Absolutely hilarious! "Wolf Mates" includes 4 stories by Dakota Cassidy and is published by Changeling Press. All four of these stories will have you gasping for breath, from either the passion or the humor that both run throughout each of the stories.
An American Werewolf in Hoboken - Max is the Alpha of his 'special' pack. They're definitely not the norm as they have the only gay werewolf, another werewolf who keeps rabbits as pets, and his grandmother Eva who reads prophecies in soup! And her latest prophecy is what's sent him to Hoboken, to the pound, about to be fried in the doggy electric chair or whatever they use to get rid of unadoptable animals. Then SHE walks in...and life takes a turn for the better...until she poofs his hair and names him...FLUFFY?
What's New Pussycat? - Oh no, there's no way Derrick's mate is a cat. Granted, he's quite the playboy, but still...a cat? A pampered, Manhattan, caviar eating cat? He'll just see about that!
Moon Over Manhasset - Julia is a she-wolf in charge. She doesn't spend much time with her nutty pack, she's too busy making money at her pet boutique. When the investment counselor shows up at her shop to discuss his plans to make her more of the lovely green stuff, they're both shaken by the instrant attraction. Julia quickly decides to take him to bed, or table, chair, wall, anything! She just hopes her tail doesn't pop out and freak him out until he's done! After some incredibly hot sex, a tail does pop out...but it's not hers, its his! And he's a lion!!!
Ruff & Ready - Emerson and Lassiter had always been the best of friends when they were children. They played in the woods and watched out for the animals. Emerson's werewolf nature was a 'family' secret. Of course, she didn't know that Lassiter had a secret too, well actually two secrets. When they meet again as adults, their passion is undeniable. But their secrets...well vampires and werewolves and parakeets. Curious? Read the book yourself!
Loved every one of these stories. Now I'm off to get another of Dakota Cassidy's book since I enjoyed "Wolf Mates" so much!

This is the first book I have read by Dakota Cassidy, so I really didn't know what to expect. First, let me say that this is a 4 story anthology all wrote by Ms. Cassidy. The stories are all related, and have to do with a very open minded family of werewolves.
There is a very funny mix of couples that hook up throughout this book.
Werewolf and Human- She found him in the pound
Werewolf and Cat-Shapeshifter
Werewolf and Lion-Shapeshifter
Werewolf and Vampire/Shapeshifter
This book had some very steamy scenes as well as laugh out loud moments.
If you are offended by strong language and explict sexual relations, this book is not for you.
If you are looking for a fun, steamy read this book IS for you!

With the upcoming re-release of the stories from "Wolf Mates", I decided to go pull my original book and re-read them. This lovely compilation is a group of 4 stories with common ground: they are about an unlikely group of werewolves that are prophesied to find their lifemates...no matter who or what they are(giggles are appropriate at this time). Dakota wrote and published the shorts in 2006. And these tales NEED to be enhanced. So saying, Dakota is going to flesh each into a book by itself, starting with "An American Werewolf in Hoboken". Be prepared to fall in love, get your laughter revved up and admire the wit(and potty sayings) charged, for you are about to meet the Adams family/pack.

One day I decided to go to Half Price Books (the book Store) I saw this book and was attracted to it, I walked away to search for other books I had gone there to find but at the end of the day I was reeled back in and picked up the book and couldn't wait to get it home and start reading. Start reading I did, everyone of the stories leaves you wanting more, wanting to know what will happen in the next story. You won't find any better then these wonderful stories all rolled into one book

I'm actually only half way through this book. I've read the first two stories. They are light and enjoyable but nothing out of the box. I'll get around to the next two if only so I can put the book away. Not a 'keeper' in my mind.

Love this collection of novella. Came to the end and wished there was more. I wonder what took me so long to get these considering I love Dakota's books??? Will be reading more of her backlisted books :)

I liked the 1st 2 stories. The 3rd was ok. Didn't finish the last because was upset about not being of someone from the earlier stories. Maybe I'll go back and read it sometime but not right now.
