She could have been the one ... until she ran off with all his cash! AXEL Meeting April Sumner during a weekend in Vegas? My lucky day. I don't date, and I sure as hell don't do anything long-term. I'd make an exception for April, though—she's the kind of girl I could even marry. Of course, I don't feel quite as confident once she runs off with all my cash...
APRIL He's handsome, he's loaded, and he'll be my amusement for the night. Axel Addison is the perfect target: an unsuspecting bad boy who thinks I only want him for his looks. But I like pretty things. And Axel Addison's money will pay for them! Let the games begin...
** The Billionaire and the Con Artist is a light and fun, steamy standalone read. **
Axel is an obscenely wealthy guy that is arrogant, feels he's so entitled, whines like a baby when he is denied his heart's desire. When he didn't get his favorite hotel suite, I swear he reminded me of a two year old throwing a temper tantrum because he did,'t get his way. I knew by the title he was going to get his comeuppance and I couldn't wait! It was VERY entertaining watching his reaction when the truth dawned on him. April is the woman living on the streets using only her instincts that teaches him a major life lesson. Ironically, as things unfolded, she learned a new lesson herself. Reminded me of an old saying...something about honor among thieves. I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review. A delicious Bad Boy romance! Five Stars.
I really enjoyed this book. It has so much going on that its hard not to pay attention to it. The story is great. It's upbeat and only has some unsettling matters in it. Great book. Can't wait to continue this series.
"His voice is deep and gentle and pierces the most hidden parts of me, awakening all sorts of parts that have been asleep. Our eyes meet, and I’m surprised the lights don’t go out as the room is suddenly and heavily charged."
A bit underwhelming, but cute, steamy, and driven by emotion and backstory. The author played with the cliché billionaire and thief to make them something more than cardboard cutouts, which impressed me. There were definitely cliché moments, and the ending was too tooty-frooty for me, but all in all, this is a guilty pleasure for lazy nights when you just want to focus on something light. It was (over)dramatic, engaging, and a whole lot of fun.
Leanne Brice did a really good job with this start to the Bad Girls Series: The Billionaire and the Con Artist. It was a pleasant change reading a book with a "bad girl" versus the standard "bad boy" books that are out there. Yes, the guy in this book is a bit of a bad boy, but he's outshone by the bad girl who has her own redeeming qualities.
I enjoyed this book and cannot wait to see the next book in the series. There is definitely a lot of potential and I look forward to seeing where the author goes next.

Beautiful cover and intriguing synopsis, but that's all I can give it 2 stars for. Unfortunately, the story had way more potential than what it actually delivered. Axel's going from pre-teen tantrums to being in the mood for a few nights stand then being crazy in love in a day or two... Recommended only if you're into quick, super insta stories.
