A Love So Dangerous

Warning: This is one dark, dangerous, dirty-talking, adrenaline-fueled thrill ride. Are you ready?

I've got a big c*ck, a bigger bank account, and zero interest in Happily Ever After. I just want to feel alive, to look into a woman's eyes and see something that's going to keep my mind off all the shit I refuse to think about for an hour or two.

And then I meet her, a good girl with a body made for sin and ugly problems only a bad man can fix.

A bad man like me...

Gabe Alexander is the devil. Or an angel.
He's a criminal hiding behind a millionaire dollar pedigree, but he also saved my life and my family. He's the worst kind of bad news, but every time he touches me, and whispers filthy, beautiful things in my ear, all I want is more.

More of his kiss, his touch, and the dangerous, seductive things he makes me feel.

I don't want to go bad, but the man makes it feel so damned good...

For some reason the song Dangerously In Love by Beyonce comes to mind when describing Lili Valente’s emotionally and adrenaline charged romance, A Love So Dangerous.

Lili Valente takes her readers on a fast paced romance that reminds me a bit of Bonnie & Clyde/ Robin Hood and Maid Marian. But of course, Valente integrates a staple signature of hot steamy sexual romance that will have you revving your engines. With a strong heroine and charismatic hero, Valente takes readers on a journey of a young woman rediscovering some fun and adventure with the hot rich bad boy.

photo 1ee41c8bb33dd8c741fa3f34517a75_zpsj8ak0m5r.gif “I kiss her with the truth of how much I want her, how much she fascinates me, at the front of my mind, hoping that truth will be enough to make up for the lies I’ve told. The lies I’ll continue to tell, until the day I tell her goodbye.”

Caitlin is twenty years old and a high school drop-out. She never planned to drop-out from high school but in order to keep her siblings and niece together, she didn’t have a choice. Five people depended on her to provide the basic necessities since her father is an alcoholic and can’t keep a stable job. As most twenty year olds are off experiencing college and fun, Caitlin had to be reasonable. And so when Caitlin goes off with her friend to celebrate her birthday, she never expected to run into Gabe Alexander, her former high school classmate.

photo 1ee41c8bb33dd8c741fa3f34517a75_zpsj8ak0m5r.gif “This family has cost me my fair share of blood, sweat, and tears, but they are mine and I love them. I need them. So fucking much.”

Money has never been an issue for Gabe but this rich trust fund kid has a secret. He is a criminal that steals from bad people. When Gabe introduces Caitlin to his criminal activities, he never expected this good girl had it in her to steal. And for Caitlin keeping her family together means to steal then so be it. What was supposed to be a summer fling between Gabe and Caitlin took a whole new detour when feelings got involved. In this game where danger and love collides, will Gabe be able to walk away from Caitlin and keep it only a summer fling? Or will he discover that the only thing that is dangerous is falling in love?

So if you are looking for a quick steamy and sexy read, A Love So Dangerous might be the book for you. Just heads up this book does end with a major cliffhanger.

The writing is absolutely outstanding! Lili Valente can write anything. A Love So Dangerous is sexier, darker and hotter with an extremely different plot twist.
This is a unique story of Caitlin and Gabe. On her birthday she decides she needs a night out. She goes out dancing and is approached by Gabe, a hot sexy guy who's looking for something different than his normal dates. There's heat, there's a smokin' connection and there's recognition! I think saying it's a wild night is a bit of an understatement!
Caitlin is taking care of her brothers and niece and trying to earn enough money to keep their house and feed her family. Gabe can't forget about the one night they spent together so he has a proposition for her that she can't say no to. They agree to spend the summer together and their lust quickly turns into something deeper. I was sucked into the story from the beginning and couldn't put it down. Gabe is so effing sexy and dangerous with just enough of a dirty mouth! Caitlin is beautiful and caring and can't help but fall for him. They have major obstacles and there is a cliffhanger. I laughed and I cried and I can't wait to see how their story plays out.

This is a memory I want to keep for the rest of my life. This is one of the pictures I want to flash before my eyes when I'm fighting for my final breath.

And then I see him, Gorgeous Gabe, leaning against the weathered bricks of Harry's Diner, his jagged brown hair hanging so delicious in wrinkled black jeans and a whisper-thin gray tee shirt it should be illegal. The moment our eyes meet, his full lips draw into a grin that promises the best kind of trouble, and something breaks inside me.

