It feels so good to be bad...and Ryker Dennison is just that—a bad boy biker who is working his way up to the President position of the Roaming Devils Motorcycle Club. He plays by his own rules, and the club comes first, until she comes back into his life.

Ella Hawkins has loved Ryker since high school, even though the sexy doctor knows it's hopeless. She knows Ryker hasn't forgotten the part she played in his arrest or the fact that her father is a cop. But when Ella gets into more trouble than she can handle, there's only one man who can help her. Ryker will break every rule in the book to save her. Will it be enough?

I've read quite a few MC Club romance novels, but this one was a little bit different for me. I think it's because the emphasis was placed equally on both the Club and on the romance, not one more than the other.

Ryker and Ella knew each other since they were 15, going to the same high school. They were crushing pretty hard but didn't do anything about it. Several years later they reconnect, but before they could "complete their transaction", her father arrests Ryker and he's sent to prison. Fast forward to the present and Ella comes begging for Ryker's help to rescue her dad from a rival Club. They once again reconnect and sexy times commenced almost immediately. There was a lot of push and pull, way too many "I love you/I hate you" moments, and this occurred almost from the start. The rest of the book is about this couple trying to find a way to be together, Ryker battling against addiction and his evil father (the Prez), and the two of them coming to terms with what their future may hold. Can the good girl and the bad boy find their HEA?

This is a gritty biker read about the one percenters and it pulled me in and kept me captivated the whole time. The Roaming Devils position of club president had been in Ryker’s family since his grandfather and now his father, Razor, was acting president with Ryker being groomed to take over eventually. Unlike Razor who was a ruthless SOB, Ryker did have a heart under that cut he wore. When he was in high school there was a girl that he had been infatuated with and wanted nothing more than to treat her the way he felt she should be treated. It so happened that that girl’s father was a cop and was the cop who put Ryker in jail after being caught almost doing the dirty deed with Ella. So Ryker went to prison for drugs and Ella went to college and became a dr.

Ella came back home to do her residency and took up again with bad boy, Ryker. They had a lot to go through to be together because both Razor and Ella’s cop dad did not want these two to get together for the same reason almost…Ryker needed to keep his head on straight in order to take over the president position in the club and women were only good for one thing and Ella’s dad knew that the Roaming Devils were some of the baddest bikers out there and he didn’t want his daughter pulled into that life. The only problem with this was that Ryker and Ella had really loved each other since high school and none of that changed the whole time they were apart. Ryker thought that he would be able to keep up with everything expected of him from the club and Ella just wanted to be there for Ryker because she knew he was under a lot of pressure from his dad.

Would Ryker and Ella be able to get past their different lifestyles and come together when they were at home or would their fathers get their way and end this relationship? Ryker even had to deal with making the decision if he was going to let Razor kill Ella or if he would do it. You’ll have to read this in order to get the outcome of that little get together they had because it will surprise you. I have to say that I was really pulling for Ryker and Ella to somehow get past all of the issues that were thrown at them. It also gave you a peek at what it is like inside a notorious one percenter biker club. I would love to see Vampire’s book come out next and would definitely pick it up to read. I just found a new biker author to follow.

this is not a soft MC romance . Ryker and Ella met each other when they were 15 years old but never really communicated other than a few words. they both had a major crush on the other but Ellie was a good girl and daughter of a policeman. Ryker was the bad boy son of MC member. There was a couple of times through the years when the interacted. One time landed Ryker in jail. Ella went off to college and medical school. Now they meet again when Ella needs Ryker's help to save her father from a rival MC.The attraction is still there. There are a lot of obstacles in here way. Both father's are against them. Ryker struggles with trying to balance his MC life and his personal life with Ella. The rule has always been MC first. Ella must try to stay strong and trust her feelings for Ryker. With everything coming at them from both sides it is hard to stay strong. I liked how the author tried to keep the MC side true. they made to excuses for who they were and behaved like a MC . there was violence, parties and drugs. I really liked the story. However, I did think Ella was a little naive about some things. Ryker is in a MC, so yes there were bad things in his record and things he would not be able to discuss with her. When her dad turned in the video and acted surprised that they would think it came from her. He is a police office who worked with gangs and MCs, so he should have known he was putting her out there. Over all I enjoyed he read.

