The Truth about Cancer: What You Need to Know about Cancer's History, Treatment, and Prevention

Rate this book
Cancer touches more lives than you may think. According to the World Health Organization, one out of three women alive today, and one out of two men, will face a cancer diagnosis in their lifetime. To Ty Bollinger, this isn’t just a statistic. It’s personal. After losing seven members of his family to cancer over the course of a decade, Ty set out on a global quest to learn as much as he possibly could about cancer treatments and the medical industry that surrounds the disease. He has written this book to share what he’s uncovered—some of which may shock you—and to give you new resources for coping with cancer in your life or the life of someone you love.As Ty explains, there are many methods we can access to treat and prevent cancer that go well beyond chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery; we just don’t know about them. The Truth about Cancer delves into the history of medicine—all the way back to Hippocrates’s credo of “do no harm”—as well as cutting-edge research showing the efficacy of dozens of unconventional cancer treatments that are helping patients around the globe. You’ll read about the politics of cancer; facts and myths about its causes (a family history is only part of the picture); and the range of tools available to diagnose and treat it.If you’re facing a cancer diagnosis right now, this book may help you and your health-care provider make choices about your next steps. If you’re already undergoing conventional treatment, it may help you support your health during the course of chemo or radiation. If you’re a health-care provider and want to learn all you can to help your patients, it will expand your horizons and inspire you with true stories of successful healing. And if you just want to see cancer in a new light, it will open your eyes.

Ty Bollinger is a happily married husband, the father of four wonderful children, devoted Christian, highly regarded book author, medical researcher, health freedom advocate, former competitive bodybuilder and also a certified public accountant.

Why I wrote this book:

During the last 15 years, I’ve lost 7 close family members due to cancer. I have devoted the last decade of my life to medical research to find alternative cancer treatments and cures so YOU and YOUR family don’t have to experience the same tragedy. I have summarized this voluminous amount of research on natural cancer treatments in my book, Cancer-Step Outside the Box.

Ty is not a medical doctor (see disclaimer).

I wish I could give this book zero stars. I bought this book when I was just buying books before without any mindfulness of what the book was/who the author was/what it was about and I'm really mad I spent any money on this. It was so hard to actually force myself to finish this one. I can not believe this book has a 4+ star rating. This man begins with a "history of medicine" but only seems to include western thinkers as if the whole eastern tradition of medicine doesn't exist and then goes on to complain about western medicine, like give me a break. There are some truths through out the book, like the pharmaceutical companies greed but that doesn't invalidate the science. Also I looked the author up after reading this, he's an antivaxxer conspiracy theorist who has gotten in trouble for running MLMs. People please, I understand science is slow and flawed but it doesn't mean we don't have evidence based treatments for cancer. Cancer also just has multiple pathways and is complicated, and sure life style changes should be a part of prevention and treatment but this book is not advocating for that. I can not believe we live in a world where people can just spout of on things and cherry pick and then spread misinformation that can cause people harm. Also can people please stop using the term toxins, what the fuck do they even mean when they say that. Please pick up a book on cancer by an actual biologist not someone trying to grift and sell you supplements.

This book changed my life. Here is a copy of the review I posted to my blog:

How have you been impacted by cancer? In today's world it's no longer IF but HOW.

I've had two grandparents diagnosed with cancer. And I've also stood by as a number of family friends have passed away from it.

The author of The Truth About Cancer -- Ty Bollinger -- lost SEVEN family members including both of his parents to their battles with cancer over the course of a decade, and thought, "enough is enough!" He set out on a global quest to learn as much as he possibly could about cancer treatments and the medical industry that surrounds the disease. He then wrote this book to share what he discovered.

One in 3 women and 1 in 2 men alive today will receive a cancer diagnosis. That is INSANE. Especially considering that the earliest evidence of its existence dates back to only about the 17th century. And before the 1950s, cancer was exceptionally rare compared to now. The number of people diagnosed with cancer has increased -- just like autism and other diseases have in the past 50 years -- EXPONENTIALLY just as the amount of chemical and industrial toxins in our food, air, and the products we use have increased.

