This time, it’s a real bunny shifter and you know the saying about doing something like bunnies…
Oliver Biggerstaffer comes to Texas from Boston, looking for a job and a new life. He’s hoping the advertising firm he interviews for will hire him, and he can put his past where it belongs—behind him. No one will know who or what he is—a snake shifter.
Except he’s interviewed by Jagger Osterman, a bear shifter, and he meets a cute bunny shifter at the hotel where he’s staying. Oliver can’t hide his shifter status from them. And he doesn’t want to, once he meets them—especially the bunny, Peter Ruiz. It’s lust at first sight, but Oliver wants to take things slow as long as he’s staying at the hotel Peter’s working at.
Peter wants to get laid, and he wants to get laid now. The sexy snake shifter he’s attracted to has morals and ethics and things most of the guys Peter’s screwed around with before lack.
Oliver treats Peter like a person, not a body to have sex with, and if they can survive a series of weird accidents that might not be accidents after all, then Oliver and Peter just might have a happy ending all their own.

I am a married mom of four who spends most of the day writing, either on stories or at the blog. I love to write as much as I love to read. I am generally quiet and laid back, choosing to let things slide off me rather than stick and irritate me.
And it's really hard trying to think of descriptives for myself, so I'll just let y'all e-mail me or comment at the blog if there's something specific you'd like to know, and spare you from reading a boring bio:D
This second book about “city shifters”, just as civilized as their human counterparts, is as funny and entertaining as the first. And, after a bear pairing up with a pronghorn, the combination in ‘Harey Situation’ is just as interesting: Oliver is a snake and Peter is a hare. Between the two of them they manage to not only heat up the sheets, but also to confront whoever seems to be out to kill one or possibly both of them. The resulting mix of suspense, mystery, and heat worked well for me.
Oliver is a snakeshifter and works in advertising – and yes, that did make me snigger. He moves from Boston to San Antonio, Texas, to find a new job for reasons that he is not happy to discuss. He may have a hard time getting used to the heat, but getting to know Peter, a hotel employee, is no hardship at all. Oliver’s refusal to start anything while still staying at Peter’s hotel was unexpected, but it proves that Oliver has principles.
Peter is a very horny hareshifter, but the reaction he has to Oliver is stronger than with any previous lover. Having to wait for Oliver to move to a different hotel, though admirable, increases Peter’s impatience even more. It’s a good thing he has his online classes to distract him – to a point – and his ambition to move into management once he graduates helps him restrain himself. Sort of. For a little while.
When the weird accidents Oliver has been having increase in number and frequency, and Oliver wants to protect Peter by sending him to safety, Peter puts his foot down. He isn’t helpless, and he is sure they are better off fighting the invisible enemy together. As it turns out, that is true. Even with the two of them, it takes some doing!
If you like unusual shifter pairings, if you prefer your paranormal stories to have a touch of humor, and if you’re looking for a read that is as mysteriously suspenseful and funny as it is hot, then you will probably like this novella.

I always love Bailey Bradford's take on shifters, especially her more light hearted stories. The City Shifters series falls in that category. There is some mystery to this one, but the humor balances it well and the romance stays front and center. Harey Situation doesn't take itself too seriously but it doesn't discount itself either.

