Packs of the Pacific Northwest #1-3

Packs of the Pacific Northwest Box Set

Rate this book
I never imagined the drama that would ensue once Dwight stepped into my life.

All I wanted to do was to make a name for myself--to claim my little piece of the pie--and buy the neighborhood bar I’ve been working at for the last few years. Little did I know that I’d be attracting the Wolf Brotherhood into my life.

They want to stake their claim on my bar, but just because they’re the most feared werewolf biker pack in Portland doesn’t mean that I’ll just roll over and let them have what they want--not without a fight.

Well, I went a little too far one night and really ticked them off, and now Dwight has this twisted plan to stage my death to get the ‘Brotherhood off my back. He’s my maker, and my lover, so I should be able to trust him--and God, there’s just something about the fire in his touch that makes my troubles melt away; something about his deep, alluring gaze that pulls me in every time--but Dwight also happens to be a member of the ‘Brotherhood...

Now my sister Sera is getting roped in on the drama, and they'd better not lay a finger on her. Rumor has it, she’s teamed up with a rival pack to get to the bottom of my “death.”

They'll stop at nothing to take me out, but I'm tired of being their victim; the Wolf Brotherhood has no idea what's about to hit them.

They've messed with the wrong chick this time.

I really liked this more than I thought I would. There are some who just can’t pull off the world building you need to have for short stories. I feel like Meg did a great job not only with the world building but the characters didn’t suffer either there was enough detail for both to really suck you into this mini-series.

I very much enjoyed part one, because you think one way and you find out you’re not entirely right or wrong.
Don’t judge the book by the first part because there is so much more to the story than what happens in part 1.

Part two things really start to come together. And you need to know more, there isn’t really a lot of world-building in this part because we already have most of it from part 1.

And part three just brings it all together. I loved the characters and how they intertwine. I loved that the women are kicked butt girls who did what needed to be done. But I also loved the males that love them because they were there for them no matter what.

I also really liked the narration, I think it was well done for this book and I would listen to more.

2.25, but I'll discount the first 'book' and its rating and round up to 3.

Claimed by the Wolf Brotherhood
1*
Not a story, barely even a prologue. If I was incline to rate it on its own, as opposed to part of the boxed compilation of books 1-3 I have, it would be very low indeed. It's basically useless on its own.

Werewolf Baby Daddy
2*
Not an abysmal showing, and not outside what you'd expect from a fated mates werewolf novella. But full of shallow, undeveloped characters, insta-love, sex=relationship, no world-building, a shadow villain that you won't even know at all if you haven't read the useless-on-its-own-but-apparently-vital-this-book-so-why-is-it-seperated-out 30 page prequel, Claimed by the Wolf Brotherhood, and a cliffhanger. So, not a real winner but again there is a whole sub-genre of just this sort of pared-down stories that some people seem to like. I was pretty meh about the whole thing and bitter about the 30 page "book 1."

For the record, the audio version was an hour and 54 minutes long. So, the book can't be 880 pages as listed.

The Wolf Pack's Revenge
2.5, round up to 3*
Better than the first two "books." I put that in quotation marks because "book 1" isn't a book by any definition I can imagine and I'm irritated by this trend authors seem to be developing of publishing teasers without accurately labeling them as such. But none of these stories stand alone, so I can't just pretend it didn't exist. Either way, The Wolf Pack's Revengeis an improvement. The writing is better and it was a more complete story than either of the previous stories. The characters were still shallow, though I have to admit to liking how caring the heroes are (no alpha A-holes). The plot was still thin. But it is still only a novella, so what can I expect. All in all, ok if you like this sort of pared down story. Veronica Holly did a fine job with the narration. I noticed a couple more hiccups than usual, buy not enough to really bother me.

strong female leads.

I really enjoyed this box set. It was more like a continuous long book than a series. It had a lot of twists and turns and some good original ideas regarding turned wolves. The best thing was the strong female characters. Even when Aiza was under mind control her own personality broke through. I also enjoyed that I read it on Unlimited at the same time I listened on Audible. I had never done that before but enjoyed doing so immensely. Well worth both the read and the listen.