When I go to the grocery store, I assume that the food and products available to me are all relatively safe to consume and use. But what I've come to learn is that much of it can be categorized as poison. The unfortunate truth is that we can't rely on agencies that are supposed to be screening products and food to protect us. As much as we'd like to think these agencies want the best for the American people, when the rubber meets the road, like many things, it's all about money. We have to take our health into our own hands. And now that I know from what I've learned in this book that cancer is largely PREVENTABLE -- not largely genetic -- I can do just that. I feel empowered.

Cancer is such a feared word in our society, but it doesn't need to be. There is so much more to be known about what causes cancer and how we can prevent and treat it than we are hearing from the media and the medical industry. This book reveals all of it.

Which brings me to another thought that kept cropping up as I worked my way through this amazing read -- Why is it so hard for us as humans to make changes in our lives? I hate that about myself. I want to be more flexible and willing to alter course when new information is revealed. This book has motivated me to make changes. And even though it's been a bit overwhelming to process and implement all of this new revelation, it's also been easy at the same time. Because when the truth clicks in my brain, it's somehow easier to make the effort to alter habits that are largely based on inertia and "how I've always done things."

For me this book went beyond just the scope of cancer -- it helped me to understand disease and health at large as well as what is broken in our society. And I think that's what happened for the author as he went on his mission of discovery. He set out to understand one disease, but what he ended up stumbling upon is more of a systemic issue that explains so much more than just cancer.

Even though the title of this book is a bit foreboding, what I found in it's pages left me feeling so HOPEFUL. Because now I know that there are concrete things I can do and changes I can make to impact my future.

I'm still on my journey to implement action points from this book. For me this journey of discovery has become a lifestyle change. And I'm taking it one step at a time. But each step feels SO GOOD. I could write a whole series of blog posts on the changes I've already made and those I hope to implement, but here is a brief look into just a few:

1. Nutrition
I used to think of nutrition in narrow terms, mostly relating to weight and how I look. But I now know that much of what we call "food" today is more of a conglomeration of chemicals that our bodies can't digest. I had a vague sense that GMOs and pesticides were bad for me, but now I know why that is and that they are largely responsible for the increase in infertility, tumors, dementia, allergies, and so many other chronic ailments that our generation is facing. Nutrition is EVERYTHING. So I've changed my diet a bit. Sprouts has become my favorite grocery story and I purchase non-GMO and organic whenever possible.

2. Toxins
Seventy-five percent of the air we breathe has pesticides in it. Pesticides are in our urine, our blood, and our amniotic fluid. They're wreaking havoc on our bodies, and that's only one of tens of thousands of toxins we are exposed to every day. Our world has become increasingly toxic and it's no wonder disease has sky-rocketed. Many of these toxins are things that I can't prevent exposure to. So if I can avoid some of them, I am determined to do so. I've cleaned out my laundry room, pantry, bathrooms, and linen closets of the products that are toxic. I've stopped taking toxic medications. And I've found alternative products or solutions to replace the needs they were filling. I've switched all of my cleaning and laundry supplies to Norwex. And I found an amazing skin care and make-up solution in BeautyCounter -- a company that is fighting to change legislation in the cosmetic industry. I found a great app that allows you to find out how dangerous the ingredients in different food and cosmetic products are -- the EWG Healthy Living App. SO helpful. You can even use it at the grocery store to scan bar codes and get instant results.

There's a long list of changes I've made and more things I'm going to look into, but this post is getting pretty long, and the main thing I hope to communicate is that this book is LIFE-CHANGING. It's the best book I read in 2016 and I can't recommend it highly enough! Click here to order your copy today! And I can't wait to hear what you think in the comments below!

Here's to making 2017 your best year yet!

I don't agree with everything the author believes but I found this a very interesting read. Like anything, you need to read it in balance with a lot of other information. We don't really learn anything if we only are willing to listen to people who say things we already believe. Anybody who gives it one star or five is most likely reacting from a camp and is only rating it to reinforce their own belief systems.