Once in a while, I would try reading books from unfamiliar authors. And you know what? Today, I think I found my next one-click. Oops, did I just say that? Yep, I did! You think it was too early to say? Nope. I'm not making a mistake in there, because after I read A Love So Dangerous, I know that from this day on, whatever Lili Valente (aka Jessie Evans) writes, I read.

A Love So Dangerous is the story of ghetto living Caitlin Cooney, gorgeous thrill-seeker Gabe Alexander and the night that changed both of them.

You can say that this a modern re-tell of Bonnie and Clyde, or Robin Hood and Maid Marian. It's filled with extremely exciting, and hot as hell chapters that will make you devour this book in one sitting.

"I have no clue that this will be the night that changes everything, the night he sweeps into my life like a summer storm, washing away all those years of hard work and good intentions, making me someone different than I was before."

I'M.BLOWN.AWAY. Seriously, I am! As early as the first page, I was already absorbed by Lili Valente's writing. Her chapters were so addicting, and I must say that she's one of those authors who can play well with words. As I read, the words gently disappeared and were replaced by a motion picture. Valente was able to describe the scenes and the characters so well, that they appeared too real in my head. I just didn't read a story, I became part of it.

This is also one of those books that will scare you because it's making you fall for it too early. I mean, there are some books that started really great, but then every excitement was poured in the first chapters and they just died away as you flip the pages, right? I'm just so thrilled by how Valente was able to keep everything so appealing until the last page.

A Love So Dangerous has some great elements that can get every reader hooked. It's very unique, sometimes heart-stopping, a little funny, partly adorable and extremely hot!

The characters were written amazingly, too. Gabe is a daredevil who's a perfect mix of sweet and sexy! And c'mon, we all have a thing for blue-eyed heroes, who love breaking rules, right?

Caitlin is an amazing MC too. She's brave and she always made sure that she showed her problems who the boss is. She's my kind of heroine! A fighter who has a very loving heart.

A Love So Dangerous is the first book from Lili Valente's three part series-To The Bone. It ends with a cliffhanger, but the next book (A LOVE SO DEADLY) is coming out on Sept 12. I just can't wait to devour the next books in this series. I need more Gabe and Caitlin my life!

I loved this book so much and I hope you could also give this amazing story a chance. This is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

This is such an unexpected story with twists and turns that I could never have predicted. I went into this book expecting a romance between a sweet, innocent young woman and a hard-ass, dominant man. But A Love So Dangerous is so much more than that!

I wasn't prepared for our sweet heroine to be raising a family of 5 on her own while trying to hold down two jobs and placate a drunk, abusive father. And I never thought that our hero would have sociopath tendencies, luring our heroine into committing crime after crime.

But things are not always as they seem and while our couple falls deeper and faster into the relationship that they have built, everything comes crashing down around them. This book ends with a big cliffhanger and I can't wait to see what happens next. I would highly recommend this book!

This was definitely an unexpected story for me. I wasn't prepared for the direction of this story at all. Caitlin is a young woman stepping up to the plate, raising her 3 younger brothers and nearly 3 year old niece. Her mother and older sister have run off and her drunk and abusive father has pretty much abandoned them. Now Caitlin is left behind to pick up the pieces and is juggling two jobs just to put food on the table. One night out, celebrating her birthday, has her running into an old classmate, Gabe Alexander. Gabe comes from a life of privilege and wealth, which is why his criminal activities are such a shock to me. But, there is more to this than meets the eye! His targets and reasons behind choosing them will surprise you. Everything about Gabe surprises me, nothing he does is expected at all.

Caitlin and Gabe are falling fast and hard, until all of a sudden some one puts the breaks on! This book ends with a huge cliffhanger, so don't say you weren't warned! I can't wait to see what is in store for Gabe, Caitlin and the rest of the Cooney family.

Dnf. I couldn’t finish this. I got up to 34% and just couldn’t engage with it. It was fantastically written and the author clearly has a talent, but I didn’t like the story.
It started out promising enough, hot rich guy, hot poor girl, then I don’t know what happened.
There was a lot of focus on how much she needed money, and her family situation which repeated several times. I’m not a slow burn fan, I like something to wow or grip me in the first few pages/chapters and sadly this didn’t.

The heroine in this book is stuck with taking care of her siblings/niece because her parents/sister are a bunch of irresponsibles good for nothings but she's blaming the government? And the hero (who has money by the way) instead of helping her out with some cash decides that she should steal from a bad guy? I mean, what the actual hell?

