POWER 1 is FREE! I used to be a spoiled princess, a diva whose life revolved around clothes and expensive trips. Worth fifty million dollars only half a year ago, now I'm down to living on pennies. No more weekend escapades to Aspen or skinny-dipping in Barcelona for me. No more security guards or private chauffeurs. My designer clothes and exclusive jewelry are all gone. My life turned upside down when my father was charged for a crime he didn’t commit; a bomb explosion that took the lives of twelve people in the heart of Los Angeles. Hope comes in the form of a gorgeous man and a deal I have no alternative but to accept. Ethan Koenig, a mysterious businessman I haven't heard of before, offers me a helping hand that comes with conditions...conditions that send fear into my heart and delicious shivers down my body. Suspiciously familiar with my father's case, Ethan leads me toward dark secrets that go way beyond the bomb explosion. With each new revelation, I realize the man who's helping me might be the one behind it all. By the time I try to escape, it's too late. My heart is irrevocably lost to the man whose one and only purpose in life is to take revenge on my family.
The second part of the series continues exactly where the first part finished, this one has more suspense, more twists and some really blow-minding scenes.
The mystery kept me reading and the same time holding my breath of what is going to happen next, our characters continue to play the game of cat and mouse trying to hide their true feelings for each other but the fail to do that in many parts, page after page you grow to love them more, sometimes i was like.."Come on you two do something already.."..
The author really turned the plot in the most interesting way cause the end was just explosive..I don't wanna spoil anything so I'll jump to the next part right away..the series are honestly really good!!
Book 2 continues where book 1 left off with more suspense and twists. However, we do get some questions answered, but new ones form! The synopsis for book 3 has me a bit confused as to the direction the story is going. So well see...
I don’t like the direction it’s going into. I guess that would mean it’s a good book because I want to know what happens to Scarlet. So, I’ll keep reading to see whether she makes it out of her situation.
Scarlett never thought of Ethan as a cold-blooded killer, but that is exactly what he is when he kills her attacker; how could she lose her heart to a heartless man she wonders. Scarlett has betrayed Ethan’s trust and as a consequence he offers her to Baron Richter; she would act as his girlfriend and he as her protector – but Scarlett is repulsed and rejects Richter’s advances. It is the day of Jordan’s birthday party and Scarlett knows it will be a challenging day in all respects and not one she is looking forward to; all she knows is that if she gets exposed, she will be on her own. Ethan can sense there is something wrong at Wolfgang’s reception and then an unexpected arrival at his penthouse calls for drastic measures to be taken to protect Scarlett’s life. Scarlett wants to know why she is in so much danger and when Ethan tells her about the interaction between her parents and his, everything begins to make sense. Nevertheless, Ethan promises to protect Scarlett at all cost, but now has no choice but to send her away for her own protection. What Ethan doesn’t realise is that the person he entrusts Scarlett’s safety to, Esther, will betray him. QB has given Esther no other option, and now Scarlett is going to meet the mysterious woman who intends to use her as a means of revenge. When Baron Richter arrives to pick up his gift from QB, Scarlett has to come to terms with the fact that she will live, but at what cost, when Richter is now her new owner. This is the second book in this series and the story just becomes more intriguing and exciting as the plot develops. I am really enjoying the book and it has been a pleasure to read; certainly one I would have no hesitation in recommending. I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Oh! My! God! I am all tears right now. I was scared to death in this book all the way through. I don't know how Scarlett has survived so much from this story. My heart was racing so much through this. I was literally bighting my nails! There is so many twist and turns in this book. You go from kinda liking Ethan, to totally hating him, then your just disgusted with him, then back thinking maybe he isn't so bad, but that's a BIG maybe. Esther, haven't trusted her since book one and for good reason. In this book it gets revealed. Dari quite surprised me. She went from being disgusted with Scarlett to coming to her aid with genuine concern. Alex was pretty much torn through the whole book on who's side he should be on. Scarlett got to see her dad briefly in the hospital. Best reunion for her. It helped gain her confidence that she can make it through all this and get him free. Book Three is already gonna be hard for me to read. Human trafficking will be in the book and that is such a scary realistic subject to read about. I cried my eyes out at the end of this book just imagining what lies ahead. Liv Bennett has fascinated me with every one of her books! She writes so realistically. You get sucked in immediately in the story and everything else around you just fades out. You just can't put her books down!
Power #2 is an intense romantic suspense and throws a lots of curve balls for Scarlet and Ethan as well as Esther and her father. Liv Bennett weaves in a bit of fantasy and history as well and in return you get a rich plot that'll keep you on the edge. I'm loving book 2 and the direction of this series.
I'm mesmerised by the horror of how Scarlet's journey is unfolding and how more and more it becomes seemingly impossible for her. It's clear she and Ethan have very strong feelings for each other. But whilst it now seems that he was really trying to protect her, it's clear QB will be looking for his Achilles heel. He's being tested but is he strong enough to save or will he walk away from Scarlet. Will Scarlet come out of this ordeal unscathed or will she lose herself. I can't wait for the next instalment.
I loved the first book of Power and this one was just as interesting. There are moments that you want to throw your kindle and you wonder what is going to happen next. Ms. Bennett you have a new fan. Can't wait to read the next one!