I enjoyed reading about all kinds of treatments and do think he has a lot of good points. I learned a fair bit and also have no interest in a fair bit. It made for a good read once I finally got around to reading it, though.

I read a digital ARC of this book via Net Galley.

I thoroughly engaged with the first part of the book on the history of medicine, but I had a few issues later on.

1) Vaccines - how does the author credit the vast reduction of viruses in modern society without vaccination?
2) The frequent references to God and religion were jarring in a book about medicine.
3) The cancer fighting properties of a plant-based diet were hardly acknowledged, let alone discussed. Also, the research on soy and the links to breast cancer are out-dated.

Overall, an interesting take on the epidemic of cancer. I will be referring back to this book. A solid 3.5 stars.

This book reads like an info-mercial - written by a former body builder who just happens to be part owner of a mail order company selling herbal supplements. He eschews all forms of conventional medicine in diagnosing and treating cancer. One of the doctors he recommends has a clinic in North Carolina and states on her website that all patients must be willing to take between 100 and 120 supplements per day. In other words, don't waste my time if you aren't willing to eat pills instead of food.

Out of 318 pages, he dedicates 1 1/2 pages to healthy nutrition and lifestyle. Thank goodness this is a library book. Enough said.

I do think this book represents a worldview superior to that of the existing medical paradigm, but it seems the advocates of alternative treatments have no sense of boundaries. The book lends credence to practically every available alternative treatment on the planet, and is so broad in focus that it becomes confusing and dilutes its impact. That, coupled with hostility to technology that has richly benefited mankind, lowers the book in my estimation. Key things I look for in these types of works are reasonableness and hard data, which are hard to come by. This book isn't bad, but it isn't great either.

After watching the documentary with the the same title, I found it necessary to read this book. It's a personal and completing journey of one man, how cancer has plagued his life, and what he did about it. An approach unlike any other. A great companion would be any webinar or book by Dr. Josh Axe.

I'm very disappointed with this book, as I was looking forward to reading more about this topic. This reading experience was further proof to me that you have to apply your critical thinking skills every time you read or watch something. Not everything that is written or shown can be taken as universal truth (I'm very sensitive to this ever since I started my masters degree)... The things that I found problematic was not necessarily the stand that the author took to write from, as I do believe that it is necessary to critique the pharmaceutical industry publicly. However, I found that the author used outdated research that only proved his point. We're talking 1990's and this book was published in 2016! So you cannot expect me to believe that newer research wasn't published on the discussed topics. Another big problem was that this is a Christian non-fiction book, meaning that the author openly shares and forms opinions based on their religious beliefs, which is problematic while writing about science. Lastly, I really did not enjoy reading about the authors misinformed views on vaccinations. This was a really big red flag for me, so I would not recommend you wasting time while reading this and look for a better read about cancer (if anyone has any recommendations, please let me know!).

Currently I am reading this book and to cross check the fact about Hoxsey therapy, I googled about it and found that Hoxsey himself died due to Prostate Cancer and his own treatment didn't worked for him. Author might know about this as it is publicly available information. Then question arises why author is hiding this fact from readers. He should mentioned about it in his book.

The author is well-known and he has several affiliations with products and clinics which treat cancer. In this book he states that cancer is fully curable and fully preventable. He goes on to reveal the exact treatment protocol for most cancers and warns the patient to stay away from surgery, chemo, or radiation treatment.
The reason for my rating of this book is mostly because there are many gaps in the argument when it comes to choosing one treatment over the other. As a western medicine trained physician I have the luxury of not needing to recommend chemo or radiation over alternative approaches - that's the patient's job. But I couldn't go as far as to poo-poo all of western medicine and claim that all the doctors are out for money. And if I did I wouldn't turn around and site a bunch of research studies done by western physicians as a way to prove my point. It's just confusing for the reader.
It's not a 1-star book because it's written really well. This is incredibly effective sales tactics and if you're someone facing a cancer diagnosis it'll win you over. The book is entertaining and it goes to show that you can make money anyway you like in medicine. We've certainly seen scoundrels in western medicine who have taken advantage of patients and pharmaceuticals which have misrepresented what drugs really can do.
Cancer is in fact a diagnosis that will get you closer to death but so are many other diseases such as heart disease which takes more people every year. The fear about cancer is because we don't have a healthy culture around it and the western medical community tries to "fight" the cancer instead of helping the patient first build a healthy relationship with such a disease and then educate and empower the patient.
In many aspects, western medicine doesn't do any better of a job of poo-pooing alternative medicine as this book does to western medicine. The truth is in the middle, perhaps. If you prefer to try alternative approaches then you should be able to do that and feel that you are supported in doing so. That's what happens when you label things western/alternative/holistic, etc.
Some content in the book is really powerful - such as eating a healthy diet and certain fasting techniques or macro adjustments to starve out glucose-based metabolism of certain malignant cell lines.

