“You’ve been the first that I’ve kissed since her.” “So I’m the rebound...” she trailed off.
I’m Jackson, Jack, or Jax. I don’t really care what you call me as long as you scream it out in bed. Going back home to my parents at twenty-six is not my proudest decision, but after my shack-up girlfriend of two years went and f*cked someone else, I am left with no choice. She won’t f*ck me but easily f*cked him. The cheating whore could go to hell for all I care, but she broke my heart for sure.
Six weeks into moping around in my room, my bitter, intoxicated arse had to get out and get moving. Getting over things isn’t easy, but it had to be done.
Then I meet her, Sienna, a redhead with the brightest green eyes you’ll ever see—those same eyes I imagined looking up at me as I jerked off in the shower months ago. She’s perfect, almost too perfect, and she got me intrigued.
I have to man up and get my own place, so I got a bachelor’s pad… in Sienna’s building. Not that I’m expecting anything. But one thing leads to another, and I find myself wanting her—falling for her. There’s something more to her shy, nervous smile and the way she fumbles over her words whenever I push too hard… there’s something more to that girl across the hall.
But am I even ready to be in another relationship? To try again? Will I ever get to quell her doubts about us? And when my past comes knocking on her door, will she let me in or send me walking out her life?

I'm wife to a FIFO miner. Mother of three. Passionate foodie, and a vivid dreamer. Living in a small beach town in the lovely Tasmania. I spend my time between home and down at the beach… making memories, and capturing the moments.
When I'm not glued to my laptop, I'm either in the kitchen creating recipes, cooking, or having a Netflix binge session. Often, I find myself drifting off into the world of make believe, getting lost inside the stories I write.. I write because it's my passion. I want to create a world for my readers to get lost in.. For them to swoon, and fall in love the way I do with each character made.. Oh, and I love starbursts!
My first five-star rating for 2018. I'm in love with this book! My favorite so far. But I won’t go into the story's full summary since the blurb is pretty spot on. No, let me tell you why you should read this book instead.
First and foremost, because of Jackson. This guy is ugh! He's utterly amazing in every single way and then some. And just thinking about him right now makes me happy and giggly. I wish that he’s real. And then there's Sienna. She was spunky, funny, and sweet. An all-around great character, someone you could see yourself being friends with. She is one of those heroines that is so endearingly quirky that you can’t help but love her.
Third, it is because of the relationship between them. There's absolutely no doubt that the chemistry between Jax and Sienna was freaking off the charts. There were so many incredible moments and swoon-worthy scenes that I was utterly lost in the story. And the sex scenes were blush-worthy. My heart danced pretty much every time they were together or made relationship progress. And I love, love, loved the fact that it’s in dual POV, which I’m always a fan of, and it was well done here.
Overall, His Rebound Love was such a great read! It offers the perfect combination of sweet and steamy, with a fantastic story to boot.
I don't know how to react to this book, it doesn't look like a novel at all, but more like a Man's Diary. The POV of the heroine was very small and there was no need to add it at all. Because it's basically a hero's story! About his relationship with an ex-girlfriend who cheated on him, and we readers go through all his experiences and parting with her, then meeting Sienna (the heroine), the formation of their relationship, and so on until their joint 4 children)))) His story is so easy to read that I just did not notice how I read it to the end. Initially, I generally thought about whether to read this book or not, but I got involved from the first chapter, I was always wondering what was next.
This book is incredibly poorly written. It was practically unreadable. I would advise to borrow NOT buy if you really want to read this book. It has large selections that need serious editing but mostly the book just wandered for much of it pointlessly and had drama thrown in for dramas sake but are never resolved. Let me spoil this for you...
The MMC is in a commited relationship with a woman when the book opens but all his thoughts reflected how unhappy or unfullfilled he was with her. This woman gives all the signals that she doesn't want him and IMO is verbally and emotionally abusive to him. She proceeds to go out to party with her friends and later returns to drop the bomb that she had s e x with some random club guy like it was no big deal. I give it to the MMC that he basically ups and leaves her with very little looking back. The next bit of the story is the MMC whining quite a bit about how embarrased he is, how could this happen to him, and how his self esteem was effected by being cheated on. Also, quite a bit about how he loved the now ex and how he wasn't interested in women after her. Let me say that a little self pity is fine but I was rolling my eyes at the amount the MMC was doing over an admittedly bad relationship.
