Heather Gray

Heather loves coffee, God, her family, and laughter – not necessarily in that order! She writes approachable characters who, through the highs and lows of life, find a way to love God, embrace each day, and laugh out loud right along with her. And, yeah, her books almost always have someone who's a coffee addict. Some things just can't be helped.

Despite being born into different eras, Heather's characters share a common trait. Like her, they're all flawed...but loved anyway.

You can find Heather online at http://www.facebook.com/heathergraywr... and http://www.twitter.com/laughdreamwrite. She can also be found most days at The Inspired Inkpot, a street team, prayer group, and all around awesome place to hang out - http://www.facebook.com/groups/theins....

An Informal Date by Heather Gray
Heather Gray has written a rich and sweet contemporary romance novella in An Informal Date. This story has two delightful lead characters, as well as fun supporting characters that bring to life this story. The main backdrop is a hospital where Kimi works at a coffee kiosk and Owen is a research scientist. This story brings to life how these two unlikely people’s lives cross paths and how they fall in love.

Operation Back-to School by Elizabeth Maddrey
Elizabeth Maddrey has created a fun story of a widowed mother, Shannon Cross that ends up dating one of her little girl’s teacher. It is about family and friendship and how sometimes romance comes when we least expect it. A fun sweet story that readers will thoroughly enjoy.

A (Sorta) Southern Serenade by Krista Phillips
Krista Phillips has written a cute and delightful romance about an unlikely couple. First impressions are not always everything. When Kendra and Josh meet, their first impressions of each other are not what they should be. But circumstances bring them together again and they decide to give each other a second chance and somewhere along the way they fall in love. A delightfully sweet and enjoyable novella that readers will thoroughly enjoy!

Learning from Experience by Ginger Solomon
Lexi Ross was wrongly accused of a crime when she was younger. She escaped that past. Or at least she thought she had. Now she must choose to embrace the pains of the past and overcome them and find love, or be consumed by pain and misery. A cute story about overcoming a hurtful past and finding hope, joy, and love in the future.

The Other Brother by Carole Towriss
A sweet story about an older brother, Marc that has always been in his younger brother, Mike’s, shadow. But Mike never flaunted the attention and so they were the best of friends. Mike and Marc own a company together, but when Mike suddenly dies in a car crash, Marc is not so sure the store will go on without Mike. Marc now also is taking care of his sister-in-law and her preemie baby with the help of Nurse Kendall. Family, love, romance, this story is filled with heartwarming moments that readers will love. This is a story that will stay with readers long after they turn the last page.

A Hero for Heather by Marion Ueckermann
Paxton has made some mistakes, one of which is running away and spending his inheritance. He is beaten and left on the streets where Heather finds him. Heather’s kindness warms a place in Paxton’s heart. Can this be more than friendship, but maybe love. A sweet story of love and redemption. Readers will enjoy this touching story.

AN INFORMAL DATE by Heather Gray
Kimi sells coffee at a hospital kiosk and has a smile for everyone who comes her way. Owen is a research scientist with limited people skills and a fondness for caffeine. How can two such different people go from a shared interest in beverages to a shared future?
My take on this novella:
I enjoyed how these two such different people learned how to make magic together with God's help.
OPERATION BACK-TO-SCHOOL by Elizabeth Maddrey
With both her girls in school Shannon Cross is looking forward to being back in the office. But how can Shannon fall for her daughter’s teacher without feeling that she’s betraying her deceased husband’s memory?
My take on this novella:
A cute story about a single mom and a Kindergarten teacher.
A (SORTA) SOUTHERN SERENADE by Krista Phillips
They sing two very different tunes. Can they work together to make a joyful melody?
My take on this novella:
A cute story about two people from two different backgrounds blend together to make music with God's help.
LEARNING FROM EXPERIENCE by Ginger Solomon
An old man and his will change everything for Lexi Ross. Can she survive the memories and learn from someone else’s experience or will she choose to make her own path?
My take on this novella:
A very emotional novella about how a woman finally finds a love of her own with God's help.
THE OTHER BROTHER by Carole Towriss
Marc has contentedly spent his life in his brother’s shadow—until he meets Kendall. Can she convince him he’s special, when no one else thinks so? And can he convince her she’s already found what she’s searching for?
My take on this novella:
A heart warming novella about a man who learns to feel special with the help of God and a NICU nurse.
A HERO FOR HEATHER by Marion Ueckermann
Paxton Rathbone is desperate to make his way home. He has grown too accustomed to the disdain of mankind, which perhaps is why Heather Blume’s kindness penetrates his reserves. But there’s more to Heather’s actions than merely being the Good Samaritan—she has no doubt he’s a gentleman fallen far from grace.
Marion Ueckermann gives us a sweet romance mixed with God's love , grace and redemption,a take on the Prodigal Son.

