This was fantastic, all 7 stories but especially Sinful Abandon! I've been busy traveling but I will write a full review soon.

7 Versions of the Verboten. This is an anthology of forbidden love novellas by 7 talented authors. I hear through the grapevine, that some of these tasty little morsels are going to get their own full length novels...to which I reply ~ HELL YES! May I please have some more?!
Each novella will give you a different twist on a taboo love story. Sometimes, they will make you fan your face, due to the heat. Other times, you'll be reading through your fingers as you want to cover your eyes and declare, 'they're so screwed!'
Difficult as it is, I'd rate the entire book at a solid 4.25 stars, none of the stories deserve below 4 stars. Make no mistake, these ladies can write. I appreciate the authors for letting me screen this ARC.

I loved this anthology! Each story is based on some type of secret affair, yet, they were all so unique. Some were over the top smutty and some were sweet and contemporary. You basically get everything you need in one book. I was a little saddened by a book or two. They were so good and then it just ended, yet the story was no way close to being over. I am begging and pleading with the Book Gods that they will release full length novels!! Some of these characters will be hard to forget. All in all, it was fantastic!!

Highly recommend one clicking this one. If you love just one of the authors, you will enjoy all the stories. There is something for everyone ;) a coach, an intern, a neighbor, a bartender,an airman, a doctor, and your dad's best friend. A lot of the authors are writing more of these stories and I can't wait to read them!!

Forbidden never felt so right!
I don't know how they did it, but this group of ridiculously talented women created something beyond amazing. It's insane how these ladies were able to captures my attention, pull me into a world, and make me fall in love within the first few pages, but did they ever...
You get every type of man within these seven stories: soft-hearted, strong-willed, hard-headed and determined, mysterious, noble, caring, and a full on alpha. Each has a beautiful story to tell.
Each pulls at your heart in different ways. Each as gloriously taboo as they come.
Each as good as the next.
While it took me a while to get through the book in its entirety, I devoured each story in one sitting.

I absolutely loved this collection of novellas from these authors. They might be short stories but they packed in a full story giving you time to fall in love with the characters and bring out a whole range of emotions. Definitely a must read.

I was given an ARC of Sinful Abandon by Jeannine Colette. It was incredible. It was sexy and steamy and I loved every word. I can't wait to read the rest of the stories in this!! I have no doubts that the rest will be just as amazing!!

I love taboo books—books that push your limits and leave you all twisted inside.
When I heard that Jeannine, one of my favorite authors, was writing a story for A Secret Affair, a collection of short stories with all proceeds going to The Bookworm Box, I was all over that baby!!!
In Sinful Abandon we meet Heather McCallister, a fierce, do-not-f*ck-with-me producer who knows what she wants and isn't afraid to get it. Money, power and security are all she needs in life. Or is it?!
When she meets Mr. Hottie Blue Eyes AKA Ryan Pierson, she had an OMG-Do-I-Really-Know-What-I-Want moment. He opens her eyes to feelings she's never had before.
This short story was fantastic and I absolutely loved both Heather and Ryan!! Jeannine left me wanting MORE, proving once again why she's a go to author for me!
I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the books in this collection and supporting a great cause! Go one click!!!

I bought this mainly to support the Bookworm Box cause and it was very well priced and also on Kindle Unlimited.
Not normally a fan of anthologies as the contents are normally pretty short and book 1 of something. This was different and we actually got complete stories with the potential to bring out a follow up book.
full on illicit affairs, erotic, well written and great value for money. If taboo relationships are something you like to read then have a look at this one. I won't disappoint. A well deserved 5 star read.

I love all of these authors. Each story was very good. Some of them will continue in later books. That's what I love about anthologies. You get a sense of how the author writes and can purchase full lengths once you know. Being an author is a hard job and I like that I was pleased with each story. Very interesting reading.

This Book is Back with Forbidden Fruits but you get more then a taste , you get great developed short stories that make you want to know how each story ends Incredible Collection of Authors and Stories Five Hot Stars

I am usually not a huge fan of anthologies, but this one was beyond good. Each story was completely different from the one before but they all involved a secret affair, with some taboo aspect. I hope some of these novella evolve into full stories, I would gladly read any of them!