UGH. THIS STORY HAD A TINGE OF CHILDISHNESS...IT WAS MORE LIKE NEW YA THAN AN ADULT STORY. CANT SAY I LIKE THE CHARACTERS MUCH. TOO IMMATURE FOR ME...

OUR HERO is a fucking rich kid...I was so disappointed when I learnt that's he not an alpha man but a 20 year old almost man who is just too bored with life cause he's got it all. During a sort of "date", he chased off the woman and found another who was dancing like a wild cat on the dance floor. Turns out she's from his old highschool and boom suddenly he's intrigued and he wants into her pants. He seduces her to turn into a bad girl, they do crazy shit that breaks the law for money...and then suddenly they are in love. Ugh, it was unrealistic at best...those typical stories that barely tell you why or how they fell in love. THEY JUST DID because it's all what heroes do with heroines. The hero ain't special. He's those jerk slash playboy who always gets the girl and then breaks her heart. Of course this is a cliffhanger....I don't expect him to stay already and frankly just waiting for him to tuck tail and break off the summer romance as soon as he can.

OUR HEROINE, gawd where to start? I want to like her but after she met Gabe, I just didn't want to be friends with her anymore. After Gabe, she was willing to just run out from the family she has been self sacrificing for because she loves them and NEEDS them. I just didn't like that she's so typical...the good girl who falls and gets influenced by the bad boy and then he breaks her heart. What made it worse...she had no shame and kept begging him to stay, insisting she knows that he loves her and she loves him. What more could be more important? Girl please, if the guy doesn't wanna stay AFTER you begged, just don't save your own dignity and hold your head up high. If he does love and regret leaving you, let him come back and grovel! This is the 21st century, not the 1800s where men dominated!

OVERALL I am way pass the age for teenage dramatics and I'm not even 25. I just like characters that ARE NOT SUPERFICIAL AND FICKLE AND IRRESPONSIBLE. Nope the characters sadly rubbed me the wrong way. IT WASNT EVEN A DARK ROMANCE. WTF. Has the person who wrote the blurb read any DARK EROTICA before?!

ALSD is a decent read. It's just not for me. The kids are adorable, Cait seems to be as decent as expected and Gabe is as well.

The plot, scenes, and character are a bit juvenile for me. This story is definitely not what I'm used to.

I've read the Domination series by this author and that series is DIVINE....SIMPLY TO DIE FOR but this read did not do it for me. I will continue to support the author and I look forward to supporting her in the future.

Disclaimer: Be sure to consider other reviews if you're deciding to purchase this book. This review is my opinion of the book. This does NOT mean it is a bad story or the story isn't written well. I am not saying that at all. Again the story is not for me and my review is a personal opinion. This review is NOT a reflection of the author because I ADORE the author and her books. This book is just a miss for me. Thank you.

I did not know what to expect when I started reading A Love So Dangerous, I thought maybe a new generation Bonnie and Clyde but it felt more of a Robin Hood and Maid Marian type of read. Take from those that are dark, twisted and have done wrong to others to benefit your life and protect and provide for the lives of your siblings. This is the situation Caitlin finds herself in.

Caitlin is twenty years old and is left to take care of her siblings 3 brothers and a 3 yr old niece left behind by her sister. With the thought of losing the house, paying bills and child protective services wanting to take the kids, Caitlin has worked 2 jobs and is doing everything she can to keep her family together. Needing one night to dance her problems away, she goes to a club with a friend. That dance lures the eyes of one man and from that dance Caitlin's life will change. Always trying to do what's right, being the one that her family depends on and putting having a relationship aside to take care of her siblings, will Caitlin be able to handle the danger, excitement and feeling of being wanted that Gabe is offering her for the summer?

Oh Wow! What a character Gabe is, he is dark, magnetic, funny, strong, rich, secretive, protective and sexy as hell. Spotting Caitlin on the dance floor and realizing he knows her from his past as the girl that dropped out of school to take care of her family makes her impossible for Gabe to walk away from. He had plans for the summer and now his plans are including Caitlin to help get her and her family ahead in life so that she wouldn't have to work 2 jobs, lose her family, and she would be able to go back to school. His plans may be so wrong but in his mind it is a form of retribution. Will he be able to convince Caitlin that this is what's best for her? Will he be able to walk away without breaking her heart or his own by the end of summer?