This is a collection of heart warming romances for a quick read for busy Moms as they start the back to school routine of school, home and extra curricular activities.

Falling for you

A very good box set. I given a advance copy to read and review. Every story is great.

An informal date by Heather Gray

The characters are so real. Love the story of Owen and Kimi, so different but make a good couple. Everyone will definitely love this story.

Operation back to school by Elizabeth Maddrey

She is widow with two young daughters, he is a kindergarten teacher and one of her daughters in his class. There is attraction but can they make it work? I love stories with kids in it, I really loved their characters. Fraiser and Shannon story is a very special one.

A (sorta) Southern Serenade by Krista Phillips

Kendra and josh start out with a big misunderstanding when he is there to work on her lawn. She visits his church but does not know he goes there. Will they be able to work things out? Read and see.

Learning from experience by Ginger Solomon

Loved Nathan and Alexandra story, the story starts five years in the past. A misunderstanding with Nathan father. He then asks for forgiveness from Alexandra right before he passes. After he dies, then comes the "will" and things gets interesting.
This is my first book by Ginger and I loved it.

The Other Brother by Carole Towriss

Marc and Kendall meet when his brother and sister in law is in a car accident. His sister in law is pregnant and Kendall works in the baby ward at the hospital, the ones that are premie. I really loved this story by Carole, the first book I have read by her, I have found another good author.

A hero for Heather by Marion Uechermann

She works for a homeless daycare, he is homeless but actually has a family that is missing him. Love the characters, a very inspiring story.

This is an incredibly sweet boxed set of Christian inspirational romance stories. Part of the title says that they are heart-warming and they surely are! Although I only knew 2 of the authors, I will definitely read more of ALL these authors' books. An Informal Date by Heather Gray is about the unlikely romance between 2 opposites - a rule-follower & a rule-breaker. I loved her quote: "God's got my back even when I forget how much He cares." The 2nd sweet novel, Operation Back-To-School by Elizabeth Maddrey, is another heart-warming story about a widow struggling with feeling free to love again. The 3rd story, A (Sorta) Southern Serenade by Krista Phillips, has a rich Yankee heiress and a Southern hard-working landscaper, who discover that there is more to them than "how they earn a paycheck" as they learn to look past first impressions. The 4th story, Learning From Experience by Ginger Solomon, so accurately portrays how God wants us not "to come to Him out of pity or some misguided obligation," but wants our heart. And I loved her quote: "He filled the empty places I knew I had but couldn't name." In the 5th story, The Other Brother by Carole Towriss, Marc Hudson doesn't realize that he really is special too, because of being shadowed by his brother's sports fame. As a result of his brother dying in a car accident, he meets & falls in love with the RN Kendall Thornton who is taking care of his widowed sister-in-law and preemie nephew in the hospital. The 6th, A Hero For Heather by Marion Ueckermann, is a sweet rendition of The Prodigal Son, and how appearances aren't always what they seem to be. This is a GREAT collection by wonderful authors! I received an ARC copy for my honest review.

Six Delightful Romances!

I have gotten into the habit of getting box sets, either free or for$.99. I have found some fantastic stories and authors this way. This book is one of the best. I didn't give it five stars because there are several misuses of punctuation and the use of wrong tenses. Also, one mistake I cannot accept is the use of the wrong word when using one with alternate spellings, i.e. there, their, and they're. This is but one example. Otherwise, the stories in this set are great. All six authors are to be commended for their contributions. I couldn't put my Kindle down for long without hurrying back to finish the story I was currently reading. I finished this box set in less than twelve hours including a little sleep time included in that time. If you want good clean Christian based reading, this box set is for you.

Six talented romance writers collaborated on a fall themed boxed set. Characters from various walks of life interacted and discovered the love of God, the love of others, and romance. Each novella has a descriptive setting, developing characters, and twist and turn plot.