A fantastic book that covers cancer causes, prevention and cures, from an alternative standpoint, which is right up my street. Very well put together book that doesn’t feel overwhelming, yet is cram packed full of information. Will definitely read more from this author.

I wish I could give this book 3.5 stars. It pushed the alternative ideas for cancer treatment way too much. However, I loved that the author traveled to places and met people who give these alternative treatments and that he wrote about each of them (even though some sound crazy). When we are in our darkest hours of disease or struggle, having other available options gives hope and may be our relief or cure. Alternative medicine has helped me and my family a great deal... but I also feel there is a place for western medicine and being under a doctor's care.

There is undoubtedly a need for us to rethink how we deal with cancer, and "The Truth About Cancer" does precisely that, covering alternative approaches to prevention, and cure. The book also describes the conventional treatments (chemotherapy, radiation and surgery) offered to cancer suffers and problems with them.

I have been following the "The Truth About Cancer" series for some time now, and this book supplements it nicely. Also, I have incorporated many of the ideas on nutrition and diet into my lifestyle.
I would recommend this work to others.

Full of informative information about alternative medicine and therapies that can help conquer cancer. I have followed his Truth About Cancer Facebook page for a few years, and have always been intrigued by alternative medicine. This is a must read by anyone who is diagnosed or wanting to know more about natural healing. However, if you aren't ready to question conventional medicine, this isn't for you. If you are, you MUST read this book!

I don't even know where to begin with this book. I have gained so much knowledge from reading this. And no, you do not have to have cancer, or know somebody with cancer to read this book. Prevention.

Sure, most things are not truly preventable. We have to pay taxes every April 15th, you can't prevent that, sadly. But you can prevent most cancers from entering your life just by doing the right things. This book helps with that.

I'm thankful to have found Ty Bollinger.

First part of the book was great and very enlightening. It nicely describes the history of medical education. The book explains how conventional medicine became heavily drug-based and how other previous conventional forms of medicine became alternative medicine.
Second half of the book made me lose respect for the author as he clearly showed his lack of understanding of scientific literature. There’s a lot I could critique but mainly he uses very old sources and those sources do not back up his main claims. For example, he talks about chemotherapy inducing cancer stem cells. He references an “article” which is not really a scientific paper but rather is merely a published untested hypothesis.

There was a lot of useful information in this book, and I appreciate the perspective. It's a valuable tour through different approaches to preventing and healing cancer, and it gives me a place to start in thinking about how to tackle a diagnosis. It's worth a read, though I didn't watch the accompanying documentary which may be a reasonable replacement.

However, in the latter half of the book especially, I just found myself deeply uneasy about listening to Ty Bollinger's opinions. Like, he seems to have really done a lot of authentic research and that's great, but I felt a bit skeptical every time he listed an italicized hyperlink to a product he sells. And it makes sense for him to do that two or three times, it really does, because he's been in the field for years so of course he's got some skin in the game at this point, and so it wouldn't have made an impact on me by itself.

