This book of Swami Bhaskarananda, is, in short, a handbook for every one eager to realize the higher values of life and attain life's fulfillment. In this book, he details the eight steps that constitute Patanjali's system of Yoga and points out the obstacles in the path to the Supreme Goal and sheds much light on Kundalini Yoga, Samadhi, and Mantra japa. The author also emphasizes the benefits of meditation in the form of stress-relief.
The book is an enlightening read - I've never read the Yoga Sutras so cannot comment on that but I believe the author does a very good job of explaining in lay terms the essence of the great Patanjali's writings. The book also has illustrated simple activities which can be implemented in our very lives to attain peace and tranquility. Entirely accessible and much recommended.