So the author throws in a fantasy that the MMC has about a not real woman that the MMC is fixated on for a while and then out of the blue the MMC actually meets said mystery fantasy woman! Convenient much? The MMC is understandably transfixed and finagles more encounters with this woman, the FMC. Little by little they end up dating and are a couple pretty fast. Hence the Rebound title. The MMC has very little growth other than to say that he loves the FMC and is over the ex-OW. BUT(!), the ex after months apart starts calling him everyday, stating that she needs to speak with him, that it is urgent.
Now we the readers have the setup for the drama that I was expecting but instead months go by and the MMC doesn't invite the ex-OW back into his life, however he doesn't actually do much to keep her out either. He doesn't block her number, he doesn't delete their pictures off his phone, he doesn't at least have one last conversation with her to tell her again to f#ck off. No, he leaves it hanging in the air, so now the FMC feels insecure of their relationship. Typical guy I'm sure.
We have a bit of relationship mile stones and we have the MMC's sister acting all kinds of stupid and yet no comeuppance for her or the ex-OW. There are also some scenes that should not have happened! Like the main couple having s e x supposedly while the FMC had a tampon in. Let me be clear, the FMC or the MMC do NOT take it out! This is not a thing right?? Because it really shouldn't be a thing, is all I'm saying. S e x during the monthly visitor is fine if that is your thing but not removing the tampon is dangerous. It can be shoved up into the cervix or simply be extremely abravise on both parties almost like a brillo pad chaffing away on them. SMDH. I did like that the FMC didn't have an "O" every time they banged. That was probably the only realistic thing about this story.
Anywho, the MMC's sister pushes the ex-OW back into the MMC's life for no other reason than that she is jealous from what the author kept writing but from what I grasped from the story she was trying to live out her own unrequited ex-OM errors with her brother's/MMC's life. So the ex-OW shows up and tells the MMC that she never cheated, that she only said that because she was scared at how fast their relationship was moving and that she knew the MMC wanted marriage and kids and she wasn't ready but that she was ready now. What?!?...
This chick is stup!d. That is the most absurd thing to do that I've ever heard of. And supposedly her friends that she was out with that night encouraged her to do this. LOL, okay, sure. The MMC is telling her he is not interested but he also behaves like he did when he was with her, like he is being bullied and doesn't shove her out of his apartment. He sits down where she can get to him and acts mildly sulky and she then tries to kiss him. Just as the FMC walks in the door to see it.
We now get a lot of panicking and him pissed that he allowed himself to get into that kind of position and I agreed wholeheartedly with that assessement. However, after a day of the MMC confronting his sister unsatisfactorily and then the ex-OW also unsatisfactorily the main couple end up back together. Very little fuss in my opinion.
Honestly, I was at the point of wondering what was the point of this book? It dragged, it didn't have any epiphany moments, it didn't have any comeuppance for the sister or ex-OW or for the paramedic partner Archer who the author implied had a crush on the FMC but was never developed further in the story at all, it had at least one questionable s e x scene that was gross and plenty more that made no sense. Again I was at a loss as to where the author was going or what she was trying to express.
Rebound Love needs a HUGE rewrite at best or a completely new author at worst. This author has good ideas for her plots but no skill on how to execute them. The story has an epilogue that leads a few years into the future on how happy they are but we don't get any closure on all those hanging threads. Like the MMC never called the ex-OW out on what was clearly a grab to get him back because she was loosing everything without his money helping to support her and him helping her with everyday life stuff and NOT becasue she was still in love and had never cheated. I definitely feel like she cheated. We never get the MMC actually forcing his sister to own up to her own sh!t life and IMO her cheating on her deadbeat browbeaten husband for an ex-OM who left her years ago for whatever reason that is never mentioned either. Or for the sister to own up to the drama she was causing and for her to apologise to the FMC at least. We never even hear if she is still a part of their lives after all her BS. We also see the FMC in a Bonus chapter via the author's subscription service contemplating seeing her own runaway deadbeat father as he got in contact with her out nowhere, but not how she handled it.
Seriously, DON'T PAY for this book. It would be a waste of your money. Good luck.