Packs was a good story because Aiza's story was very similar to what I was recently going through at the time that I read this book. Obviously, I'm not a wolf (yet?!), so I'm speaking on the dynamic in Aiza's relationship with Dwight. This was a well-developed plot that spoke on the importance of family, love, and forgiveness. I would love to know what happens next with this gang. If you are looking for a good but easygoing read, this is your book. If you are looking for someone to root for, this is definitely your book!

Book 1: This story made me so angry at Dwight & Aisa. It introduced the main characters and some background to set you up for books 2 & 3.

Book 2: Loved Sera & Seth's adventure!! Full of drama & sexiness! Fell in love with both characters & Stephanie as well.

Book 3: Absolutely loved Noah in this story (sweet, loving and protective). Got a better understanding of Aisa. Didn't hate her in this story. She redeemed herself. Yay! Wonderful ending!!

Surprise!! X 3!!

These 3 books are a story of betrayal, treachery, unexpected love, pack tradition, revenge, and eventually a HEA. Aiza's life is finally the way she planned.....until the Wolf Brotherhood showed up. Her sister, Sera, has her life under control also. Until her sister dies unexpectedly and she goes to find out what happened. It just gets even more complicated after that! The twists and turns keep you glued to the pages.

Awesome

About 3 stories of wolves who meet their mates, two are brothers and one is their cousin . All are ready to meet their mates and their destiny. About a werewolf biker gang taking over a bar after a supposedly death of human who owned it and her werewolf bf who turned her, he wanted her bar and her complete control

Mainly ‘Meh’ I had no strong dislike, but then it barely held my attention. A series of three connected very short novellas which make up a rather lacklustre shortish novel. The narration was pedestrian and the characters pretty basic. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t good. Will definitely return it for another audible credit.

I started reading this and so far I might have the plot or do I? This writer is telling a story of bits and pieces in Book #1 by the time I was at the end, I had to read Book #2. Oh boy believe me it's really getting exciting and bloody now. Yep, Book #3 here I come.. Unbelievable this lady hit everything Adventure, Betrayal, Death, Fear, Lust, Mentally Abusive, Mind Control, Trust and best of all Love. Omg Yes I definitely recommend this series, thank goodness I got the series too I would have died reading one at a time. Also note I left out a whole bunch. You betcha this is a MUST READ.

**3.5 Fiery Hearts!**

*I received this book free from the author in exchange for an honest review*

Claimed by The Wolf Brotherhood:
This is basically just an intro into the characters and storyline.

Aiza is a stubborn bar owner who doesn't want to pay the brotherhood 'for protection'. After two brotherhood bodies fall in her and Dwight's wake she finds out her maker hadn't been completely honest with her.

Dwight gives off major scumbag warning lights. He's basically using Aiza as his own personal zombie bride and she doesn't even know it thanks to the powers he has over her.

For such a short book it surprised me that the continuity is off. She's naked from the transformation, but then he lifts her skirt, oh and then she's naked again and discovers her clothes were shredded when she had to turn into a wolf. So how was there a skirt to lift?

There's not a lot of depth to the characters so it's difficult to care about any of them, but it's the start of the series so hopefully it'll get better.

It leaves off on a cliffhanger as Dwight turns Aiza against her own sister in order to save what's left of his plans.

**** **** ****

Werewolf Baby Daddy:
Sera is Aiza's sister and she's comes to town because she thinks her sister's 'death' was murder and not an accident. She wants to get to the bottom of it and not even her own safety will stop her.

Seth is in town looking for his missing pack mates when Sera literally stops him in his tracks. And by stops I mean she hits him with her car.

Deciding to work together since they're both looking into the same brotherhood Sera and Seth become close...and fast. I mean it's not title Werewolf Baby Daddy for nothing.

