~5~ Powerful stars from me!!!
A really blow minding story, didn't even realized when it finished and then i just wanted more!! I will certainly leave this review spoiler free so read freely cause this plot has so many wow moments by the twists, the secrets and it's preferably to read it and you'll understand what i'm saying. So once again after the Forget me not series the author created once more a fantastic storyline with uncommon main characters and that's the thing that won me from the beginning, you can't foresee what's going to happen next, what they'll do...
Ethan ..well you love him and hate him the same time for a variety of reasons, he sexy, gorgeous, Alpha dominant male but he is a very closed character no one can reach him (especially his heart) or see what he is truly planning...One thing for sure is that he is very powerful and has everything he desires.. or not??
Scarlett on other hand is a heroine you don't expect to read, she used to be spoil and yes she thinks as a princess but 'till the end i see her evolving, becoming a strong person who tries to read hidden words and solve puzzle many people wouldn't bother but she does, there were moments where i wanted to slap her and some other to hug her for the bad things in her life. She definitely gives a dynamic vibe to the story.
The plot is certainly a dirty game, the twists are explosive and the mystery make this book the perfect recipe and it's only the start i can't even imagine what's going to happen in next but from what i've seen so far, i expect thunders and tornadoes. Definitely recommend this beauty and i can't wait to read the next..i became obsessive with their story!!

I picked up this book because I like dark stories. When I hit the 20% mark I'd already been reminded that not all people understand or are capable of writing dark stories. This book really needed a hard edit to keep the "50 Syndrome" out of it. This "mysterious billionaire" crap is just that, crap. I have no idea where we go the idea that women should be mistreated and treated like dirt in romances. ROMANCE? No way Jose'. Romance can be dark, and it can be good dark, but not when its written by the hand of someone who is too immature to understand that 50 Shades was a horribly written, make-believe, juvenile story that wasn't so much a fantasy as a total rip-off. That book, and this one, did not represent anything dark, anything BDSM, or even anything romance.
And when I got to the end, I discovered in order to finally reach the end of the story, I had to buy at least 4 more books, probably more. That's my pet peeve to authors - if you write a CLIFFHANGER, or if you have decided that your little novellas are worth as much as a real book, you need to say so in the blurb. I want to know that Part I does not end in an HEA, it "might" end at Book 5, or as some authors have done, Book 12 or 13. I am done with this. Write a book, make it between 70K and 120K words, the size of a REAL novel, put a price tag on it, and I'll read it. Getting this for free was a rip off, as I refuse to buy further books just to read move juvenile drivel.

I like this story but hate the concept of this series.
Book 1 and 2 are about Ethan and Scarlet. Book 3 and 4 are about Blake and Nora. I thought at least Scarlet would be more involved in book 3. But no.
Neither story is complete yet. By the time these stories are done you'll be down a fortune. I'm out.

Intrigued by the mystery
Liv Bennett's, Power series is intriguing. I was hooked by the synopsis but started hooked by the storyline and plot. There is a clear understanding of the villain but it is unclear what his true intentions are.
This book obviously ends in a cliffhanger, but I truly want to find out if the true villain is who we think it is and if he is, can she change his heart.

This is actually a very good book
My only criticism is that the story builds very slowly, but the drama is steadily building. It’s just a little too slow for my taste. I really like the twist of the story though. Scarlet’s savior becomes her jailer. Ethan was only pretending to keep Scarlet safe. I will say that Scarlet is suspicious of Ethan for quite some time. He is using her for sex. She is confusing the sex with love. I really like this book though.

Well Damn Then.....
Captivating story. The characters both excite me and scare me at the same time. Is Ethan good or bad and how does Nora protect herself from something she has nothing to do with. Feelings she has no control of. Will it get darker for her as she remain a captive in a dangerous game. On to Book 2.....

A good start
I love angst stories with double crossing and underhanded themes. This first boik reads like one. The beginning was a little choppy and needed a little editing. But as i read further it began to flow. I guess the author hit stride. I will get book 2. I will continue this series, ad long as it keeps it tempo.

Different from anything I've read before
This is my first read from this author, so I really had no idea what to expect. And what I got was, suspense, danger, intrigue, steam, and a few unexpected twists! There's so much to be uncovered, and I can't way to read what happens next. Lots of things to explain and loose ends to tie up. Good start!

very good read
A very good book to read, the plot keeps you on your toes wondering what the heroine is going to do next and how shell escape from her captor or would be killer? Romance, intrigue, all rolled into one story.

Good capturing read
A bit dark but in a dark world were dark people live, power is not always on the right hands and those who appear the darkest are those who are the light. Very crippling read looking forward to book two.

Great book! A little slow at first, but being a first in a series you need the background. Very interesting with lots of twists and leaves you needing to find out what's going to happen next!

Because the story is compelling enough here that I think you will also feel the need to finish the series, this is a review of the series.
Likes:
* I like the dynamic between Ethan and Scarlett
* I find the writing to be invisible in a good way; it is clear and makes way for the story, which is compelling
* I like that the person in charge of the central organization is female
* I like that it mentions some history you wouldn’t see otherwise
* I think the series portrayal of human trafficking brings up costs that wouldn’t otherwise be visible
* a lot of the portrayal of Jewish life events/beliefs is accurate as to, for example, weddings and abortion
Dislikes:
* that this central, criminal, world controlling organization is run by Jews feels very Elders of Zion / somewhat anti-Semitic albeit with a different stated reason
* the characters have less agency than I think fully makes sense

Sexy and Full of Twists! I would love to be seduced by Ethan! ;) Liv, as usual, creates characters that are complex & engaging. I sat down to read just a bit of book 1 and it's past midnight. Uggg. Want to jump into book 2 so bad!

Holy crap! This book is amazing! Suspenseful, Erotic and Drama! Your constantly trying to put the pieces together of why Scarlett's life has been turned upside-down with no help or supporters to go to. Her dad is in jail impending a trial with charges of setting up a bomb to explode at his corporation that killed twelve people. He's innocent, but Scarlett must get that proven from his lawyers to set him free. Meanwhile, she meets Ethan Koenig and allows him to help her through all this mess. She's suspicious of him, but more intrigued and lusts for him more. The things he has done to her and the things he does to her and for her are just mind blowing. You'll try to rationalize his mind way of thinking and just come up with a blank.
There is none stop action in this story and you will "Power" read through this series to get the answers! Liv Bennett always delivers nothing but the best stories! Amazing writer!