Loved this book! But then again I love all of your books! The characters never got boring and the story line captivated me to the very end! I definitely recommend for everyone to read this book and all of her others, you're sure to have an adventure of a life time.
I loved this book so much I couldn't put it down. At times it had me on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen next! Although I don't like to read a lot of sex scenes in books I was able to skip past them and not really miss anything. This book definitely deserves your time and attention! I am looking forward to reading more of Melissa Benders books in the future!
This book is really good. I just started reading English book, and this book make me want to keep reading until the end. The storyline is fun and not many conflict.. Hope to read more books in the future.
I've read this book multiple times, and every time I fall more in love with it. It is a great, very well balanced book. I love the fact that their love story was not perfect, because no love story is really perfect. I also loved their dogs, and the way their story started beause of them. Overall, I really enjoyed every time I read this book.
Melissa Bender has written a very addictive story. The story line is engrossing well worth anyone's effort to read. Thanks Melissa for such a great read
I absolutely loved the book. Beginning of the story I thought that Sienna would be his rebound but loved how the story took a different turn. Kept me on the edge of my seat. Always wanting to never stop reading and finding out what would happen next. I can read this book over and over again. One of the best books I have ever read.
I loved reading His Rebound Love on wattpad. I anxiously waited for a new chapter. Melissa Bender is an amazing author and I've read all her books on wattpad. I really wish this book was longer though. There seemed to be a whole lot more of their story to be told.
This book is so original, and to me at least there was nothing cliche about it. It provides you with a little insight to females and is amazing through and through.
Go to the dog park - Have your dogs meet each other - Fall in love
I think it is a brilliant concept since I love dogs. Sometimes dogs just have to help their owners find love I guess.
On one side you have the very innocent yet feisty Sienna and on the other Jax, who has just come out of a pretty bad relationship. No surprise that both are a little hesitant.
It is lovely to see how the relationship between the two develop and grow despite the hurdles from both sides.
Admittedly the end felt a bit rushed but who doesn't like a happy ending?
Melissa Benders books are phenomenal especially this one since it's one of my favorites I have no idea were these ideas come from but her mind is just something I would love to explore his rebound love is about finding love again no matter what kind of situation your in that's what this book is like to me when your read it you will be hooked and sinked right away won't even get to take your eyes off cause you immediately have to know what comes next and her others books are exactly addictive as this one too.
Cute and lovely story with a lot of sex scenes if you like those. I’m not particularly fond of a lot of sex, and sometimes I skimmed, but I liked the plot and the characters. The hero is a truly good guy, who’s been engaged with a bitch of a woman for two years. She is quite the socialite, always perfectly groomed and looking for attentions, while he’s the simple guy who loves his Xbox , his beer and some nice evening watching Netflix. Why not, average kind of guy but really nice. He wants a family, kids, a good job and sex, which is understandable because he’s 26. His girl hasn’t given it to him for the last six months so the poor sod has to do a great job with x rated videos and his hand in the shower. He also has this dream of a sexy redhead that looks very real. One night his gf has a girl night out and cheats on him. He leaves her, and he’s moping for some weeks, then he walks his dog out and meets the heroine. Guess what. She’s a beautiful redhead just like the one in his dreams. And they start a pleasant and romantic love story. I admit the book is quite cheesy, not a lot of drama, only in a couple of moments when nasty ow comes back to make mischief but it’s all on her side. The hero is into the heroine from the beginning and never falters. He realizes that what he felt for ow was not even compared to what he feels for the heroine. She’s his dream girl. And they go at it like rabbit. The sex part is quite a bit, but in the beginning it was nice because the heroine is a virgin, a girl with severe issues about her looks, her weight, due to some school bullying, and the sex with the hero is good but not unrealistic good, that is it takes some time before she’s able to enjoy all the sex with the very eager and patient hero. So no magic penis here, but a very real and nice approach with a hint of humor. The hero is a dear, he really loves her and he really is appreciative and supportive about her looks and personality. He’s really a catch. The couple have also some meddling relatives but not nasty or unbearable. Only a bit overbearing. The end is sweet and the couple really have a dream life. I liked the book a lot, it’s not very angsty but lately I’ve been disappointed in all I’ve read, both recent and past books, so beggars can’t be choosers. This author is also a very safe one, or better, she’s safe because when the hero meets the heroine he isn’t with anyone else. In a couple of books he’s stil engaged and married to ow but he never has sex with the, after he meets the heroine and the relationship with ow are always fake. One thing I found bizarre, the obsession of the heroine with the color of her hair, she’s a redhead and she thinks she never had boyfriends because of the color of her hair. Really? And if she finds her hair so ugly why can’t she choose a different colors? Besides this strange fact, the book was entertaining and a good reading.
