I've been quite sick the last few days and finding it hard to concentrate on reading. This book looked light enough to amuse and that it did. Two things made me drop the rating - a medical "fact" was shared by the hero which made me (as a retired nurse) hit Dr. Google. While I could find reference to the claim in Chinese medicine, I could not in Western medicine. Secondly, although I knew this book was part of a series I still would have liked a more drawn out ending with st least a few teasers as to might be the bad guy in the series. If I had to other books I would definitely read them, but I haven't and think the odds of finding them other than on Amazon, are small.
I admit, I didn't read beyond the first two chapters and the last but what I read was mind bogglingly idiotic. The author tries too hard to make up a caper in the prologue but it just doesn't truly hook the reader to give them an incentive to continue reading. The last chapter where she tries to tie all the knots is a mess again as she again tries too hard and some of the details that falls into place is just too weird and not truly anything romantic or even fun or any kind of sense let alone common sense.
This is the first of three books. Each is about triplets who were born in the United States. They are all a like except for the color of their eyes. Each sister has an adventure going on. All the men who come into their lives are not giving them an easy time. Greer and Max courtship is a rocky and filled with lies and half truths. Each one distrusts the other. Will they get their own happy ending?
3 ½ Stars! ~ This is a first of a trilogy of triplet sisters who are challenged by their deceased father to find husbands, and to aid them in this they have been provided with a Husband Fund. The girls decide to have some fun and use the money to vacation on the Riviera. They've been brought up with tales that they have ancestral roots to Italian aristocracy and have an heirloom gem that has been passed down through generations that hint that the tales may be true. This is Greer's story. She's the eldest and has met her match in Max, a man who is posing as a crew member on a yacht the girls have chartered. Max and his two cousins are on the trail of gems that have been stolen from their family, and believe the girls are in possession of one of them. While the chemistry between Greer and Max is well done, their story often takes second place to the search for the gem. I'm looking forward to Olivia's story next.