A Love So Dangerous is a intense, sexy, heartfelt, and suspenseful read that left me with questions and will leave you at the edge of your seat. Lili Valente did a amazing job with making the reader feel the heat in the passion between Caitlin and Gabe. Caitlin's love for her family is so perfectly written and easily felt, I could also feel her pain and frustration. The end left me feeling crazy mad thinking anything I could do to my kindle, scroll more, turn it over and look at it if as if I could just get a little more of the story. I can't wait for the next book!!! 5 Stars and highly recommended.

Caitlin & Gabe
I wanted to like this more.
I can see how it would be addicting to want to listen to the next 2 but I didn’t really like Caitlin all that much. Gabe was ok I had a feeling he was hiding something.

The kids were the best part of this book for me. I will give Caitlin the benefit of the doubt because she really does care. I liked that but the way she goes about “getting things” and allowing Gabe to talk her into things.

I just didn’t vibe with that part of the story.
FANTASTIC narration seriously I loved it I am a huge fan of both these narrators they were fabulous!

Nice free Amazon read. New author to me, and I enjoyed the writing style and the attention to believable storytelling. The blurb sounds much more crude (and unappealing) then the story really was. I was very surprised by what Gabe suggested to Caitlyn, to help solve her money woes, and even if there were some questionable characters, I still don't know that their actions were justified. The cliffhanger was a shocker (surprise!), but I was already surprised by the less shocking surprise! Hope this isn't about to take a big fat turn to the dumps in the next installment!

Fascinating story with likable characters. Gabe isn’t the bored, entitled rich boy and Caitlin isn’t the naive girl from the wrong side of the tracks. They are not perfect, far from, but that makes me even like them more. Often it is difficult for me to get into books with very young main characters (probably because I ‘m old enough to be their mum) but in this case I had no problem at all.

A Love So Dangerous by Lili Valente is the first book in her To The Bone series. It is hot and steamy without being overly done. The emotions run high, the writing carries you away, and you won't be able to get enough of Gabe and Caitlin either. Told in dual POV with a cliffhanger ending this will definitely suck you in. Note: It was formerly published as One Wild Night and This Wicked Rush by Jessie Evans.

Caitlin is a good girl who has sacrificed her own future in order to give her three younger brothers and younger niece a better chance at a future than she herself had. Her dad is a drunk, her mom abandoned them ages ago and her sister just up and ran off with her drug dealer leaving her infant daughter behind. Caitlin dropped out of high school so she could work two jobs to keep the kids out of the foster system and has been spinning her wheels ever since.

Gabe has a mission, to right as many of his family's wrongs as possible in the near future. In between, of course, picking up random girls at the nightclub. When a beautiful blond mesmerizes him with her dance he is hooked. Realizing he knows her after they spent time together on the dance floor comes as a shock, but a pleasant one, at least for him, she is just plain SHOCKED that Gabe is dancing and pursuing her.

Loved this - cannot wait to devour more. The characters are New Adult in age and the story reads like a new adult novel. Not to stay it isn't sexy and steamy but they are both in the 20-22 year range so if more mature characters are what you are looking for then I would not recommend this. However, if you enjoy steamy New Adult - READ IT NOW!!!!!!!

DISCLAIMER TO MY FELLOW GOODREADER
This review is my personal opinion and may contain: spoilers, quotes, rants and swearing.

"I am standing at the threshold of a moment that will change my life, and not necessarily for the better. I know that, I know it with everything in me, all the way down to the marrow of my bones."

Caitlin Cooney dropped out of her prestigious high school at age 17 to take care of her 2 month old niece when her older sister took off. Since her father is an alcoholic that cannot hold a job, she is responsible for her three younger brothers as well. Holding two jobs, trying to keep food in their bellies, clean clothes on their bodies and a roof of their heads had taken all her focus. On her 20th birthday, everything changes. Someone from her past, Gabriel Alexander, gives her a glimpse at something more. Caitlin was too caught up in the rush to dig deeper.

"This thing with Caitlin feels...inevitable, like I was meant to spend this last summer with her, like I was meant to rip my heart out of my chest and hand it over to this girl. Still beating. Still raw and ugly and messy, but real, the realist thing I've ever known."