There are some serious editing issues with the book.
First, I think the book was supposed to be written in British English, but a lot of the vernacular was American English with some small Britishisms thrown in. For example, "mum" and "mate" were used often, but when describing money "dollars" was said, not pounds or quid.
Second, there were also a lot of factual errors in the story. One chapter begins with the narrator called Daniel. WTF is Daniel? The author forgot to change the name of the chapter narrator to Jack/Jax.
Third, the grammar errors were also mind boggling. It's almost as if the author just published a first draft and let it all hang out there.
And finally, there are A LOT of hanging plot threads. Which was very unfortunate.
This book is mostly from Jax's POV and a few chapters in the FMC's POV. And honestly, her chapters didn't add to the story.
Short review. First book by author Melissa Bender I have read but not my last. Jackson is a good book boyfriend, he's loyal, devoted, and honest. Sienna is sweet and funny but insecure about herself when her Jackson meet there's no doubt these two are right for each other. There are a few mishaps, some interference by Jackson's ex girlfriend who doesn't seem to get that the relationship is brunt behind repair. And some others who try to convince the Jackson and Sienna that Sienna is a rebound a relationship and not a everlasting one. I love how Jackson went about confronting and talking out any misunderstanding or doubts that Sienna had do to either her own insecurities or others trying to make her doubt his feelings for her.
The epilogue is the most detail epilogue I have ever read but still left me wanting to see more of Jackson and Sienna's life together.
This book was a full fully fullest length book I've read in awhile. It had many elements of drama, true love, expectations, and reality vs fantasy life. Jackson probably thought he was always meant to be with the typical model type even if he's monogamous type. And Jasmine is the type that thinks she is everything a man needs and no one compares or can be outdone. Well Sienna is that wake up call. Uniquely beautiful, pure and has insecurity issues. Jackson needed balancing out and Sienna character worked well with his personality type. The couples had some very hard realizations to come to terms with, and in the end Jackson and Sienna got what they deserved and needed. I truly enjoyed there relationship, because it didn't go in a route most romance novels go and I like change in a story a Lil mixing up the norm is awesome for more interesting reading.
I wish I could have liked this book more. I had expected something more fast paced and rich according to the high reviews. What I read was a relationship dragged out in too much detail, frustration over an ex girlfriend that couldn't catch a clue, and a lacking connection between the two main characters. There wasn't enough conflict either. The ex girlfriend bit was dragged out so long I wanted to give up...the only other thing was a car accident that caused no real rift in there lives. However one redeeming thing I found about the book was the ending where there were several epilogues with a further look into their happily ever after...it was cute and I had no other questions when the book ended.
There were aspects of this book I very much enjoyed, but I felt like had it been professionally edited it would have been a much better book.
For instance friends are mentioned but not kept up with- they come and go peripherally and Is rather either they were there or they weren’t. Then the situation with his sister, Lauren. It lacked any resolution which would make sense if there was a book after just about her, but there isn't(unless I missed it). For someone mentioned so heavily to not give a resolution makes no sense. There are details in some areas- especially surrounding day the sister or her mom, and then in other areas they are glossed over and barely mentioned. This lacked consistency and drove me a bit nuts.
It was ok Though quite realistic but i still didn’t like the h. I mean she really came across as a desperate. I cannot make out one good quality of her’s frankly H was ok. The reason OW broke up with him was ridiculous. Also some of the storylines were left incomplete like what happened with the sister and why did the work Partner of the h was such a douche. Also i still feel the relationship and the family was way too soon.
This book started out great but got lost around the middle. There were moments when it picked up, but I just didn't really fall in love with it. Admittedly, I don't usually like the virgin main character stories. Sorry, but its true.
