Quilt: Handmade Style

Rate this book
Once the exclusive territory of old maids and pioneer women, modern crafters are discovering the cozy rewards of quilting. From the traditional to the contemporary, Quilt presents 15 original projects sure to suit every taste. This stylish how-to book provides you with everything you need to know to create beautiful hand-made quilts for your home.

The quilts in this book represent a mixture of time-honored and modern designs in both patchwork and whole-cloth quilts. Helpful step-by-step photographs and expert advice guide you throughout each project — including choosing fabrics, simple stitches, and more advanced quilting techniques.

Not a stitching wizard? Don't worry — most of the quilts in this book can be made by anyone with average sewing skills, and many are suitable for absolute beginners. Try a cosy 1930's Scrap Quilt, an elegant Toile and Ticking Quilt, or a sumptuous Pleated Silk Quilt — there's a quilt here for everyone.

Sure to inspire modern-day quilting bees! This refreshing and innovative take on a very traditional folk art will appeal to a new generation of quilters.

I picked up the idea of using buttons to "tie" a quilt. The book cover, title, and contents are just kind of vague.
