A very enjoyable, quick, shifter romance story by Becca Fanning that is fast-paced, with interesting and likable characters, adventure, secrets, suspense, a bit of action, sexual tension, love, and a HEA.

A city girl on the run decides to hide out at a small town in Texas thinking to stay away from prying eyes. But Dakota is caught up in the rodeo scene and catches the eye of a very big and handsome rodeo cowboy and running seems to take a back burner to the heat in his golden eyes.

Eddie falls out of his drunken stupor when he sees Dakota and decides right then and there that his drinking and gambling days are over. Now he just wants to keep her safe from whatever she's running from and keep her in his arms where he and his bear want her.

How to describe this read...well it started off well. Then it just went down hill. It to me didn't have the WOW, the oh my YES, the drama, the love, the redemption. Even when the secret came out it was so anti-climatic. Over all , I wouldn't read the other's in the series.

My first exposure to shifters in a rodeo! The writer wasted no time jumping into action and this short story flew by. All the characters are very endearing and I could definitely tell there would be more books in this series. Although it is book one of a series it still is a standalone and is a good easy read if you want a quick PNR fix. This ARC was provided to me in exchange for an honest review.

This story has a few things that most of my shifter stories don’t—bears who ride and compete in rodeos and that shifters aren’t a secret or in hiding for the most part in this series. I’ve read all of the stories in this series and while they are slightly longer than other stories that I’ve read by this author, I found them more enjoyable and complete. There’s an underlying, sinister anti-shifter storyline that arches across all of the stories combined with how each couple met or got together.

Edward. I received this book as an ARC member in return for an honest review. This book was exciting! Dakota was looking to hide from the world and her past until she met Bianca and Edward. Ed and his brothers were also hiding out in a rodeo. She interacted with the Clan only to be discovered but no one will give away her secret. Edward promised he would keep her safe forever.

His debt seem to be catching up withhim and this time it meant being tossed out of the beer tent. But softening the fall was a curvy little thing full of spit and vinegar.

Edward was short and sweet, my only complaint i have would be that the book wasn't long enough.The storyline was absolutely epic from start to finish. Becca Fanning is an amazing author , i love her books. If you want to read the shifter book I would highly reccomend Becca Fanning books

Zero character development. Barely likeable characters. the story could have been filled out a bit more. Still lost as to why Dakota was on the run and hiding out in Texas! It just meant I didn't quite grasp the urgency of her situation. I just wanted a bit background into his change of heart - there was no instant declaration of love/lust or mate so I was just left a bit at sea. Also a bit adrift when it comes to why he and the clan are outlaws? Shifters seem to be known about although not well integrated so I'm hoping that will be explained a bit more in future books.

Dakota is in the run from Nebraska and finds up in Texas. She is introduced to the bull riding circuit by her new roommate. She comes afoul of a drunken bear shifter named Eddie. When he sobers up, he is a great guy. Will Dakota find safety with his clan, or will she be turned on as a fugitive?

Dakota is on the run. She lands in a West Texas town and rentals a room from Brianna, a rodeo bull rider. Brianna takes her the rodeo in town where she meet Eddie, he's a bull rider as well as a bear shifter. And he's set his sights on Dakota. Wish the ending was more of a HEA.

Unfortunately, the promise of a great story failed to deliver. The writing was sophomoric, the story was chaotic, and the character development was mostly nonexistent. Seriously not worth the time or cost.

I was given this book free for an honest review - I really enjoyed this book, the only reason I have given it a four star is because it is quite short.
Dakota is on the run wanted for a crime she didn't commit. she ends up in Texas and manages to snag a room with Brianna a female rodeo star and get took along to the rodeo where she meets Edward a bear shifter with a drink problem. They make a connection - I could tell you more but \i would hate to spoil the story for you. It's definitely worth reading :-)

Dakota Blair was on the run. Her bus arrived in Texas and the heat had exhausted her. The next day, she got an apartment with a friendly bull-riding rodeo woman named Brianna. Brianna dragged her along to the rodeo where they watched as Owen, whose foot was caught in a rope on the bull, shifted into a bear as he fell. Apparently shifters were quite common in this area. Dakota wandered around the grounds until a drunk cowboy accidentally knocked her down. He hadn’t even noticed her! Once he did, he flirted with her until he had to go check on why his family’s rodeo events had been cancelled. The next day, Dakota returned to watch Brianna in her bull-riding event. Eddie once again spotted her and took her to the stable to see one of the animals. She was starting to enjoy his company and felt safe with him.

But when Colby, Eddie’s police cousin, saw a wanted poster, he called Eddie and revealed Dakota’s secret. Eddie was furious with her and she ran away from him. Was this the end of her happiness? Was she now going to be captured and sent back home to face prison?

This was a wonderful story! The action was fast and kept you interested in what would happen next. The characters were very likeable and the reader was drawn in. I highly recommend this wonderful book. This is why the author continues to be one of my favorites! I received a free ARC copy in exchange for an honest review.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this interesting and intriguing book. The story is about a woman (Dakota Blair) who is on the run and although she has money and ID, she would use neither as she wanted nobody to know where she was. Edward (aka Eddie) Tyrell, one of three brothers (Holden and Colby) notices Dakota and is very interested in her. What you will find in this story is drama, intrigue, a bit of humor, a woman on the run, bear shifters, shown an apartment, privately owned (by Brianna), no papers required, going to rodeo, a bull rider, Owen Hutch a bear shifter, drinking, sarcasm, talking, disqualified, retaliation, stampede of pigs, arena, a date with Eddie, a call, fugitive, armed robbery, explanations, disbelief, driving away, coming back, a baddie (Girey) and his thugs, Eddie unconscious, ramming truck into van, barely conscious, a roar, a grizzle, fighting, a gun, another grizzle (Colby), injured, no hospital, rodeo medic, not going to be arrested, declaration of love, part of family, will be safe, no more running, love, lust and a erotic scene. The story-line and plot is well thought out and written, the pace was steady and not rushed. The bonus stories are also well written. The characters have personality with emotional feelings of fear, needs and desires. I would recommend this book to people that like to read a well written shifter story with a happy ending.

I enjoyed the book. The beginning started out well. Eddie didnt make the best impression. He seemed a little immature and oblivious to his responsibilities. The end of the book was rushed and some issues unanswered. He was a total jerk to Dakota after finding out what she "might" have done. He didnt even give her the benefit of the doubt. Thats rich considering how he's acted about taking responsibility for his clan. There wasn't a lot of time for them to actually know each other either. Just a little here and there. Hard to really gauge their feelings for each other because of the fast ending. I got confused a little about the outlaw reference. On Dakota yes I get it but Eddie and his clan are outlaws? Since when are they outlaws and for what? I think a better word would be outsiders considering not everyone likes shifters. I liked Brianna’s character she was a cool chick. Interesting to find out the next story.