They discover the deceit Dwight told and that Aiza is still alive, but she wasn't exactly dishing out the sisterly love. And with Sera having to worry about her own child now, she has to put herself first.

Prepared for the fallout but feeling it's unlikely Seth will turn his focus to making an honest woman out of the one he loves. The rest we'll have to discover in book three, The Wolf Pack's Revenge.

**** **** ****

The Wolf Pack's Revenge:
Book three merges Aiza, Noah, Seth, and Sera's stories together.

It picks up right where Werewolf Baby Daddy left off... Aiza wakes up after the fight at the cabin to discover Dwight dead. She's lost and running when Noah shows up offering a little kindness and hospitality.

Sera and Seth just want their happily ever after, but when a tragedy puts a hitch in their wedding plans and the brotherhood interferes with their family everyone will come furiously together to end them once and for all.

Aiza will take back what was once hers and she'll finally open her heart to the one who truly owns it, Noah.

The Wolf Pack's Revenge gives you a little more depth into the characters and is by far the best of the three. It ties up all the loose ends in a neat little box with a happily ever after bow on top.

I received this book to give an honest review.

So I am not sure how to rate this book as I am between a three and a four. At times it really pulled me in and then at other times I was just like oh okay.
We start the book off with Azia who is a bar owner in Portland. When she is attacked because she just won't bend to the Brotherhoods will like everyone else she finds herself in a situation that has her faking her own death. Her lover Dwight seems shady as heck and didn't seem to care too much on calming her sister down when her sister comes into play. Though we are left with a cliffhanger with Azia and Dwight.
Fast Forward Azia's sister Sera who has come looking into this death of her sister, finds out her sister's secret though while doing that she finds herself in the sights of this Brotherhood. When she teams up with Seth we see the sparks fly between them and this leads to a match that well leads us to the title of the second book Werewolf Baby Daddy. Seth is willing to help Sera but he also wants her to be safe. In this novella we also meet his other alpha half Stephanie. A major fight goes down and we don't know who is truly alive until the next story.
In book three Aiza feels bad on how she was brainwashed and is determined to be close to her sister again. Though while helping the werewolf police with their investigation she finds herself being drawn into the man who is protecting her. Will Aiza allow herself to be happy and fall in what seems to be love? Who knows. I really liked book three as everything comes together and of course we got our h.a.e which was good.

Now there were somethings that bothered me with the book.
1. At times it felt just plan rushed with Aiza and what she was dealing with. Not to mention the sudden rush of attraction between Sera and Seth.
2. The author was not on point with descriptions of things. So when Aiza turned her clothes were shredded, then all of a sudden Dwight lifted up her skirt? Wait how did that happen? You got to be on point with simple things.
3. The sex scenes now mind you they were hot but some how Aiza's scenes seemed more hotter than Sera not sure how that happened.
4. Stephanie so I am not sure about her being an alpha. At times she came off as an alpha but then other times she just was willing to jump into the middle of things without thinking what could happen. Especially the scene with Seth on the lookout for Dwight.
5. There were a couple of misspellings of words. Like pavement was payment and look was luck.
If you like werewolves then I suggest you try this book out. You may enjoy it.

I received the Packs of the Pacific Northwest anthology as a free ebook copy. The gifting did not determine the review/rating, which reflects my honest opinion. I was in the mood for werewolves, so I bumped this book up my TBR when I had an unexpected opening.

This novella set includes three inter-related short stories (more like installments of a serial, due to their abbreviated length and unresolved endings) about two sisters who become embroiled in sinister activities of the Wolf Brotherhood pack. While I enjoyed Sera's character, I disliked Aiza and never grew to like her. Sera was level-headed and focused on finding out what happened to her sister who "died" due to mysterious circumstances. Aiza, by comparison was self-centered (evident mostly in the third book, as there were extenuating circumstances in book one -- I don't want to spoil the plot by being specific), when Aiza, who faked her death in book one, is finally reunited with her sister she insists on putting herself in danger, to redeem herself. Unfortunately, Aiza doesn't take into account the ramifications if she's caught or used as a hostage.

