REVIEW: 3.5 stars---HEARTS ALIGNING by Miranda Hardy is part of the multi-authored paranormal/fantasy/time travel series focusing on the town of Saint’s Grove, Virginia in the aftermath of a total lunar eclipse, and the alignment of the planets, that will open a portal to the otherworld releasing all mythical beings for an epic battle of Good versus Evil. This is bar owner Ellie Whitaker, and werewolf shifter Bryan Nichols’s story line. All books in the Saints Grove series can be read as stand alone stories without any difficulty. It is not necessary to read the series in order. The number assigned to each installment is simply the order in which they were released. HEARTS ALIGNING is a bit of a departure from some of the other installments as there is no time travel involved in the story line premise.

Told from first person point of view (Ellie) HEARTS ALIGNING focuses on the search for the truth. When the lunar eclipse portal opened in Saint’s Grove Virginia a number of strange things begin to happen to our story line heroine along with the discovery of several journals revealing a little bit about her background story. Enter Bryan Nichols- a quiet, reserved, and reluctant heir to the local werewolf pack, and the man who will save our story line heroine when the past comes looking for revenge. Ellie will learn that, she too, is not quite human, and with it the truth about her parent’s death, and the identity of the strange old woman who lives in the hills.

HEARTS ALIGNING reveals some of the lore and history surrounding the paranormal presence in Saint’s Grove Virginia, and its connections to the last lunar phenomena, three hundred years earlier, that created the rift between Earth and the Otherworld. Miranda Hardy introduces the local pack of werewolf shifters, and their connections to the mythology and stories in and around the small town where most of the residents have some supernatural ability. The premise is entertaining; the characters are a mix of good and evil; the romance is a little underwhelming-I didn’t feel the connection between our leading couple.

a combination of paranormal and sci-fi.

Loved the unique take on shifters and other paranormals that this book created.

Ellie was getting out - of the small town that she had always lived in. She came back from college to run the bar that her grandfather had own, only because it was stipulated in his will. If she ran it for 5 years she go her inheritance and her plan was to get out while the getting was good. But you know how plans are - when a portal opens up in town square and all manor of creatures come out and massacre much of the town - your plan goes up in smoke!

Thought Ellie was a likeable MC - although she did have several really stupid moments - luckily others seemed to be able to get her out of the jams she found herself in.

As her love/apathetic interest - Bryan - was passable. I really didn't feel much of the emotional connection between him & Ellie - just didn't seem to gel for me.

Even so, I thought the town and it's cast of characters were interesting and complex. I wouldn't mind returning there for a visit - maybe for a different couple.

low on the steam factor/HFN ending.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

Hearts Aligning is a paranormal romance and the second book in the Saint's Grove series. The main character, Ellie, was raised by her grandfather. When he passed, he left her his bar and his fortune with the stipulation that she must keep and run the bar herself for five years. It is now the end of that period and she is preparing to sell the bar and move away from Saint's Grove. But then one night during a planetary alignment, rifts pop up all over town and strange creatures from other worlds begin to pour out of them. All of a sudden, she can see auras and that's just the tip of the iceberg. Now that she finds out that werewolves, witches, vampires and other supposedly mythical creatures are all too real, she must brave the wilds in search of the past that has been kept from her all of her life. But when all is said and done, can she and her friends weather the storm that has descended upon their quiet little town?

I would first like to state that I received an ARC from one of the authors participating in the series for review. This was quite the emotional roller-coaster ride. It was full of action, love, magic, and heartbreak. For the length, it was quite a good story. The characters were likeable, the storyline superb, and the pace steady throughout. I just wish there were a little more background story to the two main protagonists. But all in all, I really enjoyed it. This was another book that I tore through in record time as I didn't want to put it down. If you like a good paranormal romance, this one is definitely for you!

I received this book in exchange for an honest review.

This series is rather unique. I like the whole paranormal theme with an even occurring that opens a portal to other worlds/dimensions. Ellie is kick butt. She is fierce, strong, loyal, apparently book smart to run the bar for five years and has a heart of gold. She is everything you want in a female lead. Bryan is sweet, caring, protective and supportive and that makes him the best book boyfriend material. The characters are truly great and the plot was good too. Can't wait to read more in this series.