A SECRET AFFAIR is a book of 7 Forbidden Novellas by 7 different Authors: Carina Adams,

1.) BLURRY by Carina Adams: Cecelia Merrill and Julie Samms were best friends since there 2 day apart birth. They were together having a great time on a get-away, when there good time was interrupted by their discovery by Coach Knightly, who happened upon them. Cecelia had missed field hockey practice that morning due to illness. She did not look ill at all, and being a strict coach, was not pleased in the least. Also he found that they had arrived in a car that neither girl had a license to drive. He confiscated the car keys, and proceeded to be the one that would drive them home. Lia being his star player, he insisted on driving her home and talking to her mother. He was made aware that the run down trailer, and the absent mother who was not going to make an appearance anytime soon, was not a good situation. Craig Knightly decided there and then that he would do what he could to help his young star player. He decided to be her friend as well as coach and teacher. He had decided to be a teacher because he knew how cruel kids could be. He also knew all it took was one teacher to turn a life around. But the more time they spent together, half the time he forgot about her age, or that she was his student, because in his mind, she was simply “My Lia”. She loved him for always helping, and being there when he didn't have to. She also knew whatever they were is forbidden. They both knew who they both were and who they could never be.
2.) SINFUL ABANDON by Jeannine Colette: Heather McCallister has only had herself to depend on since the young age of 10. Since then she has worked, and clawed her way to be producer of the lifestyle news program. The show has been in near ruins when she came on board and turned it around. Her real goal was to seduce her forty-year-old boss and one of Chicago's most eligible bachelors. Heather had grown up with a drunk of a father and a mom who left town, so it gave her life goals that were not too honorable. Her idea of a great job would be to find a company with great compensation plan and a rich single boss. Jarrod Bellomy was her boss and president of the company and her target. He was a known womanizer, and this would make her goal a little more difficult. And was she willing to settle for money with out love. At a low point in her crest to bag Jarrod, she shares a cab with Ryan Pierson. He is handsome, kind, nice to look at, tall with a muscular frame, he's strong and secure, with a face like a Calvin Klein model. All she could think was “Why do the poor ones always have to be so damn handsome?” When with “sinful abandon” Ryan first kisses her, life's plans start to unravel.
3.) THE BOY NEXT DOOR by Leddy Harper: Kristy Abner has lived a straight and narrow life, ever since she made a big mistake at 16. That big mistake had produced her one and only child Kyra. Now at age 33, that child was the center of her life. Doing something she knew was wrong may seem like it hurt her in the end, but it gave Kristy a life she wouldn't have otherwise had. Her present love life was none existing, but her sinful dreaming about the boy next door filled her nights with wicked dreams which would have to service. The boy was Asher Jenkins, and no 17 year old teenager should look or be build like him. She always did her best to ignore him, but the attraction seemed to work both ways. His attention always seemed to be focused on her, and when ever he could he was in her proximity. Cornering her one day in the community pool, he actually made his attraction and intentions known. Kristy could not understand gaining the attention of a physically fit, beautiful male almost half her age. His hypnotic tone, and all consuming aura left her mind spinning and her moral compass shattered. As they got to really know each other they realized she was flawed and he was broken. What they wanted together should never be, but could love alone find a way?
4.) WHISKEY BENT by Nicole Hart: Reese was having a bad day or make that a bad life. She arrived at the New York airport, but her luggage had not. She needed the material in her suitcase for the meeting in the morning. Her dominating husband Ryan was burning up her phone, demanding to know just where she was, and why she hadn't called immediately upon arrival. Her best-friend Westley appeared and swept her away from the headaches of the airport. He said she needed to go out with him and have some fun. Wesley said, “Well you wouldn't have to lie if you were married to someone normal. One of these days you're going to realize how unhealthy your relationship is. He gets off on controlling you.” Freedom! It might be temporary, but she planned to soak it up. Wesley stopped in front of of a small building with a sign above the wooden door with the strange name Whiskey Bent. She walked in and seeing the bartender didn't know this moment would chance her entire life. They locked stares and she fell into a trance. Her eyes suddenly adjusted to his every perfect feature. His dirty blond hair stood on end, and he donned a matching beard. Ink started at the edge of his shoulders and continued over the corded muscles on his arms down to his knuckles. Those dark hunter green eyes, continued to stare at her. She later would learn his name was Gage, and he wasn't the one who was married.
5.) THE HIGH ROAD by Lauren Runow: Jenelle was 28 years old and trying to hide her true feelings of how unhappy she was with the direction her life was going. She would smile the same, sweet, fake smile she plastered on her face all day long. Her boyfriend Travis and herself were both Officers in the Air Force. Jenelle was already a Captain, and he was testing any day to be one, too. Then a girl named Sarah approached her, and shattered her world. “No, you don't know me. I just wanted to let you know I'm pregnant with your boyfriend's baby.” Her life just changed in the drop of a hat, or in her case, a girl named Sarah.
Jenelle was done being a doormat to any guy, so called her best-friend Layla, determined to make a change in her life. I'm done dating anyone in the military and just wanted to have fun in the civilian world for once. So they headed to a dance club in Sacramento, so she wouldn't know anyone, and she could have a good time. It is there she meets Alex. He's tall with broad shoulders. His dark hair is unruly in a sexy way. Shoulders and arms are tattooed. He said he wasn't looking for anyone, either. She thought she could just hang out with him for the night...
6.) DOCTOR PATIENT CONFIDENTIALITY by Stephie Walls: Katheryn (Kate) Rockholt is a selfish, spoiled, rich girl used to getting her way. When she was handed her latest pink slip, her father was less then happy. She decided a night out with her two best-friends Carmella & Kappy was in order. Completely inebriated, she found herself, sandwiched between two beautiful men whose names she never heard. She had a degree from Wellesley, so shocked to find herself knocked up. Kate was sent by her controlling father to Dr. Hale Duek. OBGYN. He maintained his professionalism required for his job despite her idiotic childish flirting. He was not prepared to lose his practice for violating a code of ethics. Both of them were trapped in her father's web but desperately needing the security it offered. The attraction is mutual, but every decision has consequences either good or bad.

