a guy lying in the middle of the road naked. Her life is different now that she's helping him do things. The first quote I chose for her is when he tells her the truth: “I’ll be honest, everything you’ve told me sounds like a load of poo.” The second quote is her friend telling him something: “Exactly. Don’t f with her or I’ll kill you myself.”
Andrew is being punished for having too much sex. He is sent back to kill demons. His life changes when he meets Emily. The first quote I chose for him is when he first meets her: “It’s the truth. I promise, I’m not going to hurt you. But if you kick me out here, I have no money, no clothes, and no food. I have to get to Pennsylvania to kill this demon. I need help. Obviously.” The second quote is his response to her friends statement: “She has a good heart.”
This is the first book I've read by Abshire. I really liked the entire freaking plot of this amazing wonderful book. I felt so many emotions throughout the book. I was instantly in the book from the first word. I highly recommend this if you like reading about angels and demons. Check out this amazing author, series and any books she has.

First Kill in the first in what I hope will be a long series. Andrew is an angel who is sent back to Earth as punishment for sleeping with far too many ladies in Heaven. The conditions of the punishment are that he has to kill 6 demons, who are in human bodies, before he can return. Oh and if he sleeps with any women an extra year will be added to his stay.
The demon’s names are provided in the form of a tattoo that appears on Andrew’s forearm.
He is found on the side of the road, naked, by Emily who helps him. She is on the run herself having had trouble at home. Andrew tells her the truth about who he is and even though she doesn't believe him at all she helps him anyway. Their attraction simmers away but they don't act on it, Emily because she wants the truth and Andrew because of his sentence.
The story is well developed and takes it’s time to unfold. Personally I like this as it doesn't feel rushed. Although it ends with there obviously being much more to come, it's not a cliffhanger. I look forward to what's going to happen next.

First Kill is the first novel in the Heaven Sent series by Mary Abshire. This is my first novel by this author.

In Heaven, Andrew is a 26 year old angel who has been having sex with other angels. When the council has had enough, they send him to Earth to hunt six demons, and for every women he sleeps with, it extends the time by one year.

Emily has just dumped the body of her best friend after they overdosed. Not wanting to be blamed, she tries to leave Chicago in a hurry. She changes her appearance.

While getting another car she meets Andrew. She doesn't believe he is an angel but agrees to help him on his mission.

While they grow closer, Andrew finds that he is attracted to Emily.

I don't read a lot of books about angels but I really enjoyed this book. I loved that the author had alternate points of views between Emily and Andrew. It gave a better insight of their thoughts and feeling. I enjoyed the characters but some of the decisions that Emily made I didn't quite understand. I guess if you are in a dire situation, you only have a few seconds to make decision. So while some of them may not have been the best decision, it was the only decision.

Andrew is very sexual angel who has been in front the Council three times for his inappropriate behavior. Despite this, he was also a great character and I loved Emily and Andrew’s chemistry.

I would recommend this book to anyone who likes paranormal and fast reads. I can't wait for the next novels.

First Kill by Mary Abshire is the first book in the Heaven Sent series. Andrew, who has been in Heaven for several years is in trouble again. This is the third time he has been brought before the Council, and this time, the Council decides to give him a more severe punishment. Since his offence, for the third time, involves having sex with too many different women, his sentence needs to reflect that too. He is sent back to Earth with the mandate to kill six demons before he can return. The second condition of his sentence is that for every woman he has sex with, he will have to stay an extra year.

Emily is running from Chicago, fearful of being arrested and convicted for the death of her best friend, Libby. Libby died from a drug overdose in Emily's arms, and she freaked out, and dumped the body. Now she is on the run with help from her other best friend, Troy. She is driving down a back road in Indiana when she sees a naked man laying in the middle of the road. With no other cars or any houses in sight, she takes pity on him and picks him up. She can't believe that he is telling her the truth about being an angel sent to destroy demons, but because of her compassion, she agrees to help him. What follows is an often funny and more often dangerous trip to kill a demon in Pittsburgh.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. The characters were fun and well developed. Emily is a compassionate woman who is tough as nails, Andrew is a gentleman in many ways and is always trying to take care of Emily, and Troy, although a secondary character, is just plain unique. The storyline is well planned and well written with a lot of excitement and enough danger to hold the reader's interest. The humorous scenes are LOL funny. The development of trust between Emily and Andrew is so much fun to read. Although the whole plan of the story is to kill a demon, the book is not totally focused on that, but is instead focused on characters. In my opinion, that is what makes it a good book.