I think 3... maybe 2 1/2..I don't know.

This book bothered the crap out of me. I swear the main characters couldn't find their way out of a wet paper bag with both hands.

Here is the summary for you: I love you, I hate you, you aren't good enough for me, let's have sex, I love you, I hate you, My dad hates you, you aren't good enough, let's have sex, I love you....

I know it is harsh but I really don't know what to say. It started off really good and I was wrapped up in it and then it was like wash, rinse, and repeat. Ella was right what did he see in her. I think he was obessed with the idea of her. She was a total brat swaying what she thought of him on every other page. You are a grown adult who is a doctor, you DON'T need your father's approval. REALLY?!?! GROW UP!!!

Ok enough I know. The ending really left everything up in the air and I felt it should have eneded a whole lot different.

DARN! I wanted to like this.

If you're looking for a quick, fun, easy read then this is the book for you.

This book had a great build up between the H/h, something I sometimes feel there's a lack of in some books. However as it reaches its crescendo, it just seemed to fizzle out.

Ryker is a great character. He's got more than the average MC member to deal with but he's still loyal...but is his loyalty returned?

I found Ella slightly irritating but that's not uncommon. I did, however, feel that some of the things she did were either a little naive or stupid and I just couldn't connect with her.

There's no real information or teaser for the sub characters or the MC as a whole. This could however be touched upon in book #2, given how things were left off in this book (no big cliffhanger though) but there wasn't the camaraderie and brotherhood that you'd normally get.

Other than Vampire or SpiderMan's stories, I don't know who else the next book would be about. Even then, I didn't get enough of a taste for either of these characters.

All this being said, I still enjoyed it as a quick filler read, which we all sometimes need.

This one was raw, gritty, dirty, sexy, and I LOVED it!! Ryker has never known life with the Roaming Devils MC. His father is president and he's been grooming Ryker since the day he was born to take over. The only thing holding him back - his own personal kryptonite - Ella Hawkins. The drugs, booze, and women couldn't break him but one look from her just might. Lusting after a cop's daughter probably isn't the wisest thing for a guy living on the wrong side of the law should do but when she comes to him for a favor he knows deep down he'll do whatever she asks.

Definitely a book I recommend!

Ryker is in a MC and Ella is his kryptonite she's a doctor a good girl totally opposite of him. One day Ella shows up at his club trying to get drugs to help her dad but Ryker ends up helping her. But Ella has to stay away from Ryker that's the deal. What happened when they just can't stay away from each other? It's I hate you no I love you and the whole her parents hate him thing There adults but I never felt that , I felt like they were still in high school getting approved my mommy and daddy what they did. They story mostly is back and fourth but really no closer at the end. 3/5 stars I received this book for a unbiased review

I give this book 4 hearts

I thoroughly enjoyed this MC tale this is the first in the series so although it doesn't quite end with a cliffhanger it's left pretty open for the next book.

Ryker is a badass he's more than just a part of the roaming Devils MC he was born into them. His father is the president and before that his grandfather, he's been a patched member since 18 and doesnt know any other way of life, drugs sex whores....until Ella walks into his life pleading for help.
He's know Ella since highschool a good girl definitely way to good for him. She's his unicorn and at least part of the reason he went to prison, but that day when she comes to MC clubhouse well everything's about to change.
This is book is raunchy, sexy and a little dark. Ryker is easy to fall for but he also drove a little crazy! He's definitely a bad boy with a good heart which makes him pretty darn irresistible to begin with, but he's also not a guy that easily changes his stripes to spots. Some books you read about the bad boy and all of a sudden he meets a girl and goes soft, seemingly changing overnight. Nope not Ryker he's still a bad boy even with Ella but he makes a huge effort and keeps trying. It's a real struggle for him everyday, addiction, fighting, women.....and his father well he is one sadistic MOFO. Ella is a woman that's in love with a man that is constantly struggling with himself, it's not an easy love story but it's real.
If you're a MC fan give it a try it's not a genre I read very often but I loved it.

This is the first in a new series by Lexie Davis and this first book is the battle between father and son on many issues, the most important one to Ryker is Ella.