This was the first anthology I've read and I wasn't disappointed. With such an all star line up you will love each and every novella in this set.
Some taboo, some sweet and romantic, and some smutty that will have your Kindle melting. It had an amazing mixture of everything you could want, yes, they're all secret affairs, but each of them will have you hooked.
It doesn't matter what you're in the mood for, you'll find it in this anthology. I'd definitely like more on all these books, I'm not a huge fan of short stories, they just leave you needing and wanting more. I enjoyed every dirty, smutty moment of these characters, so if you're listening authors, give us MORE!

So let me start off by saying this anthology is full of naughty taboo stories! Holy hell ladies make sure you have a spare pair of panties with you at all times!
There are 7 short stories about secret affairs in here and they will all have you wanting more, that's the only draw back to these anthologies is they leave you needing more details and dying to know what happens next.
I'm not gonna tell you about all 7 stories, but they are all hot and taboo. My fave 2 were Whiskey Bent & The Boy Next Door, so I will tell you a little more about them.
WHISKEY BENT by Nicole Hart - This was by far my fave, I loved it from beginning to end. The story was hot as hell but there was depth to it, I was able to get into the chartacters heads and even the side characters so quickly because of how well Nicole wrote them. I am so excited that we will get more of Gage & Reese, that was the best news I've read in a long time!
THE BOY NEXT DOOR by Leddy Harper - This was dirty, I should not have felt how I did about Asher, but that boy says & does things to Kristy that no boy should do at 17. This story was wrong but oh so right.
I believe that Carina Adams, Leddy Harper, Nicole Hart & SL Ziegler will all be giving us some more, THANK GOD!!!

