Co-author Bauer was specifically picked by Robinson to write the book.
Arkansas-born Robinson quickly earned the job of Orioles third baseman. First few years were tough for the O’s…until 1966 when they swept the Dodgers in the World Series. Pitching staff were the star, allowing only two runs in four games. The Orioles met the Mets in the 1969 Series; we all know how that turned out. Robinson beat himself up for going 1-for-19. Redemption came in the 1970 Series against the Reds. Robinson was stellar in the field and at the pate, ultimately winning the Series MVP Award.
Nice mixture of Series action, home life, growing up stories, and things that are important to him. This was an easy read and very enjoyable.