I highly recommend this book. Mary Abshire is one of the best paranormal authors out there today, and once again, she has delivered a terrific book. I'm looking forward to reading more in this new series!

I volunteered to read and review an ARC copy of this book. This review is an honest representation of my thoughts about the book.

Kirst Kill by Mary Abshire is the first book in the Heaven Sent series. This was my first book from Mary Abshire and it was beyond amazing!! I was hooked from the beginning. At first it seems like its an everyday person who is meeting with the council, but then you see the word “heaven”. I hadn’t read a book about angels and demons before so this was the first of that type. I really enjoyed it. This book drew me in within the first few pages.
In Firs Kill, we meet Andrew. He’s a ladies man, he loves their attention and they like his. He can’t help it, his looks are great and well he’s packing below the belt. But because of the ladies he has encountered Andrew is sent back to Earth. Just when he thinks going back to Earth is bad, the council gives him a mission. He must return to Earth to fight and kill demons. At first Andrew thinks that going back will be somewhat easy, what he doesn’t know is that there is a little surprise catch. He must refrain from having sex with any women, and if he does he must stay an extra year for each woman he sleeps with. NO WAY!! Andrew cannot believe it, the ladies are his cup of tea.

Andrew is then sent to Earth with nothing, no clothes, no money, just his birthday suit. He's in the middle of the road when all of a sudden a beautiful woman stops to help him.
This is where he meets Emily. She has recently left her home, family and job in order to start over in place. She's running from her past (more like the past 24 hours) and just wants a fresh start. A new life if you will.
When Emily stops to help him, she is freaked out. She can’t believe she just picked up and handsomely beautiful naked man. She questions him but at first doesn’t get much from him. After asking more questions he tells her he’s an angel. She thinks its bogus, it can’t be true. Despite his crazy story she still lets him travel with her.
As the days pass Andrew is struggling to keep to himself and Emily just wants to know the truth about him. She knows there's something different about him but she can't quite put her finger on it.
When it comes down to killing his demon, what will Emily do? Will she help him? Will she finally believe him? Can Andrew keep his hands to himself? Will she have sex with him?

I loved this book, I don't think I could say enough good things about it. I can't wait to see what happens next!

I give First Kill (book 1 in the Heaven Sent series) by Mary Abshire 5 stars.

Andrew is an angel. Literally. But apparently he isn’t a good angel. It’s his third time before the counsel for sleeping with too many women. Sure he has had many lovers, but they have always come to him willingly and he gave them just what they wanted. Apparently the council doesn’t agree that this is okay. They sentence him to go back to Earth to kill 6 demons. That he can handle. But there’s a stipulation: for every women he has sex with, they will add on another year to his time on Earth and more demons to kill. He was a man killed in his prime with a body women can’t wait to get their hands on. This will make things so much harder.

Emily is on the run. She could be in a world of trouble and she just needs to get out of town fast. She takes what little she has and takes off. Once she is out of town, she decides to take the back roads so it’s less likely. After a while on these back roads, she comes across something in the middle of the road. It’s a naked man. She should just keep going, but something makes her stop. He seems unharmed and man is he built. Against her better judgement, she gives him a ride. On the way, he tells her this ridiculous story about being an angel. He must be some kind of crazy, but he is polite and kind.

Along their journey, he gains her trust more and more. Then she decides to help him find and kill this demon. Not like she has much else to do. She likes him more and more as time goes by. But she can’t fall for a crazy person. Besides, he’s becoming too good of a friend and she doesn’t want to lose that. Everything else he has said and done towards her has been honest. There’s no way he can be an angel, can there? And can he keep his hands off this sexy, intelligent woman? The more he gets to know her, the harder it is becoming.

This was a great book. When I first started reading it, I thought it would be a bit predictable. But it really surprised me. The characters had me loving them. They are quite deep and the progression of Emily was wonderful. You think she’s one thing, but she’s so much more. The descriptions of people and places makes you feel like you are part of the book. I don’t know what the rest of the series will be like, but I can’t wait to get my hands on them and see where they take me.

I voluntarily agreed to read this book for my honest review and as usual Mary Abshire didn't disappoint. This book was something else entirely. Not what I was expecting, and that is what made me like it even more. Andrew is an angel set back to earth as punishment for his sexual rendezvous with the women. In Hus first night back he comes across Emily or more so she stumbles across him in his birthday suit. Not knowing each other she still agrees to help him with his task. A lot happens between their meeting to his first kill. And I can only imagine what will happen next! I can't wait to read more of this series! Amazing job Mary!! Amazing job!!!