Ella and Ryker met in school when they were 15 and while the next several years the only conversation they had was a sentence a day, they both were falling hard back then, they just didn't realize it. This has been a problem with Ryker's dad and his father before him not to mention Ella's father as well. The first real night they actually spent together landed Ryker in prison.

He is determined to be with her. Their fathers are determined to keep them apart, for different reasons and when she has to come to the club to ask Ryker to help with getting her father released from a gang that has kidnapped him things get more complicated and Razor has her where he wants her, or so he thinks.

This is a complicated story of trying to combine the good of Ella who is a doctor and Ryker and the bad parts of him without them touching. It doesn't help that her dad is a cop. There will be a lot happen in this book that will setup further books in this series. It will show just how far Ryker will go to keep her safe.

Breaking the Rules is the first book in Lexie Davis’ Roaming Devils series about bad boy biker Ryker Dennison who is the president of the one percenter MC club, and the doctor he falls in love with, Ella Hawkins. Their story is told in more than one book, (In fact, three so far!)
Ryker and Ella have known each other since they were school age, but have gone off in very different paths. Ryker is in the MC, thanks to his father Razor, and evil SOB. And Ella becomes a doctor, and she also has a father who is a police detective who happens to hate Ryker and the MC. Ryker ended up doing time after being caught with Ella and her father finding drugs on him.
Now, her father has been kidnapped and is being tortured by a rival MC. The only way to get him back? Produce 10 keys of cocaine. The only way Ella knows to get that is through Ryker, but first, she has to go through his father, and the terms could cost her everything.
Ella and Ryker begin a back and forth love match which sees the two of them together and apart. Ryker’s father wants them apart, as does Ella’s father, but Ryker will do anything to keep Ella short of leaving the MC.
Lots of action here, and you can tell that not only isn’t Razor finished with his mayhem, but events that occurred in this book will definitely come back to bite everyone later! We’ll see what happens next!

Get ready for another page turner
I enjoyed reading Lexie's book. It was hard to put down. I want to know more about how Ryker and Ella work our their issues. This story is full of action, emotion and love. Some people don't know how to show our receive it. How can Ella and Ryker make it? Her dad doesn't like him... He's a cop and Ryker's on the wrong side of the law. Not to mention his dad doesn't want him with Ella either... Can they make it work? You'll have to read to find out, my guess is, if you like you read about motor cycle clubs then you'll want to read the series like me.

Please be ADVISED before reading this book, I feel that I need to advise you and all future readers that in all likelihood this book may have some valid triggers that you as a reader may find objectionable or repulsive. So PLEASE if you have a prejudice viewpoint regarding drug use/addiction that you cannot set aside while reading a fictional story, then please STOP reading and find another book. It would be unreasonable & unfair to the author if you read and then rated their work poorly based on personal feelings instead of the fictional work the produced. If you do decide to continue reading, HAPPY READING! Due to explicit sexual content, drug use and adult language this novel is recommended for readers 18 and older.

Unfortunately this story is just "Meh" meaning nothing memorable, special, or entertaining about it.

I found Ella a little naive and flat. I just couldn't connect with her so the relationship with Ryker didn't feel real.

The one thing that is unique to this MC story is that there really isn't any camaraderie and sense of family with the club guys, it through me off that no one really had any emotional connection to each other.

I'm not planning to jump into book 2, but I do enjoy MC reads so I may pick this series up again later...maybe

My first book by Lexie Davis and it was good. I liked the fast pace of the novel with a little biker angst thrown in for good measure. Written in dual POV gives the reader a chance to see what is going on in each person head. Ryker is the bad biker who has wanted Dr. Ella every since they were 15. When Ella comes back into his life, she is an addiction he can't kick. I love how Ryker is a biker yet is not afraid to show his emotions and feeling to Ella when he is stand off to everyone else.

I always enjoy finding a new author to read. It's a rare thing for me nowadays. Tried and true when I have to spend my money. I also enjoy finding a new MC romance series. Bonus is, new series and new author.

Ryker is slated to take the gavel and be the President of the Roaming Devils MC after his father steps down or dies. He's ready. The club has been his way of life for as long as he can remember. His vision for the MC is different from his father's. He knows there will be resistance but he's up for the challenge.