But it was also this thing he does in the back half of the book where every single chapter is "the key" to curing cancer. Nutrition? Key to curing cancer. Oxygen? Key to murdering cancer cells. Detoxing? Key to sweeping cancer from your body. Light therapy? Key to making your very blood cancer's enemy. Enzymes? Key to giving your body the tools it needs to wage war upon cancer. It just kind of felt like everything was KEY and VITAL and THE ANSWER and so it felt overwhelmingly unhelpful. It was like someone just doing a survey of all available technology but in a way that was like reading 100 pages of the last five minutes of a TED Talk. I was tired by the end and had no idea where to actually start.

I guess you start by finding a doctor who will help you, because most of this stuff isn't actually available to the vast majority of people. And then you find out if that doctor is actually legit and if they are actually going to use the procedures as outlined or eventually just push you into chemo as Bollinger warns many hospitals do. The book is aiming for a hopeful tone, but I found it didn't make me feel particularly optimistic because I felt like I was being sold a bunch of things by someone who really wanted to be a hero for selling it to me.

This is all vibes, I think the book is a good read, I just really didn't like Bollinger very much as the narrative voice of this thing. At one point I felt like he was being snide about Colin Campbell (without mentioning him by name, of course), and that just really got my dander up. I mean, for all its issues, The China Study reads like it was written by a scientist. The Truth about Cancer reads like it was written by a journalist. That pretty much sums up my critique, I guess.

I'm going to keep using my library card to sound increasingly woo-woo to my family and whether Ty Bollinger specifically is legit or not will fade into the background of my general eccentricity in the end, so that's gonna be a solid three stars from me.

In the first part of the book the author reveals the history of how pharmaceuticals came to be: in the late 19th century Carnegie and Rockefeller devised a way to increase demand for petroleum. Most drugs are petroleum based. They stopped funding schools that taught any other type of healing besides drug-based, and those schools eventually closed. The AMA and the FDA, like many of our government sponsored "watch dogs" are not to be trusted, sadly.

The rest of the book i skimmed or did not read. the first 150 pages were a lesson. reminds me of The Dorito Effect by Mark Schatzker.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO) “Cancer is a leading cause of death and disability globally, impacting more than 14 million people each year.” Consequently, prevention is the best option available for this noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) era.

The Truth about Cancer is the attempt of Ty Bollinger to cope with losing several relatives, including his parents to cancer; he realized “the idea that our modern medical system is actually trying to cure disease and keep people healthy is nothing but smoke and mirrors.”

Part I of The Truth about Cancer explains the history of medicine and the politics of cancer. Ty Bollinger presents “the true and lost history of medicine, and the ways in which this former art form was hijacked by special interests and turned into a profit-generating machine.”

Part II of The Truth about Cancer deals with cancer diagnosis, detection, causes, and prevention.

What’s cancer? “Cancer, in essence, can be summed up as a failure of the immune system to eradicate abnormal cells before they take root and become full-blown cancer.” Moreover, Dr. Leonard Coldwell explains “Cancer is the cure. People don’t understand that. Cancer is there to save your life. When your body is so toxic that you are going to die of the poison, the body builds a bag and stuff all the poison in there and locks it up-the tumor.”

The approach to prevent and/or reverse disease deals with different aspects as: “minimizing exposure to toxins; eating a clean diet*; exercising (and sweating!) regularly; minimizing stress; and maintaining healthy relationships.”

Bollinger gathered treatments that differ from the standard procedure of chemotherapy, radiation and surgery so anyone can make a choice after knowing all the different protocols available, and create a personalized treatment with their physicians according to their needs. For example:

Thermograms are “a safe, side effect-free alternative to mammograms” using infrared heat to “detect physiological abnormalities indicative of a possible breast cancer diagnosis.”

Human Chorionic gonadotropin (HCG) urine immunoassay, “Thousands of cancer survivors have used this test over the years to keep track of their treatments(s) success and check the status of their remission.”

ONCOblog test, “is capable of revealing a cancer’s organ(s) of origin with about 96 percent of accuracy.”

Part III of The Truth about Cancer covers treatment protocols, such as:

Herbal remedies, Detoxification, and Diet.
Sound, light, electricity, Frequency and Heat.
Bio-oxidative therapies.
Treating Cancer with Viruses and Essential Oils.
Enzyme and metabolic/mitochondrial therapy.