This is the first time ever reading this author and I am already wanting more. This is the first book to the Heaven Sent series and I was hooked by the first chapter. I read this I book in one sitting. I could not stop reading it. I just had to see what happens in the end.

Andrew is a man that loves his women even in heaven. The council finally had enough of his sexuality in heaven and he is punished. He has to go down to earth and kill demons. If he has a sexual encounter with a women while doing his time there will be another consequence. Andrew thinks this is going to be a piece of cake until he meets the young and beautiful Emily.

Emily is young woman that has her own problems to deal with. Her best friend that she loved like a sister is now dead. She decides to leave her family and friends to start a new life. She is on her way to her freedom when she sees something in the middle of the road. She stops to sees what it is and it is a beautiful naked man. She is really nice and stops and helps him. Andrew and Emily enter a friendship very easily. Andrew feels like he can trust Emily so he tells her who and what he is but will she believe him? Emily listens to his story and she decides to help him out on his mission. She thinks he is crazy at first but things start to happen that even she can't explain. While they are on their adventure they start to get too close. Will Andrew break and take another punishment or will he finally start taking this seriously? Will Emily believe his story or will she need proof? When Emily sees the proof will she run or stick by this beautiful man’s side?

This book exceeded all of my expectations and more. There is demons and angels in this story but it is not a religious book. I love Emily on how she is so troubled but she also has a funny side to her. Andrew is a true angel and you will love him from the start. I don't usually read Demon and Angel books but I am so glad I read this one. This book is an exciting, nail biting thriller with a little humor. I am now waiting to see how their adventure will end. I'm counting down the days for the next book in the epic series.

First Kill (Book one of the Heaven Sent series) is the first book that I have read by Mary Abshire and I can’t wait to read more of this series.
Andrew is an angel who has to face the council for once again for having sex with women in heaven. The council believes that this is not proper behavior but Andrew thinks that they are old and can’t relate to his 26-year-old self, after all they were all consenting adults. However, no one cares what he thinks and they sentence him to be sent to back to earth to hunt and kill 6 demons and if he has sex with any women, they will extend his sentence by one year for each woman and during that time he must hunt and kill more demons. So they send him right then and there to earth to start his mission after a very short crash course on what to expect, btw they send him naked…
Emily is a girl that just literally dumped her best friends body on the side of the road after her friend OD’d. She knows that people will blame her and she had nothing to do with it. This does not make the guilt go away but it’s the truth. She decides to leave, she changes her appearance and takes everything she needs and hits the road. While traveling down some back roads she comes across a gorgeous but very naked man. When he asks for help she can’t say no and he becomes her travel companion. Andrew gives her this wild story about being an angel that has come to kill demons, she thinks that he is crazy but he has not done anything to make her think that he will hurt her, so she agrees to help.
There adventure brings them closer together and when she helps him lure the demon to an out of the way spot, she is forced to face the truth of what he has told her. Now that she witnessed Andrew killing the demon, she must choose whether to continue to help him or leave him on his own.
This book has all aspects that make it a great book and I am eager to see how this all plays out. If you are looking for a great series that has a slight paranormal twist than this is a great place to start.

First Kill (Heaven Sent Book 1)
By: Mary Abshire
5 out of 5 stars

The story First Kill (Heaven Sent Book 1) by Mary Abshire is a suspenseful book with both demons and angels. Andrew has been sentenced to return to Earth to destroy demons because of his sexual promiscuity. Even worse is if he has sex with a woman while on Earth he has to stay an extra year. He has no clothes, money or food. His task seems impossible. Emily has left her family, job and home to start a new life. She is driving down a country road when she finds a naked man lying in the middle of it. He asks for her help, she can’t resist. Over the next few days, Andrew struggles to keep his hands to himself and Emily is determined to find out the truth about Andrew. Once the truth is revealed, will it end any chance that Andrew has with her?

This is an awesome story! I love stories with angels and demons and this one not only has an amazing plot but amazing characters as well. The main plot of the story is of Emily running from her past and Andrew asking for help to kill a demon. The situations that they run into are dangerous and Andrew doesn’t like the fact that Emily is in danger. Emily’s character is strong and independent. She is sometimes reckless in her actions, but she has experience in protecting herself. Andrew is such a charmer. Everything has changed so much since he has come back to Earth and needs to adapt. The story does a good job detailing the background of both Andrew and Emily. This story is suspenseful and thoughtful at the same time.

I highly recommend this book as a wonderful read that will keep your interest from the first chapter to the ending page. I hate when a book I love ends, however since this is book one I can’t wait to see what happens next.

