He often provides and mentions well nationalities, birth, and death dates for persons and etymologies and pronunciation guides for technical terms. Guide to Science, the tripartite set Understanding Physics, and Chronology of Science and Discovery exemplify these books.
Asimov, a long-time member, reluctantly served as vice president of Mensa international and described some members of that organization as "brain-proud and aggressive about their IQs." He took more pleasure as president of the humanist association. The asteroid 5020 Asimov, the magazine Asimov's Science Fiction, an elementary school in Brooklyn in New York, and two different awards honor his name.

3.5 stars: rlly interesting space stuff (black holes) and communication :0 though like "marching in", not too much plot/climax

Collected in The Bicentennial Man and Other Stories. Estes and Funarelli, two asteroid miners, are badly injured when tidal effects from an uncharted black hole damages them and their ship, rendering communications beyond repair. They fight to survive and call for help, using a vary familiar old fashioned system.

I'm a little bit peeved by the lack of safety regulations on asteroid mining rigs. You would think they would have to check in with base at least once every so many hours (or whatever they use for time in space) and if they didn't check in, then the base would call. And if the base didn't receive a response, they'd send out a drone/crew to check on the miners.
Then again, why would the future learn anything from the failures of past mining expeditions.