Hearts Aligning by Miranda Hardy a straight arrow five-star read. This is book two in the Saints Grove series; they are all wrote by different authors but are centred around the same event. It’s the only book in the series I have read But I enjoyed this book, so will check out the others. With madness comes truth, with truth comes sorrow. This line could sum up this book, how would you feel to finally find answers to questions you have asked for years and be given everything you want out, only to have to give it all up. That’s the problem Ellie Whitaker faces.
Ellie thinks her life is about to come to a conclusion, where she can move on to the next chapter, she has stuck out the five years her grandfather specified in his will when he died that she had to keep his bar open, before she could sell it and take the money he left her. Ellie thinks she can finally get on with her life, the life she left behind, when he passed away.
When she is working in the bar she sticks her head out to see what all the fuss is about as everyone in Saints Grove has been going on about a meteor shower and how the planets are aligning, creating a spectacular lunar eclipse. While she is watching the stars, strange things start to happen. Portals open from other dimensions, and her own body starts to betray her, she discovers things about her best friends and crush that she never would have dreamed of. Life will never be the same again.
Ellies crush is Bryan Nichols, he was always smiling in high school, but since he came back from college he seems a different man, he comes in to the bar every night for a beer, then he says good night and leaves, nothing amiss just a drink on his way home and that’s all Ellie thinks it is for him. Bryan doesn’t dare dream that it could ever be more, he relays on Ellie more than he can admit to anyone including himself.
This is a story of what if, and brings so amazing characters along the way, there is love and heartbreak, and enough drama to keep you on the edge of your seat.

This is an awesome concept about a single event in Saint's Grove, but told from different character's POV from different authors. That seems to keep the event fresh and entertaining. I loved the idea of aliens trapped here from a previous event. The world or plane they were sounded so interesting and I wanted to go there to experience it. There was also plenty of action to keep your interest. And Desmon is a villian that you love to hate. The plot was well executed and left no holes. Everything came together perfectly. I just couldn't connect with the main characters. I don't know why, but they just didn't feel real. Other than that, it was an enjoyable book and I would recommend it to anyone that loves fantasy and the paranormal.

HEARTS ALIGNING is a story involving bar owner Ellie Whitaker, and werewolf shifter Bryan Nichols. A lunar eclipse preempts worm hole openings allowing aliens to depart and come through. Truths are revealed and histories unearthed that lead to personal discoveries and a family reunion for Ellie.
The story's premise is entertaining and you'll either love or hate the characters. I wanted to punch the main villain once or twice on Ellie's behalf. The romance is a little underwhelming; I didn’t feel the connection between our leading couple. Overall a good lite fantasy story. The narrator did a good job providing different voices for the characters.

Hearts Aligning by Miranda Hardy was a great read. Ellie's story reminds you that sometimes our clear path isn't as clear as we may think. Everyone's life in Saint's Grove is about to change. This was a great read and I can't wait to read more by Miranda Hardy.

Saint's Grove, located in the mountains of Virginia, is a locus and focus of paranormal activity. Twelve different authors have written tales centered around this locale and its residents and I am privileged to have been allowed to preview several of them.

In this second book released we are no longer dealing with the Greek Gods but any number of other species, some friendly and others less so, some of whom have been in the Grove since the last time the portal opened.

Despite the love of her grandfather, Ellie has always been a loner and outsider. Soon she will have fulfilled the terms of her grandfather's will and finally be able to shake the dust of this town off her feet. And then the planets line up and, during the lunar eclipse, a portal opens into multiple dimensions. And now Ellie is finding herself suddenly popular and . . . she can see colored auras around people!

This series is a fascinating concept delightfully executed. Each book approaches the events from a different perspective and so far each author has deftly handled her material to produce an engaging tale. Most of the novels stand alone and need not be read in any order. STRONGLY RECOMMENDED if you enjoy paranormal romance!

This is an awesome, fast paced and entertaining story, an excellent audiobook.
As the town of Saint’s Grove celebrate the alignment of six planets, a night under the stars, Ellie Whitaker is packing up her family’s bar. Five years after her grandfather’s death Ellie has fulfilled her commitment and is ready to move onto the next phase of her life.
Bryan Nichols returned from school a few months ago; he is no longer the happy carefree boy Ellie remembers. Each night he comes into her bar Ellie notices him alone staring out the window, estranged from his family and friends.
The night under the stars quickly turns into a night of destruction. The aligning planets open portals into other worlds allowing dangerous creatures come through. To keep Ellie safe, Bryan reveals himself as a werewolf and protects her from creatures attacking. The planet alignment causes a physical change in Ellie where she discovers she is an unknown creature herself.
To help Ellie learn about where she came from, Ellie and Bryan trek into the woods to find Ellie’s mother, a woman they thought was long dead. This is a wonderful story of friendship, strength and self-discovery.