As a retired school teacher, I identified with Operation Back-to-School by Elizabeth Maddrey. As a coffee drinker, I enjoyed reading An Informal Date by Heather Gray. A (Sorta) Southern Serenade by Krista Phillips inspired my musical side. The love of flowers and the story of the Good Samaritan were the highlight of A Hero For Heather by Marion Ueckermann. Learning From Experience by Ginger Solomon visualized the artistic side. The Other Brother by Carole Towriss brought me to tears.

Thanks to the authors for romances that warm the heart.

I was interested in this collection of stories because it contained works by some of my favorite authors such as Heather Gray, Elizabeth Maddrey, and Marion Ueckermann. I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed reading works by the other authors who were new to me. These stories were each very different but oh so enjoyable, like little bites of chocolate to be savored and lingered over. A (Sorta) Southern Serenade and The Other Brother were two of my favorites. I love the sweet tender moments, the joy of falling in love, and the great lines such as: “The lamest bright side in the history of silver linings.” Overall an enjoyable set of inspiring, clean stories to brighten your day.

This box was an absolute joy to read! All of the books are autumn themed, from an offbeat kindergarten teacher falling for the mother of one of his new students, to a "yard worker" who turns out to be more than he first appears. Each one of the novellas in this set were charming, engaging, and delightful, and you can bet I will be looking for more of these authors offerings!

Each of these unique stories bring the reader to feel a variety of emotions. The authors show love, compassion, trust, faith and forgiveness in each story.

An Informal Date by Heather Gray- Two distinctly different personalities and life goals make for interesting conversations between Kimi and Owen. I found myself feeling like I was sitting at a table close by the coffee kiosk listening to them chat. Will they find friendship or more? Can trust be found? Read this story and find out what happens. I enjoyed this story very much.

Operation Back-To-School by Elizabeth Maddrey- When both daughters are in school, will Shannon be able to focus on her career? I felt the love this mother has for her daughters, especially raising them alone. Will the new teacher be able to help Shannon move on? Memories can stand in the way of her happiness. This story touched my heart.

A(Sorta) Southern Serenade by Krista Phillips- Music is a main theme in this story and music helps the characters deal with situations in their lives. Trust and forgiveness are found while learning to have faith again.

Learning from Experience by Ginger Solomon- What happens when a person's will involves you and your life? Read and find out what Lexi experiences when a will is brought to her attention. Will a misunderstanding cause more problems? Read and find out if trust and love are found.

The Other Brother by Carole Towriss- Grab your tissue box for this one. Life changes in an instant when an accident causes traumatic events. I couldn't stop reading the story. Learning to go on after a tragedy is a lesson for the characters in this story.

A Hero for Heather by Marion Ueckermann- Forgiveness, finding his way in life, and finding trust is part of this story. Can Paxton trust anyone, even Heather? Does she have a motive with her actions? Trust and forgive. Read and find out what happens with these two people.

I would read all of these stories again. Each author is unique and tells stories in a different way. I enjoyed these stories very much.

God story.

It held my interest with interesting characters and a different kind of idea on how two people meet. I kept reading because I really wanted to know how it ended. Not an everyday type of storyline.

AN INFORMAL DATE - This was a very enjoyable story. I loved the way that Kimi was able to look past Owen's brusqueness and into his heart. A very sweet story.

OPERATION BACK-TO-SCHOOL - Another great story. There were a few inconsistencies, but nothing that detracted from the story. I just tend to notice these things. It was fun having the references to characters in others of Elizabeth's books, but I appreciated that they were secondary enough that it wasn't important that I remembered all the details about them.

A (SORTA) SOUTHERN SERENADE - There were parts of this story that I really enjoyed, but there were also parts that annoyed me a lot. I felt that both the main characters overreacted quite a bit, and that was frustrating, especially when he found out the name of her parent's company.

LEARNING FROM EXPERIENCE - I did not enjoy this story. As another reviewer pointed out, this story didn't really flow well and didn't seem to make sense why things happened as they did.

THE OTHER BROTHER - This was a sweet story. I enjoyed the characters and am so glad that things didn't end up working out the way I expected.

A HERO FOR HEATHER - As another reviewer pointed out, the retelling of the prodigal son was a bit too contrived in this story. It was good, but not great. Glad I read it, but probably won't be on my list of books to re-read.