First Kill by Mary Abshire begins with Andrew being in a council meeting of elders in Heaven. The council is cross with Andrew for having sexual relationships with multiple women. It is his third time in front of the council. This time the council sent him back to Earth to kill six demons as his punishment. If he has sexual relationships with any woman, he must spend another year on Earth. Emily had to leave Chicago in a hurry. On her way to get another car, she comes upon Andrew, who is naked as a jay bird. She agrees to help him with his assignment. Andrew is grateful for the help, but he finds that he is intensely attracted to Emily. Over the course of the book, Emily realizes that Andrew is telling the truth about being an angel. She must choose where she wants to end up in this life and the next.
I enjoyed reading this book. Emily is a sweet, caring, and giving person, but she has made some terrible decisions in her life. She is starting to feel the repercussions of those decisions. Andrew is a charmer and trustworthy character, who has sex on his mind a lot. I really liked that Mary Abshire wrote from both Emily’s and Andrew’s perspective. It gives the readers insight on each character’s thought process and motivations. This really helped me to become invested in both characters. The book was well written and flowed nicely. I never bored or unengaged. I am extremely interested on how Ms. Abshire going to evolve and grow these characters in the following books.

First Kill
Mary Abshire

Andrew is an angel in heaven who has already been punished twice for having sex with way too many women, and is now in front of the council for the third time. You would figure that 5 years as a courier and 20 years as a janitor in a military institution would have made him change his ways but obviously not. So for his third punishment he will be sent to back to earth to kill 6 demons and if he sleeps with a woman another year on earth is tacked onto his sentence. He gets taken to a room by a guard stripped naked injected with holy water and a way for Heaven to keep track of him and off to earth he goes.

Emily grew up in Chicago the oldest daughter and had fairly wealthy parents though she was basically cut off when she decided she was doing things her own way. Growing up she had two best friends that were basically siblings Troy and Libby. Troy dressed in drag, and Libby abused drugs. Libby’s drug use is why Emily is now on the run with a new identification and is headed to Indianapolis to switch cars and then head to Texas to get away from it all. Except on the way she comes across a man laying on the road stark naked with nothing around for miles.

This book was really good, I am also glad the author did some research on Ohio and what is located where on the highways. The story hooks you in the first chapter and you can't put it down

This was my first book from Mary Abshire and it was amazing!! This book drew me in within the first few pages. First Kill is about angels and demons, and it focuses on Andrew who is a ladies man, he loves them and they love him. But Heaven isn't too happy with what they're seeing, so they intervene. They sentence Andrew to return to Earth to fight and destroy demons, there's also a catch, if he has sex while on Earth, he must stay another year on Earth.

Andrew is sent to Earth with nothing, no clothes, no money, nada. He's in the middle of the road when a beautiful woman stops to help him. Enter Emily, she has recently left her home, family and job in order to start over. She's running from her past and just wants a fresh start. So when she sees him, naked in the middle of the road, she can't help but question it. But she also can't resist helping him. As the days pass Andrew is struggling to keep to himself and Emily just wants to know the truth about him, she knows there's something different about him but she can't figure out what it is. So when Andrew realizes he needs to ask for help to kill a demon, what will Emily do? Will she believe him? Will she help him? Can Andrew keep his hands to himself?

I loved this book, I don't think I could say enough good things about It. There was suspense, chemistry between the characters, plot twists and so much more! I can't wait to see what happens next!

Wow! First Kill by Mary Abshire is truly an original and fun story to read. This was such a joy to read and an amazing adventure that I got sucked into. When I read the blurb, I was completely intrigued and when I started reading, I simply couldn’t stop. There is so much more to this than a man on a redemption/ punishment spree. There is a woman hurting and trying to run from her past. There is true heartbreak here and is something to behold.
Imagine having to face a punishment for having too much sex. That is the situation that we find Andrew, an Angel sent from heaven to face his punishment. He must kill six demons before he can return to Heaven but he has nothing to help him along the way. That is until he meets Emily, a woman on the run from her own life. Together they make a great partnership but will they be able to survive each other?
This was a five-star read for me because I could not put it down. It was just so different and easy to get sucked into. The characters are so richly written that I feel as if I know these people. This may seem like a simple read but for me at least it was a beautiful look into our souls. I felt it showed that there are no simple reasons for the choices we make. There is always something coloring our choices. If you are looking for a few hours escape, I recommend you pick this book up. I for one am looking forward to the next installment in this very entertaining series.

