Warning: This book could change the way you see the world.
The mysterious group of people called the 'Erev Rav' have stayed hidden in the shadows of Jewish history for more than three millenia. For the first time, this book pieces together some of the deepest Jewish sources and commentaries to paint a picture of the Erev that's complex, engaging and occasionally disturbing.
In these pages, you'll find the answer to questions like:
> Who are the Erev Rav? > How are they really connected to the Jewish people? > Why have they got such a bad name? > How do they behave? > Why are they still a problem for the Jewish people, even in our modern times? > How are they connected to global redemption, and the coming of Moshiach? > What can we do, to meet the challenge they pose to us and our communities?
This book is like reading a mystery thriller about the Jewish people, just so much better.

Until a few of years’ ago, I thought I was pretty much done with writing – but man plans and God laughs. Since then, I've published a number of books, including:

This book is completely unique. The author obviously gathered highly regarded ancient sources, then wove them into a book written for the modern reader. As far as I can tell, there is nothing like this book on this subject. And it provides SO MUCH insight into all sorts of problems and dysfunction occurring today.
While it helps to at least have prior familiarity with the term "Erev Rav," the author explains things so well and so clearly that anyone can benefit. Regarding the one or two parts that demand some prior knowledge, the author alerts the reader first, explaining how much the reader can skip and where to pick up again without breaking the book's fluidity.
This masterpiece contains a lot of innovative ideas and insights based on original sources and you'll experience a lot of "wow!" moments as you go through the each chapter. The author also covers the self-improvement aspect, which injects a lot of hope and positivity into the whole phenomenon. As always, Rivka Levy manages to write about the most complex topics in a way that is clear and conversational. In addition to everything else, the book is an absolute pleasure to read.
I wasn't sure what to expect when I started reading this book but found it easy to read and very informative. You can tell that the author spent a lot of time researching before writing this book. While it helps if you have a familiarity with Jewish history and the Bible or Torah, it isn't necessary to read this book. She lays everything out then summarizes everything to make even this somewhat complex subject matter understandable.
For me, not being Jewish, this was a very interesting book. I knew that there were Egyptians that left Egypt with the Jewish people during the Exodus. But never gave them much thought beyond that. I recommend you read this book whether you are Jewish or not. It is worth reading just for the history and insightful summaries the author has written.