Ella is a doctor and the daughter of a police officer that is set on taking down Ryker's club. Ella went to high school with Ryker, knows what the MC is about and goes to Ryker for help. This starts a series of events that will have light suspense fans cheering.

Good start to a new series and I'm really looking forward to the next one. Will it be Superman or Vampire?

I'm a big fan of MC-based romance books and was excited to read this one. I've read books like this before, but this one was a bit darker than most that I've read. If you're okay with reading books containing extreme violence, a MC on the wrong side of the law, lots of sex, drugs, a 'hero' who is loyal and a sweet but feisty heroine, then you'll enjoy this book. If you're against any of that, then you should probably just skip reading this book. I found myself hating some parts of the book that were a bit too dark for me (mainly the killing of people without remorse and the drug use), but I still found myself wanting to see what happened in the end and kept reading. The ending makes up for the rest of it in my opinion, but I can see why some don't like the tone of the book since it is a bit dark and unapologetic.

Ryker is the VP of the Roaming Devil’s MC. Ella is an ER doc who is back home in Atlanta now while she completes her residency. They both had a thing for each other when they were 15, but Ella set Ryker up to be caught by her dad, who is a cop, and eventually Ryker was arrested and spent some time in prison. Fast forward to present day when Ella strides into the Roaming Devil's club to beg Ryker for his assistance in retrieving her dad from a rival MC. Ryker refuses, but his dad (Razor), the president of the MC, agrees in exchange for her getting some prescription drugs for him and staying away from Ryker. They rescue her father, but Ella refuses to stay away from Ryker and Razor makes it very obvious that he doesn't want her around and thinks she's bad for the club and Ryker. So begins their whirlwind romance.

I absolutely hated Razor - his character was so well-written that you couldn't help but hate the guy and let your emotions get the best of you while reading. He was ruthless, heartless, only cared about the club and could care less about his own son unless it furthered his own agenda. I wanted to punish him myself after the whole drugging Ryker incident. I had to stop reading several times after some of the incidents involving him since I was too upset and gritting my teeth a bit too much.

I loved Ella's character. She was fierce, but sweet at the same time. She was a competent doctor and really refused to back down from her support and love of Ryker, regardless of what he or anyone else did to try and push him away.

Ryker had his moments where I really didn't like him at all, but in the end, you learn that he really does have a heart, although it's a bit black at times. He loved Ella fiercely and made sure to protect her when he could. He was even willing to die for her and that earned him my respect.

In the end, I liked that he wanted to change the direction of the club so that it ran cleaner and can't wait to see how things turn out in the next book of the series. He's slowly trying to redeem himself and change his life and that of the club, hopefully.

breaking the rules by lexie davis
an intruiging mix of sensuality and crudity
the story line goes like this
there are be many biker clubs but only the top one percent are true biker clubs.The male lead ryker dennison belongs to such a club and his father razor is the head of the club. The female lead ella is a doctor and ther daughter of a police officer.Ryker was meant to someday take his fathers place,and alot is expected from him .Once a clubmember always a club member there is no getting away from the club. the club deals with a lot of illegal activities and members mustnt have any liabilties( lovers ,families etc) club is the only family one has . Some situations make ella and ryker meet and they realise that they have been crushing on each other since highschool . Ryker is more experienced and finds that he has something special with ella and he is something entirely different around her and finds that she brings the good in him . both their parents disapprove and try to deal with it in their own ways ( one being a thug and other being a cop) . what the couple endures to make their love work is the story.

the author did a fascinating job in mixing the opposites ,a crude guy like ryker and a sweet girl like ella . the writing is simple ,easy to understand and the descriptions are detailed and vivid . there are no lapses in the story and it felt like reading a sidney sheldon or jackie collins novel. i would love to read the next book ( if the author is plannig on writing one).

i got this ebook in exchange for an honest review from net galley and i thouroughly enjoyed the book . the book is not appropriate for young audiences or those who hate indecent wording and violent scenes . if u like to read a mafia style romance novel this book is for u.