The books starts off with Andrew having to explain himself to council regarding all the women he has serviced while he has been in heaven. Over the decades Andrew has been sentenced to various punishments but in the end they have served to increase Andrew’s lady count even more.

But the council decide enough is enough and sentence Andrew to the ultimate punishment and send him down to earth to kill demons but if is found to have had relations with any women for each women he sleeps with a year is added to his sentence but he also has to slay more demons.

Emily has had a rough ride and is on the run after her friend OD’s and Emily has to get rid of the body, she understands that people will think it’s her fault. While she is on the run, driving down a dark road she comes upon a beautiful hunk whose is naked, Andrew tries to convince Emily to help him and she agrees. Andrew then explains who he is and what he is doing on Earth, but of course Emily thinks he’s mad but when Andrew needs her help to lure a demon to a remote location to kill him. Emily sees Andrew kill the demon and can’t believe everything he has told her is true, Emily has a decision to make to carry on helping him or leave to do this demon slaying on his own.

This is the first book in the series and I really enjoyed the paranormal aspect of it, I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.

This is the first book I read by this author. It is also the first book in the Heaven series and it was a awesome introduction to her. This book starts in a council meeting but it not your normal council. This is a story that has you between heaven and earth. Andrew is the main man character and he has a little problem with liking the lady a bit to much. He has been in this council for his behavior with women three time now. He has even been ban him from his family for twenty years and that he seem to bother him because he would see them again and he could always find women. So this time they are sending him back to eartwhi h to kill demons.
The main female character is Emily. She is leaving her family and friends behind to start over with a new life. She comes across a naked man in the road will she help me? Andrew tells her who he is and she does believe him. Will she try and find out whom he is Emily and Andrew relationship is hard and full of struggles. Andrew needs help with everything right down to clothes. She helps him but is still wondering where he may have escaped from..
Will he do what he was sent to do? Will he be trouble again? If you want to know and you do go buy the book... It is a great story...

First Kill by Mary Abshire

First Kill is the first book I have ever read from Mary Abshire and I have to say that I love her writing style. In this book we meet an angel named Andrew who is being punished for misconduct and is sent to Earth to do the councils bidding. During his time on Earth he meets Emily who takes him in and helps him when nobody else will. They become friends even though it seems like Andrew would love to be more than that with her. The title of the book has to do with what Andrew is having to do for the council to atone for the ‘sins’ that he committed before being send to earth. Watching as these two go through this book trying to work together to figure out how to go about doing what needs to be done is amazing. I loved reading this book, it kept me enthralled the entire time I was reading. I honestly wasn’t sure if Andrew was going to be able to follow all of the rules that were set, but will say that I wasn’t left wanting where the plot is concerned in this book. I will say that this is book one in a series and I know that no matter what I will definitely continue to read this series just to keep up with these characters. I hope that if you take the time to read this book that you love it as much as I did.

I loved Emily and Andrew! Emily was unlike anything I could have expected from her. Like Andrew getting to know her through his eyes and from her perspective was a constant surprise. She was strong, beautiful, and brilliant. Her strength and ability to move past her struggles and get a job done is admirable. I thought that in spite of her circumstance she handled it well. Andrew was something else, a hero that needed help and was lacking the necessary skills to complete his assignment, but he was polite and took his disadvantages in stride. I think the author created the perfect balance between these two characters and their interaction with each other and the other characters just blended. I felt like I was watching a tv show and I feel like I need the next episode sooner than later! The plot was given up front but the twists and turns on the journey to complete the goal keep you on your toes. There are vibes and feelings that you get but to pinpoint exactly what will happen you can’t. I was happy with the ending and it felt like the story got told to a specific point, leading perfectly into the next part.

The death of one of her best friends is enough for Emily to decide to walk away. She has had enough of her life and the torture her parents have put her through. Being second fiddle to a younger sister and watching someone she loved slowly kill herself has finally taken it’s toll. Leaving Troy her best friend in the world, will be the hardest thing to do but she knows he will be there for her whenever or wherever no matter what.

Whilst heading out of town she stumbles across a naked man in the middle of the road. Emily decides to help him, Andrew, out but can she trust him? The story he tells of an Angel sent back to earth for having too many relations with women and having to kill Demons as penance, is so far fetched he is either a lunatic or a very good liar.

I actually loved this book and the characters. They were really well written and the story drew you along for the ride. I love a story that has the character tell their side of the story. I went through a roller coaster of emotions which proves to me that Mary is a very talented writer. I can’t wait to read the rest of the series.