Light, sexy and punny, this erotic tale will bring a ray of sunshine to a gloomy day. New to me author Ms. Bradford brings a too cute and adorable sexy romance with delicious m/m shifter sex.
Oliver Biggerstaffer is a snake shifter. So many juvenile comments, all of them inappropriate to say out loud about this character and his er, "snake" abilities. He is escaping from a bad situation and ends up in Texas where he finds Peter Ruiz, a hare shifter. Yes, Peter rabbit who also embodies bunny characteristics.
I had to pick this story up because I couldn't stop chortling with the imagined B grade porn movie dialogues. "Wanna see my one-eyed snake?" "Yaasss, swallow my snake!" "I'm like the energizer bunny; I keep coming and coming and coming." I think Ms. Bradford specifically set this story up for this kind of snickering amusement. What impresses is how she deftly turns the tale into a hawt erotic romance. Make no mistakes, the sex in this story is smoking hawt. She creates two disarming characters who sneak up under our defenses and makes them irresistible.
Reading over 300 plus new erotic stores a year for the past five years, I have become jaded to sex scenes. There is very little which surprises me or catches my attention. Ms. Bradford's sexual shenanigans brings forth a joyful exuberance and has me riveted. The deferred gratification builds up the sexual tension between Oliver and Peter. Whilst this story could have been porn-driven, it isn't. Instead, there is a bit of suspense as well as a sweet courting between a gentleman to a spirited young man. The interaction between Oliver and Peter is without pretense. Peter's excitable sex drive is delightful. Peter's ease with his sexuality and his shifter characteristics helps bring Oliver to peace with his unique abilities.
This erotic romance is recommended for m/m readers who like different kind of shifters who revel in their sexuality.
Harey Situation is the second book in Bailey Bradford's city shifters series and it's a fun, entertaining ride! This series is unusual in it's shifter pairings and I love it! The first book was about a pronghorn and a bear and the shifters in this book are a snake and a hare! Very unusual and done very well!
Oliver is a snake shifter and is moving to San Antonio in search of a new job. He meets Peter, the hare shifter, at the hotel he is temporarily staying at. Oliver and Peter have an instant attraction but Oliver is reluctant to start dating Peter whilst staying at the hotel he works at. He feels its just unethical.
Peter is a hare and the saying is true-he is always horny! When he sees Oliver his reaction to him is beyond any feelings he's had with anyone before. He is surprised when Oliver sees him as more than just a quick fling. He is getting his masters in hotel management and is glad Oliver backs him in that endeavor.
Once Oliver moves out of Peter's hotel, they start dating and it heats up from there! These two are seriously hot for each other and it's a song and dance between their human and shifter forms. I really liked how they were portrayed in shifter mode! As this was an unusual pairing, I was intrigued how they would be in their animal form with each other. It was endearing as animals just as much as humans.
We also are treated to a mystery because Oliver is being targeted by someone for reasons unknown. The freaky coincidences start adding up and can not be ignored. When Peter is attacked, it brings the need to protect each other to the forefront. They figure out they need to work with each other to figure out what is going on. The suspense and mystery added to the story and I found I really enjoyed it!
So if you like a paranormal read that has a bit out-of-the-box type shifters, then you need to check out this city shifters series! The mystery, humor, and the sizzling chemistry will keep you glued until the very end!
4.5 stars/4 flames
This book was gifted to me by the Jeep Diva for the express purpose of an honest review. The rating and review are solely my opinion.
3.5 stars rounded up because of the snake/rabbit shifter pairing. I love unusual animal shifter stories, so I was immediately attracted to this one. Though it is quite short, I enjoyed it. I love how animal traits can come out even in human form. And it was interesting that there was prejudice and bias even in the animal shifter world with "mixed" pairings.
I reviewed book one here: https://thebloggergirls.com/2016/02/2... and this takes place after book one’s couple is established for awhile. It does not need to be read in order to enjoy this story.
Bailey Bradford is great at giving us shifters who SHIFT! It seems obvious, but many shifter books do not capitalize (IMHO) enough on the animal side of their nature and ignore the obvious (and cool!) things that they could do with their characters. In this case, we get a very horny rabbit and a calm, cool, and seductive snake. They use their animal characteristics as humans and have some particular traits that they carry over from their animal side. Yesssssss! There is a scene with a forked tongue!
There is some danger that occupies most of the plot and some funny moments with Peter’s cousin, but the relationship building is surprisingly slow burn given their attraction and I was surprised by the characters personality traits. Peter is not the completely submissive bottom you’d think he’d be, nor is Oliver the cold-hearted, dominating top you’d expect. Instead everyone is a bit unpredictable. It’s lovely!
The bad guys are sneaky and the mystery (while predictable) has some interesting twists, which were not so obvious and were very clever. I liked that the author even managed to bring in a little teeny tiny bit of real life politics into this when our MCs were afraid to hold hands in the street in San Antonio because of the open license to carry and their fear that a gay couple might still be shot just for being gay.
I really love this author – especially her Southwestern Shifter Series (https://www.goodreads.com/series/4834...)– and this is shaping up to be another great series.
It was ok and then also not so ok...huh? yep.. some parts worked some just what the f....
The whole lack of scent thing I just didn't get. We FINALLY get some kind of answer at the end but that just didn't quite cut it.
Oliver's paranoia that Boston could follow him. First it takes forever to learn WHAT that means. The whole big super deal (not really) that could have repercussions in Texas. Plus his mixed herritage and being shunned.. this I not so much a problem with.. it's reasonable.
Peter's copious releases.. I mean just ... kinda ewww.. who wants to deal with that EVERY single TIME? Too much work..
But all that aside, what I really had a problem with was..yes... The bad guys. The reason for the bad guys to being doing these things.. Mostly that it takes this long for someone to want to extract revenge vs. how kind of first guess no surprise villain this turned out to be.