Breaking the Rules by Lexie Davis is book 1 in the Roaming Devils MC series. This is a hardcore gritty MC novel. The author is very clear that these aren’t your typical lovable alpha male bikers. Obviously I’m paraphrasing, but it’s important to note the Roaming Devils MC is a 1 percenter MC. I appreciated that disclaimer since this isn’t my typically read. If you’re like me, this book will likely be outside your comfort zone.
With that said, the book wasn’t bad. It was actually a pretty good read. I just cringed through the drug use, loose women, and violence LOL. The main characters Ryker Dennison and Ella Hawkins met years before in high school. Ryker’s had a crush on Ella all this time, but felt she was too good for him. When she shows up at the Roaming Devils clubhouse looking for a way to save her kidnapped father, he agrees to help her.
Ryker is drawn to Ella despite his intentions to stay away. She’s the daughter of a policeman; he’s the product of a hardcore MC upbringing. Their relationship shouldn’t work, but they fight through major adversity to stay together. The concept is really great, but was executed with a few flaws. Ella make no sense to me. She’s a total flake. She goes from professing loves and understanding to sharing details of illegal activity with her father. I almost got whiplash from all the back and forth with her. Ryker on the other hand was a pretty good flawed hero. I can get on board with a man doing the best he can as long as he’s honest, sexy, and committed!
Overall, this wasn’t my cup of tea, but I drank it anyway. It was a decent read and fans of this genre will likely love it. I will admit to being curious where the series leads. The cliffhanger led me to believe the MC is headed in a direction that will be more palatable to my tastes.

**I received a copy of Breaking the Rules by Lexie Davis from Net Galley in exchange for an honest review**

If the rest of the series was as good as this book was then the author will have another hit series. I really loved the book with Ryker and Ella as the main characters. Unfortunately, his dad Razor was his worst nightmare but he gets to pay him back in the conclusion of the book.

Ryker Dennison knows only one thing that the Roaming Devils MC is his legacy and the club that is run by his father Razor is a true one percent MC that he'll eventually get to take over as president. But even though he doesn't agree with his father when Ella Hawkins shows up at the club needing drugs to rescue her father, a cop who put him in jail when they were teens, from a rival MC the Young Bloods. He agrees knowing that she'll owe a favor to him and the club in return for their assistance. They both have unresolved feeling for each other and through the entire book they run into not only her parents but Razor who keeps trying to break them apart.

Ella Hawkins is now a doctor trying to get through her residency and work at the free clinic near the Roaming Devils but when she needed help to rescue her father, Ryker was there to help. She'll endure her own kidnapping, assault by a patient from the clinic, Ryker getting injured twice but fear that her love for him won't be strong enough to last. Ryker has to decide if he can lead the club to more legal businesses instead of running drugs and collecting debts from junkies plus get enough votes from the members all while getting rid of his father and his followers. Can their love for each other survive?

There is language, sex and violent murder scenes through some of the book but this is how the true one percent of motorcycle clubs are. If you can get beyond that, you'll find that Breaking the Rules is one heck of a book.

Breaking the Rules was a perfect title for book one of the Roaming Devil's MC series by Lexie Davis. I was truly captivated by dark, gritty & sexy story line. What's a MC book without lots of darkness, drugs, violence & lots of sex. This story is about Ryker who is legacy to the Roaming Devil's MC Club whose father, Razor, is the current president. He was born into the club lifestyle. And at 15 he falls in love with Ella, a sweet young girl who he knows in his heart to heart she's deserves better and he's no good for her, or is he?

This is a conflicted love story as both of Ryker and Ella's fathers do not want them to be together. Did I mention that as Ryker's dad is the President of his MC Club while Ella's father is none less than a cop!! Talk about opposite ends of the worlds. One father is set on doing everything as hard core, corrupt and evil while the other father is fighting the bad guys. How could a relationship between their children ever happen. Even though forbidden by their fathers, when Ella shows up at the MC looking for help to get her dad who was kidnapped by another evil club love is in the air. I loved the chemistry between the two. Ella who is a doctor and this bad boy MC Club member who is by far flawed somehow enter into one complicated conflicted love story. Had there not been so much back and forth, I'm not good for you, you deserve better ... I would have given this book 5 stars. It gave me whiplash and at one point I didn't know if a relationship between the two could ever transpire. I definitely loved Ryker's character a whole lot more than Ella's. Overall, I'd definitely recommend this series. The author does an amazing job at staging future books to come throughout. I want more!! Can't wait for book two.