Ty Bollinger message is to “adopt a holistic, anticancer lifestyle that supports the health of the three primary components that make up a human being: mind, body, and spirit.” However, the book focuses mainly on body treatments.

The documentary The Truth about Cancer: A Global Quest covers more information, and the visuals make it more powerful than the book, but still the book is useful as a quick reference guide.

The Truth about Cancer has a Facebook account and a web page for more information.

*Considering a clean diet, besides what the book presents, my first resource about diet is from Dr. John McDougall, Dr. Neal Barnard, and Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn.

A really eye opening read. Cancer is very much a 'modern disease' with half of all men and a third of all women being diagnosed at some point in their life. It touches all of us in some way and what this book does is really do a deep dive on the origins of prevention and treatment.

I reckon we give too much control over our health and bodies to the medical community and while I'm not saying we should completely ignore the advice of doctors who may or may not be getting paid on how many patients they sign up for expensive chemotherapy treatment (which has been found to, if anything, encourage cancer growth and originally derived from mustard gas used in WWII), knowing about alternative options and how to look after yourself through prevention is well worth the read.

Highly recommend for everyone!

For those complaining about the author being an "anti-vaxxer", perhaps you should be more concerned about the fact that the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program has paid over $4 billion to those injured or killed by a vaccine.

In the United States (and other countries), historical records show that disease mortality declined nearly 90% before the introduction of the vaccine program and routine vaccination programs — as stated in the Trends in the Health of Americans report.

In fact, some of the most prevalent diseases in the early 1900s — including Tuberculosis (TB), Scarlet Fever and Typhoid — followed the same declines WITHOUT ever having a vaccine program (in the US). These diseases were nearly eradicated in the U.S. without the population being vaccinated for them because of public health improvements, implementation of which continued into the 20th century.

How is this possible? The pharmaceutical/medical industry has spent MILLIONS convincing us that vaccines saved us all from imminent disease death, but history proves this is more of a marketing tactic than a fact. A marketing tactic that helps ensure the nearly $60 BILLION vaccine market keeps growing.

If only I had read this a year ago.

My best friend of 36 years and my wife of 26 years passed away last week Friday October 8th,2021. She had read this book and became jaundiced earlier this year. I now think she knew it was caused by pancreatic cancer. On September 14th, she finally went to the hospital. By then, it was too late to seek some of these therapies. Had I read this last year, she would have.

She lived out her life on her terms and died at 61 years old.

Despite working in healthcare and having a background in nursing, I found this book wordy and difficult to remain focused on. Though I am reluctant to comment too much on the content because I did not finish it, this book reviews the history of modern medicine and focuses on an untraditional side of cancer prevention and treatment. Kudos to you if you can stay awake to read it!

Shocking... but a wonderful source of knowledge and hope

This book has to be, hands down, the most unforgettable one I've ever read in terms of the knowledge it imparted and the emotions it stirred in me. This thick volume is an astounding feat of writing. Not only does it expose the shocking truths about the nature and causes of cancer as well as the devilish greed of gigantic corporations that keeps this epidemic going, but it also provides new hope for a life without the disease.

Indeed, the most wonderful aspect of this book is the way it empowers the reader. After the shock I received from the many hidden truths documented in this book, I experienced a wonderful sense of hope. It is unbelievable how easy it seems to kill cancer once you've come to know its weaknesses. Furthermore, it is amazing to find out that simple things like the right diet and supplements, getting enough exercise, sun and oxygen, do wonders for one's healing. And, unlike the medical world's lethal cycle of "slash, poison and burn" (surgery, chemo and radiation), nature's ways have no life-threatening side effects.

I was particularly shocked to read that medical staff who do the chemo to patients often refer privately among themselves to the drug 5FU as 'five feet under' which goes to show that doctors are often not just kept in ignorance, but also, even worse, are well in the know of the death they deliver and still choose to let things run their course. This book, just like Ty Bollinger's astounding docuseries of the same name, made me experience an explosive mix of emotions. Anger and hope stand out among the rest, with the latter being the one that settled in my psyche and only strengthened in time.

