The planet Syrene is gripped by Separatist rebellion. Pavlov's Dogs, a team of Russian spetsnaz lead by Lieutenant Petya Pavlov, are dropped into a world at war.
Their task is simple. Defend Hammerfall, a research centre right on the front lines, surrounded by steaming jungle. There are enemies to fight and battles to win, but the greatest dangers come from within, and the Russian Confederation faces a threat much more serious than anyone could have possibly believed...
The Khorsky Incident begins at Hammerfall.
Part I of III in the Khorsky trilogy, and a novel-length prelude to the Khorsky Incident.
I've always been writing in my mind. I have way, way, way too many stories to tell and far too little time to tell them.
I've been involved in Star Trek roleplay-by-emails for a few years, where basically I learned my craft, but it's only last year that I actually started putting these thoughts to paper.
By day I'm a software engineer. But by night I write a little science fiction, a little fantasy, a little humour and comedy, and a little erotica under pen names.
"We don't say 'aye aye, It's arf arf.' " Pavlov's Dogs, a small select team of Russian elite special forces under Pavlov's command, are dropped onto a nowhere planet to defend the Hammer fall Research Centre which is, apparently being attacked by Seperatists. Three of the Dogs are new members, the team having lost some of it's members in a previous action. One of those killed had been Minsky, Pavlov's love and he still felt the loss keenly.Expected only to be a milk run, the assignment gets turned on it's head when everything, and almost everyone, turns weird.
Skillfully structured with Pavlov recounting the story of what happened from his prison cell back on the Russian ship, Fat Lady, this exciting mud and action filled science fiction book is also a mystery. Just what is happening and why does everyone seem so murderous but happy? Intriguing, inovative and totally absorbing, with great characterisations and often funny, this is a worthy addition to the Legacy Fleet World.
My warmest thanks to the author, David Adams, for gifting me a copy of Hammerlock. Without his generous action I would not have been able to read and enjoy this splendid book, living as i do outside of the U.S. and so not able to purchase Kindle World Books. Please, Amazon, review your sales policy on this. There must be many Legacy World enthusiasts like myself who are unhappy with our second class citizen status and would far rather purchase the books for ourselves than have to rely on the kindness of the authors (they are a very generous lot but I'm sure that, they too, would prefer to sell their hard crafted works than donate them). So, my thanks again to the author. And you lucky readers who are able to buy this book, do it now