I received "Breaking the Rules" in exchange for an honest review. The book revolves around the lives of Ryker Dennison and Ella Hawkins. Ryker is the son of Razor, the head of the Roaming Devils. All of his life he was bought up that the club was the beginning and the end. Nothing else matters. Women were to be used and shared. Drugs and guns. Violence. Ella is the daughter of a police officer who works the gang unit. Ever since she met Ryker in high school she was attracted to him. She went to medical school and is doing her residency plus works at a free clinic in a rough neighborhood of Atlanta. Ryker felt the same for her in high school. He always kept tabs on her. One day she enters the club looking for him. The rival gang has taken her father and she needed cocaine in exchange for her dad. Ryker refuses to sell to her and instead goes to get him from the Young Bloods. This the start of the story of these two. Loads of twists and turns in this complicated relationship. To say that I hated Razor, Ryker's dad, is an understatement. The things he did to his own son. I really didn't love Ella's dad either. I understand that Pat Hawkins has seen the ugliness of the Roaming Devils but being so narrow minded that he put Ella's life in danger is a major character flaw. Ryker and Ella are in a terrible situation being on opposite sides of the law. I enjoyed Ryker's character. He never faltered in his love for Ella. Ella on the other hand while admitting loving him was, in my opinion, less committed. There are power struggles. Both of their fathers want them apart for different reasons. There is a secondary character, Parker aka Vampire, who I hope the author will write his story.

3-3.5 stars!

The first book in the Roaming Devils MC series, introduces us to the club members, what their known for, and the battle between who's going to run the club. Ryker Dennison has been in the club since day one: his grandfather, then his father, were all in the club. Both men ruled with an iron fist, and his dad, Razor, lives up to his name with his brutality. Ryker wants something different for the club..he wants something other than the drug trade..other than women only being there for one reason. Ryker has had the hots for Ella since they were in high school. She's everything he's not used to: good girl, innocent, smart, and gorgeous without even trying. She's also the daughter of a cop, which doesn't work well with his lifestyle.
Ella has always been attracted to Ryker. He was already such a badass, but she also saw a side of him that no one else does. Ella is finishing up her residency, which her medical background is coming in handy around the MC. Her father loathes Ryker and everything he stands for. He will do anything to protect his baby girl, and that means keeping the MC on his radar.
Ella's dad hates Ryker-Ryker's dad hates Ella. With everyone pitting against them, will they stand a chance coming from two different worlds.
I like that they are complete opposites, but at times Ella was frustrating with her ignorance. I could not paint a clear picture of what the characters looked like..that would have helped me fall for these characters more. I enjoyed the story line, and the intro to other characters. I definitely can't wait to read more about other characters in the story...Vampire!

I absolutely loved this dark and gritty MC romance. It was such an exciting and romantic read about two lovers who came from very different worlds but they would have to break every rule to be together.

Lexie Davis did a fantastic job on this story. She didn't pull any punches in showing the gritty underbelly of the MC lifestyle. Our hero, Ryker, wasn't exactly a nice guy, he had some vices that he struggled with for the entire story. Ella was his weakness and he would do anything to keep her safe and in his bed. This story was hot and intense and loaded with conflict as their two fathers tried to tear them apart.

I loved the way this story was written to show real characters who were deliciously flawed. The writing was excellent. It was brilliant and beautiful. As a first time reader of Lexie Davis, I am amazed by her creative writing style and how she was able to pull me into the character's relationship. I so look forward to the next book in the Roaming Devils MC.

4.5 Flying Stars for this one.

I received this book from net gallery for an honest review.

Ryker is a member of the Roaming Devil's MC. He's been drawn to Ella since he was fifteen but he's not a good man and she deserves a lot more than he can give her.

When Ella comes into the club house asking for help to save her dad; she makes a deal with Razor (president of MC and Ryker's dad) but what price will she pay for breaking the deal?

Razor warns Ryker to stay away from Ella and Ella receives a similar warning from a parents.

Will they break all the rules to be with each other?

