Four brothers. James the strong and sure. Rafe the irresponsible rake. Oliver the cold and clinical. Then there was William. William the honorable Knight in Shining Armor.
After years of ignoring the whispered rumors about his disreputable family, William has a plan. His dream of becoming a solider will bring respect to the family name, and help England forget decades of mishaps. Everything in his carefully constructed life is going as planned, until he meets Lillian. From the moment she steps from the carriage he knows she belongs to him. But how can their passionate affair lead to a happily ever when she’s already engaged to his cousin?

Like the first book in this series, it caught my attention and I couldn't put it down. This was an usual occurrence for me because the author used 1st person and alternating points of view and those are two things that turn me off to a book. Her characters are rich even though the men are total asses, you still want them to get over themselves and surrender to their emotions. I'm rather disappointed that I can't find books on other brothers and possibly a sister. There are subplots that continue through books and the brothers and I need closure.
this is one of the better selections I have made from NetGalley. This historical romance is obviously not the first in the series however this read well as a standalone. Lilly had a tough father, a creepy abusive husband and a few too many secrets. You can feel the love she has for William and it is heartbreaking what they go through. William's brothers are interesting enough that I want to read more books about them. A sweet story.
I was surprised to find this written in first person especially from the perspective of a male but otherwise, ‘A dangerous deception’ was an entertaining read with lots of angst and brooding characters. Some issues with the flow of the writing but on the whole an interesting story. I received an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
I am not a big historical romance fan but this books description sounded so interesting so I took a chance. And I loved it. What a great story... I will be reading more from this author!
Loved the series. Hoping for book 3... Loved how you see both peoples perspective. Through thier search for their lost sister these men find true love.
An entertaining continuing saga of James, William, Race and Oliver. Lots of romantic angst ..I hope the author continues with the series as the characters keep your interest
Very easy read, loved the characters, story line very original. Liked the length of the story also, not too long and not too short. Nice sex scenes too :)
