Another great story in this series.I love the continuity in all these books characters you get to know and either love or hate.Finding out what happens to Patrick also makes you keep reading .brad has become a major player in the last few.the only problem is now i have to wait for the next book,I cant wait to see what happens in the next story.I received this book free as part of goodreads giveaways.

I won this book on Goodreads. I have not read any of the previous Dale Brown books, but this story has spurred me to read the previous ones, especially Iron Wolf,the one just before this one. The action moves around a lot, so the reader must pay attention to the titles. The author references some of the action & characters from the previous book so the reader can follow the present action. The action sequences are fast and furious, just like an air battle should be. Brown shows a lot insight into the Russian characters and their motivations.

Price of Duty by Dale Brown
Dale Brown plucks his plots out of newspaper headlines. This thriller continues with the Skymaster characters and focuses on cbyer warfare with Russian origins. Obviously that is not much of a fictional stretch.
The McLanahans are back as is ex-President Martindale. The Iron Wolves are Martindale's Scion warriors. As most of Brown's books, there is a focus on high tech weapons and cutting edge gadgets.
The plot sadly depicts an ethically challenged American president and a group of patriotic Americans defying their own government by allying with former eastern bloc countries.
There is plenty of action and mayhem. The potential for cyber warfare is entirely too probable and the results all together too devastating. One can only hope that this near future remains fictional.
I recommend the book.

Price of Duty was a very well written and fast paced thriller. Basically it tells the story of a high tech mercenary unit that is helping the Polish army defend against potential Russian aggression. To me, the high point of the book was how quickly it went. While it means that it can be difficult to keep track of all that is going on, it also makes the book a page turner that drives you to be desperate about what is going to happen in the following chapter. All in all, a brilliant and well written book.

The book was hard to put down and had a real world feel. Dale Brown's use if technology to enhance the story succeeds where many other tech writers fail. The book stands on its own the technology merely an enhancement to a good story. I especially like keeping up with the Dream Land chapters and their developments.

The quality of writing is back up on this one. Brad McLanahan has moved to being the lead character taking the place of his father in previous books. The Russians are causing trouble again, this time using cyber warfare to disrupt the Baltic states. They're doing a pretty good job of it too.

This one picks up right where the previous book left off. The private military company Scion, with their fleets of drones, stealth planes, and robots, is based out of Poland assisting a new Baltic alliance against Russian aggression and subversion while a dithering, isolationist president occupies the White House. This time Brad McLanahan and Scion confront a Russian cyberwarfare campaign that is targeting economic, political, and military targets across Europe. Less air-to-air combat than one expects from a Dale Brown novel, this one is still very much a techno-thriller with extensive technical descriptions, and a cyber war thriller comparable to Tom Clancy's "Threat Vector" or James Swallow's "Ghost."

Brad McLanahan has taken the place of his father, Patrick, however Patrick is not down for the count. The Iron Wolf Squadron and Scion prove their worth again as they battle the dastardly Russian led by President Grannadiy Gryzlov who are attempting to cyberhack their way to world conquest. While Ms. President Stacy Barbeau, President of the United States, sits idly by whle who else can save the world than than the good guys, name Scion and Iron Wolf.

A great book!
I chose this book because I was looking for a new author to read and I saw this book in an email that was sent to me.
I really enjoyed reading it. In my opinion it shows what would have happened if The Cold War had continued even after the fall of Communism and the Soviet Union. With all the technology available to both sides, eventually we would be fighting and attacking each other online.
I would definitely do this book and I isn’t start reading the series from the beginning.

This is the newest book in Brown's series around the McLanahan's and it is an excellent read. I admit to skipping over the names of the various pieces of defensive hardware which does not hinder my enjoyment of the characters, or the plot or the suspense. I have tracked down 4 of the earlier ones in this series, since I have so enjoyed this one and Iron Eagle.
I think this author is actually better than Clancy.
Would make a great Christmas present for some of the men on your list.

An interesting geopolitical, military, sci-fi mix especially given the current geopolitical situation.
Russia deploys a cyber attack on the US and its European allies. This starts first with wiping financial records and slowly escalates over time.
America is uncertain if the malware has been installed on any of its military technology.
All that stands between an all out war is Scion, a cyber tech organization viewed as mercenaries by the USA.

In the Price of Duty , we find the future of world warfare and cyber warfare combined and being carried out to there logical end. Men wearing cyber suits, robot warfare and cyber hacking at it's finest or most deadly.
Brown gives us the future we are quickly evolving into as recent events have shown us. This is a page turner and will hold your attention.

Chip off the old block
The book was exciting and kept me on the edge of my seat. I thought Brad took over for his dad in the war against the Russian president. I was sad about General McLanahan. You just hated the Russian president and president Barbeau. I can't wait to see what happens next.

Good ole Dale Brown his books get better and better this one is about cyber warfare that is involved with the Americans and the European countries to commit atrocities a airline gets highjacked and shot down with loss of life. Action packed from start to finish
Brown's Iron Wolf stories are so entertaining. This novel makes it possible to believe the impossible. An ex-president from the U.S. and an evil Russian president had a score to settle. I recommend this book to anyone that enjoys reading futuristic war stories.

Old friends find themselves in desperate, spell-binding situation; and, of course, they drag you along on their high velocity adventure. Still hard to believe that this series, which started with "Flight of the Old Dog" in 1987, continues to draw me in and leaves me wanting more.

Another in the Patrick McLanahan series, with recognizable characters from previous books. I found it ironic that there was now a sneaky, snarky president who is obsessively jealous of and vindictive to the previous president. Sounds familiar.