I really enjoyed the book. Ryker is torn between complying with club rules and following his heart. My heart broke for Ryker; his dad is his worst enemy. I liked the connection between Ryker and Ella: it was sweet and intense. He never takes advantage of her and never pretends to be what he isn't. In the second half of the book: I found Ella a little overbearing. She doesn't truly accept him for the man he is. I loved the intensity and depth of Ryker's character.

I enjoyed the book and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it,

As the first book in the series it makes it hard to wait for the next one. Ryker Dennison has only known the bike club his whole life except for the few interactions he has had with Ella in high school but he has kept his eye on her when she came back home after college. Now Ella is walking into his clubhouse looking for him and he really doesn't want his father anywhere near her but she needs something and even though he tells her he won't help her his father does. Ella needs to trade cocaine for her dad who's a cop and a rival gang has him and his father Razor agreed to help for drugs from the hospital. Ella's dad had Ryker arrested when he and Ella got cozy years ago and they sent Ryker to jail. So now both fathers don't want their children near each other and some really scary stuff goes on between Ryker,Ella, Razor and the club and the police. Ryker and Ella love each other but how can it work and after reading this story do you still want them too?
I love how both of them had guts to stand up for each other and believing in the love they have to even try.

~~~Digital ARC in exchange for an honest review~~~
The very first thing that caught my eye about this book was the cover, which I happen to really like.
Then I read the review and thought, yup this sounds like a book that I would enjoy and it was. This book is short so it won't consume too much time but at the same time you also won't want to put it down making it a fast read. Overall I liked that the characters in this book weren't all white and black but rather that they were shades of grey as real people are: it had me liking the characters at some points and at others thinking, what are you doing? However that is a good thing because I was involved with the book, the bad thing would have been if I just didn't care about the characters or any other part of the book because not feeling anything about the characters of the story is what makes a bad book in my opinion. This wasn't an amazing book but overall I really enjoyed the story, especially the biker aspect of it, and I would recommend it to a friend who was looking for a hot, quickie book.
I love MC romance books and "Breaking the Rules" was a good one. The difference between this one and other MC books I have read is that it was really dark. There is nothing romanticized about The Roaming Devils club, with Ryker and Ella fighting both their fathers while trying to be together. Ryker's father, Razor was pres. of the club, but he was the worst kind of SOB I think I have ever read in a book. It really was heartbreaking to see what Razor did to his son to try to get him away from Ella.The violence is really raw, gritty and not pretty at all. The MC story had a bit more realism than some books for true outlaw clubs with no fluff when it spoke of Razor and the Devils. Ryker and Ella's romance was not an easy thing for either of them and I wasn't sure they were going to have a HEA. I still enjoyed the book greatly and if you this is your genre, then I would give this one a read. Thank you to NetGalley and Evernight Pub. for gifting me with "Breaking the Rules" and asking for my honest opinion. This is mine. 4.25 Stars!
An enjoyable book. Ryker is torn between his love his MC and and a young woman Ella.
His father is Razor, the president of the Roaming Devil's MC and is Rykers worst enemy, he hates him, he also has to follow all his orders. He's been drawn to Ella since he was fifteen and Ryker had decided she deserved a better man than him and more than he could ever give her.
But when Ella shows up at the club house asking for help, she makes a deal with Razor, (and he really is a bad guy to deal with). What price does she have to pay? What's the price breaking the deal.
She has to stay away from Ryker, the same warning she had from her parents.
Ryker has a similar warning to stay away from Ella.
Will they break the rules, what can happen if they do?
A fantastic tension filled story. Ryker and Ella really had a connection, but everyone was trying to keep them apart. A great story. 5/5
The two have had crushes on one another since high school, both feeling a connection to one another that neither can deny, at least not for long. Both of them have people in their lives and reasons that say why they should not be together, but the pull towards one another is too strong. No matter how much they should stay away from each other, each for similar reasons, it doesn't last long before they're pulled back to one another again. They go through a lot on their way to a happy ending, but they do finally get their happy ending. This book involves drugs, drug abuse, danger, angst, love, and some hot sex scenes. This was a good read for me. The story kept me completely absorbed. I could not put this book down. I look forward to future books in this series (hopefully).