I received an ARC of this book. I enjoyed the story and the characters. Miranda Hardy added a good amount of mystery to the story and made it enjoyable to find the answers along with Elle and her friends. This is the fourth book I have read from the series, even though it is book two. I was able to recognize other characters that have slight mention in the book, and I love the fact that the events that occur between the characters have been mentioned in both books involving the characters. I am not sure how the authors managed to collaborate so well, but my props to them!

Ellie is facing the truth after years of lies about who she is and trying to figure out where she belongs. She finds out there is much more out there in the universe than she ever dreamed. She has felt isolated and different from others and only has two real friends until the truth comes out about who she is. Suddenly, her life is dramatically changed. She faces tough choices and even has a chance for romance with Bryan.
Bryan is the local boy with his own secrets. He has returned to town after college. He visits the bar every day but says very little. When danger hits them all, he reveals himself for the first time.

I liked the interesting world the author created, It features all types of paranormals. It seems like there are so many stories to tell.

I would love to see more of Ellie and Bryan. Their relationship develops very fast. There are so many things going on that the relationship doesn't get as much time as I might have liked.

The story is fast paced and definitely kept my interest,

Hearts Aligning is a paranormal romance and the second book in the Saint's Grove series. Saint's Grove, located in the mountains of Virginia, is a hotbed of paranormal activity; home to witches, werewolves, vampires, and countless other creatures.

The main character, Ellie, was raised by her grandfather. When he passed, he left her everything with the stipulation that she must stay in Saint's Grove and run the bar herself for five years. The five years are now up and Ellie is ready to sell and leave town. Her world has already been rocked when she finds her grandfather's journals revealing that her life has been filled with lies and secrets. But then a planetary alignment opens up portals all over town unleashing total chaos as new paranormals enter our world and changes Ellie herself. This sets her on a journey that is life changing.

This is a fast paced, well-written, very entertaining adventure. There's magic, love, friendship, danger, heartbreak. Ellie has a wonderful best friend and a possible new love. Life isn't what she thought it was, it's even better.

Ellie was ready to sell the bar she had inherited, and had met the stipulations made by her grandfather in his will of staying five years after his death. She has been clearing out the basement and the star gaze event was just about to occur. The planets align and the solar eclipse occurs and then all hell breaks loose. Portals opens and all sorts of gruesome monsters sprew forth on the unsuspecting township. Ellie experiences a moments of pain and then something changes.

Okay, you need to read the book to get the full story. It is magical, romantic and dramatic at times. Great characters and fantastic story line. Yes, well worth the read.

All I can say is start the Saint's Grove books NOW !! Start with book one as it gives you the best overall picture of the town, but you can easily follow this story if you haven't read it yet. Ellie's story just makes the first book and the series even better to me. If you like paranormal romance, you will love this series, it has something for everyone to love in it !! 4☆'s, only because I have a feeling the rest of the series books will need me to have the extra star to give to them !! I recieved a gifted copy and am voluntarily choosing to leave an honest and unbiased review.

This book is part of a series that features 12 different stories from 12 authors set around the same event. Interesting, right? Together, the authors weave an engaging story from multiple points of view. This tale brings together werewolves, witches, and the mystery that makes up the main character. This is the central focus of the book as we follow Ellie on her journey of self-discovery, love, loss, and acceptance. You are given glimpses of the history of the event as well as snippets of other supernatural that wet your appetite and make you want to read the rest of the series. I know I do!

Well this was a very interesting book, I have a feeling that every book in this series will be awesome so I need to read the next one. Though I have to say that I didn't expect Ellie to be what she is and everything to happen as it did but hey everything happens for a reason and the Eddie incident is unforgivable!

I enjoyed this book. The book was well written without typos. I would have loved to have had more back story as it felt a little like jumping into movie 2 of a series. I knew enough about the characters but curiosity about the past kept me intrigued in completing the book. I hope there are more books to follow.

While I love the premise of this story and enjoy the idea of all the Saint's Grove franchise, I did not love the execution of this story. It felt as though it could have stood more description and a deeper development but it was an enjoyable enough read. Don't skip this installment of Saint's Grove.

Miranda Hardy's "Hearts Aligning" is the second tale in the Saint's Grove collection, but you can read it as a standalone, I did. This is a YA/NA Paranormal Romance with a closed-door approach for the steamy scenes. I loved the mythology of the event and all of the creatures. Bryan and Ellie make a sweet couple. Lots of interesting twists and turns. I couldn't put it down. This author is a great writer and I'm reading everything I can of hers!