I normally don't really read anthologies, but when I heard that this one was titled A Secret Affair, I was on board. Forbidden and taboo books are some of my absolute favorite reads so I was excited for this!
I was only familiar with one of the authors that participated in this, but now I want to find all the other authors' past work. Some of these stories are torturing me because I KNOW there's going to be a continuation to them, at least I really HOPE there will be. I'm going crazy with not finishing their stories.
I think my favorites were Sinful Abandon by Jeannine Colette and The High Road by Lauren Runow. Part of the reason why I loved those two the most was because both of them aren't getting a continuation. Both of the stories were nicely wrapped up. I would really like for there to be a novel or novella one day based off of the deaf parents in Sinful Abandon. They were both very sweet and funny and very much in love. I would like to see how they met and such.
I loved each and every story in this anthology for many different reasons and I hope that I won't have to wait too long to finish certain characters stories.

We all have our own definition of what 'forbidden' means. Well let me tell you that this little gem covers them all.
A lot of the time I felt like I was witnessing a train wreck. Something that I knew I shouldn't be reading, knew it was so bad but couldn't stop.
I love how each short story was a different version of forbidden love. Some were hard to read, sometimes I felt disgusted. While others had me glued to every fucking word.
No matter what your definition of 'forbidden' is, there will be something for everyone.
Only bad thing...instead of cursing that author and throwing your kindle at the wall once, you get to do it numerous times. Sometimes it feels so good to be bad.

These women that wrote these stories are phenomenal. I loved every one of them for different reasons. Some hit home, personally. Overall, these women put together a spectacular compilation of all things sexual and romantic. I wish I could pick one favorite over another but I can't. They all live deep inside my wants and desires. Secret Affair authors, you are the cream of the crop. You exude everything that every woman wants and I salute you.

Whoa. Steaming hot
I didn't know what to expect when I got this book. The first story was overwhelmingly short for me and I wanted to read the entire book, so I did. I almost gave up reading this because I thought I would feel the same after every story- I didn't. After that first story, the short stories seemed complete and were all definitely taboo. This book is full of those naughty, sexy scenarios we all fantasize about but never experience.

7 novellas about secret/forbidden/taboo love that will grip you from the 1st page leaving you wanting more... This anthology will leave you with questions about how you see romance and break barriers you never thought of crossing. If you have "hard limit" at taboo relationships this isn't the collection of books for you but if you are willing to cross a line then pick up this fantastic collection of beautifully forbidden romances which all the proceeds are being donated to charity so it's a complete win win!

Girl that was some of the best sex you've ever written! The Boy Next Door by Leddy Harper -- Oh my "fans myself", this one will stick with me for awhile... Beautifully done and very thought provoking... Whisky Bent by Nicole Hart - you are so lucky we are getting more... OMG that's no way to end that... Eeek... Loved these too and can't wait to see what's in store for them! The High Road by Lauren Runow - Oh my... Wow... You never disappoint but to find out some of that is a true story. Everyone loves a bad boy and this one stole my heart... <3 Doctor Patient Confidentiality by Stephie Walls - I wasn't too sure about Kate at the beginning but damn she won me over... The use of "Treasure Chest" had me giggling. I can't wait to read some of your back library... Borrowed Tyme by S.L. Ziegler - X will win you over and steal your heart but that ending might just crush it.

This is an amazing anthology of many relationships that are deemed forbidden. Each novella has a different type of forbidden juiciness and all are written amazing! I am looking forward to seeing how many of these romances bud into something more. If you are looking for some short spicy forbidden fruits, this is the exact anthology for you! These are amazing authors who know how to write the words to draw you into the story. Plus all proceeds go to help the Bookworm Box!!!!

Review for Sinful Abandon by Jeannine Colette.
Heather is looking for security after a rough childhood. She believes a man with money can provide that for her so that's who she sets her sights on. An argument over a taxi leads her to Ryan. Ryan doesn't fulfill her criteria and actually has more stacked against him than just his bank account but Heather's never been happier than with him. This is an instalust/instalove romance. The characters bring out the best in each other and I loved Ryan's family.

I LOVED this anthology. The story of taboo in books always sucks me in, but keeping me there is not always so easy. This anthology definitely hit the marks to give it staying power on my Kindle and more. As a result of this anthology, I now follow each of these authors.
The novellas in A Secret Affair all had unique twists and fabulous characters. Some stories ended with a smiling HEA, while others left me salivating for MORE, MORE, MORE!
I am so happy I took a chance on this one and look forward to more from these authors.