I witnessed my mother undergo surgery, chemo, and radiation for 8 months last year, and I thank my lucky stars that my online research led me to discover Ty Bollinger. May God bless him for the information he is sharing with the world. I only hope he has eyes on his back as he doesn't mince his words and the medical status quo seem to be worse than the Mafia... Thanks to the advice that this author--and wonderful human being--shares in his book, my mother now has the right supplements and diet in her daily life, so she can do the best in her power to stay cancer-free.

Knowledge is what gives us power. And TY Bollinger shares it in this book in abundance. Highly recommended, not just for cancer patients and survivors, but for anyone interested to protect themselves and their loved ones. The statistics are shocking: 1 in 2 men and 1 in 3 women will be ill with cancer at some point in their lives. Therefore it has become a part of life that we cannot afford to ignore any more.

I would like to start by saying the first part of the book contained a lot of history I found interesting. That being said I feel like more time should have been spent on nutrition. Especially considering it was what all of the alternative therapies had in common. Since nutrition is so important, more fact checking should have taken place.

Some of the issues I had with the nutrition section is it was supposed to be foods that FIGHT cancer. He stated grass fed beef and other saturated fats like butter and raw milk were okay. These are all inflammatory foods that promote cancer instead of fight it. Milk is especially bad for cancer, not to mention these foods are bad for heart health and Diabetes. Scientists have been using milk protein to turn ON cancer in lab animals for decades.

His warnings against Soy foods are extremely out of date. Soy is an amazing food which helps to fight cancers, especially breast cancer. It also can reverse bone loss and a myriad of other amazing things. 3-5 servings a day will do nothing but good things for overall health.

He also dove into probiotics. This is a subject with a lot of uncertainty around it. Just taking a random probiotic is unwise since supplements are ill regulated and you never know what is in it. You may also be taking something you do not need if you have not worked with a physician on your microbiome makeup in which case they can do more harm than good.

Telling people to DRINK olive and fish oil is horrible advice. Processed oils in general harm endothelial function; this is not going to help the body to heal. Omegas can be added to the diet with nuts and seeds rather than processed oils which would be health promoting unlike the oil.

Lastly, whole grains do not cause cancer. They DO increase the good gut bacteria in your microbiome which boosts immune function. Whole grains should be part of a healthy diet unless you have an allergy to them.

I am a five year breast cancer survivor and I am healthier than ever. I did have an invasive lumpectomy with some lymph node removal, but I did not opt for the conventional treatment of chemotherapy, radiation and hormone therapy that was recommended by my conventional doctors. I had seen too many of my loved ones wither away and die from conventional treatments provided by big pharma and the cancer industry. Treatments that cause cancer with low success rates didn’t make sense to me. If I had had access to the information, much of which is in this wonderful book, prior to my surgery, I would have decided against invasive surgery as well.

Ty Bollinger’s documentary series, Cancer, the Quest for the Cures which has since been censured and removed from circulation was a contributing factor in my decision and search for alternative cancer treatments. Fortunately, I found treatments and completely changed my lifestyle. Today, I’m still alive, I couldn’t be happier and I hope to be around for a bit longer.

As I was searching for the docu series to recommend to other cancer patients, I came across this book. It’s a gem. I highly recommend reading it. There are so many treatment options available. I did many of the things recommended in this book throughout different stages of my journey and I still do many. These include dietary changes, exercise, sweating, ozone therapy, detoxification, enzyme supplementation, intermittent fasting, acupuncture, meditation and mindfulness, homeopathy, dealing with emotional stress, grounding, yoga, breath work, supplementation, screening without radiation, and other things.

Thank you, Ty, for all of the research you have done and for all of the resources you have provided. Your work and this book is so important. A cancer diagnosis is a scary thing and most people do what they’re told by their doctors. Please don’t be afraid and know that there are better options available and you can find them in this book.