Holy fuck. I read this book this book so fast. It has a Shameless vibe, which is one my favorite shows. Misfit family full of love, strength and loyalty. Caitlin is so selfless. I had Gabe's "secret" pegged pretty early on. When it is fully revealed in book #2, I am hoping it does not emotional slap me upside the head.

Cliffhanger - yes (book #1 of series)

Wow! This book is one incredible, adrenaline fueled ride, the whole way through. One of the best books I've gotten to read, this has some heady, powerful stuff in it. It's also got some wonderfully touching family moments in it. Then, it ends on a cliffhanger that had me yelling out at the injustice of those two words, The and End.

Caitlin Cooney is raising her brothers and her niece while working two jobs and trying to deal with an alcoholic father who is making it all the more difficult. But every once in a while, she gets to forget her life and go dancing. Just let loose.

Rich, privileged, Gabe Alexander sees her dancing and decides to cut in. When they both remember each other she takes off, but he's outsmarted he and once he's in her car he has an interesting proposition for her. He offers her a way to pay the taxes on the house to keep her family together, but it's not legal in the slightest.

That's the problem with this bad boy, he offers her some not-so-legal solutions to her problems, but with some pretty good justifications. A girl can only let the world kick her while she's down for so long. And Gabe is so hard to resist. It's the shocking end of this book that will have you begging for the next book...I certainly want it right now!

When bad feels so, so right…

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – this author could write a shopping list and it would instantly become sexy, compelling and emotional. I would probably cry a little over turnips, she’s that good. This is not a shopping list but a well-written story of bad being good and good seeing, and loving, the good and bad. I did get misty and ache for the situation Caitlin found herself in and could not have been more shocked and amazed at how Gabe came to her rescue. Emotionally, tangibly, physically – he was her knight in shining armor, a knight that she didn’t want in her complicated life but couldn’t seem to turn away.

And Caitlin turned around and provided all the things that Gabe was missing in his life. Things he didn’t really want but couldn’t help but grab with both hands. And there are more than just these two in this increasingly complex story. Family is complicated, what an understatement, as obstacles are overcome and new ones crop up in a courtship that is deliciously unconventional and full of surprises.

Be warned, this twisty story ends in a doozy of a cliffhanger but that also means there are going to be two more instalments! And that is a very good thing…

Sweet lord. What a little action packed read. No, I don't mean all sex. There was some serious action. And ummmm.... Holy cliffhanger batman! I am seriously setting here after finishing the book saying WTF?! Yes, I knew there was going to be one... But for real?! Like that!!! AHHHHH! I may or may not have screamed out loud a bit.

These characters are seriously perfect together. I fell for Gabe instantly. Caitlyn is seriously one of the sweetest heroines ever. Her heart is on her sleeve. Her family means EVERYTHING to her. Theres absolutely no doubt about that with the sacrifices she has made. Gabe is so mysterious. I knew something was kinda going on with him. And now I KNOW there is. I just need to know what IT is.... Its breaking my heart with the way this ended. I seriously need book two ASAP!

Their chemistry is off the charts hot. But they are both holding more on their shoulders than any 20 or 21 year old ever should. Will they be strong enough to make it? Will Gabe wake up and realize he needs to come clean? Will Caitlyn be able to handle it all on her own and then some? These are all questions I NEED answers to. I NEED MORE! I NEED MORE! Okay... chant over. But seriously, read this. Its worth the anger and fifty million questions I have running through my head at the moment.

A Love So Dangerous, by Lili Valente, is the first book in a three book series, ‘To the Bone’. This story was previously published as One Wild Night and This Wicked Rush by Jessie Evans. It ends in a big cliffhanger, but no worries. The second book in the series, A Love So Deadly, should be released on September 12th, 2016 and the third book, A Love So Deep, should be released on September 26th, 2016.

In this story, Caitlin has the burden of raising her brothers and niece. She had to drop out of school in order to pay all of the bills. She is stressed out and in danger of losing it all. On her 20th birthday she goes out to celebrate… needing a night out for herself. Gabe sees Caitlin on the dance floor and is immediately drawn to her. He offers Caitlin a deal for the summer, which will benefit them both. They have a lot of chemistry which is pretty hot, but there is something not quite right about Gabe. Oh, and then there is her best friend Isaac… who does not like Gabe at all!

A Love So Dangerous is filled with drama, passion, adventure, and one seriously bad boy! If you enjoy reading stories that contain these elements… you will love this book! **ARC was received in exchange for an honest review*