The overall plot was good, but be aware, there are large holes in the story's logic-- if you're nerdy about unresolved threads or things falling too conveniently in place, you may find yourself a tad annoyed in places. I will say, the story kept my interest and I was curious how things would be resolved, which rounded up this 3.5 read to a 4. The interesting male characters made the book(s) for me, and I also liked the group dynamic for the Yakima pack.

REVIEW
Two sisters, Two different wolf packs.
Aiza owns a bar that is now frequented by a bunch of rough wolves. Dwight the leader or is he? Well, she adores him, and they get involved. He tries to protect her, but that doesn't turn out so well. She is losing everything because of the brotherhood.
Sera is happily involved with Seth. He is the Alpha of his pack but a really good man and Alpha.
Aiza will have to battle for everything and find her way back to what family she has left. Can Sera forgive her?
There are three hot stories in this set. The first one didn't really grab me, but the last two were worth the read, give ya action, and a whole lot of hotness. If you like shifters with some bite, this would be a good series for you.

This is a very hot steamy read that is filled with hot guys and strong females at times I was really pulled in turning pages to find out what was going to happen. I just love a story with strong females that know how to get what they want. When Azia gets attacked she won’t give in and won’t take it lying down. When things get a little too heavy her death is staged. I am not too sure what I think of Dwight but he is alpha all the way.

Sera Azia's sister wants to know what happen now she is in the sights of the brotherhood. She meets Seth sparks fly with leaves us with some very entertaining reading. Seth is alpha all the way he know how to take care of a women. He does want to help her but still plans on keeping her safe. Azia is very pulled in to Seth but with the issues with her sister can these two work things out?

This is filled with nonstop action. The author gives a very highly entertaining read that pulls the reader in. You will be left with question after each book but book 3 pulls it all together. These stories flow easy into the next one, keeping your attention and sucking you in with vivid details that the author writes that stick with you.

I thought this was well written, filled with action with wonderful characters you can relate to. It is very easy to fall in love with each character. I think most will enjoy this outstanding series.

Loved this series

I enjoyed this book set series nice how each story was entwined with the past one. It starts up with Aiza buying a bar and the wolf brotherhood want her to pay “taxes” she refuses and gets into trouble Dwight her maker arranges for her to disappear faking her death that then leads onto next story about
Sera who doesn’t believe her sisters death was an accident she is asking too mant questions and the brotherhood doesn’t like it. Sera literally runs into Seth who is also a wolf shifter and an alpha who is looking for 2 of his pack brothers when Sera hits him with her car. They join up looking for her sister and his 2 pack brothers. Both end up in danger Seth takes Sera out of town to keep her safe but Sera ends up being taken captive when their car crashes and her sister Aiza tries to kill her. Aiza has been under mind influence from Dwight her maker making her want to kill her sister. This then leads to a massive fight and leaving Aiza injured or dead at the safe house. This leads onto the last instalment about Noah who comes to Azia help when she crashes a pick up truck leaving the safe house injured. Noah asks Azia for her help and testament on the brotherhood and all information about them that she has. Turn of events end up with a kidnapping reunion of two sisters and love.

3.5 to 4 stars - Marked by Werewolves by Meg Ripley and narrated by Veronica Holly is a 3 story series of novellas. The story is rushed and there is not a lot of background building or story at first. The story gets better by the third novella, and I wished the author had spent more time developing the characters and the Longtail pack story lines. Stephanie was a very interesting character, and I would have liked to have known more about her. I was taken in by Aiza and Noah and wish more had been developed there. Possibly there will be more stories in this series that will develop these story lines. Ms. Holly did a good job with the narration although I thought that, at times, she spoke very quickly. She did a good job distinguishing the characters' voices and brought excitement to the story. This is a new author and new narrator to me and I would listen to more of their work. I was given a free copy of this story for an honest review.
